And all debates are usually revolved not about characters identity, but around "is this character fuckable for me?"

Same shit for game characters like Frisk Undertale and Chris Deltarune

People think they/them is just "left ambiguous so that players could choose themselves

If devs want to be inclusive, they usually just give player option to customize and choose gender themselves

With Chris the identity part is especially important, because there are certain hints that Toriel might not be fully on this, which probably be explored in next chapters

I go by Ice, she/her pronouns 💕. In case you had any of these questions, here you go:

1. "Why'd you make this page?"

I want to make the creation space- fandom to professional- more inclusive for people that look like me.

It is very disheartening when you really like something, and you see that oh! It's going to include a Black character! And then you get that character and... They're subpar. Especially in comparison to the usually white characters that have so much thought put into them. You accept them because you REALLY want that rep, but... We deserve to wholeheartedly accept our characters too, no ehhs about it.

I wanted to challenge myself, using my amateur art skills and my teaching skills, to convey to creators how that makes us feel, and little things they can do to more intentionally create their Black characters. There's more to us than adding to a diversity quota.

2. "So you aren't even a professional?"

I got 27.5 years of being a Black person on my resume 🤣 jokes aside, I am a self teaching artist. It's only been about a year for me. My more specific goal here is to use my skills to convey a perspective change towards Blackness, not necessarily a "how to do". If you want to learn the specific how-to's of drawing Black characters, there are Black artists all over Tumblr and the web that can show you. I actively encourage you to go check them out and support them, it's a great way to learn as well as to support our community!

3. "But if you're not a professional, why should I trust you?"

Well, again, because I don't have to be a professional to recognize when supposedly Black characters... Don't look like me 😅. Or, in writing, don't have any thought about me behind them. I could show my 87 year old Grandma some art and she'd recognize the issues.

But also, I personally believe that if you start from the foundations thinking about intentionally creating your Black characters, it'll make it much easier for you moving into the future. I am holding my hand out as a Black peer to HELP YOU! There are professional video games and art pieces and projects out there with poorly designed Black characters. The concept clearly needs to be introduced to the people somewhere before a million dollar project is release 🤣 But I can't talk to the people at the AAA studios. I can talk to you!

4. "I don't think race matters/should matter."

Alas, it does, everything we do is affected by our beliefs unconsciously or not- but I'm not going to waste my time and argue with you. This blog isn't for you 🤷🏾‍♀️ this blog is for those who want to take that first step to be better, both as creators and as people. 👍🏾

5. "Do you support AI?"

Not in the arts. Learn how to draw and/or write, it's very fulfilling.

6. "Do you answer asks?"

I do! However, this is a lesson based page, more than an ask based page. If I think your ask can be answered by one of my lessons, I'll refer you to that lesson. If it's an ask that's relevant to something coming up, I will answer it, but you will find more detail in the lesson coming up! I'm only one person doing this, and I can't answer every singular scenario. Also, keep in mind, if you ask me my opinion on something, I will be fair, but honest!

7. Will you be turning on anons?

Okay: right now, we've earned Anon Office Hours Wednesday thru Friday 12:30-6:30pm EST!

Most of this is due to the nature of what I'm discussing. Historically, these topics (and how race is relevant) upset some people, and it can get unsafe. Personally, I have no intention of allowing racists, or those who will take my advice in bad faith, to hide their faces. If you want to hate me, speak with your chest 😤👍🏾

The other part is that it is not a bad thing to ask questions! I did create this blog to be a learning opportunity. So long as you are kind to me and send me asks in good faith, I will be kind to you and reply in good faith. I'm also pretty sure I have the option to answer privately, so if you don't want your question posted publicly, You can say that.

Sanji is honestly one of the most queer/transfem-coded characters I've ever seen and what makes it so funny is that it's mostly just unintentional asfhhjjkk like my jaw DROPPED at the Kamabakka filler with Caroline (I know its not canon but it hasn't left my mind since asfhhh)

What brings me to my actual question: do you personally see Sanji as more of a woman than a man? I know he's a man in canon (for now lmao) but I'm always tempted to use they/them or she/her when referring to Sanji, but I feel like a lot of the fandom wouldn't take it well 😅 I've already seen some ppl complaining that he's being "misgendered" when called babygirl and he wouldn't like it because he's a MAN and it's just *deep sigh*

I mean Sanji calls himself a he/him and everyone calls Sanji a he/him so eh, like yeah they're not real but going by in world preferences makes it all easier you know? Doesn't stop hcs and theories though lmao like go for it if that's the case.

In saying that I genuinely think Sanji hates being a man and hates how he feels as a man and thinks it's a universal thing that men don't like being men. Like imagine Sanji talking to Yamato like "but why do you want to be a MAN isn't being a woman better? aren't women just nicer?" and before Yamato can explain this is not his own choice Sanji is just rambling about how much better being a woman is and Yamato's like "holy fuck...I know something about him that he doesn't" LMAOOO

So, I have started to read your "In pararel " comics, and I really like Nathalie and Hermes designe (Personally I would have vent with less sophisticated name, like Omni-vore or Glutoniverse, but that's just me, it's a good name😃)

So, if the situation would be different, I wouldn't ask, but since and @stopaskingmetowearthatwig are know each other, would you consider to ask if you can use her version of the heroes, and would you use it? I like these designes, and it feels like in the midle grounf, beeing beetween cannon an non, so any differencces, like Hesperia's name or the fact he refferes to Hawk moth, not monarch, could be explained... Also, I feel it fitts well that "Mayura" has a new designe and so do the heroes and the villains... also, it would be interesting to see an AU's AU😁

Well, it's just an idea, if you think it's a bad, sorry, I don't want to force you, it was just a suggestion.

For the naming the sentimonster, I like your suggestions! The theory behind choosing Hermes was that he provides the ability to travel and is sort of a messenger but yes the only visual clue to the god by this name were the wings apart from that.

Yes, me and Mog know each other but I'm not really sure what you mean by using her version of the heros -- I assume you mean Toxinelle's and Griffe Noire's visual design?👀 If I remember well, we didn't have the reference images for Griffe Noire and Hesperia back when she did that magnificent cover💖 -- this is why the difference. Tbh I didn't think to ask to use those designs because at the time I got to actually drawing my comic all the reference images were coming out and it was much easier to work with images that show the characters from multiple angles. I'd also like to keep the comic consistent in that regard, so as good as your idea is -- it is a great idea!! --, I won't ask Mog for the designs. 'In parallel' will go on with the canon ones.

About the differences from canon: yes, this comic is canon divergent from the special, they travelled to Papillon's Paris not Monarch's and the events all went different. When I was coming up with the comic idea, we only had a short synopses of the special, so a lot in the comic is just the way I imagined and not accurate. For example there's, no dystopy in my work because I had no idea there would be in the special😅

And about the names: I use Hesperia, Toxinelle and Griffe Noire because I find the french names more authentic and I generally prefer the french dub.

16 - What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?

"Other Additional tags to be Added" is the official one because it usually lists that when I type in "additional tags" anyway. But I find this question confusing. As far as the tags that I add after the additional tags tag, it's probably "Mixed Media Storytelling", which is one that I made and it isn't official, but I try to stay consistent. I almost always forget to add it when I include music or pictures that add to the experience of the fic. In fact, I just double checked to make sure KKII had it, and it does. XD

17 - Your favorite character to write this year?

I was gonna say Shuu, but then I remembered "Seeing Red". I gotta say, Red Eye was surprisingly easy to write despite him being a nonexistent POV in the AC fandom. XD And I'm very proud of it.

The reason I would've said Shuu is because he's more of a challenge than Karma and Nagisa. Karma and Nagisa really feel like Stag and Deshi to me sometimes, so the only thing I have to worry about is making sure Karma and Stag don't sound the same, and that Nagisa and Deshi don't sound the same. I don't have a Shuu-esque OC, so it's fun to try and get in his head and it's a bit easier than it was to be Kyoko or Rio in Students of Despair. I guess I just have a preference for being boys. 🙄😅

18 - The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?

Kyoko. I always wondered if I made her smart enough, and while it may have fit the character that I recreated in Students of Despair, some of the comments got to me because it was a worry I already had. I really struggled with what her knowledge base was because it felt like I was leading her train of thought too much, whether it was towards or away from the truth it was always a conscious effort, which made her feel inauthentic. It's hard to convey a really intelligent character sleuthing correctly while I already know the answer. So many times I asked myself "but did she find this out through deductive reasoning, or did I just give it to her?" And the end result was making her somewhat slower than her character was in the game.

Or maybe I'm overthinking it. But seriously, that shit was hard. Karma was easier in ASR R3 because I didn't know what the challenges were going to be like until I got there.

29 - Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

This is such a hard question, and the reason I'm taking a moment to answer this ask because I'm going through all my fics and trying to think of what's most memorable so I can find my favorite line/passage in all of it. (I wrote so many words this year! 😭)

Notable lines so far:

[Nagisa emerges from the bathroom, pale as a ghost. “Did we get ‘im?” He weakly asks, collapsing onto the ground.

I laugh, rushing over to his side and helping him out into some clean clothes. “Yeah, we got ‘im.”
