✫ ok so for this you basically r watching the team practice (u r friends w them) and during the water break u decide to give ur good friend suna a call thinking it’s your best friend, ghalya (my irl best friend btw 😉).

this whole day you’ve been thinking about one thing. whether u should or shouldn’t go watch your crush practice. the obvious answer was yes because you were friends with all the second years on the team, but in the back of ur mind you were rethinking the decision. so you decide to ask your best friend.

“bruh yes wth r u thinking ofc u should go 😐”

ghalya looked at you as if you were the dumbest person in the world for letting the thought of not going cross your mind. “okok fine ig I will” you sigh, but then u get a idea “what if… YOU CAME WITH.”…. only to be answered with a

“no. I’m not ab to go to a practice for ppl idk 😨.. and even if I wanted to I cant, I have to study for my exam next week”

as if you ever study 🤨 is what you WANTED to say, but instead u settled for a “fine”.

when u got to the practice the first person to notice your arrival was atsumu. “OMG Y/N HIII” he waved with a smile, gaining the attention of his teammates. after they all greeted you, you sat down watching them. your eyes constantly rerouting onto one person… suna. if you were being honest, your crush on him was FAT ASL. u were head over heels for this boy; not that you’d ever tell him.

during their water break you looked at him again, sweat dripping down from his hair as he drank his water, you kept looking at his hands. his pretty pretty hands, his long slender fingers and his short kept nails. as you started to examine his face, suna looked at you. after maintaining eye contact for a couple of seconds you looked away, flustered. his eyes were beautiful, a perfect shade of grayish yellow. they were practically glowing. so you did the normal thing to do, bother your best friend about it.

you had taken your phone out of your pocket, opening the phone app and calling the 4th recently called person instead of the third.

“hello??” you start, leaving no room for response. “ghalya emergency. im FR ab to punch suna rintaro. why? u may ask. THIS MF. WITH HIS PRETTY ASS SELF DECIDES TO LOOK AT ME FOR A COUPLE SECONDS. like im already I’m love w u dont play. GHALYA PLZ I NEED HELP IM DYING FR.”

“umm… l/n????”

“oh. okay. allow me to go kms.”

when I tell u that u ran out. I mean u MF RAN OUT. when you got home you called ghalya (actually her this time). and RANTED UR ASS AB IT until a certain someone knocked on your front door. u went to look though the peephole, you saw him. so you fixed your hair and dusted your clothes rlly quick and opened the door. “hey-“

that was all he said, it was so quick and he barely muttered it, but you heard it so clear. and your jaw DROPPED. (not actually) “you WHAT?” you were FR in denial. “I said, I like you too” he said, slower this time. “so, do u think we could go to a cafe this sunday? as a date?” he had a blank face but you could tell he was kinda nervous. “yeah, I’d like that….. like I’d REALLY like that” you said without thinking. he smiled

after he left, you were laying in your bed those same words repeating in your head

you were crying (not actually). not because you were sad but bc how FINE atsumu looked in his newest instagram post. you were laying on your stomach and KICKING UR FEET AND GIGGLING. u felt like an elementary school girl who had a crush on a boy. it was a selfie of atsumu after he had woke up, his bedhead was cute and all in his face, he was pouting and his eyebags were as visible as can be 😭. but somehow, he pulled it off. the picture was captioned “stupid ass brother CANT keep his mouth shut when I’m sleeping but at practice he don’t even call for the ball 😐” his comments were FILLED with girls saying things like “omg my pants suddenly fell off” or “don’t disrespect my man osamu like that!!!”….

you were jealous.

so you just HAD to call your best friend akira to talk ab it. so you called and as soon as the phone was picked up you gave no room for anyone else to speak.

“omg. akira. I’m ab to give atsumu a big fat kiss bc why does he look so good. like IK I be talking ab him to u a lot and stuff but like HOLY SHIT. HOW CAN SOMEONE LOOK SO GOOD AND WAKE UP AT THE SAME TIME. but those girls in the comments can fr die bc like back off or wtv 🙄.”

when I tell u your heart bursted out of ur chest I mean full ass HEART ATTACK. you ended that call so quick not even the flash could outdo you.

2 minutes had passed and atsumu was spamming you with things like “Y/N ANSWER PLEASE” or “Y/NNNNNNNNNNNN IK U SEE THIS”. until one text message caught ur eye

“I like u too btw 🙄”

ONLY THEN you answered with a “thats wild”

“oh so NOW you want to reply 🤨🙄”, you smiled at this, calling him back. “omg atsumus like soooo hot and he my man fr!!” he mocked, you glared at the phone laughing sarcastically, then he added a “we should go on a date ykyk i pick u up at 6 tmrw and we go out ykyk i’ll make sure to make myself look extra good”.

“yeah that would be great actually we should”

you both talked for a little after that, talking about your days and volleyball until you say u need to gtb.

Good morning/afternoon/night I was hoping if you can you do a Kurapika x fem reader, where reader's brother is Chrollo. (But Kurapika doesn't know that..yet)

Like Kurapika and reader have been dating but reader ended up picking up a job far from him for a while. (Up to the point where Kurapika now knows how Chrollo look).

......I don't think i'm wording this right.....like to the part where Kurapika is in the car with Chrollo and then out of no where Chrollo says something like

"Oh, so your the boy my dear sister is dating and you're the chain user..."....

You say as you start to head to your plane as Kurapika waves at you back with a sad smile, he watches as your figure slowly starts to walk out and onto the plane.

You had landed a pretty good job that only hunters can get and it was your dream job but sadly it was far from Kurapika but you said you guys would meet up for holidays if work would allow you guys to take some days off.

As you got onto the plane and made your way to your seat you started to remember what happened the night before you left. Your hands were pinned above your head as Kurapika made soft hungry kisses on your neck and collarbone, kurapikas other hand grasped one of your boobs massaging and playing with it's bud as it harden under his fingers.

he would slide in and out of you with ease from how wet you had became, pounding in and out of you over and over, you moaned loudly as he let out soft groans and heavy panting with some quit soft whimpering as he released his warm seed deep into you.

He was all you had as family..well counted as family.your brother never really talked about his work to you since you decided you didn't want in on the phantom troupe, you were once in but you had gotten out after almost dying.

your spider tattoo long removed and tried to move past that past but once you found out that Kurapika was hunting down every spider because they massacred his family you were heartbroken and mostly because he wanted to kill the head and everyone that was apart of the massacre of his clan....and you had a bigger secret other than the fact you were related to Chrollo was that....it was you that was assigned to kill a little boy almost the same age as you,

he had brown hair and a red and white (idk what it’s called what they wear) and beautiful scarlet eyes.

yes you were young but your nen was strong even your brother wanted to steal it. as you stabbed the boy and gouged out his eyes you heard him whisper something.

"K-...Kura..pika....i'm..sorry"

you didn't know who he was talking about but it made you feel a bit sad for him.

You later on found out who Kurapika was....at the hunter exam. you hid your true last name and your past and everyone believed it, you would have never thought that you'd fall in love with Kurapika nor did you ever expect for him to actually date you....everything is going good...but one day....Kurapika would find out the truth.

Beep....beep....beep. You snapped out of your thoughts and looked down at your phone to see you totally ignore your older brother, he asked if you made any friends at the hunter exam you quickly replied

Y/n: You're hella late for that message

Chrolla: I was busy with work..I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner.

Y/n: it's fine, but yeah i made a bit and I have a boyfriend too!

you quickly sent a picture of you, Gon, Killua, Leorio and Kurapika and than another pic of just you and kurapika, you didn't think much of the pictures until you realized what you just did...kurapika and your brother are like enemies...but they don't know how each other look...right!? well you tried to delete it but your brother has already seen the pictures...the damage has been done.

Chrollo: Oh i see..so the blonde one is your boyfriend?...interesting, well i'm truly happy you found someone, it would be wonderful if i could meet him

Y/n: Yeah..that'd be great (You forced down your anxiety as you continued to type) I miss you

Chrollo: Likewise

You put your phone down and mentally slapped yourself "I'm such an idiot"

Another week has gone by and Kurapika finally texted saying he won't be able to text because he got a big lead on the phantom troupe 😮‍💨 wow you really started to rethink about dating him.

(Kurapika ignore everyone man, poor Leorio being left on not seen)

but you had other things to worry about, you had been throwing up and feeling just like shit, you missed your period but you didn't think much of it (In case urs is like everywhere like mine lol)

you felt horrible this week and even called work which was full of you just vomiting in the bathroom...let's just say that's all they need to hear before hanging up on you saying you can stay home today. you ended up searching your symptoms up and your face ran cold, you can't possibly be pregnant....right?! you got up and decided to go to the store to get some pregnancy tests, running home after. Once you got home you did the tests and now the worst part...waiting.

(Kurapika's side now) (Also i forgot how dis ep went..)

"We'll be fine,...a number of the enemy were injured, so they'll stay put until backup arrives" Kurapika says to Leorio before turning to Chrollo next to him in the car.

"What are you looking at?" Kurapika says with a hint of sass

"Nothing" Chrollo says as he looks away continuing "I just didn't expect the chain user to be a woman"

"Who said I was"

Kurapika says as he takes off his wig

"I thought you knew better than to trust appearances, regardless you should watch what you say, since it may will be the last thing out of your mouth"

Chrollo's eyes widen for a second as he sees kurapika but only for a second before going back to normal.

"You aren't going to kill me, not after you left your precious friends behind and...Y/n...you wouldn't kill her brother....would you"

Kurapika got mad as he spoke without much thought of what Chrollo had just said.

"I may appear calm and-wait what did you just say? ''

Chrollo just smiled as turned out of the window.

"So she hasn't told you about me....figured,...she told me about you....but she surely didn't tell me you're the chain user"

"Don't talk about Y/n like you know her!" Kurapika tightened the chains around Chrollo as his voice got louder. Leorio tried to tell Kurapika to calm down but to be honest everyone was shocked, you couldn't be related to...to the leader of the phantom troupe. Kurapika was angry, he couldn't believe that....but...he also couldn't bring himself to fully believe that it was a lie either...

"But I do know her....why wouldn't I know my very own sister..if you don't believe me, you can look through my phone."

Kurapika told him to shut up and wrapped his mouth with chains as he grabbed Chrollo's phone and his heart sank....he found your name in his contacts and pictures that you sent of you and him and the rest of the other....he gripped the phone hard,

Leorio tried to comfort Kurapika to make him think of the mission and that's what made Kurapika come back to his sense. but the lingering thought of you related to this monster wouldn't get out of his head...were you a part of the murder of his clan? No you wouldn't be....you don't even have the tattoo....you also are not your brother...his crimes have nothing to do with you...you are someone else....not that monster....

you came back to the bathroom to see if they were positive or not...as you grab the first one you take a deep breath before turning it around to see two red lines and not faint ones either, they were pretty deep color, you nervously chuckled to yourself as you grabbed the other one only to see the same results. You were happy but....would Kurapika even want kids right now?!

you guys were still very young and he had a mission and having a child right now wouldn't be the best...you grabbed your phone and went straight to your brother's number, you decided to text him but stopped.....shouldn't Kurapika know first? maybe you should go over there and visit him,

but the only day you could probably see him is in 3 weeks

After 3 weeks pass you get on the flight back to yorknew city. Once you arrived you were not greeted by him but instead with melody and Leorio, they both seemed to have sad and stern faces, you were confused on why. As you came closer to them, Leorio looked away from your gaze

. "Is it true?..."

"Huh? Is what true?"

You said but Leorio just shook his head before walking away telling Melody that he'll wait inside the car.

"What's with him?"

You questioned Melody, she just looked down and said

"I think...it's better you talk to Kurapika...."

you were confused why they were acting so weird and you were also kinda worried for kurapika...did something happen to him?!

you followed Melody outside and into the car Leorio was waiting inside. He started to drive and the entire ride there it was filled with an awkward tension,

once the car stopped at yours and Kurapika's place you stepped out of the car and Melody just nods at you before leaving with Leorio you walked up to the right door before pulling out your keys to open the door but it wasn't..locked..strange. you walked in and set your stuff near the ground as you took your shoes off and walked farther into the house/apartment.

"Kurapika?..love?"

You said as you walked to your shared room, slowly opening the door you can see Kurapika sitting on the edge of the other side of the bed with his back to you and his head hanging low (Btw it's night and the room it dark) you walk closer before you stop in your tracks with the simple 5 words he said.

"Do..you have a brother...."

"I...I..do...why?"

Kurapika slowly turns his head to you and you can see his scarlet eyes shine bright through his hair, tears threatening to fall from his eyes as he glares at you. Your heart stopped and your blood ran cold...did he..find out...no he couldn't have....

"And...is he...the leader of the Phantom troupe?...."

you looked down at the envelop you had in your hand. the envelop was pictures of the pregnancy test and a small letter saying that he was going to be a father....but now..you don't know if you should even keep this baby growing inside of you....you killed Kurapika's best friend and was apart of the spiders and now...you're caring his child ....

"I'm....sorry....." You say as tears start to well up in your eyes and fall, the tears in his eyes fall like a river that was being forced back for so long.

"No..why...why..." Kurapika cried out quietly, covering his face with his hands, his head still handing down

"Kurapika..i'm-"

"Just...G-...Get out!"

he lifted his head and ran a hand threw his hair as tears kept falling, his eyes narrowed to you. You placed the envelop next to him on the bed before leaving. You didn't want to cause him more pain...but you felt that he should know you're carrying his child...you were going to keep his child because it'd feel like killing another part of his clan if you got rid of it......

Once you left Kurapika felt even worse, why didn't you tell him sooner? why didn't you tell him before he....feel in love with you. Kurapika looked down at the envelop before getting up and leaving the house/apartment to go back to work....well surely there'll be work to do at this hour?.....right?

I Think i might make a part two to this where Kurapika reads the envelop after a while of just avoiding it.......also i had a total brain fart writing this....i didn't know what to do ....

I always see people comment on how Daniel is turning more into Gun due to how he has improved in fighting as the story progresses. HOWEVER, I've never heard Daniel becoming James Lee before and I find that concept very interesting. I'm not sure if PTJ is leading Daniel towards that path of him becoming the new "James Lee", since he is a self-righteous character who seeks truth.

Even though I find this moment to be very cool, I worry that Daniel might create more enemies for himself and I hope he doesn't kill anyone then spiral into long-term guilt like James Lee.

Sorry I've been so inactive lately I started a new job like a week ago and it's been insane sorting everything out + learning and complying with all my new obligations and schedule + the long ass fucking commute

Just so y'all have an idea I get out of my house at 4am when it's still dark outside just so I can get to my workplace by 7am then I get out around 3:30pm and get home at like 6 or 7pm that of course, doesn't leave much time for myself before I need to catch some sleep early to rise again next morning rinse and repeat

bruh I had a day off yesterday and I'm already exhausted again lmao (tho I am mostly pissed bc reasons) I will collapse is2g I have a headache rn it is raining buckets and I'm tired I just wanna curl up in bed and maybe cry a lil bit

HELLO. I AM ALSO EXCITED, AND TERRIFIED. It's completely in-office, which I haven't done in years. My old job was hybrid, and my most recent job was fully remote. I have to wear real pants for this new job 😭😭😂

Atlas IS a big boy. He's already bigger than Arli, who is just a domestic shorthair. She's going on... seven(?) years old now, and Atlas is already about three or four pounds heavier than she is at just over a year old. But the vet says he's at a healthy weight! He also looks bigger sometimes because he's SO FLOOFY. SO FUCKING FLOOFY. But he's long, too. Like, very long. But his tail is kinda short. (hehe. i'm a child for laughing at all the euphemisms that can be made 😂)

The new year has been mostly uneventful so far! I've been trying to spend the time before I start my new job relaxing and catching up on some chores I let fall flat because of my extreme depression 🫠

Good luck with this semester of school! And with your driving lessons! If you don't mind my asking, are you in the states or somewhere else? And do you have a specific reason for not getting your license until now? I know the driving age is different in a few countries, but some people also just choose not to get their license if they don't want/need!

Whenever she does something that reminds him of the Zenins too much. I think her sneer is one, oddly enough. Like, her really mean sneer that literally matches Naobito or Naoya perfectly.

When she speaks poorly of herself or tries to run from a situation when they have a disagreement. As their relationship develops now that they're together, I can see her avoidant personality really bothering him.

Little ones I think could include silly things like how much detergent she uses when washing clothes, how she hangs her shirts in the closet once they've moved in together completely... I'll probably think of more as time goes on?? maybe??

It was a beautiful day in the boiling isle, you got out of bed and did your normal daily routine, but during it, you couldn't help your two best friends Luz and Amity, they were acting really strange since a week ago when your classmate confessed to you, and when you made a Grudgby team with your other friends, Kamora and Denndy, you said you'd think about it but it scared you! But you got your mind of it and went to school, but before you could open up the door your best friends showed up

"Hey Y/N how are you? Are you okay do you feel well?!"

"Amity give him some space!"

"Oh right sorry... But Y/N why are you in your school uniform?"

You question them and they said their was a incident at the school again so school is off! You secretly questioned it because you didn't get any information that the school was out but since you didn't have to get thrown in the detention pit again you're completely okay with that!

"But hey can we come in? We have a surprise your you!~"

You agreed, when they stepped inside they gave you a small fairy pie,

you took a bite but it tasted weird... Sleeping nettles..? Was this a prank, but before you could do anything you fell and we're losing consciousness

And with that you fell asleep, but when you woke up, you were in a nice comfy room, but you were tied to a chair you were panicking, you started screaming for help but only two people came, Luz and Amity...

"N-No I'm not, where am I? Did you bring me here?! LET ME GO!!" you tired to get out of the ropes but they were strong (amity got edric to fortify the rope)

They hugged you, Amity even gave you a kiss on the cheek but you didn't want this... You wanted to play Grudgby with your friends! Like Kamora and Denndy ! You wanted to go home!! You stay there for days, maybe a week, only Amity and Luz could see you, but when you heard something but down the door you didn't expected to be your friends! it was your friends!! It was Kamora! And Denndy-

"Dude your here?! You've been missing for 2 weeks!"

"Yeah, and I had to cover your work!!"

You explained the Amity and Luz situation and how they basically kidnapped you, she used magic to cut the rope

"Well I'm here dude, now let's get out of here!! I only managed to get in here bc of butterscotch, but let's get you out of here!!"

Kamora took your hand and started to make their was out of the house, there and antics always put a smile on your face but it wouldn't last for long... Bc when you were outside a abomination grabbed Kamora and Denndy, while you were grabbed by Luz

"Hey let go of us you psychos!!"

"Amor are you okay? Did he hurt you!?"

You tired to get out of Luz's grip but to no avail until

Then a Griffen showed up and started fighting, tbh it was a shit show before you managed to use a electricity spell to get out of their grass before getting to Kamora, then they got on the Griffen

Kamora wasted no time getting up in the air, you were free..! But for how long... But you shook your head, you were with your two friends, you new best friends...

BLUIE, I have found a new way to torture Scar hehe (my friend was deeply concerned when he read it, but he doesnt understand the appeal to torture your blorbos) (tw: character death and suicide, i guess... it's zombie apocalypse ladies and gents and everyone in between)

So, basically, this is all the wonderful ideas i've seen from Vex hybridation theories, white hair Scar and the trauma of TCD. The way it would start is baby Scar (12 yo) and his mom live in the TCD world (his mom is a vex hybrid and his dad is like... evoker or smth, idk, havent figured out that part yet), and so, the reason why theyre in the TCD is bc his mom wanted to get away from the mansion she came from and wanted to protect her little grub (yes she calls him "my little grub", that term grew on me).

So, ofc, it's TCD, so, zombie apocalypse. So, they both pack their things and go north (totally not basing this on that they're in hypothetical USA and are going to Canada, no sireeee). And so, his mom is trying to find a way to get out of this world, but later on, she realizes the only way you can get out of this world is to die. Except, theres no guarantee you're either gonna die or you're gonna get infected, and if you get infected, can you truly die? Can you truly jump into another world when you were infected? Many questions, not much answers, huh.

And then time skip where Scar and his mom are running away from a horde of zombies. They find a surveillance tower, but they cant find the entrance. The horde is getting closer and they have no time nor the stamina to outrun them. So, his mom helps him get up on the tower and Scar tries to help her get up, but she just smiles at him and he sees his mom getting either eaten by the zombies or get infected by them. So, more trauma on him, hehe <3

Another time skip, and this time, he is all alone, he has learned he can use vex magic to help him jump higher up buildings, he learned how to keep his vex wings close to his back, not that they were useful with how many tares the zombies did to them. He has his Jellie plushie that he talks to almost all the time, even sees her as a mother figure (trauma hehe). So, he doesn't see that when he uses vex magic, his hair turns white, bc his mom's hair didnt turn white, it turns white bc of the dad side of things, the evoker and stuff, so, his vex magic has a mix of evoker magic and stuff. Also, his hair turns white whenever he thinks too much of his mom, like its a trauma response from his brain to use his vex magic to make it less painful.

Anyways, he meets a group of ppl and doesn't feel so alone anymore, so, his hair is back to its regular colour and the group called him "Scar" bc it was the name of his gun he found on a dead body and hes like, their best shooter. So, that group teaches him how to treat injuries (with a fuck ton of morphine and some medical technics), and just how to survive better than just eating protein bars and finding resources from dead bodies and from empty stores.

So, ofc I have to torture him, and make him watch this group die as a horde of zombies attack them, and hes just yelling shooting at zombies, not even noticing hes also hitting the group. So, he spends a couple of weeks alone before he misses a jump while running away from zombies and just shoots himself bc he doesn't want to get infected.

Um... I have more, but um... this got long... don't worry, hes gonna get his comfort in Kingdom Craft and with the Hermits. I just... didn't realize this was getting long. And it's been circling my head for too long. Idk if i'm gonna write a full fledge fic, but this... I just want to torture my blorbo, is that too much to ask?

I didn’t get to play that event- so what I know about it is spotty at best. Just that it’s in Inazuma, had Xinyan I think? And that Childe was there. And the little paper dude. I’m genuinely curious about what insights you gained from the event into his character- and I’d love to hear you talk about Childe more.

so the outline is basically as u said, but like. to summarize it w some particular details mentioned since they Do matter (sorry it got giga fucking long bc i think the full context is helpful for discussing childes parts too lmao). but here goes:

so a mysterious domain has appeared out of thin air on narukami island with monsters spewing out from within into the countryside. now this is an Issue (TM) bc timeline-wise this is still v much the immediate aftermath of the inazuma AQ and the civil war - the nation & esp the tenryo commission rly isnt in ideal shape resource and manpower wise to deal w another crisis like this and it has sara rightfully tense after the initial waves of the monsters were finally forced back. she kinda cant afford to send her men to scout inside the domain (it also kinda. opens and closes and reopens at random which is another issue for potential scouts) but if nothing is done to stop the monsters she must commit to a full on assault to destroy the domain to remove the threat & shes more or less on a timer with that. making it quite the precarious situation for her politically too and not just security wise. (keep this in mind)

how we end up being asked to investigate the place has to do w the. im ngl p convoluted xinyan b plot basically she was invited to a music festival as a performer but it was cancelled so now she lacks the travel permits she needs and getting new ones is Not fast without some inside help. we agree to look for sara so she could argue xinyans case, run into her dilemma w the domain and she agrees to expedit the process if we investigate the place in her forces' stead. (xinyan the civilian tags along for some reason too)

first time u go in, u find the paper dude (kind of an enchanted paper familiar of sorts) aka shiki taishou outside who has lost his memory yet is undoubtedly connected to the domain which is obviously a bit suspicious given the whole. monster spewing into the neighborhood deal. but idk she passes xinyans music vibe check so she argues we should help him recover his memories and in turn discover the truth of the domain along the way.

once we get inside the domain we obviously run into mr. worldwide himself including but not limited to a closeup of his crotch during his introduction for some reason. yeah its been nearly 3 years these things you cant unsee. that and the sending us sausage in his bday mail. like bruh

now childes (as he eventually divulges) in inazuma to look for traces of scara who ran off w the gnosis and happened to stumble into this strange domain with weird vibes. he thought it might be something relevant and waltzed in, proceeded to get locked inside (as the domain shifted) and beat the shit out of all the monsters there all the while having the time of his life bc hes simply built different. bc turns out the place is basically just a full-on sparring simulator for warriors that seems to be running by itself w no one overseeing it ever since the domain resurfaced cue the "pratice targets" aka monsters running wild

dont wanna recap the entire thing in detail but basically. firstly childe kinda improvs another new identity as an adventurer noticing xinyans liyuen attire bc Osial Incident and picking up the awkward energy we have at the realization of. this might be messy if we tell her. and xinyan buys it and nicknames him "red" w/e. so thats why the harbinger thing doesnt become a bigger conflict

he then informs us that all the monsters within the domain turn into torn paper charms when destroyed and that there are "replicas" of shiki taishou strewn about the domain that should restore his power and hopefully memories over time.

so we end up going thru the place helping shiki taishou gather his power and uncover the nature of the place. he kind of has an identity crisis happening bc all the monsters the place is generating seem to imply he was created for some nefarious purpose as a weapon of some sorts (childe says some Very Interesting Things in response as an attempt at pep talk. will get to it).

but TLDR what we do discover is actually that the shikigami/paper magic and the domains functions were basically a system invented after the domains creator harunosuke studied similar adeptal techniques in liyue in order to create the shikigami as these battle partners for samurai fighting against monsters from the cataclysm. these paper dolls could then record and replicate the monsters it and its partner fought in order to train others inside the domain so that inazumas protectors would always be ready to face such a threat if it ever came to be. shiki taishou was created as the "overseer" of this domain and its functions as a training facicility. by regaining his memories and finding clarity in his purpose shiki taishou gains control over the place again and is able to shut down its rogue functions so that it no longer poses a threat. he then promises to improve upon its workings by taking it to dormancy again. sara is relieved that the crisis could be averted without costing her manpower or further resources she doesnt have. yippee

So. yeah that took way too long mb jdwhjwdjdwadwaj but. Childe.

so there are a particular standouts in here in my opinion.

for one that is less like. a characterization aspect but more of a "gotcha" confirmation thats very nice to have is that he explicitly confirms that wherever in the abyss he spent those 3 months at 14, it DID involve places tied to the irminsul and its roots.

fissures between great tree roots u say?????? Inch resting ajax. tell me more abt the trees king.

also this monologue is literally so fucking sexy in general i love his single-minded pursuit of something as like. quintessentially simple as just. Improvement. but bc he has literally 0 fucking chill in his boundless hunger for that one singular ambition it alone is enough to disrupt the gravity of the world around him....... (but we will get to that)

Anyway. another Very good fucking moment from him character-wise is during the 2nd act. where weve spoken w sara about the tense situation after the 1st day of investigation ended w all of us minus childe (who got "trapped" inside the same way a child gets "trapped" inside a free-for-all candy store with all amenities included. he had a blast) getting thrown out and the domain rearranging itself again. and like we go back in once the entrance opens and are even more eager and restless to start figuring things out bc again. sara is on a timer.

and then .

guys im pretty sure theres a twitch emote for this???? something starting with C and ending with AUGHT?

he reads the shit out of us trying to all "subtly" push for the investigation to proceed so the crisis we are actually tasked to investigate can be solved. like this is literally just Actual 5d chess situational awareness and picking up cues from people around him and honing onto exactly whats stirring up in the undercurrent from childe. basically. he just lays onto us like. ah right. this is probably a big problem for that tenryo commission right? such a problem that theyd even ask an outsider to cover their duties... when thatd never happen during regular times right? a conundrum that could get even more problematic if theres a harbinger publicly around... right? oh my bad my bad haha just thinking out loud bestie lets get back to investigating shall we? hahaha

he is such a smart fucking Bastard oh my godddddd bro is out there smelling the traces of societal unrest and any and all weaknesses in a given governing structure like hes a shark tasting like 0,00000001% blood in the water . professional & supernaturally efficient problem causer everyone. this is what he was hired for . i love him

like he is just. incredibly perceptive and so fucking intelligent like especially back in 2.2 where even Bigger of a portion of the fandom (if thats even possible) than today just thought of him as this. stupid fucking baby infant meow meow idiot brainwashed by the tsaritsa and completely owned by zhongli and signora XDDDDDD . seeing this unfold made me so fucking happy abt the way like. yeah HOYO knows what his character is all abt. the fandom can ruin him all the want but the games story isnt going to bend to their will.

so as ive already alluded to prior . the entirety of labyrinth warriors despite it highlighting childes intelligence, attitude, priorities and ambitions in a way thats like. genuinely so fucking good and comes off as natural with no forced sounding exposition or backstory dump . mostly got a fan reception more in the way of . waa waa my baby boy is depressed with sigma PTSD 3.0 with DLC because calling yourself a weapon is self dehumanization and it signals he is suicidal and has no self worth 🥺🥺🥺🥺 he got TRAPPED in the EVIL DOMAIN consisting EXCLUSIVELY of all his favorite activities nonstop he must be feeling so scared i need to hug him my babygirl!!!!!!!!!11!1!1

when its like. ah yes. i have never heard of a motif ever before.

bc like as much as i do genuinely consider it something that more or less can be taken at face value as an Aspect of who childe is (not necessarily the whole of it, just another mask true to a part of his self) . it should still be acknowledge that part of the reason why his dialogue (and the event in general) fixates on the notion of being a "weapon" has to do with shiki taishous character arc.

because thats what he is. and is trying to discover what kind of purpose a discarded (bc harunosuke left the domain abandoned at the end) weapon and tool like himself can even have anymore. and childes lines taking that repeated emphasis of. whats so bad about being a WeaponTM (& expanding on what that means for Him) specifically . are as much about himself as they are just an attempt to communicate his worldview to shiki taishou as a way of pushing him towards solving this identity crisis he has . that paper boy literally Needs to solve in order for the domain to stop malfunctioning.

and like. okay even if we just look at it w/o paper boy. so say childe considers himself a weapon . but what does that mean to him?

which is a shame bc. its so fucking interesting??? i mean. i get that ppl dont know what to make of it bc everyones so fixated on picturing childe as this loyal puppy tsaritsa fanboy who couldnt even deign to imagine discarding allegiances to anyone yet here he is. saying exactly that.

like ive seen ppl be like oh hes trying to Convince himself of this!!!! hes putting up an act!!!!! and its like? no? i dont think this contradicts anything about his character. people just find it uncomfortable because it implies that the things he listed there are not something of any Inherent value to him. which adds up perfectly fine to me but what do i know.

like the way i have always seen this is that it really isnt. oh childe says he isnt actually a loyal person When it matters to him personally and isnt actually invested in fulfilling his duty (as of Right Now, mind you) which would yes seemingly contradict a lot of other things. but really its just that those concepts alone are void to him. you cant stop him from pursuing his ambition by saying its evil. if the tsaritsa ever truly loses his respect and leaves him completely disillusioned in the archon that once was a fellow honorable warrior in his eyes, the concept of "allegiance" will not be able to dissuade him from turning that burning ambition of toppling the heavens towards her throne too. personal respect maybe. a sense of honor. maybe even disdain so extreme that even investing that time into her now is a waste? sure. but like. you get what im trying at? he is way more ambivalent about these things than most people really Want him to be. bc they dont fulfill the hunger that burns at his core.

and it adds up. bc like. his ambition his drive towards battle and bettering himself and becoming a weapon completely unstoppable and irreplaceable that can conquer the world . is his north star. its the singularity that all else about him orbits around. of course silly little concepts like right and wrong will be secondary to that. we just really havent seen a moment where his ambition is in true conflict with the bonds and oaths he has sworn in his current life. but i have a feeling that if and when we do. this line will make a lot more sense lmao

yeah i liked labyrinth warriors!!! very underacknowledged and misrepresented event that had a ton of fun stuff abt childe. i am super normal about these hip and enjoyable aspects of his character as they are explored within this event as the length and contents of this post imply!!!!
