COOL & CREEPY SWEET TREATS FROM HALLOWEENS OF YESTERYEAR -- JONES® SODA EDITION.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on Halloween-themed Spooookiwi and Candy Corn flavored pure cane soda by Jones®, released in 2008.
I never got to try these two flavors, which sucks 'cause they're over a decade old, but I do recall trying a run-of-the-mill blood orange flavor back in 2013, and it was OK, I guess. Anyway, these soda can designs remain awesome, and here are two reviews of these two flavors that I found on Flickr (the second one remains beyond hilarious!):
REVIEWS: "Spooookiwi is a sweet tasting kiwi flavor. Not too sweet, but still too sweet for me."
"Candy Corn is the anti-Christ of soda. It tastes like moldy pancake syrup poured through a dirty sock. Sad, because the Wolf Man is my favorite monster."

BJU Seminary? What's going on with this post for Jim Berg? Did you all fire the editors? I mean, we all know that Jim Berg is "protected®," but why are you saying the quiet parts out loud here?
And no. Jim is nationally® infamous but not as an expert® on anything -- especially addiction. See the GRACEReport.
So here's the text on the page, ftr:
A nationally recognized expert and speaker on addiction in the Biblical Counseling context, Jim Berg was also BJU Seminary’s Dean of Students for an extraordinary three decades. Proof of his infectious joy, resourcefulness and encouragement as a teacher? For 25 years of that time, Dr. Berg regularly attracted 250 students to a 7 am class on leadership. But Dr. Berg is more than a teacher of leaders: he’s a thought leader as well. He has authored 12 books and workbooks – most recently (name of book) – as well as numerous articles in Christian periodicals regarding leadership and, counseling, and discipleship (see www.JimBerg.com). In 2010 he and his wife started a church-based addiction-recovery discipleship ministry, Freedom That Lasts® (www.FreedomThatLasts.com), from his home church, Faith Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina, that is now franchised nationwide. Dr. Berg is also an executive committee board member for the WILDS Christian camp.
Well, I guess cultic religion® is a kind of addiction, so maybe he's an expert® on that.
But look:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's with the "From Database"® and "Also From Database"®? And the "(recent book)"®?
Is this the lowest effort® you all are willing to give?
Yes, all those terms are copyrighted just for you, Jim®!
UPDATE: Since WutBJU has pointed this out, BJU has changed the post:

Movie Review...The Burial
Tumblr media
(5/5) A good court drama movie is like a good boxing movie. Round for round until the tide turns and you get that good knockout. The 2 opposing councils couldn't have been led better with Jurnee vs. Jamie.
I ain't gone like my first impression of Jamie's character was scammer. Southern Baptist peacher/ Lawyer...ain't no way he ain't a scammer. I mean, superficially, he had all the signs saying so, and I was wrong.
The plot and characters kept developing into something that you soon couldn't keep your eyes off from. The simple court matter of character and integrity evolved and revealed something more. The best scene..."Sit yo ass down" had me standing up! With great performances and a great story you don't want to miss this film.
Inspired by true events, when a handshake deal goes sour, funeral home owner Jeremiah O'Keefe (Academy Award® winner Tommy Lee Jones) enlists charismatic, smooth-talking attorney Willie E. Gary (Academy Award® winner Jamie Foxx) to save his family business. Tempers flare and laughter ensues as the unlikely pair bond while exposing corporate corruption and racial injustice in this inspirational, triumphant story.

I've been reading the emperor's new school (or skool) series bible and there's a lot of little details about the characters and just the way the bible itself is written. the thing is 60 pages long and here are bunch of my favourite details from there
EXTENSION: No-callie-me
"Listen everybody, my movie was damn funny. Screw the box office. Did you track the video sales? Boo-yah!"
They still don't explain why Yzma is still in the line for the throne. I'll just say that Kuzco forgot to make it clear she had been fired after the movie. let's be honest, he'd do that.
It says that Kuzco doesn't really know if he likes or hates Kronk, so he mostly just makes fun of him. it's kinda cool that they were aware of their dynamic of "friends but one has and still tries to help get him off the picture"
Malina had a completely different look and was more boy crazy and in love with Kronk to the point he would make her "into a complete puddle of clumsiness"
Most of her character introduction is not from Kuzco's perspective unlike the rest of the characters, and I like to think it's cause someone else had to write it as Kuzco would just drool about her for four pages
Kuzco thinks Chicha is "pretty cool"
Yupi (the baby) was originally named Cuti
Kuzco calls Tipo a devil-child because he could give him puppy-eyes to make him feel guilty. also Tipo tries to outdo Chaca who's an overachiever but is always flawed at his attempts. also he considers Kronk his idol
this picture (that background pattern went way back)
Tumblr media
Kuzco implies he'd like to use a potion to turn into Malina's hair brush (this guy XD)
Yzma's sister was supposed to appear
Yzma's mother had a "Rascal ®" and I don't know what that means
The theme song guy's name is Tom (for his voice actor Tom Jones)
The new village leader was considered as a possible villain who wanted Pacha's hilltop house
it seems kind of implied that Kuzco and Malina might have not ended up together from their original dynamic, so they changed some stuff like taking away Malina's crush for Kronk and listening to feedback about showing more of "Kuzco’s softer side and his struggles with interpersonal relationships"
Mr Purutu was a "Depressing, downer of a fella who sees no reason to strive for academic success in this oppressive monarchy." I don't remember if that's still the case in the final product

Amazon’s New Christmas Campaign Shows How Joy is Made in Heart-warming Story About a Father’s Love, Directed by Academy Award® Winner Taika Waititi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LONDON –– 00.01a.m. –– 14th November 2022 –– Amazon today launches its 2022 global Christmas advert, directed by Academy Award® winner Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Love and Thunder). Telling the story of a child’s affection for a festive snow globe and a father’s plan to create joy for his child by making a life-size version of this prized possession, the ad explores the idea that during the festive season, ‘joy is made’.
The full-length ad opens on a father and daughter in their house at Christmas, and we quickly learn the little girl doesn’t like to be parted from her much-loved snow globe. As the father comes to realize the importance of the snow globe to his child, he is inspired to do something very special. With a little help from the community, and the purchase of a simple paper shredder on Amazon which is speedily delivered, the father sets out to create a life-size version of the child’s favourite toy.
The ad ends with the unveiling of the family’s greenhouse, transformed by Dad into a magical snow globe, complete with a teddy bear dressed as a snowman, swirling snow created by shredded recycled paper and borrowed desk fans, and a mass of magical fairy lights. Once inside, the child is mesmerized. The big reveal demonstrates a father’s love through his resourcefulness and inventiveness, determined to make his child’s Christmas a magical experience. The advert ends with the simple message: “Joy is made”
“We’re constantly inspired by the inventive spirit of Amazon customers and we wanted to tell a story with a different view of generosity and giving at Christmas, and the joy from doing something special for someone you love," said Ed Smith, EU GM of Marketing at Amazon. "We’re happy to play a small part in the creation of that joy, but the hero of the story is a father's love for his child.”
The advert, produced by advertising agency Lucky Generals and production company Hungry Man, was directed by Academy Award® winning writer, director, and actor Taika Waititi. Originally from New Zealand, Waititi's recent credits include Thor: Love and Thunder and Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit, indie films Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows, Boy, and the Oscar® nominated short film Two Cars, One Night.
The father is played by New Zealand born Australian actor Jared Turner and the child is played by Anouk Christiansen.
The song featured is “You Hold Me Up”, a new release by US Indie artist The Bones of J.R. Jones. Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Jonathon Linaberry created the original track as a way of showing support beyond just conversation to a friend who was going through a tough time.
“We were inspired collaborating with Taika Waititi on this year’s TV advert. The passion he had for telling the story of a relationship between father and child, with his trademark charm, and the casting choices he knew would deliver that story, was paramount,” said Jo Shoesmith, Head of Global Creative, Amazon.
