Back before we assembled the first prototype of our Centrifugal Boiler, we discovered a phenomenal effect of centrifugal force on mechanical motion while testing this device. It turns out that pressure that is generated under influence of centrifugal force on hydraulic oil can be transformed into mechanical rotation of rotor if oil is directed through nozzles located at a certain angle against axis of rotation. Such a sad face, but so cute. Those staunch, little arms. . Frogfish are members of the anglerfish family. They can change colour to blend in with their surroundings, and they allow themselves to be covered in algae so they can become almost invisible to predators and prey but unlike cuttlefish and octopus. it’s not an instant change. It can take days and even weeks for a color change to occur. . Frogfishes can swim with strokes of the caudal fin but they also use jet propulsion. Look closely, you can see this one rhythmically gulping water and forcing it out through their gill openings, also called opercular openings, which lie behind and under their pectoral fins. . Most of the time they sit, motionless waiting to strike with a “lure” which is a fine antennae which stems from the top of its head. It dangles its bait-like looking appendage directly in front of its mouth to attract prey – hence the other common name of “anglerfish”. When frogfishes have prey in front of them they are incredibly fast to open their mouths and they suck in their prey whole, without chewing. they can do so in 6 milliseconds flat.
