Uraraka really said hug me brother to toga. They decided to hug it out now that she is no longer gonna do a mass murder. It is a cute way to end this conflict.

Over the years I have found that actors who are great friends for real life have the best chemistry onscreen. You can't manufacture that kind of chemistry. It's just natural. The physicality. The effortless comfortability they have around each other. The fire chemistry. These couples are James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Lenz from One Tree Hill who were great friends for real and are still close to this day. They've been to many comic cons and the chemistry is still on full display at these events (Nathan and Haley), Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes from Dawson's Creek dated for real life and remained friends even after breakup. Josh said that Katie was his closest friend on set (Pacey and Joey), Jaleel White and Kellie Shanygne Williams from Family Matters were friends onset and Kellie recently said how she had a crush on Jaleel. They recently were reunited in an interview and their chemistry is still fire (Steve and Laura), Tom Welling and Erica Durance from Smallville were great friends. I love to hear Tom talk about Erica because there's clearly so much respect and love between them. They really loved to work with each other (Clark and Lois), Kennedy McMann and Alex Saxon from Nancy Drew are great friends. I don't know much else about their relationship. I just know that Kennedy has said they are close friends and also Kennedy is a big supporter of the Nace ship. I've also heard of little improvs and story ideas that they came up with for Nace so they clearly are very simpatico (Nancy and Ace), Erin Moran and Scott Baio from Happy Days dated on and off through the years (Chachi and Joanie), Rachel Brosnahan and Luke Kirby from The Marvelous Mrs Maisel are amazing friends. And this is another situation of two actors who really support each other and have a huge amount of respect for each other (Midge and Lenny) what all these couples have in common is that they are friends and/or romantically involved. One or both of the actors in each ship are major supporters or shippers of their characters together, they all have had amazing chemistry all through the years even after the shows ended, they all respect each other as actors and each other's talents, they all have fire chemistry that remained strong through the entire run of the shows, and insane physicality where they are so comfortable with each other and and great at adding little physical intimacies to their fictional relationships.
Some chemistry you can sort of manufacture. You can create the long looks, the stolen glances, the yearning, the jealousy. But then there's the upper echelon of TV couples that just have it all. They have all these things but the chemistry endures past the yearning stage 💖
Then there are some couples who maybe weren't overly close. They either hated each other or just got along but weren't super close and those couples mostly have that manufactured chemistry and I'm not saying that it doesn't take talent to do that. It takes acting talent and some of it is genuine. Also this chemistry is not bad. I love the long looks and the stolen glances but these types of couples need long ass slowburns because some of that naturally goes away when they get together like the yearning and stolen glances for instance. They don't have those crutches to fall back on and all they have is that little bit of genuine chemistry. I do wanna clarify that I have always hated when writers make couples on and off unnecessarily. Give them the slowburn but keep them together once they get together you cowards lol
There are other couples with insane chemistry who are close for real life but I had to end this post sometime but they exist and those are special ships to be sure! 💗

Ellen Travolta Returns to General Hospital
Looks who’s coming back for the holidays! None other than, Ellen Travolta will reprise her role as Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) mother, Gloria Cerullo, in upcoming episodes of General Hospital.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Travolta will be back in the role she originally played from 1994-1996 for a guest stint on the ABC daytime drama series come Thanksgiving.

In real-life, Ellen has remained close with Rena Sofer, since the very first time they worked together. In story, Gloria Cerullo was not happy with Lois’ choice of a musician boyfriend. How will she feel if she sees that “Eddie Maine” is back in Lois life in some capacity in 2023?
TV and film audiences also know Travolta well from her roles on Happy Days, Joanie Loves Chachi and in the movie Grease where she appeared alongside her brother, John Travolta.

I have to speak my truth. Will’s sexual awakening would not be River Phoenix. He looks waaaaaayyy too much like Jonathan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I am convinced Will would be into Scott Baio, who, in 1983 starred in the Happy Days spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi and was attempting to be a musician, and in 84 starred in Charles in Charge. Poor Will, watching horrendous tv and not understanding why it’s so compelling, until suddenly you put two and two together and get gay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mike would secretly like River Phoenix though until 1994 roles around and James Spader plays Daniel Jackson in Stargate. He’d be like “why do I have cuteness aggression about this guy who played jerks all through my teen years”

On Tuesday night, Jan. 15, 1974, Fonzie, Ralph, Richie and Potsie entered our living rooms for a visit that would end up lasting more than a decade.
Created by Garry Marshall, “Happy Days” arrived as a comic but earnest chronicle of adolescence in 1950s Milwaukee. It revolved around Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard) and his equally hormonal pals — Warren “Potsie” Weber (Anson Williams) and Ralph Malph (Donny Most) — along with the rest of the Cunninghams: Richie’s younger sister, Joanie (Erin Moran); mother, Marion (Marion Ross); and father, Howard (Tom Bosley).
In the 1976-77 season, “Happy Days” became the most-watched show on television, supplanting “All in the Family.” It ran until the summer of 1984, a total of 11 seasons, while generating multiple spinoffs — “Laverne & Shirley,” “Mork & Mindy,” “Joanie Loves Chachi” — and untold tons of Fonzie merchandise.

Hey,
it's a bit of a wild guess, but: 🎉 Happy birthday 🎂
If I'm right, don't worry, I'm not a stalker, it's just that I noticed your name (the previous one) when we first interacted, and then I went to your blog and saw your "bio", and, well, look at both of mine :-)
Hi There! I'm so sorry, I'm just now seeing this. I'm logged in on my MacBook today and this ask did not show on my mobile app for some reason, have to look into that!
But at any rate, thank you! Although, my bday is actually April 16, so I had used 1677 as numbers for my handle to represent the month and year. But looking at yours now, I can see the connection! Love it!
Genie is a nickname of mine for ages, courtesy of my hubby and I never know what to use when making up a handle or username so I first went with Genie1677. But recently, since I'm in my 40's and old enough to remember, the 80's show "Joanie Loves Chachi" randomly popped into my head for some reason and I thought of "Genie Loves Larry" being a funny handle to use since I do love those two so stinking much, haha!
Anyway, this is my first "ask" or message so thanks for that and for the birthday wish! Appreciate both so much, friend!

Ok, a few things:
1. Polite IS cool…
2. Fonzie loves his teeth, and his teeth love him.
3. Where does Fonzie keep an extra toothbrush in his tight jeans?
4. Why isn’t he brushing at home, instead of in a dirty public restroom like Arnold’s?
5. Why are they enjoying it so much? The screaming of it all… I must be missing something when I brush…
6. They both look like they are the last people in the world who would be having a discussion like this.
7. How do they know each other anyway?
8. Arthur is Fonzie’s real name, so shouldn’t they call him “Arty”?
9. When Fonzie was a baby, do you think he had the same “cool guy affect” like he did in the show? Ayyyy…. (Two tiny thumbs up)
10. Why isn’t there a “grandma fonzie” on the show?
11. Why was it normal to have a Martian from Ork come down and ingratiate himself into their lives?
12. Also, piggybacking off that last question, why was the Mork Martian speaking English, and able to nanuuu nanuu to them, and they didn’t really bat an eyelash. I mean, Richie was the most accepting, even tempered person. If I were to have run into Mork in my home, I would’ve probably not have trusted him because he was a man in a shiny space suit that came into my living room uninvited and talked too fast… Also, I think he hatched out of an egg…
13. Why did Fonzie jump a shark?
14. There were a few Al’s on the show. Were they biological brothers? Because what are the odds of having a couple of owners of Arnold’s named Al? And if so, why were both of the brothers named Al? Why weren’t they Arnold’s?! Or was it like George foreman’s family, where they’re all named George but except they’re Al’s? And why was one Japanese?
I probably have more questions that I may or may not pose here later, we’ll see… because the whole Laverne and Shirley thing, and how they wanted people to think that “Carmine”, the dancing crooner busboy at Laverne’s father’s bowling alley, was a heart throb, because to me, he was entirely too jazz hands-y and way too needy. When you can’t go two minutes without tap dancing, singing to people who clearly aren’t into it, doing cartwheels and round off flip flops trying to get into a show, any show, that’s too much for me. Get another outlet for that business, ok? Why didn’t he take up a hobby? Something cool, like fire swallowing?
George Carlin: um, Kari?
Kari: No.
Kari (cont.): It’s like, “Listen, Carmine, I don’t own a theater, nor do I have any ties to Hollywood. Why don’t you go shuffle off to Buffalo and take a connecting flight to someone who cares!”
Carlin: oh shit….
Kari: Or how about how Fonzie controlled inanimate objects and simple minded people with his snapping?! Yes to that! And what about the whole Joanie and chachi thing… Because did you know that they had to change his name in Korea cause chachi meant the chach area down there in the men’s Netherlands region?
And did you also know that I call it “chachies” when I have to quickly use the restroom after eating some fried, greasy, extremely spicy food, or something riddled with lactose. So, for example I’ll yell from the potty to anyone in the house within earshot, “I got the chachies!!!!”
Regardless of those unanswered questions, I liked that show, because although it was slow paced and slightly uneventful some of the time other than the shark, they sure brought the younger me some childhood “happy days”. 🤷‍♀️🙌🤣
Carlin: you done?
Kari: not sure yet… ok. Now I’m done.
Gary Marshall: hi, I’m Gary Marshall. I wrote this crap, or, as kari would say, this “chachies” of a show.
Kari: No! I liked the show, Gar… it was a staple of my childhood. It’s just that “Chachi” happened to be an unfortunate choice in names, that’s all…
Gary Marshall: See?! She’s not mean, she’s only discussing the characters, not the actors… And I didn’t know from Chachi when I wrote it.
Kari: well, now you do. And naming one of your characters after a peep is not ok to the Korean people.
Richard Pryor: Tell me about it. Try going through life being called “Dick”.
Kari: No! I call you, “Richard head, the eighth!”
Richard Pryor: you mean there were 7 other dicks that had the same name before me?!
Kari (to Richard) Yes. (to Gary Marshall): And Gary, the show is not crap. It made a lot of people happy. And nothing made with love, is crap!
Gary Marshall: thank you, Kari. At least I didn’t write a sitcom called, “chachi has chachies”.
Kari: yeah! Cause no….
Gary Marshall: she’s a good kid. Crazy, but good.
Scene.

@girllaura said she can't stop crying. This post is for you, but also all carylers that are having a really hard time right now.
Tumblr media
There are many reasons to be upset, but we all seem to be upset for different reasons, which may or may not all be valid.
1) No Carol in spinoff
2) If there is no Carol in spinoff, that must mean 11c isn't going full acknowledgement (that's the word I personally use cause they are already friggin' canon!)
3) somebody must have screwed someone over
4) AMC is covering for it
Tumblr media
Those are the reasons I can think of, keeping in mind the reactions I've seen and what's going on now. Imma tackle these issues one by one.
1) While I personally think Daryl spinoff with Daryl alone is not a good idea (maybe a very limited series with much less than ten episodes), I have to say that I don't mind, as long as 11c ends well and "happy" for now.
In my opinion franchises often spread themselves and the fans' supposed interest too thin, thinking $$$$$$$ instead of quality. Spinoffs rarely have that. I wouldn't want a "Joanie loves Chachi" calibre of a spinoff (look it up!), I'd want a Frasier, which not everyone even realizes or remembers was a spinoff. If you're not going to do the spinoff well and with proper writing, don't do it at all.
(Also, how good can the scripts be if they are supposed to write them now and start filming soon? They must have had a plan b, though, is what I think. If they did a short, very limited season of Daryl doing something somewhere before getting back to Carol, I wouldn't mind that. They just can't erase Carol now; that is my worry.)
Tumblr media
2) I have actual fears of TWD pulling a GoT season eight on us, but I choose to have faith. The proper "end" for Daryl and Carol (=Caryl acknowledgement) should happen in the main series anyway, and not the spinoff. Their story is a huge chunk of the original TWD and that is where it should be shown. Any spinoff is just gravy.
Both 11a and 11b tied up pretty much all loose ends standing in the way of Caryl that don't come from their own lack of verbal (!) communication.
Tumblr media
(Carol & co. found Connie, alive. Daryl found Leah, and gave her a chance to back away, but now that's done. Ezekiel was operated on, and he had closure with Carol about Henry and their relationship but it was clear even before it was stated by her that yes, that is over now.) That all cannot be a coincidence. Yes, there are several writers to a season, but when and if writing is good, these things don't happen and line up just by accident. They are heading to said acknowledgement, and they'd really have to pull off a GoT S8 to fail that now. (Still possible, but unlikely.)
3) We have no idea about this, and attacking people about it is plain wrong. Also stupid, because we are being painted as the crazies...and with some of the stuff I've seen (not only in Tumblr) I see their reasoning.
Tumblr media
We can ponder why it is so necessary to shoot in Europe and we can question how wise it is for them to go ahead with it now instead of just waiting, but I'd hate to put any more pressure on the actors and Melissa McBride especially. She seems to have her own, valid reasons (ailing father, I read somewhere?) and that might also be one reason her role in s11 has been smaller than anticipated/hoped.
And I have a very hard time believing this is all Norman's "fault" either. The rumors and "inside information" sound like they're all made up by people who just want to stir shit, and Caryl shit in particular.
Tumblr media
It's important to recognize the source of these feelings and to turn them into actual words. Is it because there is no Carol in spinoff or is it because we feel we have been duped and strung along? (Even gaslighted?) There is still 11c to come. Only after that can we, IMO, say we have been. As of now jury is still out.
4) I don't even know what to say to this one. As a big company I'm sure AMC is used to spin doctoring etc, but I don't see a conspiracy here, at the moment.
Everyone is entitled to their feelings, and that I truly believe in. It's the way those feelings are expressed sometimes that may turn problematic.
Tumblr media
I wish you all strength and patience, and hope. Keep on keeping on!

The animated Happy Days spinoffs (who knew there were so many talking animals in the 50s?)
Tumblr media
(Thanks to wikipedia)
[All images are owned by Hannah-Barbara or Paramount. Please don’t sue me]
Tumblr media
(Thanks to the New York Times)
For those who do not know, Happy Days was a sitcom from the mid-70s through the mid-80s about the Cunningham family and their lives in the 50s and early 60s in the city of Milwaukee. The star of the show is the oldest son Richie (played by Ron Howard) He and his friends Ralph Malph and Warren “Potsie” Webber had all sorts of mundane adventures until they encountered...
Tumblr media
(Thanks to The Times)
...Arthur “The Fonz” (or “Fonzie”) Fonzerelli (played by Henry Winkler), who would become Richie’s best friend. Fonzie was the epitome of “cool”, able to do supernatural things with just his "coolness”.
youtube
(Thanks to Ant Man)
But this isn’t about Happy Days per se. You see, when a show is successful, producers want to cash in on the show’s success by making new shows in the same “universe” (There were four shows “spun off” from Happy Days) Some are based on existing characters (such as Joanie Loves Chachi, which was about Richie’s sister and her boyfriend) or about characters who were introduced for the express purpose of spinning them off (such as Mork & Mindy)
The former is the case for the first subject of this review (the latter I’ll discuss later)
youtube
(Thanks to generic0001)
(Yes, that’s legendary “oldies” DJ Wolfman Jack narrating the intro. Sadly, that’s his only involvement)
The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang followed...
Tumblr media
...Fonzie, Richie, and Ralph (voiced by Winkler, Howard, and Donny Most, whom longtime will remember also voiced Eric the Cavalier) as they are dragged into a “Gilligan’s Island, time travel edition” style show.
Tumblr media
For whatever reason, the writers added a talking dog named “Mr. Cool” as comic relief. Most fans of the show were very confused as Fonzie had a dog on the show named Spunky.
Tumblr media
...who looks nothing like Mr. Cool.
Mr. Cool thought that, since he was the Fonz’s dog, he had Cool Powers too, but far from it. Nearly every time he tries using them it spelled disaster.
Tumblr media
Piloting the time machine is Cupcake (they have weird names in the future. Are her parents named Bundt and Cheese?) who has no clue how the damn thing works.
If you would like to watch this show, it’s available on KissCartoon.
Now on to the final spinoff...
Tumblr media
Laverne & Shirley was a sitcom followed best friends...
Tumblr media
...Laverne DiFazio (played by Penny Marshall. For whatever reason, Laverne needed to have a giant L embroidered on everything she wore) and Shirley Feeney (played by Cindy Williams) as they went through life in another part of Milwaukee (and later, for some reason, Los Angeles)
However, what I’m here to cover is the spinoff of the spinoff (which was paired with The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang, naturally)
youtube
Yes, for whatever reason, the girls decide to join the army. Thing is, there was an episode of the main series where they did that very thing.
Tumblr media
Meet Sgt. Plout (played by Carol Burnett Show alum Vicki Lawrence), who would’ve made a better foil in the animated series than...
Tumblr media
...their Commanding Pig, Sgt. Squealy (though I’m not sure why he has Private stripes). Hell, they could’ve made Plout a frog (since Shirley commented Plout resembled one) if they REALLY wanted a talking animal.
The episodes involved Laverne, Shirley, and Squealy dealing with all sorts on nonsense that had almost nothing to do with Army life.
If you would like to watch this train wreck, it’s also available on KissCartoon
If you would like to see an episode from either series reviewed, let me know!

I’ve been thinking about my trajectory of shipping in my life.  The first couple I can remember ‘shipping’, as in they weren’t together on the show and I wanted to see it happen, was Joanie and Chachi on Happy Days.   They would eventually get married in the final season.
As I got a little older, I started liking more ‘grown up shows’.   Scarecrow and Mrs. King started a love for crime solving partnerships, it would lead to Hunter and DeeDee, then Harm and Mac.
Bickering co-workers started with Tony and Angela from Who’s The Boss, which would lead to Rebecca and Sam from Cheers and then to Donna and Josh on The West Wing, and Chandler and Monica from Friends.
I was really invested in online fandom from about 1999-2007.   By that time, I had 4 kids and not a lot of time to focus on watching anything.
Sometime in the spring of 2018, I got so fed up with the usual posts on Twitter and Facebook being about politics and how terrible the world was.  At that time I had also become really, really invested in Lyatt (Timeless), in a way I hadn’t been since Harm and Mac in 1998.  I found my way to Tumblr, and that led me to Bellarke (The 100).   You’ll notice I have now given them a shipper name, when I was first in fandom we didn’t do shipper names.
But, since falling back into fandom, (and the huge exception to this is Naley)  I have since become obsessed with the hero/villain concept.  Darklina, Damerya, Haladriel!  I mean my hubs and my kid have been on me for 20 years to watch LOTR, and I haven’t yet!   And now my latest obsession seems to be Chuck and Blair!    I can’t help but wonder what it says about me that the older I get the more I seem to fall for the bad guy in the scenario.  I was never that way in the past.
