“Tour of Duty” s1e14 (1988)

Fantastic episode.
The action in the final third, as Firebase Ladybird is completely overrun by the enemy, is as intense as any ever shown in the entire series.
A regular character is killed off and guest star Kristoffer Tabori is excellent as an ambitious and obnoxious new captain. One who repeatedly ignores the grave danger they are all in.

Henry Baskerville (Kristoffer Tabori ) returns to his ancestral home and is confronted by a very gloomy Baskerville Hall. In a moment of contemplation he looks up at the paintings on the walls, many family portraits which look down on him in the semi-darkness. Also high up on the light green walls is a copy of Madonna della Seggiola by High Italian Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino. It was painted between 1513–1514 and depicts a humanistic Madonna and Christ child. Perhaps I’m probably projecting but I feel that Henry is considering what family means to him and that he is the last of his line so to speak. My main reason for thinking this is because the painting is of a realistic style, focusing on human motherhood in addition to the theological representation. That, coupled with his very thoughtful, intense gaze.

Newspaper Comics Fancast, Part 2
The recent news of ten new Star Wars film projects made me imagine how I would adapt some of my favorite comics. Yesterday I cast characters from Russ Manning’s run of the newspaper comics; today, here are some of the fantastic characters from the Archie Goodwin + Al Williamson run.
For the newspaper comic adaptation, it would be a lot of fun to see a light-hearted micro-series, similar to Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars (my favorite Star Wars media). It could even be animated, with Russ Manning’s season in a rounder style and Archie Goodwin + Al Williamson’s in a sharper one. It could also be really cute in live-action; I imagine it with a retro, low-budget aesthetic.

So, this is what Peter Elbling (aka Harold Oblong) from “Phantom of the Paradise” could tell me about the one time he worked with Victor in 1972 at the Mark Taper. :D
“First let me thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot to me. I love that you're a fan of Victor's. He deserves a lot more fans, he was a wonderful actor and totally fearless.  I remember best the scene in which he and Prince Hal switched roles. When he pretended to be Hal, he had a tantrum and threw himself onto the floor, all three hundred pounds of him. Whenever I saw him do it I would think, he's go to hurt himself but as far as I know he never did.  We had one wonderful scene together, I wish it had been recorded because it was very funny. I was shaving him, I stood behind him and he lifted his chin so I could shave his neck and then lowered it while I shook off the lather. We did that twice and on the third time, he didn't lift his head so my knife took his top knot off. When Victor saw the possibilities he had the top of his head shaved and a false piece made so that now when I swiped the top knot literally came off with my knife. The audience fell out of their chairs. For the rest of the scene I kept trying to hide the topknot, under a tankard of beer, behind my back, etc., and every time Victor nearly saw it. Somehow I managed to escape the scene without Victor noticing. Until at the very last moment he bowed his head and Mistress Quickly, the owner of the tavern, kissed the top of his head and suddenly Victor realized his top knot had gone. The audience went into hysterics.  We didn't socialize outside of the play but working with him was a joy and watching him work was an education.”
