LYUDMILA PAVLICHENKO

Nacida el 12 de julio de 1916, Lyudmila ( o Liudmila) Pavlichenko fue una de las primeras generaciones que vivió la URSS prácticamente desde su nacimiento.

Su infancia transcurrió en una pequeña localidad ucraniana, donde asistió a la escuela y empezó a mostrar una gran competitividad en actividades físicas, en particular cuando se enfrentaba a los chicos de su edad.

Desde pequeña quiso demostrar que las chicas podían hacerlo igual o mejor que ellos.

En 1930, la familia decidió trasladarse a Kiev, la actual capital de Ucrania. Con 14 años, Liudmila empezó a trabajar en la Arsenal Factory, una fábrica histórica de producción y reparación de armamento del Ejército Rojo.

La propia empresa ofrecía opciones de ocio a sus trabajadores y, tras dejar el curso de aviación, Pavlichenko optó por formarse en un club tiro, su primer contacto con las armas. De él salió con la insignia de Tirador de Voroshílov, un certificado de los conocimientos y la preparación adquiridos que incluían formación en otras habilidades del ámbito militar.

Al mismo tiempo que trabajaba, Liudmila Pavlichenko terminó la secundaria y se matriculó en la Universidad de Kiev para cursar la carrera de historia con la intención de convertirse en maestra. Justo había aceptado un trabajo en la Biblioteca de Odesa que le permitiría terminar su tesis cuando, en junio de 1941, Hitler lanzó las primeras ofensivas de la Operación Barbarroja, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945). La Alemania nazi pretendía seguir su imparable avance por el territorio soviético.

Inmediatamente, se presentó como voluntaria para ingresar en el Ejército Rojo, y parece ser que el hecho de ser mujer le puso los primeros obstáculos. Sin embargo, la insistencia de Pavlichenko hizo que el oficial de reclutamiento comprobara sus credenciales, tras lo cual fue admitida y destinada a la 25ª División de Fusileros del Ejército Rojo como francotiradora. 

No fue la única. Alrededor de 2.000 mujeres desempeñaron el mismo rol en las tropas soviéticas, aunque solo 500 de ellas sobrevivieron a la guerra, y solo Liudmila alcanzó el récord por el que sería recordada.

Uno de los puntos calientes de la ofensiva alemana fue el tramo sur de la frontera rusa señalado por el río Prut, actualmente línea fronteriza de Rumanía. Allí fue enviada su unidad que, tras resistir los primeros envites, se vio obligada a retirarse hasta Odesa, donde Liudmila participó en su primera batalla. Fue herida a los diez días de combate y evacuada al hospital donde se recuperó para volver a reincorporarse. Al regresar al frente, había sido ascendida a cabo y al término del asedio de la ciudad, aunque la deshecha soviética era una realidad, Pavlichenko había causado 187 bajas al enemigo: su nombre empezaba a convertirse en una leyenda.

Mientras el número de enemigos abatidos por ella aumentaba, sus misiones se volvían más arriesgadas. A veces debía contraatacar el fuego enemigo de un francotirador, y se vio inmersa en duelos directos. En una ocasión, pasó tres días enfrentada a un francotirador alemán al que finalmente también abatió.

Fue herida por fuego de mortero en junio de 1942 en Sebastopol y trasladada al hospital para recuperarse. A esas alturas, Lyudmila era ampliamente conocida también en las filas nazis, por lo que se convirtió en un objetivo militar y empezó a ser apodada como Lady Death (Lady Muerte) por la prensa extranjera. No era para menos, ya que después de menos de dos años en activo dejaba tras ella 309 enemigos abatidos, entre ellos 36 francotiradores. Era oficialmente una heroína.

Lady Micté as Teca Institute's Principal and Catrina, otherwise known as La Muerte, as the Principal of San Angel High School!

Unaware the principal of Arcadia Oaks High School is a Changeling stuck in his troll form, both arrive there disguised as humans but not like other times, when they hid all traces of their original appearance. This time, they picked looks according to themselves, their relationship as sisters and as principals.

Obviously, Strickler will have the best day of his life. He is in front of two important figures of Mexican history: The glorious Catrina from Jose Posada, the immaculate satyric image of the spanish folk on Mexico. And Micte, Goddess of Death and Queen of the Underworld. He'll fanboy for hours once he's back at home with Barbara, that's for sure.

The sisters travel to Arcadia to dropoff and pick up students everytime the exchange takes place. They're there mostly to settle things and see eye to eye.

Both still retain their divine powers, so when they finally meet Strickler, after some confusion, both change to their original forms.

You know how micte is the goddess of death? There's a species of a mysterious and feared dragon that is called (said to be) the "offspring of lightning and death itself". These are known as night furies. Do you know about night furies? Is there something you wanna talk about?

Yes, indeed, my sister Lady Micte was the goddess of death. The reason she was, is because we as goddesses were assigned a title to follow, Micte's labor was to be the goddess of death; I inherited the Land of the Remembered from our mother and my sister, La Noche, inherited the Land of the Unknown from our father.

The rest of my sisters are also in charge of other tasks as goddesses.

And about the night furies, I have heard about them, I remember that Micte was in charge of guarding those; but since her death, La Noche took charge of doing it and now they live in the Land of the Unknown.

I couldn't tell you more about these creatures, but if you want to know more about them, I recommend that you ask my sister, La Noche.
