Sorry for the lack of drawings, this was supposed to be done a few weeks ago, but as usually I got distracted by the internet and personal drama, as well as writing a long post about the characters.
That being said, I made a series of drawings of my Jojo OC Medea interacting with the Crusaders since there isn’t a lot of them(except as Incorrect Quotes), and as some of you can guess, this takes place during the “Battle of Egypt” arc since she wasn't their ally until then.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jean Pierre Polanreff
- Relationship: Sibling bond - She nicknames him "Frenchie" - Shares a single brain cell with him
- He and Medea actually do get along well as he used to serve(brainwashed) DIO and was dismayed over him "betraying" their Lord, he's a bit more forgiving and patient with her since he knows that DIO's just using her, he does have his breaking points though.
Despite being enemies, she has no problem bonding with him over their enjoyment of Western cartoons such as "Tom and Jerry" and "Looney Toons" during their stay at a Luxor hotel.
Even though he got his revenge, he's still haunted by his late-sister losing her purity and life, and was horrified when he found out that DIO is doing the same to Medea, thus starts fighting tooth and nail to make sure she lives.
She later apologized to Polnareff for treating him like crap when she returns to Cairo with Kakyoin, and thanked him for killing J. Geil as he was horrible towards women, she fights alongside Polnareff and Iggy against Vanilla Ice.
Polanreff became her best man at her's and Keiji's wedding in 1994 and was ecstatic to see her baby girl Noriko, it was the last time she saw him alive. Medea asked Jotaro where he had gone during their drive to S-City, but even he doesn't know where Polnareff is either.
Medea later grieved for him when she found out what became of him during his pursuit for Diavolo and the stand arrows in "Golden Wind".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jotaro Kujo
- Relationship: Enemies to friends - Calls him "Jojo" just to make fun of him as she thought it was a dumb nickname - Battle of the sexist jerks; broken hearted Misandrist vs punk ass Misogynist
- She first assumed that Jotaro was an adult due to his large stature and mature features, only to get caught completely off guard when she realizes that he's actually a 17-year-old highschooler.
Jotaro does the "YAKAMASHI!" and "annoying bitch" schtick when she started doing her villainous monologuing, she asked if he kissed his mother with that mouth, that comment resulted in her ass getting kicked and losing two left molars.
Jotaro was the one who turned her into their mole when they came to Egypt, he kept foiling her murder attempts during the whole true trip. Despite all that, he was furious when he found out that DIO tried to kill her in a similar fashion to Enyaba, wanting to beat the shit of of him right now for it.
After returning to Cairo with Kakyoin, their relationship improved for the better as they no longer fought with each other. Before "DIO's World", Jotaro thanked her for being one of the few women in his life to not squeal at him for being "handsome".
After DIO's defeat, she goes with him and Joseph to Japan and hasn't left since. The two became parent figures to the kids of Morioh during "Diamond is Unbreakable", despite being on good terms now, she can't help but ruffle Jotaro's feathers just for the fun of it.
At some point, he reprimand her for being too distant from her daughter, only to get called out on it as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joseph Joestar
- Relationship: Complicated - Medea slut shames him to high heaven - Joseph had a BSoD moment when he heard Medea gush about the Pillar Men
- She chases him all across Asia for weeks just to get her revenge for "driving away Jason" from her and offer his blood to DIO, fails each time. At some point Joseph told her the reason why they're going after DIO, which throws her off completely as DIO never told her about Holy Kujo.
Despite that, she still chases the Crusaders after DIO gave her one last chance to redeem herself, which pisses off Joseph even more.
After she became their mole in Egypt, he forces her to wear his old breathing mask as a trust bargain as well as keep her under tight ropes, he even rigged it with Hamon so that whenever she removes it, she'll get electrocuted by overdrive(same rules apply to her Stand to).
When she bribed Alessi to age down Joseph, she wasn't expecting him to turn into his younger and sexier self(circa Part 2) and became smitten. Joseph has NEVER let her live it down since then.
It took him an hour to save Medea's life from DIO's blood poisoning thanks to his Hamon. This selfless act made her realize that Joseph, despite his flaws, is willing to help others good and bad, no longer wanting revenge against him.
She would however eventually have the last laugh when she found out that he was sent to the dog house after his affair got exposed in 1999, she also believed that he's faking his senility just to get his "get out of jail free" card.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Muhammad Avdol
- Relationship: Enemies to friends - She was the reason why DIO found him at the Khan el Khalili - He was shocked when he realized that Medea isn't a Tarot Stand user
- After Cameo was defeated, she was shocked to learn that Avdol is alive and well, with him scolding her for harassing the Crusaders despite getting her revenge against Jason, she fled back to Egypt afterwards, having his arrival killing her mood and not wishing to get BBQ'd by [Magician's Red].
At Aswan, when she tries to kill him at the Hospital, Avdol sought out her weakness and told Jotaro to exploit it. While not happy with her murderous plans, he's a lot more patient with her than Polnareff is due to knowing that DIO brainwashed her.
During their trip to Cairo, he was actually pleased when he saw that Medea took an interest in his culture's myths and legends and they ended up talking more over it, even letting slip about the Glory God's Stands and which god they represent.
When she realized what happened, she blamed him for tricking her, which isn't true but he joked about it anyways.
He was the first one to discover that Medea's welts were Vampire bites thanks to Joseph's warning about Vampires and drove her to the hospital. Despite losing their mole, Avdol believed that her health is one of their highest priorities.
When she came back to Cairo, he was happy to know that she's all better. During "DIO's World", she called him crazy when he wanted to burn down the manor due to their friends being inside, she witnessed Vanilla Ice killing him afterwards, traumatizing her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iggy
- Relationship: Enemies to friends - She compares him to her late pet Boston Terrier "Ozzy" - Iggy enjoys messing with her just as how he messes with Polnareff
- She thought that he was a normal dog at first before discovering that he's a Tarot Stand user represented by "The Fool" and instantly regrets it.
She got farted on when he smelled her body oder and called him a "jerk mutt" for that, he also raided her backpack and stole her clothes and sandwiches that she packed for herself, and he kicked her into the Nile river when she tried to attack him.
When Medea got hospitalized for Blood poisoning, Iggy smelled DIO's odor coming off of her welts which scared him into defending himself as he can naturally smell evil like most dogs do, he used [The Fool] to recreate DIO's likeness from that scent alone to show the Crusaders what he smelled, which is how Joseph was able to save her and how Iggy was able to recreate DIO during the Vanilla Ice fight.
Iggy started warming up to Medea after she returned to Cairo as he finally understood the pain she gained from DIO after his encounter with Pet Shop, but he wouldn't admit it, she and Iggy chilled out while everyone was having their last supper together.
She mourned his death and petted his corpse, and calling him a "good boy" for saving her's and Polnareff's lives.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Noriaki Kakyoin
- Relationship: Reconciled friendship - She nicknames him "Cherry boy" - She learned about Morioh because of him
- He was one of the few Agents that she actually became close friends with without hang ups, so Medea was very hurt when he "betrayed" DIO because of the Crusaders.
She tried convincing him to leave them and return to Egypt with her, when he refused, she just went: "...Fine! Die with those bastards then!" in grief induced anger. Kakyoin tried reasoning with her before she began harassing them throughout the journey.
They reconciled when she was hospitalized and they started bonding over their first encounters with DIO, as well as having no real friends until they met the Crusaders.
She kept Kakyoin's Walkman that he left behind at the mansion and used it to listen to his music and learned some Japanese, at some point she bought herself a "Pat Metheny Group" album for it and became attached to "Last Train Home", Medea eventually gave it back to him during their train ride to Cairo.
She cradled his body and grieved for him when DIO murdered him in cold blood. After DIO's defeat, she cried over his retrieved corpse and thanked him for everything he's done for her and the Crusaders.
She kept his cherry earrings as a memento to remember him by. In 1993, she originally planned on naming her future son "Noriaki" when she was pregnant, but ended up getting a daughter instead, whom she names "Noriko".

My 5-Star Review
If you’ve followed my reviews for any length of time, you may know just how much I love this middle grade series. My son and I have both read them all (though he hasn’t yet gotten his hands on this latest one!), and we’ve also read, both separately and out loud together, Mr. Ponti’s Dead City series, which we also love. (He has also read the Framed! series, though I have not.) Naturally I was going to jump at the chance to read and review book four! (You can find my reviews of book one here and book two here.)
While I suppose you technically could read this as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the first three books first -- you’ll get a much better feel for the characters, and they’re totally all worth reading! In each book, a different one of our “city spies” (their codenames are each the cities in which they were found) is the alpha, or leader, of the mission. In book four, it’s Kat’s turn, and she leads in several missions throughout the book, which take the spies from London to Berlin to, ultimately, Cairo and Luxor, Egypt. Kat has always been a favorite character of mine -- she has Asperger’s and is able to see patterns amid all the chaos of life. She’s truly brilliant and refreshingly honest and plain-spoken! The spies continue hot on the heels of Umbra in this installment, and there’s a surprise addition to the City Spies team that no one was expecting. I literally read the entire book in one sitting; I just couldn’t stop flipping the pages!
I highly, highly recommend this series for all middle grade readers (will be especially good for reluctant readers!), as well as anyone who just enjoys a good spy thriller (one appropriate for kids, of course). This installment continues the unbroken string of five-star reviews for each book in the series. And with *that ending*, I can’t wait to read book five!
Rating: 5 stars!
**Disclosure: I received a copy of the book from the publisher for purposes of this blog tour. This review is voluntary on my part and reflects my honest rating and review of the book.

het oude Luxor Theater, De Buren van Grand Hotel Centraal aan de Kruiskade. (sinds 1917)
Dit letterfont past in elke ruimte waar men een boodschap kwijt wil (One Fits All). Het letterfont heet LUXOR.

Over 3,000-Year-Old Royal Tomb Discovered in Egypt's Luxor
— Maria Konokhova | Sputnik International
Luxor, a city in southern Egypt, is particularly famous for its archaeological treasures dating back to the times of the pharaohs. The city is often characterized as the greatest open-air museum, as within its territory lie numerous ancient monuments, temples and tombs.
A joint Egyptian-British mission has found a previously undiscovered ancient royal tomb in the Egyptian city of Luxor, according to the country’s authorities.
The royal tomb was discovered in an ancient site on the west bank of the Nile River, 650 kilometers south of Cairo, Egypt’s capital. The mission consisted of archaeologists from the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the New Kingdom Research Foundation at the University of Cambridge.
Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, highlighted the importance of the recent discovery, stating that based on initial evidence it could be a tomb dating back to the 18th dynasty of pharaonic Egypt, which spanned from 1550/1549 BC to 1292 BC. Archaeologists claimed it could be a tomb of a royal wife or princess.
The information is expected to be verified in the near future as soon as the archaeological documentation of the tomb is gathered. Work at the site is set to continue.

Century of Breakthrough: Egypt Marks 100th Anniversary of Pharaoh Tutankhamun's Tomb's Discovery
According to the director of the Western Valleys archeological site Mohsen Kamel, the tomb's state of preservation is quite poor, as it was partially damaged by floodwaters during ancient times which flooded it with sand and limestone, obliterating its inscriptions.
The tomb is the latest discovery in a series of findings Egypt has recently publicized in a bid to revive its tourism sector, which heavily relies on the country’s ancient treasures. The industry was largely affected by years of political unrest and later by the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a significant drop in the number of tourists visiting the country, and subsequently decreased revenue derived from the sector.
Likely Location of Ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertifi's Tomb Named by Scholar
Tumblr media
King Tut's tomb may be but an outer section of a larger tomb "still occupied" by Nefertiti, if the new theory is to be believed.
The elusive burial chamber of the legendary Ancient Egyptian queen Nefertiti, wife of pharaoh Akhenaten and stepmother of pharaoh Tutankhamen, may be located in a hidden chamber adjacent to the resting place of her regal stepson, The Guardian reports, citing Nicholas Reeves, Egyptologist and former curator in the British Museum’s Department of Egyptian Antiquities.
According to the newspaper, Reeves said that cartouches in the Tutankhamun’s tomb that depict him being buried by Ay, his successor as pharaoh, were apparently painted over cartouches showing Tutaknhamun himself burying his royal predecessor Nefertiti.
“I can now show that, under the cartouches of Ay, are cartouches of Tutankhamun himself, proving that that scene originally showed Tutankhamun burying his predecessor, Nefertiti,” he said. “You would not have had that decoration in the tomb of Tutankhamun.”
Reeves postulated that the tomb of King Tut is but an outer section of a larger tomb “prepared for and still occupied by” Nefertiti, claiming back in 2015 that high-resolution images of Tutankhamun’s tomb displayed possible evidence of plastered unexplored doorways.
“We’ve always been puzzled by Tutankhamun’s tomb because of its strange shape. It’s very small, and not what we’d expect of a king,” he said.
The new evidence is expected to be included in Reeves’ new upcoming book titles “The Complete Tutankhamun”, which is expected to be published next month.
3,000-Year-Old Egyptian Artifact Discovered in Memphis, Tennessee.
Tumblr media
3,000-Year-Old Egyptian Artifact Discovered in Memphis, Tennessee. According to Interpol, the illegal trafficking of cultural property may be as high as $10 billion a year. Much of the cultural property heads to Europe before being sent to North America or East Asia.
An Egyptian artifact that may be over 3,000 years old was confiscated by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers after finding it in a shipping port in Memphis, Tennessee, officials said on Thursday.
The artifact was discovered on August 17 and was shipped from a dealer in Europe to a private buyer in the United States. The manifest listed the item as an antique stone sculpture over 100 years old, which may be the understatement of the millennium.
CBP officials worked with experts at the University of Memphis Institute of Egyptian Art and Archaeology to confirm the item’s authenticity. They said the item was likely from the Egyptian Third Intermediate Period, dating from 1069 BC to 653 BC, meaning the item is at least over 2,600 years old and may be over 3,000 years old.
They also determined that it is a canopic jar lid, depicting the Egyptian funeral deity Imsety, who was one of the four sons of Horus. Canopic jars were used to store mummies’ internal organs. Imsety was specifically tasked with protecting the deceased’s liver. Some believe he helped revive the dead to pass them to his father.
The shipper had made conflicting statements about the item’s value, which led to the CBP seizing the item. The Convention on Cultural Property Implementation Act of 1983 restricts the import of some archeological and ethnological materials into the United States, and it was under this law that the CBP was able to take the lid.
The head was then sent to the Department of Homeland Security Investigations for further examination. They hope to determine the item’s history of ownership.
Egypt Displays Hundreds of Newly Discovered Artefacts Dating Over 2,500 Years Old.
Tumblr media
May 31st, 2022! Egypt Displays Hundreds of Newly Discovered Artefacts Dating Over 2,500 Years Old. The Egyptian archaeological mission has reportedly discovered a massive number of coffins and bronze statues at a location near the famed Step Pyramid of Djoser, some 24 kilometers from the nation's capital of Cairo.
Egypt's antiquities officials have presented a trove of treasured items dating back over 2,500 years that were unearthed recently at the legendary necropolis of Saqqara, the National News reported on Monday.
Citing Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, the report detailed that the new archaeological find consisted of 250 sarcophagi and 150 small bronze statues of gods and goddesses, among other antiques.

Waziri reportedly exhibited only a portion of the treasure, comprising 35 painted wooden coffins, at the UNESCO Heritage site south of Cairo. The sarcophagi, which date back to the Late Period of Ancient Egypt's history, are said to be in good shape as all contain mummies.
"I'm very proud that the discovery was made by Egyptians, and this will not be the last discovery here," Waziri is quoted as saying.
Officials also presented a discovery of a "rare" papyrus scroll that could be a depiction of a chapter belonging to the Book of the Dead, a tradition of funerary texts that dates back to the Old Kingdom.
More to that, deities such as Anubis, Amun, Hathor, Isis, Min, Nefertum, Osiris, and Bastet - the "protector" of the area in the form of a cat — are among the statuettes shown in a large glass case. Waziri reportedly drew attention to the headless figure of Imhotep, the principal builder of Pharaoh Djoser, who ruled Egypt from 2630 to 2611 BC. Two larger statues of the goddesses Isis and Nephthys with golden features, sobbing in sadness, were also presented on Monday.

The discovery is one of many in recent years in Saqqara, the necropolis of Memphis' ancient city. Since April 2018, the Egyptian delegation has completed four excavations at the site, with a fifth scheduled for September after the hot summer months end.
Human and animal mummies, sarcophagi, statues, and other ancient Egyptian artifacts have been discovered in abundance at Saqqara. When Egyptian archeologists began excavating the site in 2018, they uncovered a 4,400-year-old priest's tomb, which became the subject of the Netflix documentary 'Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb' in 2020.
Tumblr media
According to the report, all of the artefacts will be taken to the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is expected to open in September, or the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, where they will be studied before being permanently displayed.
Waziri reportedly predicted "many surprises" and expressed hope that the team will discover the tomb of Imhotep, who "changed architecture" by erecting what is thought to be the world's oldest still-standing large-scale stone monument.

The Narmer Palette
Tumblr media
The Narmer Palette is the name of an elaborately carved shield-shaped slab of gray schist made during the Old Kingdom of Dynastic Egypt (ca. 2574-2134 BC). It is the earliest monumental representation of any pharaoh: the carvings on the palette depict events in the life of King Narmer, also known as Menes, considered the founding ruler of Dynastic Egypt.
Narmer's palette was found in a deposit with 2,000 other votive objects within the ruins of a temple at his capital city of Hierakonpolis south of Luxor. British archaeologists James E. Quibell and Frederick Green found the main deposit during their 1897-1898 field season at Hierakonpolis.
Palette and Palettes
The Narmer Palette is 64 centimeters (25 inches) long, and its shield shape is the same as that used for the domestic tool called a palette, which was used to hold cosmetics. Plainer, smaller domestic cosmetic palettes had been made by Egyptians for at least a thousand years before the date of the Narmer Palette. That's not unusual in Egyptian iconography—the Narmer Palette is one of a series of elaborately carved, portable objects dated to the formative period of Dynastic culture in Egypt, around the turn of the third millennium BCE. Many of these objects are ceremonial replicas of long-used domesticate objects.
Other examples of large carved objects depicting the deeds of Old Kingdom pharaohs include the Narmer Macehead, which illustrates the presentation of animals and people to a seated ruler, likely Narmer; a flint knife with an ivory handle showing a scene of combat found at Gebel el-Arak; and a slightly later ivory comb bearing the name of a different king of the First Dynasty. All of these are oversized, elaborate versions of common artifact types found in the Badarian/Khartoum Neolithic-Naqada I periods, and in this manner, they represent references to what would have been ancient history to the people of the Old Kingdom.
Who Was Narmer?
Narmer, or Menes, ruled about 3050 BCE and was considered by the First Dynasty Egyptians as the founder of that Dynasty, the last king of what archaeologists call Dynasty 0, or the Early Bronze Age IB. Egyptian dynastic civilization began over 5,000 years ago with the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt into a single Upper Egyptian Polity based at Hierankopolis, that unification attributed to Narmer in historical Egyptian records. Numerous later Egyptian writings claim Narmer as the conqueror of all the societies along the length of the Nile River, but some scholarly doubt persists. Narmer's own tomb has been identified at Naqada.
Cosmetic palettes began to be used as prestige objects in Egypt as early as the predynastic Naqada II-III period (3400-3000 BCE). A depression on such palettes was used to grind pigments, which were then mixed into a colored paste and applied to the body. The Narmer Palette was probably never used for that purpose, but there is a circular depression on it. That depression is what makes this side the "obverse" or front of the palette; despite that fact, the most often reproduced image is that of the back.
Iconography of the Narmer Palette
Carved into the top scrolls on both sides of Narmer's palette are cows with human faces, sometimes interpreted as the goddesses Bat and Hathor. Between the two is a serekh, a rectangular box containing hieroglyphs of the main protagonist, Narmer.
The main central relief of the reverse side of the palette shows King Menes wearing the white crown and dress of Upper Egypt kings and raising his mace to smite a kneeling prisoner. A falcon representing the Egyptian sky god Horus perches on a rebus listing countries defeated by Menes and a human arm coming from the falcon holds a rope securing a prisoner's head.
The Obverse Side
On the front or obverse side, the king, wearing the red crown and costume of Lower Egypt, marches out to view the stacked and dismembered bodies of his slain enemies, preceded by the souls of the kings of Lower Egypt. To the right of his head is a catfish, the schematic representation of his name Narmer (N'mr). Below that and twining around the depression are the long necks of two mythical creatures, serpent-leopards borrowed from Mesopotamian imagery. Some scholars such as Millet and O'Connor have argued that this scene functions as a year label—the palette represents events that happened during the Year of Smiting the North Land.
At the bottom of obverse side, the figure of a bull (probably representing the king) threatens an enemy. In Egyptian iconography, Narmer and other pharaohs often are illustrated as animals. Narmer is illustrated elsewhere as a bird of prey, a scorpion, a cobra, a lion or a catfish: His Horus name "Narmer" could be translated as "mean catfish," and his name glyph is a stylized catfish.
The Purpose of the Narmer Palette
There are several interpretations of the purpose of the palette. Many perceive it as a historical document—a bit of political braggadocio—specifically of the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt. Others feel it is a reflection of early Dynastic attitudes towards the cosmos.
Some, such as Wengrow, believe the palette illustrates a Mediterranean cattle cult dating back to the Neolithic. Given its recovery from within a temple deposit, the palette may be a dedicatory object for the temple in which it was found, and it was probably used in rituals that took place in the temple and celebrated the king.
Whatever else the Narmer palette might be, the iconography is an early and definitive manifestation of a common image among rulers: the king smiting his enemies. That motif remained an important symbol throughout the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms and into Roman times, and arguably is a worldwide symbol of rulers.

The First city you must spend your New Year Holidays There is Cairo, With more than 17 million residents, this dusty capital metropolis is one of the largest cities on Earth. Cairo is an ancient Islamic metropolis with a perpetually foggy horizon and beige-colored buildings topped with TV satellites that were built on the banks of the Nile River.
Modern Cairo, which was constructed close to the historic capital of Memphis, is a popular starting place for trips up the Nile and excursions to the nearby Giza Pyramids. However, this big metropolis itself has a tonne to offer during your New Year Egypt Packages.
One of the most famous places on Earth is undoubtedly the Giza Plateau. Giza is a city in and of itself, but it has developed so much in recent years that it now feels more like a district of the ever-expanding Cairo. It is situated on a desert plateau to the west of the capital, Cairo.
Visitors can get a close-up view of the Tutankhamun treasure as well as mummies and other treasures from Egypt's ancient history at the famed Egyptian Museum of Tahrir Square.
2- Luxor
One thousand years after the Great Pyramids were built, Egypt's New Kingdom came to be, and control was transferred from Memphis, the country's former capital, to Thebes, the location of modern-day Luxor. Thebes developed into the nation's cultural and political center after being richly endowed with gold found in the Nubian deserts and carried to the city on the Nile.
Luxor, a medium-sized city in Egypt, is one of the most well-liked tourist sites today and is referred to as the "world's largest open-air museum." Temples, tombs, and everything in between is just a few of the sights and activities of Luxor. A few days will be necessary to do it all justice, during your New Year Egypt Travel Packages.
The majority of Luxor's attractions are situated on the East or West Banks of the Nile. Karnak Temple, also known as Ipet-isu ('Most Select of Places'), is a remarkable temple city that took more than 2,000 years to construct. It is one of the most well-known attractions on the East Bank. Despite the fact that the entire Karnak complex is made up of four major components, only the main building known as the Temple of Amun is accessible to the general public.
3- Aswan
if you search for relaxation in New Year Holidays, Aswan, the southernmost city in Egypt, is a significant settlement tucked away along the banks of the Nile River. It does, however, provide a considerably more laid-back alternative to major cities like Luxor or Cairo because of its size and location.
Aswan serves as the starting point for excursions to the Sun Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel, to the south, as well as the temples of Philae and Kabasha, even though its own monuments pale in comparison to those of Luxor. Between Aswan and Luxor, it serves as an excellent starting place for excursions to the Kom Ombo and Edfu temples.
One of Egypt's most alluring landscapes is found in Aswan. Beginning Cataract of the Nile, the first of a series of small white water rapids divided by rocky islets that extend north to Khartoum, is visible from granite cliffs. It was formerly the entrance to Africa in ancient Egypt and is now home to a sizable Nubian population. The Nubian Museum, which is stocked with artifacts and valuables that were preserved from Nubia's flood, has further information about these people.
