It's everybody's dream to make THE NEW YORK TIMES, LOL!
It’s everybody’s dream to make THE NEW YORK TIMES, LOL!
My sister put this little blue arrow on the pic to show where I am. How was my time at Necro? I’ll be posting a round-up with some of my favorite pics later this week. Imagine my surprise this morning, though, when an article on NECRONOMICON PROVIDENCE showed up in my news feed. I was reading the article, and I was looking at all the pictures closely to see if I could ID any of my friends or…

One thing I learned in witchcraft and the occult is just how many people just... say stuff that you really can't take too seriously. Whether they're innocently misled, or just aren't using great critical thinking skills, or are just making stuff up for clout, people will just say a lot of things that just aren't worth putting any stock in. Whether it's because actual evidence precludes their claims, or because people making these kinds of claims are consistently unable to provide evidence, or because promised events or results fail to manifest, or because it was obvious that their claim is just a variation on a stock lie, or because the methods they used to glean their information are subjective at best and notoriously unreliable at worst, or because it's just statistically absurd, I just... learned to take these people with a grain of salt.
A thing I noticed real fast when I started researching UFO, New Age, and conspiracy stuff, is just how many people had the exact same vibe, or were making near-identical claims to the people I'd learned not to take too seriously.
"This alien told me that giant solar flares will destroy all of our modern technology in three years" versus "Odin came and told me that Ragnarok is upon us, we have to prepare ourselves for the final battle now!"
"The aliens told me that I was a genetic experiment with special DNA that gives me special clairvoyant powers to see the future with" versus "Apollo is my father and that makes me a more powerful witch than you!"
"Ancient people actually had incredibly advanced technology, but the government is concealing it from us" versus "all pagans worshiped the Great Goddess in ancient times but the Church is hiding this from the masses."
"A mysterious man dropped off these CIA documents and vanished" versus "A mysterious man dropped off an old manuscript of the Necronomicon and vanished."
"I went under hypnosis and recalled suppressed memories of an alien abduction!" versus "I underwent hypnosis and recalled memories of a past life where I was burned at the stake for practicing Wicca."
"I sneaked into the secret underground base and stole these papers" versus "I found this mysterious old book proving the existence of this pagan cult in an old abandoned attic!"
"Ex-Satanist speaks out about Satanic bloodlines!" versus "My family's grimoire goes all the way back to ancient times!"
And so on and so forth.
Just... after you learn what bullshit looks like in one presentation, you can recognize it in other presentations. Because at the core they're all the same sorts highly doubtful claims; they're just being told in different frameworks and worldviews.

The Ultimate Emo/Scene Name List - WARNING: Long post, and make sure you read the trigger warnings!
Having trouble coming up with a name for yourself? Do you planning on using a part of your real name but can’t find a word to go with it? Well, worry no more!
Today, I’m here to provide as comprehensive a list as possible! I’ve scoured the internet, and some sources have some problematic suggestions. So, my goal is to break down possible names into easy to understand categories. Obviously, this will be a VERY long list, so keep that in mind. There is also a section purely made up of words used in the past that are to be used/reclaimed at one's own risk/discretion due to the words being used to oppress or belittle various minority groups. I will also be sharing my sources at the bottom for stuff I used from online, alongside any trigger warnings that may be needed. Without further ado, let’s go! Also feel free to reblog with suggestions to add!

Navigating the Divide Between Legitimate Academic Study and Occult Fiction
“How do you separate the legit academic stuff about the occult from all the made-up nonsense?” a question received on my main blog
Exploring historic occult and esoteric philosophies, along with archaeological discoveries related to their practices in both pre- and post-Christian eras, would provide a solid foundation, especially if you’re approaching it from an academic standpoint.
“Research articles”, which can usually be accessed through your colleges local library. (Many libraries are part of a network which shares scans of these texts with one another.) Will allow you to read the translated versions of ancient papyri and get a sense of what different cultures practices were like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Start with Greco Roman and Ancient Egypt, most people have a rough understanding of these cultures and mythologies already so it’s usually a good starting point for keeping your interests alive. Then focus in on the Middle Eastern Magickal Practices, and then western occult beliefs and writings, after all that look into the occult resurgence movement of the Victorian Era, and that should be a good foundation to start building upon.
The Nonsensical Occult
This is where my opinions tend to differ from people, honestly the only difference between the necronomicon and "real" magical texts is time and forgotten origins, in 500 years it will probably be looked at under the same light as some of the occult texts we reference today in our papers. I.E John Dee and Edward Kelly’s Enochian, The Lesser Key Of Solomon Etc Etc.
I say that in the sense that, religion is a human construct, Gods come and go, and most people just kind of make shit up when they’re bored. There is already a full blown religion dedicated to the Cthulhu Mythos and they even have monthly services. Who knows in 500 years that might just be the norm(probably not but you get the idea)
Don’t get me wrong there are some seriously bad takes, many of which can be seen in the new age spiritualism movement from the 20th and 21st century, filled to the brim with sexism and racist ideologies. But even these works can hold insight if you’re able to sift through the flaming pile of garbage.
My Point
When you’re in academia you’re going to encounter works of literature that just don’t sit right with you, spiritually or morally. But at the end of the day, they’re a part of history and shaped the way entire groups of people lived their daily lives.
And reading these books allows us to gain insight into the thought processes of the time and learn from the mistakes of the past.
A book is book, and its up to you to decide what gets done with that knowledge once its in your head.
If your first thought after reading a book is “hey… I’ma start a cult”. That says more about you as a person than it does about the book.
Anyway I hope that at least in part answered your question, I may have gone on a tangent. Hope You Have an Amazing Day filled to the brim with magick:)

Well, that's terrifying. So, uh, what exactly is the plan here?
Every chapter sees the Least Compliant Danganronpa Cast try something to screw the Killing Game. For chapter 3, it's Angie's turn to take a crack at solving this problem. And her solution?
Why, martial law instituted by a spiritual leader with dictatorial power, of course!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aside from some scant remarks that some of the members made earlier today, this is the first anybody's hearing about this. We didn't decide, as a group, to form a student council. Nobody voted for this.
But Angie and her followers have decided that they're in charge now and we all have to do what they say. Anyone who has a problem with that can take it up with Gonta.
And just in case there's any doubt that this is anything but a religious cult masquerading as a political group by appropriating the language of democracy, Angie quickly confirms it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's not how democracy works, y'all.
With that, the theocratic dictatorship of Angie Yonaga is instated. Democratically elected by only a close group of her followers, who are the only ones who can be trusted to vote because Angie said so. Angie is now God-Queen of Ultimate Academy and will bring an end to the Killing Game via her own unilateral rules to police and govern when the students may do, enforced by her "council".
And her first order of business, of course?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hoooooooooo boy....
We have in front of us an opportunity to bring one person back to life. There are four people dead, and valid arguments to resurrect any one of them - If we can even trust this, as some in the group bring up that the Necronomicon could be a trick of some kind.
There is a lot to discuss about this resurrection ritual, and a lot of debate to be had over how it's going to use. None of which we get to have, because Angie just swooped in and said, "As God-Queen of Ultimate Academy, my opinion is the only one that matters and I will decide who gets revived. Have a nice day."
Every attempt at thwarting the Killing Game from the Least Compliant Cast has, baked within it, a deadly flaw. This? This right here? This is the crack in Angie's plan.
Angie's plan to thwart the Killing Game is to instate dictatorial rule with herself as the Empress. In doing so, she's set herself up as the Single Point of Failure. She's generating a wealth of hostility in the out-group as well as complicated politics in the in-group, all of which is directed at her.
She thinks she's solved the Killing Game. What she's actually done is channeled it, accumulating all of the stress and fear and agitation that's built up over the course of the game, and directed it... at herself. Setting out to make enemies almost immediately with new regulations like: NO going outside during the night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NO trying to escape through the inescapable secret backdoor tunnel that Monokuma provided to mock us.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NO using the Flashback Lights to try and recover your lost memories of the time that was taken from you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's pretty clear what's about to happen to her, right? We're moving steadily towards a point where everybody has a reason. That makes it all the more difficult to predict who it will be.
This is such an amazing setup. You couldn't ask for a more complex and intricate murder. This case is primed to be one of the greatest the series has ever seen.
...
...
Yeah. So.

Reluctant Hero?
= Sixteen = (Chapter List)
Jaune was well into his third beer of the night when he heard the door of the rooftop access squeak open. In response, Jaune just finished his beer, crushed the can and tossed it off the side of the roof. Snapping his fourth from the six-pack, he punched in the tab with his cybernetic thumb.
Jaune: Cheers to being pushed off the roof!
Jaune tipped his head back and started to down the can. It was only when he paused to take a breath that he noticed that on one side of him, Cardin had sat down, while on the other Nora had.
Jaune: (Slightly slurring his words) What the hell are the two of you doing here?
Nora: Checking on you.
Cardin: Nothing else to do.
Jaune: (Still slurring his words) Well do it somewhere else, and thanks for the offer of company, but I'd rather be alone.
Nora: Can I?
Jaune: Are you nineteen?
Nora: Seventeen.
Jaune: You?
Cardin: Be eighteen next month.
Jaune: Well, that's a hard no then, mes amis!
Nora: Then how...
Jaune: I'm nineteen... be twenty in a couple of weeks.
Cardin: You're nineteen?
Jaune: Are you trying to card me?
Cardin: No, just you don't look it.
Jaune: Whatever. Now if you'll excuse me, I have one more after this, and then I'm going to see if I can stand up without going off the edge.
Nora: What was all that out there?
Jaune: Oh, now we get to the real...
Cardin: Do you blame us? I had to cave in the head of a childhood friend today. What happened?
Jaune: The NecroNomicon happened, and before you ask... I'm nowhere near drunk enough to tell you about it.
Cardin looked at Jaune who was still coated in viscera and almost dry black goo, before casting a glance to Nora. Biting his lip, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a ziplock baggie.
Cardin: Would this help?
Nora: Why do you...
Cardin: It's Sky's, or was his. No sense of it going to waste, and I think we all need it after that... whatever it was.
Jaune: It was a clusterfuck shit show, that's what it was. (Belches and tosses another crushed can off the roof.) Pass them out, let's get baked.
Nora: How is this okay, but you wouldn't share your beer?
Jaune: Firstly, I'm not getting charged with providing alcohol to minors. Secondly, this is Cardin's shit, so if we get in trouble he's the dealer.
Cardin: Hey!
Jaune: It's just the facts, big guy.
/==/ 30 Minutes Later /==/
It didn't take much for Glynda Goodwitch to find the three wayward young adults. The laughter pinpointed their location after she deduced, from the beer cans littering the ground, that they were on the roof.
She wrinkled her nose at the smell, knowing distinctly what the three were partaking in. The door squeaked as she pushed it open, not that the three individuals noticed. She watched as the orange haired girl plucked the joint from the lips of the one she was positive was Jaune.
Nora: Gods, I am SO hungry right now!
Cardin: I know. I could really go for something to eat.
Jaune: I could go for some pancakes.
Nora: Oh, that sounds perfect.
Cardin: I'm game, but where do we get them? I think the cafeteria is closed by now.
Jaune: Vale. We get some in Vale.
Nora: Where though?
Jaune: There has to be...
Cardin: Who cares, where. The question is how?
Nora: How? How what?
Cardin: How do we get to Vale? I mean, the bullheads have to have stopped.
Glynda: Indeed they have.
Glynda reached out with her semblance, keeping the all three of the very high adults from falling off the roof as they scrambled to get to their feet. The last thing beacon needed after the disaster that initiation had become, was an alleged triple suicide, because three idiots fell off the roof after smoking up.

Persona 5 Tactica details Yoshiki Kingdom, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, Haru, battle techniques, enemies, difficulty settings, Persona fusion, and day one DLC
Gematsu Source
Tumblr media
ATLUS has released new information and screenshots for Persona 5 Tactica introducing more about the Yoshiki Kingdom; characters Yusuke Kitagawa, Makoto Niijima, Futaba Sakura, and Haru Okumura; battle techniques, enemies, and difficulty settings; Persona fusion and Lavenza; and day one downloadable content featuring Goro Akechi and Kasumi Yoshizawa.
Get the details below.
■ Yoshiki Kingdom
A stark contrast from the French Revolution vibe of Marie’s Kingdom, The Phantom Thieves and Erina now find themselves in a Kingdom reminiscent of mid-1800s Japan.
Before they can even catch their breath, the Phantom Thieves see a woman in crisis. While they successfully save her, they become wanted criminals in the process. According to Yuki, the woman they saved, the Kingdom’s ruler, Yoshiki, is seen as a moral and loving leader, but she claims this is only a façade.
In truth, Kingdom citizens are subject to constant surveillance, excused by a need to watch over the citizens. Anyone who shows a whiff of dissent towards Yoshiki is captured immediately and taken away to perform labor under force.
Joker and the team decide to stand up to Yoshiki. To do so, they must free the imprisoned citizens in military posts throughout the Kingdom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To avoid the watchful eye of Yoshiki’s Legionnaires, who he calls the Aizen Squad, the Phantom Thieves are led by Yuki to a local kimono shop.
After disguising as samurai, geisha, and other citizens, the team decides to enact Toshiro’s diversionary strategy so as to escape with the imprisoned citizens unharmed.
While the team’s plan is successful, their joy is short-lived. Yoshiki descends from the sky, his serene demeanor now replaced with a terrifying rage. Now the Phantom Thieves and friends will face the full might of this Kingdom’s ruler.

Lovecraft and animals, Part 11: Crabs - Crabs or alien beings with crab features appear most clearly with The Fungi From Yuggoth. These 'space crabs' resemble crustaceans in that they are multi- limbed with legs that end in clippers or claws. Usually, they have heads formed of a mass of fungi-type material. The "Fungi' communicate with their own kind by displaying a variety of shifting colors on the toadstool cranial structure. They are capable of mimicking the voices of humans but the result often resembles a sort of buzzing insect tone. Al-Azif, the origional Arabic title of The Necronomicon, supposedly represents the droning sound of insects buzzing in the desert - flies buzzing around a corpse perhaps? The "Great Race" creatures featured in THE SHADOW OUT OF TIME have a large pair of crab-like claws at the ends of their extendable arms. Clicking these claws together in somewhat 'Morse Code' style is how they communicate with each other normally. Back to our mushroom/ crab friends: The Fungi from Yuggoth entities hail from Yuggoth (the 'planet' Pluto) which was first discovered around the time Lovecraft wrote THE WHISPERER IN DARKNESS in which they appear. Ultimately, however, they come from some place in time and space far more distant. How these alien monsters made it to earth is a real puzzler. Lovecraft suggests that they fly from planet to planet on 'aether resisting wings', wings that only serve them clumsily here on earth? Considering the speed that they would need to travel at to reach something even so close as our own moon anytime in the near future renders that idea as pretty rediculous! Lovecraft was a dedicated Astrologer as a youth. He wrote articles on the subject for a local newspaper when he was a teen. HPL was also a welcome visitor to the Ladd Observatory near his home in Providence RI. Even he must have understood how preposterous the idea of flying on wings through space was. Still, Lovecraft disliked machines generally, so spaceships never really make a defined showing in his fiction. As a fiction writer Lovecraft frequently toyed with concepts that he would have found utterly absurd in real life. (Exhibit 419)

Doc Scratch (Homestuck) "The mostly omniscient First Guardian of Alternia, who has been pulling the strings for millenia to cause the tragedies befalling Alternia and orchestrate Lord English’s arrival. His understanding is limited to the Alpha Timeline, but if he comes across something he doesn't know naturally, he's usually able to figure it out pretty quick; the only way to entirely block him out is the power of Void. He considers people who don’t have his near-omniscience “Suckers,” but when Terezi tells him Vriska has one of his magic cue balls (which gives her just a fraction of his near-omniscience), he flips the fuck out. He seems to lack traditional senses and instead perceives the world using his omniscience, which allows him to possess faultless knowledge of his environment's contents, appearance and behavior without using physical senses to derive it. When he attempts to make amends with Vriska and implies that she will come across a monopoly of misfortune if she refuses, and is answered with insults, he almost-outright states that Vriska will not survive the destruction her actions will cause. Given his omniscience and role in preserving the Alpha timeline, this may have been nothing more than an attempt to slip in a barb on Vriska; he knew she wouldn't act differently, and his job was to preserve the cascade of misfortune that brought about Lord English — but he left her with the blame for it. He manipulates sessions into guaranteed failure so he can warp them into twisted, sociopathic killing pens designed to produce "ideal" players… whose actions only create another failed session. His MO is to "nudge" people down routes that they would have taken anyway, using his knowledge to manipulate and mislead; as of the end of Act 5, each and every playable character, Jack Noirs included, were being set up in order to help him create the Green Sun, when everyone who knew about the Green Sun thought that they were trying to destroy it, and he never once lied."
Futaba Sakura (Persona) "A playful hacker who acts as the Phantom Thieves’ Mission Control, using her technological skills to uncover information in the real world and her Navigator abilities to provide information about the Palaces and Shadows in the Metaverse. The Phantom Thieves recruited her to take down the hacker group Medjed (named after an Egyptian deity whose description calls him “that smiter […] who shoots with his eyes”), only to discover that she’s the original Medjed. Her Personas are Necronomicon (a source of forbidden knowledge that drives people mad), Prometheus (who stole fire from the gods for humanity), and Al Azif (the Arabic title of the Necronomicon). By remembering the truth behind her mother’s death, she unlocked Necronomicon: "What denies you is an illusion… A curse put upon you by the heartless… You knew from the very beginning… And yet, you cowered in fear. […] The forbidden wisdom has been revealed. No mysteries, no illusions will deceive you any longer." Her technological prowess is second to none: not only does she manage to take down a corporate executive impersonating her hacker group Medjed, but she manages to crack into more-or-less every television broadcast in Japan to send a calling card from the Phantom Thieves to Masayoshi Shido, just to make absolutely sure he knows they're coming. As the original Medjed, her skills were of worldwide fame, even if her own identity remained anonymous. She has a habit of using her skills without regard for privacy or consequences, such as her bugging of Leblanc to keep an eye on Sojiro, bugging the protagonist's phone camera so she can keep an eye on them during their trip to Hawaii, and finding out her Uncle's financial history. When the Thieves are targeting Makoto’s sister Sae, she offers to tell them about Sae’s history with men and “her repertoire of underwear.” Makoto even mentions before the Hawaii trip that she's glad Futaba is on their side, recognizing she'd make a fearsome enemy."

not ash x evil ash stuff, but do you have any just evil ash head cannons? :0
Of course, Anon! ^^
I have quite a few actually. This jerk's always on my mind. I'll be taking my headcanon evidence from Army of Darkness and Evil Dead the Game as those are the main canon.
--
The headcanon I have to establish first weaves into all the other headcanons, and this is that Evil Ash is not a Deadite (or even dead really).
1_ I've mentioned this in a previous post but I headcanon that Evil Ash is very cold physically. Like not "Dead as a corpse" cold, more like "someone touched you with their cold foot" cold. He can't make his own body heat but like a lizard, he can be heated up by outside sources. He tends to like being near fires because he doesn't enjoy feeling cold.
2_ He doesn't need to eat/drink or sleep but can take pleasure in them both. Sleep provides a safe haven from chattering skeletons that grate on his nerves. He can also dream. Warm food and drink can raise his body temp, a sensation he's quite the fan of. Though, he does have difficulty drinking because of his damaged mouth.
3_ He's from a strange mirror realm and was essentially "birthed" into a flesh body through Ash. This has had an effect of Evil Ash's very being. He is neither fully human or fully demon. Because much like a Dark One, Evil Ash can think for himself as well as cast spells.
4_ His resurrection spells are not limited to skeletons. He can also reanimate corpses but the end result may be stiffer and less useful than his usual minions.
5_ Evil Ash does feel pain. He just has an extremely high pain tolerance. (his skeleton variant does not feel pain, because it has no pain receptors). His damaged face doesn't generally hurt. Except for his jaw. His jaw aches or hurts most of the time. Especially when it has unhinged.
6_ I headcanon that Ash was a theater kid in high school, judging by how he breaks into song randomly, knows several instruments, and is generally fairly theatrically goofy. Most of the that theatrical influence was transferred to Evil Ash when he manifested. It makes Evil Ash very playful and over the top in many of his mannerisms. He tends to exaggerate many of the things he says or actions he does. He plays necromancer general as if he was playing the role in a play. He likes to put on a show.
7_ Evil Ash wants the necronomicon for himself, not for the deadites. He wants to read the spells and full his own narrative of being a dark general and ruling earth. He doesn't give a shit about deadites.
8_ Because of how Evil Ash was manifested, he has a bit of an obsession with Ash (even in a platonic means). It frustrates him to no end that something internally draws him to Ash. It's what keeps him from actively trying to kill Ash. Other than teasing and punching Ash just to bully him, Evil Ash has extremely low intent to hurt Ash unless provoked.
9_ While I do headcanon Ash as trans, Evil Ash is cis. This is because Evil Ash is the dark carbon copy of Ash's true self.
10_ Because Evil Ash is essentially half human, he has feelings, interests, desires, and his own sense of aesthetics. I think he likes the aesthetic of rain fall but can't stand being out in it because of how cold it is.

I already sorta mentioned it in relation to the Adult Mag entry in the boss fight tournament, but it's fun to go over again,
BLUE BOOK is a fun reference to old English almanacs that implies a comprehensive collection of information, suitable for a magical autonomous book of magic.
NECRONOMIOCN taken famously from Lovecraftian lore, and a natural pick for a magical book enemy. Oddly despite the source material, it's not an especially threatening enemy in any of its appearances. Also it does not appear to be bound in human flesh, which is a shame because it could have made for a cool striking enemy model; although the pages of the WA1 model do have giant eyes in them.
TARGUM however is a much more obscure kind of reference. It's the term used to refer to the early translations of the Tanakh from their original Hebrew into Aramaic. I like the idea of it being used here to evoke a kind of ancient foreign magic of which this is the first comprehensible version of it written down for Filgaians. Also it's bound with a Japanese style sidestich rather than with a spine, giving a distinctly antique impression.
APOCRYPHA is a another fun one. Apocrypha can refer to a wide range of things in opposition to "canonical" texts. Probably most notable, or at least most familiar to people, would be the idea of biblical apocrypha; those biblical texts by subject and/or historical era not included in the bible itself, and considered by some to be heretical. It's neat as a magic tome as it implies something more secret, or rejected, or even forbidden.
DE RE METALLICA first appears not as an enemy at all but as the erroneously transliterated "De Le Metalica" dungeon, hidden within a magic book in Wild Arms 1, and subsequently Alter Code F. The real world De Re Metallica was a 16th century text written by Georg Bauer, cataloguing in 12 books all the details of how to find, mine, purify, smelt, and craft metal --a literally earth shattering development in mining and metalwork as it not only aggregated a long history of otherwise disparate and unwritten knowledge but also ventured into the then cutting edge of metallurgy and alchemy that would provide a groundwork for future developments in actual chemistry.
Then of course we have the ADULT MAG. Rather self explanatory, really. SUKEBEBONN[スケベ本]: "Lewd Book" in Japanese, it's a phrase that tends to refer to erotic manga more than the sort of adult photo collections we might think of in the west. In fact the first Dirty Mag model in WA3 actually has "ERO COM," as in "erotic comic", written on its cover. In fact something more in line with Hustler or Playboy would actually be referred to as a "Gravure" magazine.
The COMICBOOK which is again straight forward enough. It's just called MANGA in the original Japanese. If you're not familiar, Japanese serial manga are printed in magazine format, larger size, generally lower quality paper and print, but proportionally lower in cost as well(as little as the equivalent of 5.00USD for ~500 pages), but dozens of titles to an issue. Back when the Japanese and global economy were a little better, and when people still used phonebooks, they were often compared in size, although they tend to be a bit slimmer in recent years. In case it was odd to anyone why the comic book enemy was the size of a regular book. It's a shame this enemy didn't show up in other games.
and finally, STRATEGY GUIDE, which is a fun one. With Virginia and the title "WILD ARMS 3" on the cover. Another fun gag enemy with some 4th wall breaking fun for good measure. Again shame we never saw it make a comeback in any other games.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever travelled for a concert?
So far it's been Providence, RI to see Godflesh, Jarboe, Final, and Vitriol for Necronomicon Fest weekend 2019.
If I had more money and time, I would go to so many shows all over the country (and elsewhere).
