Plot twist: In a way better Haunted Mansion movie, Emily spends the entire film acting as a very kind, patient, and sweet character who never raises her voice or says anything mean or rude even once...

Then, during the final confrontation with the film's antagonist, Emily is the one who gets to use the PG13 f bomb.

Hatbox stands off to the side with his jaw on the floor upon hearing his wife.

((Oh, that is perfect, I love it! I especially love the mental image of Hatty's jaw on the floor-literally, on the floor, his lower jaw having fallen off and onto the ground-at his wife, whom he's seldom ever heard swear! He's not appalled, of course, just...surprised! As are most everyone else!

@beatingheart-bride, what say you to the idea of Emily getting the one (1) allotted F-bomb in a PG-13 Haunted Mansion movie?))

I love how in the Tmnt franchise it's always an indisputable fact that Splinter will always take care of the boys. Like he'll literally have his life turned completely upside down by being mutated into a rat and then he'll see these four infant mutated turtles and literally go-

"Babies?? Babies for me?? Babies for me to adopt and cherish and teach??? Yes???? Guess I'm a dad now."

And he just rolls with it, no questions asked he just becomes their dad and honestly it's quite sweet and wonderful when you think about it.

To the lovely KH blog that I follow that asked why Kingdom Hearts is trending, I would like you to know just how much of my hate you have. I looked up what's recent on the Kingdom Hearts tag and you know what I found?

The earth shattering certainty that not only is Soriku canon but is also an allegory using Jungian psychology to perfectly illustrate the need to accept and find balance with oneself. And that, contrary to all my prior held beliefs that Sora is pure cinnamon bun levels of light and purity, I should have trusted the openings, the games, and the keyblade masters Terra and Aqua who state that it's Riku that guided them to destiny islands and also implying that Sora may be a big darkness villain at some point.

Don't even get me started on Roxas, or how I never put together that "Kairi arrived on the night of a meteor shower" means that Namine COULDN'T have been replacing Kairi in the memory she gave to Sora and Repliku in CoM about the promise to always protect her.

So, once again. To that lovely blog who asked the question that sent me down this rabbit hole 2 HOURS AGO!!!! Thank you.

I want an episode where Black Hat reviews Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel on his own scale of villainy and inevitably just calls him the most pathetic version of Hell’s ruler he’s ever come across because he doesn’t embody the typical traits that the usual depictions have: Being truly Evil. Is one of those factors that are missing from the Hazbin Hotel’s depiction of Lucifer. I can just imagine him bashing the man into a wall with the amount of anger and criticisms he has. I actually sort of want to write a whole script for an Orientation Video and it’s just Black Hat going over Lucifer’s known feats and accomplishments. He’d only acknowledge his strength but then he’d call it useless to have due to his nature and what he uses his immense power for, he’d go as far as saying he misuses it at every opportunity he gets but he’d always find the way he carries himself to be rather pathetic.

There’s a whole list of criticisms Black Hat would have, then there’d be a scene showing how he’s connected to Lucifer in some way because in Orientation Video fashion, that’s what usually happens, showing how he’s influenced so and so (And how the person failed him.). Bro ranks him as a meek villain, well, he’d actually say that the man doesn’t even qualify to be in the ranking given the fact that he’s sympathetic towards humanity and the sinners now that his daughter helped him out of his depressive cycle. He would deem Lucifer as someone who runs hell in the disguise of this almighty figure when really he behaves more like a lapdog and can be manipulated very easily emotionally, he’d sooner compare him to a worthless hero then a villain. It’d get him so mad. Like he thinks Hell would be going to waste under Lucifer’s rule.

Black Hat’s face when listening to Hell’s greatest dad would be so priceless. Bro wouldn’t even know what YELP is or what a YELP review is or why he should find it important. Bros face when listening to More than anything would be even more funny, these angry faces are super hilarious to imagine.

In my previous post I told some of my thoughts about the upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King movie. Now I want to add some more.

Okay, lions appear in snowy mountains. Let's say I can accept it, hardly but I can. We already saw something similar in The Lion Guard (Theluji mountains, Tree of Life for example).

Mufasa not native to the Pridelands. Maybe I can accept it. He and Scar still can be brothers, travelling together.

BUT! DISNEY! How are you gonna explain.... this?

Mufasa and Scar not biologically brothers??? DISNEY! YOU ARE DESTROYING EVERYONE'S CHILDHOOD!

Yeah, in the animated version they don't look like brothers in appearance, I have to admit. Mufasa with yellow fur and reddish-brown mane, Scar with dark fur and black mane. Okay. But this doesn't mean anything. It is just animation style and this is how they show who the hero is and who the antagonist is.

But you kick up everything. This is how you want to explain the difference? Making them not biologically relative to each other in the end? This was the relationsship it all was based on! The storyline, the characters, The Lion Guard story. Everything...

New trailer dropped, and I'm no longer disappointed, I'm just straight up sad. None of these characters ever struck me as evil, just mischievous. That's how they were in almost every other HM thing, but not this one, I guess.

But OH MY GOD HATBOX LOOKS AMAZING. He is absolutely perfect in the design department, and he's everything I ever could have asked for! ...Except for his voice. It's not the worst in the world, but it sounds a little too strange, and it belongs to Jared Leto.

So... petition to recycle this same character design in a future remake where the plot is actually good, Del Toro is in charge, and Hattie is voiced by literally ANYONE else on the market. (But preferably Willem Dafoe, because he'd be perfect.)

((I will say, the effects for Ol' Hatty do look pretty damn impressive, I will give the film that! He's rendered with some very impressive detail, and I'm sure it'll be no different with the other ghosts, but I completely agree, I do not read the ghosts as being evil, they seem much more playful and mischievous in the US Mansions! Were this Phantom Manor, that would be one thing; the ghosts in that ride largely feel very cruel and mean-spirited, but that's never felt like the case with the US versions, and I'm disappointed that the filmmakers have gone that route, rather than portraying them as fun-loving and playful as they come across in the ride proper! I wouldn't say no to recycling these character designs into a better film with a better story, Del Toro at the helm, and certainly a much better voice for Hatty than Jared Leto, ugh! Willem Dafoe would make an excellent choice for the character, I could absolutely get behind that casting!))

A bit of rambling, and maybe I'm speaking too soon, but so far I've had a more enjoyable time back on Tumblr in the week I've been back since I quit seriously being on here three years ago, than the three years I've spent on twitter. And I'm still dealing with the shellshock.

Coming from twitter, I am used to people being absolutely so volatile that I actually became afraid to even say hello to people because I never knew what I was going to be met with.

And here I've had people message me such nice things and just act polite to me if I asked them something, and I've just been so used to people acting needlessly rude or defensive that having people actually be nice/courteous made me double-take.

On top of all of it, it actually feels like I can share Ellie's lore with no shame or fear of embarrassment because someone will call her cringe or something, or worse, say she's not a valid character because she bends the lore in a lot of places.

TLDR: I've only been on tumblr for less than a week but the sheer difference between here and my experience on twitter is such a culture shock, it's hard for me to process that people here are just nicer, if not that then far more patient and understanding.
