on the one hand the usual slaanesh stuff makes me go “yuck”, on the other, there’s so many cool ways to fluff a slaanesh army that aren’t “space marines but horny”, so if i dip into chaos proper, might do that.
gold. lots of gold. decadence in decay. so much fancy stuff, all gone to rot. hoo boy, this might be cool.

I'm overthinking wayyy too much and making myself anxious over fictional characters, so I'm going to use this post as a theorizing vent:
So, obviously, s5 and s6 have fleshed out basically every avenue of lore you could hope for from "Rick and Morty." We know what happened to Rick's original Beth and Diane. We know about the creation of the citadel. We know about Prime being Morty's original Rick. We know why Rick came to the s1 cronenberged dimension in the first place.
There's just one thing that hasn't clicked yet...
How did Rick know Morty as a baby, and why?
(Assuming that the Morty baby we see him interact with in canon is our Morty.)
Tumblr media
I thought that maybe Rick just popped in from time to time to the s1 dimension to see if Prime had returned, and maybe he just ran into Morty there while he was being left to his own devices, but now?
Well... Now i'm not so sure...
Mr. Twist insisted that Morty was a plot twist, saying that he was the 6th member of "The Self-Referential 6" that defines the nature of reality.
Tumblr media
In hindsight, Rick was a little too eager to dismiss that as something Morty should think about, don't you think?
Now, there are a couple of possibilities we could take from this:
1.) There's just a general plot twist involving Morty coming up. This could be related to factors already discussed in canon because there are a lot of avenues open for something like this. (The memories from "Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind" and the photo on BP's wall from "Get Schwifty"; the fact that Prime is Morty's original grandpa; Marta and the effects of "Rick: a Mort Well-lived.")
2.) (The inarguably more interesting and terrifying option) Rick is involved in a plan over a decade deep that involves the existence of this particular Morty somehow, and it's about to be really fucking important.
Not only do the memories and photos line up with this, but one particular line is leaving me with a funny feeling after thinking about it with this theory in context...
Tumblr media
Oh shit...
At first, I thought it could be a moment of the writers saying, "Hey! Rick cares about Morty and he wants you to know that as a viewer!"
But thinking about it in this context?? It's a bit chilling. Are they hinting at something bigger to the viewer here?
To follow up a moment like this with something like Mr. Twist’s comment makes me think.
(You could also take into account that Rick seemed VERYYY interested in getting Morty out of this situation. I'd like to think that that's due to character progression and his learning to be a grandpa here, but I'm going to mention it for the sake of this theory.
Specifically, "Morty! Take this and get out of here!")
Morty is also the only one who can see or hear the ghost of Joseph Campbell after his death.
Not Rick. Not Story Lord. Morty.
Why??? What ability or link does he have to this plane that means he can see and hear Joseph Campbell?
Another detail that could be used as a nod to this theory is Rick's established relationship with Brett Caan. (Obviously, it was a play on his ability to have him say that Rick had always trusted him, but now that he's said it... Doesn't that mean that Rick and Brett have "always been friends"? That gets confirmed and supported by Rick, as well.) Could this have something to do with Rick’s knowledge about this specific Morty?
Tumblr media
Overall, this could be nothing, and it could be something. It's just interesting and I'm having lots of thoughts.
I mean, we can trust that Morty isn't bait at this point, but... What can't they tell us about him?
Maybe the reason we haven't seen much Morty substance in this season isn't just because of neglect/disinterest on behalf of the writers, but because something bigger is at play that they don't want us to expect...
(gif from @thesoftboiledegg and only started thinking of this because @twocorvids mentioned the comment from Mr. Twist having some possible substance.)

this will only appeal to a very niche demographic and honestly i thought it was too perfect to post at first but i figured i'd share it just in case anyone else finds joy from this lmao.
so my best friend and i came up with a cast list for if reservoir dogs had been made in 1972 instead of 1992. i've included pictures that i think showcase the kind of energy these actors may have brought to these roles as well
mr. white - paul newman
Tumblr media
i mean he would realllyyy lean into the softie side of mr. white and come across very romantic imo. he would come across as very sincere and would play up the emotional aspects of mr. white's character. like this would somehow be even more gay i think.
mr orange - al pacino
Tumblr media
twink. his dynamic with paul newman would go insane just imagine how gay it would be...i think he'd have a similar energy to the version of michael corleone at the beginning of part one- very quiet and restrained, also kind of awkward, and ultimately able to pull of his deception as mr. orange. he'd come across a lot different than tim roth's mr orange but in a really interesting way. there is also an inherent vulnerability to his acting style that would work really well here.
mr. pink - robert de niro
Tumblr media
with steve buscemi's mr. pink, you get the sense that he is not used to these types of situations. but i think de niro would add a way more smooth and collected yet unhinged energy to mr. pink. his not wanting to tip the waiter would come off more as a thing he does to sound like a tough guy for instance. he'd be more unsettling in general.
mr. brown - jack nicholson
Tumblr media
i think jack nicholson would make mr. brown a lot more outwardly creepy and gross (if this is even possible i mean we are talking about tarantino himself here lmao) but like he would make everything mr. brown says seem straight-up disgusting especially the opening monologue (which, come to think of it, would be interesting because the 70s-80s pop culture references of reservoir dogs would have been 50s-60s references in this version)
mr. blond - james caan
Tumblr media
this one was the hardest to pick for some reason? i had a few ideas for mr. blond but honestly this makes the most sense and i think he would really play up mr. blond's careless and nonchalant attitude towards violence.
i feel like this post is the most mentally ill hing i've ever made and probably just a shout into the void but it felt criminal not to share this when i was so dead set on some of these ideas. if anyone has any thoughts please feel free to share.

On the Could've Been Victorious Emperor Paradox's timeline
So, I am a massive fan of @doctornolonger 's canon-weld of the post-The End of Time "Time Lord Victorious" Tenth Doctor being the same individual as the Emperor who appeared in the late Eighth Doctor Adventures (to be specific, Father Time and The Gallifrey Chronicles) and Miranda comics
Recently Ryan Fogarty (on the doctor who discord server) came up with an idea that one of the Could've Been Kings (for Caan mentioned there were multiple) might be the Time Lord Victorious, travelled back into the Time War. To be clear, he didn't reference the Emperor Weld, but I'm doing it here.
Yet another weld I'm adding to this is the idea that the Grandfather Paradox we see in The Ancestor Cell is the Doctor, from after the War ended and he travelled back to pretend to be the true Grandfather. (I actually prefer the interpretation that Doctor Paradox is Eight from the a timeline where he kept interfering in the War and went mad, rather than a neat time loop, but I'm willing to use the Looped version for this weld).
So, heres the order of events as I see them right now:
The Eighth Doctor accidentally gets pulled into the War, eventually resulting in him departing from it and entering the/a post-War universe (this is almost functionally the same as ending the war, but the terminology of "ending", I do not like for stuff like this)
The post-war Eighth Doctor goes and does shit, including interacting with the Emperor, an evil future version of himself.
The portion of the post-war continuum the Eighth Doctor currently inhabits "leaks back into (a version of) the pre-war universe" (inspired by a continuity note from @familyparadox 's timeline post)
War Doctor path:
The Eighth Doctor experiences the Big Finish Eighth Doctor Adventures (a.k.a 8DAs), plus The Eighth Doctor: Time War
The Eighth Doctor regenerates into the War Doctor on Karn
The Last Great Time War occurs, with the War Doctor burning Gallifrey (COMIC: Sky Jacks)
--
(these are here to get the count back up to four to be consistent)
--
Or, the Eighth Doctor just lives his life all the ay through the Time War and Doctor Who and the Time War happens
Either Eight or War regenerate into the Ninth Doctor
Ninth Doctor regenerates into the Tenth Doctor
Tenth Doctor interacts with River Song, who recognises him and explicitly calls out Byzantium as something he may have already experienced (which in TV Continuity, 11 does)
Tenth Doctor realises he could bend the Laws of Time to his will in The Waters of Mars
Tenth Doctor realises he could "become so much more" in The End of Time, and does
He becomes the Emperor, interacts with his past self, and births Miranda with River Song
Travels back into the Time War and becomes a Could've Been King
Ends the War as a fake Grandfather Paradox, destroying Gallifrey in its first/last day of the war
Regenerates into... okay I'm just bullshitting by now, but Rowan Atkinson. I mean, the Grandfather was insane and now he's turned into a pastiche, makes sense
The Thirteenth Doctor (from the Curse of Fatal Death) ends up back in the War (PROSE: The War) along with some pop culture characters (they're all licensed by the BBC)

When it comes to JAG and the forever-expanding NCIS Universe that it begat, “It’s all connected” (if we may borrow a phrase from Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb).
A spinoff of JAG, the NCIS mothership on March 28 will crossover with its own latest offshoot, NCIS: Hawai’i, in back-to-back episodes that send Special Agents Nick Torres and Jessica Knight to the Aloha State (with a couple other NCIS cast members appearing if not going along for the ride).
NCIS: Hawai’i had its first quasi-crossover of sorts when an early episode of the freshman CBS drama revealed the role that none other than Leroy Jethro Gibbs played in nudging alone Jane Tennant’s own career as an NCIS Special Agent. But the official two-part crossover event will solidify NCIS: Hawai’i‘s place in the Extended JAG/NCIS Universe (JNCISU?).
On this special occasion, TVLine revisits many of the ways that JAG and NCIS characters have visited other CBS series (including one instance you might have forgotten about!), either in one-off or recurring guest spots, or in one- or two-way crossover events.
Which of these crossed streams/character team-ups do you most fondly recall?
JAG
NCIS‘ backdoor spinoff pilot came in the form of a JAG Season 8 two-parter, in which Special Agent Gibbs’ team investigated the murder of a lieutenant — and Commander Harmon “Harm” rabb Jr.’s possible role in it. In addition to Mark Harmon, future NCIS cast members Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and David McCallum appeared in the planted pilot, as Tony, Abby and Ducky.
In the years since, JAG characters such as Harm, Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie, Lt. Bud Roberts and Rear Admiral A.J. Chegwidden have popped up on NCIS: Los Angeles and or NCIS.
Fun fact: NBC pretty famously bailed on JAG after one season, at which point CBS “saved” the military/legal drama and eventually spun it off into a 40-season (and counting?) NCIS franchise.
NCIS
In addition to the backdoor pilot episodes that eventually sired NCIS: Los Angeles (at the end of Season 6) and NCIS: New Orleans (near the end of Season 11), NCIS has received visits from JAG characters such as Lt. Bud Roberts (played by Patrick Labyorteaux, pictured), Rear Admiral A.J. Chegwidden (John M. Jackson) and Faith Coleman (Alicia Coppola).
Next up: NCIS Hawai’i Special Agent Jane Tennant (played by Vanessa Lachey) helps kick off NCIS‘ two-part crossover with its latest spinoff.
NCIS: LOS ANGELES
In addition to receiving early-on visits from NCIS‘ Abby, Tony (pictured) and Director Leon Vance, NCIS: LA in Season 3 had a two-way crossover with Hawaii Five-0‘s Danny Williams and Chin Ho Kelly (played by Scott Caan and Daniel Dae Kim), while Kensi went stag to Five-0 during its second season.
More recently, JAG leads David James Elliott and Catherine Bell reprised their roles as Harm and Mac for an arc at the end of LA’s 10th season, while John M. Jackson has thus far made a half dozen appearances as JAG‘s Chegwidden.
HAWAII FIVE-0
In addition to the aforementioned Season 2 visit from NCIS: LA‘s Kensi (who was enlisted by Joe White to review a video of John McGarrett with Governor Jameson and Wo Fat), Five-0 had a full-on two-way crossover with NCIS: Los Angeles the following season.
Five-0 also had a two-way crossover with Magnum P.I. (though neither Alex O’Loughlin nor Scott Caan were involved), and Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park and Taylor Wily once guest-starred on MacGyver as Chin Ho, Kono and Kamekona.
MACGYVER
The Season 1 episode “Flashlight” saw Mac & Co. get an assist from Hawaii Five-0‘s Chin Ho Kelly and Kono Kalakaua, with Kamekona also putting in an appearance.
Also, after Five-0 had signed off, Jorge Garcia popped by MacGyver as conspiracy theorist Jerry Ortega, reuniting the actor with fellow Lost alum Henry Ian Cusick.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS
NCIS: New Orleans during its seven-season run enjoyed visits from NCIS characters such as Ducky, former FBI agent Tobias Fornell (played by Joe Spano), CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin (Diane Neal, pictured) and SECNAV Sarah Porter (Leslie Hope).
SCORPION
Early into Scorpion‘s freshman run, NCIS: Los Angeles front woman Linda Hunt guest-starred as Hetty Lange, who was recruited to help Walter’s team look the part as they went undercover to protect a priceless art exhibit.
MAGNUM P.I.
In addition to its two-way crossover with fellow island drama Hawaii Five-0 — which involved Meaghan Rath, Katrina Law, and Beulah Koale as Tani Rey, Quinn Liu and Junior Reigns — Magnum is no stranger to guest appearances by the likes of Kimee Balmilero as Dr. Noelani Cunha, Dennis Chun as Sgt. Duke Lukela, Taylor Wily’s Kamekona and Shawn Mokuahi Garnett’s Flippa.
(As for the issue of the Magnum, P.I. TV show’s theme song having once been sung by Five-0 characters, that was “explained” here.)
NCIS: HAWAI'I
In Part 1 of the two-way crossover — airing Monday, March 28 at 9/8c and titled “Starting Over” – NCIS’ Special Agent Nick Torres (played by Wilmer Valderrama) gets invited by NCIS Special Agent Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) to come to Hawai’i, when she gets a lead on a witness from a case they worked on together.

James Caan, ‘The Godfather’ and ‘Misery’ Star, Dies at 82
James Caan, whose indelible, Oscar-nominated performance as Sonny Corleone, the recklessly hotheaded son of Marlon Brando’s Mafia don in “The Godfather,” is sure to be remembered as long as there are gangster movies, died on Wednesday, his family announced in Twitter. He was 82.

That is a lot of memorable movies for one guy.  Small ones (Way of the Gun, Bottle Rocket), big ones (That’s My Boy), scuzzy ones (Freebie and the Bean, Elf, I never saw the original Toback Gambler but feels like a good bet it’d fall here), sci-fi movies (Alien Nation), and everything else (The Godfather, Thief, Misery, El Dorado).  I always liked how got so horny after one of his four divorces that he just moved into the Playboy Mansion.  I liked when he’d pop up on twitter.
Probably a complicated guy, considering, Trump supporting karate men tend to be and all, one of those guys who got to exist pretty happily pre-Me Too, who knows what it’d have been like with him today, but still:  one of the best guys they’d go to when a movie needed someone who would signal to an audience, “Okay, this guy right here is a Real Guy, you know, one of those ‘men’ you’ve read about in your encyclopedias, nerds.”  We don’t have enough of those guys anymore-- only Ezra Miller is left-- and it’s hard to imagine anyone named Chris having two sentences in their Wikipedia Personal Life section as good as these two:
“[His son] Scott Caan's godfather is Colombo crime family boss Andrew Russo.”
“In 1994, he was arrested after being accused by a Los Angeles rap artist of pulling a gun on him."
