Your post the other day about the slug that had lost it's face has finally converted me to slug appreciation. Was already a big fan of snails (am an environmental archaeologist and archaeological snail shells are wonderful environmental proxies) and had been slowly getting a bigger appreciation of slugs as I've been on a couple of slug/snail courses for work. I've been stopping to watch them on the way to work now, luckily I leave early and live close to work!
I met with a group of representatives from the New England Aquarium today and as I was giving them a tour of the facility I pointed out a slug on the ground and we all gathered around the slug taking pictures and excitedly talking about what a good slug it was
