Classic Doom's aesthetic perfectly balances the line between cozy retro vibes and dark ominous zones full of danger and death. There are some pretty chill looking hellforts and techbase lounges, except for all the meat floors, mangled corpses strewn about, pits of dangerous liquids, crushers, bottomless pits, switch puzzles, and explosive barrels all over the place. Oh, also all the demons. Definitely the demons
Going live with a stream! Today I'm joined by my long time buds Gifty, Bumblequinn, Osiris Kalev, Rustyslacker, and Fatal. We're playing John Romero's SIGIL II!
DOOM OR BE DOOMED!! -- ALL IN SHADES OF BLOODY RED.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on North American artwork for "The Ultimate DOOM: Thy Flesh Consumed" PC game, first published by id Software in 1995. Designed for the EU/ NA markets. Windows version pictured, and also available on DOS and Macintosh. Artwork by "Don Ivan Punchatz."
ART OVERVIEW: "Credited as Don Ivan Punchatz, the artwork looks to be a photo of what is more probably one of Gregor Punchatz’s original clay/latex models. The models were photographed and digitally reworked, creating the in-game demons. Don Ivan Punchatz’s logo again used."
