The AI can seem pretty cheap sometimes.Įven though the moves are already limited enough, with really just a three move combo being your longest attack, the pace of attacks is uninterrupted after every attack since the opponent who gets hit becomes invincible for a couple seconds. The computer always knows when an object is around however, so regardless of whether you can see it or not, it'll immediately take off for it, putting you at an overall disadvantage. You can usually only see a small section of the level, so when any object spawns outside of your viewing area you won't know it's appeared right away. You'll find yourself at a major disadvantage if you don't make use of the objects in the level, but the computer will often out-race you to them and get a hold of them first. The main way that you cause damage is to pick up a nearby object and toss it at your opponent, which is how the game can get a little aggravating. You can pull off a quick three move combo by pressing punch three times, but you can't really string kicks together or mix it in with the punches, so you really only have two melee attack options - punch three times or kick. You can punch and kick, but they're about as basic as possible. You have a very limited amount of options available for you to battle with.

Completing the single player mode unlocks secret characters for future use, while the versus mode allows multiplayer action for up to four players, through the use of a multi-tap adaptor. Four play modes are provided: single-player, Versus, Tag Team, and Team play. Still this is the best game of its type that I have played on the XBOX. Minor control issues, short short single player and pretty poor documentation keep this game from being perfect.

Some stages will see players accosted by a sea serpent, while others will force them to contend with tornadoes and avalanches. Console Fighting Games of 2002 - Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers

Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers was developed by VIS Entertainment for the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox. The latter two would have to wait until 2003 for the game to release with just the PS2 version releasing in 2002 in the US. 

Like the GameCube and Xbox version Europe would have to wait until 2003 for the PS2 version of the game. Another Power Stone like arena fighting game, this time it is Tom and Jerry that take on this type of fighting game with the classic animated duo joined by several other regular characters from the tv show on offer with Butch, Spike, Tyke, Robot Cat, Eagle, Lion, Nibbles, Monster Jerry, and Duckling joining the pair along with a multitude of weapons to batter Tom.

Always was a big fan of Tom and Jerry)). Not only classic shorts, or “tales” (heck, even later seasons of 2014 version were cool), but comics as well. Specifically Oscar Martin ones, that man understand movement better than anyone.
