WHAT IF?!?!
So there is a Trunk of Treating event happening at the school I work for. Would it be crazy if I volunteered to set up a Wild Kratts Trunk? And I dressed like Zach to hand out the treats?
If you guys think I should, could you give me some suggestions on how to decorate, please? Thank you! If you have any suggestions, you can reply/reblog this post or send an ask!

*Gives out candy*
Went to a trunk or treat in this blacked out costume, saw two other plague doctors lol...
...And would wip off the mask if I accidentally terrify children

I’m doing Trunk or Treat tonight.
(Here’s a link about what trunk or treat is for my mutuals who may not live in the USA or have just otherwise never heard of it)
The theme I picked is Scooby Doo! The entire trunk of my car is decked out with as much Scooby Doo as I possibly could! I’m giving out Scooby Snacks and those Mystery Incorporated Fruit Snacks. And I’m going to be dressed up as our favorite mystery solving Great Dane.
The kiddos are gonna love it. Gotta raise a new generation of Dootuals!
I’m so excited. 🎃

Me: *prepares my props and Krampus costume for my Trunk-or-Treat facade*
Me: *begins to low-key start another WIP story where Krampus goes up against the House of Kringle (North Pole's "parliament" run by elves) and goes on a rebellion alongside other Yuletide legends to stop a worldwide consumerist conspiracy*

Happy Halloween to all my fellow Christians out there!
On this day 506 years ago, a university professor named Martin Luther dropped a letter in the mail - a letter we know as the 95 Theses - and unintentionally started the Protestant Reformation.
A holiday we know for its costumes and candy became the day that gave birth to the churches we attend each Sunday - Lutheran, Anglican, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Reformed, Methodist, Baptist, and Pentecostal.
In October of 2020, while many cities, towns, and neighborhoods were debating whether or not to even have trick-or-treating, it was our churches that saved Halloween - by having drive through trick-or-treating and trunk-or-treats.
While it is tempting to write off Halloween as a day that belongs to witches, ghosts, darkness, and Satan, nothing could be further from the truth - Psalms 118:24 still stands true - even on Halloween.
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Don’t join the witches in their dancing and incantations - Don’t join the demons in their prideful revelry and drunkenness.
You and I have more important things to do - Let’s get busy rejoicing.
The only ghost that Halloween belongs to is the Holy Ghost.

I say this every year but I don't understand the logic behind trunk-or-treats. Children going up to a neighbor's house for candy = bad. Children going to the trunk of someone's car under the promise of candy = good???

Hot take: I fucking hate the idea of trunk or treat because it destroys the true feeling of joy and semi independence that comes with trick or treating.
For reference I live in an apartment complex; the prime spot for trick or treating and barely half of the bowl was taken. Keep in mind I am very generous when giving out candy like I give out handfuls and even still like 65% of the bowl of candy was left.
I believe that trunk or treat is to blame. Mostly because of helicopter parents who god forbid can’t watch their kid walk down a block to get candy. No, instead you have your child walk down a Wendy’s parking lot for 15 minutes and then go home. WHERES THE FUN THAT!?
Like half the fun of trick or treating is being able to have the freedom of walking through the neighborhood and getting candy, its a liberating and whimsical experience especially for a small child.
And the reason for this sick perversion of this core childhood experience is: “oh I don’t want my kid getting lost/stolen!” HERES AN IDEA SHELLY **HAVE YOUR KID GO IN A GROUP!!!** Its not only safer but more fun to go trick or treating with a group!
Tldr: trunk or treating is a dogshit replacement for trick or treating and is slowly killing the holiday

Pretty tired of seeing the posts from adults being crybabies about truck or treat. Nobody stopping y’all from taking your kids to houses too?? It’s just an addition to trick or treat?? Like why are people complaining about it. I loved it as a kid because it meant more candy ??? Like why can’t they coexist

Making DIY Body Bags!
The "bodies" have candy buckets taped to them, where the abdomen/stomach would be, and they were filled with candy!
The intestines are made of aluminum foil, formed into squiggly noodles, then painted red and taped onto the bottom of the buckets.
