My fav thing about having type 2 inflammation is how patients knew it existed before doctors did.

Patients had stomach problems/IBS, allergies, asthma, eczema, etc., and when they went to the doctor to get oral medication for their asthma, they noticed their eczema would clear up.

The doctors were like you're lying, it's a coincidence, you're just less stressed.

Then, it turned out, no, these things are all tied together, and there are medications (usually biologics) that can tamp down the immune reactions that happen simultaneously all over the body.

Some doctor could have figured this out years ago if they just listened to their patients connecting the dots.

ive been having an allergic reaction on my hands for 18 hours now. wtf bro 🥲 this was from this morning, you can see how swollen my hands are and i have a weird rash too. not sure what's going on or if it's related to dyshidrotic eczema bc i have that rn too but normally that's just intensely itchy little bumps on my fingers and not the swelling or rashes

eczema is kicking my ass rn i can't type with my right hand without pain and earlier i was trying to clip my cats' nails but ended up having to stop bc the curling motion with my fingers to grasp the clippers literally made my hand start bleeding :///

Well my car broke down in traffic and then broke down two more times in the parking lot and the shop has no idea what’s wrong, I need to take my cat to the vet, and I’m currently disabled (but with a diagnosis! So that’s progress!) and completely unemployed so if anyone could spare literally a dollar to my P*ypal @charliew86 that would be massively appreciated

i used to get eczema on my hands occasionally when i was at uni and i think i've had one or two flare ups since i left but over the past few weeks it's just gotten so extreme like the worst it's ever been and it's spread to my chest now and like i truly cannot find the cause. when i was in uni i would get flare ups from stress or caffeine or a few things i was allergic to but i've changed out all my soaps and stuff and i've cut out caffeine and the only thing stressing me out is the eczema so like i have absolutely no idea what's causing it or why it's so bad. help.

It feels kinda alienating when your body is just fucked up enough that you can't quite call yourself able bodied but can still get around well enough you don't feel like you can say you're disabled

#ive got constant pain in my fingers but its not bad enough i cant endure it #my knee got fucked up when i was a kid so i walk with a slight limp #idk why but i just cant bring myself to move at a fast pace #im depressed but hey im still here so it cant be that bad right? #probably have adhd or some other kinda neurodivergence cuz im awful at switching tasks in a timely manner and forgetful as hell #ive got an auditory processing disorder that makes it hard to make out what people are saying #ive got visual snow effects permanently in my vision which only really becomes an issue when i have a migraine #i get migraines #i have constant tinnitus but at this point i just kinda tune it out #ive got such a small about of dexterity i cant even type #ive got chronic IBS so i shit too often and too poorly #all and all my body is just slightly fucked up in ways that make it feel like im just an inadequate version of a fully able bodied person #i can still do things but i can never do them well and it feels shitty #oh ive got an overactive gag reflex so i vomit like 1/3 times i brush my teeth #ive got eczema that makes my skin blister if i wash dishes more than like twice a week #every pore on my biceps is basically ingrown and is mostly scar tissue from me ripping them open to free the hair stuck inside #im allergic to banana peppers and bell peppers

HELLO, I’ve been in this eczema situation- taking vitamin d with vitamin k helps THE MOST (a good brand with a USP seal or look at Labdoor) -When having a night alone, moisturize heavily and put on cheap knit winter gloves before bed (A&D ointment from the baby aisle is good, but smells & has fish oil) -Avoid washing hands or dishes in super hot water, do warm water -Spray hand sanitizer instead of gel -Get gentle hand soap (any gentle bar soap or ethique liquid hand soap concentrate) -Gold bond eczema lotion after showering or washing hands -Before chores or anything that might irritate hands, apply a thin layer of lanolin, vaseline, coconut oil, etc. (don’t do this before sex if it will be bad for your partner, or damage toys or condoms/barriers) IF ANY ECZEMA REMAINS, YOU EARNED IT, BE PROUD
