🚀 Do you like to outline your fic first or create as you go?

I used to just create as you go, but I realized that wasn't very efficent and led to unfinished fanfics that would leave readers unsatisfied :( So now I outline everything and I still can't finish fics :,)

👓 What helps you focus when you write?

My ADHD is terrible so focusing is such a hard thing to control. I think the closest I can do that helps me is listening to instrumental music that fits the scenes I'm writing.

🌻 How often do you read your own fics?

Usually I reread the fics I'm working on several times from beginning to the point I'm currently on or start from a previous chapter and so forth. Sometimes I go back to some of my older fics and read them to see if my writing still holds. That's when I self loathe and put them away lol;

💭 What inspires you and your writing?

I think it's a mix of other people's works, the media I'm writing for, and the ship itself. Plus the original work I'm adapting into an AU for my fandom. My Circus AU is a huge mix of several other works like AHSfreakshow, The Greatest Showman, Nightmare Alley, The Night Circus, Water for Elephants, etc...

notes: Just a bit of garbage I wrote whilst feeling things, sleep deprived, at 4am. I’m rlly sorry this is poorly written, my vocabulary seemed to shrink lmao, I swear I normally write better on other writing sites :/

The bold italics are flashbacks :)

My stare focused on the small ripples in the water that were caused by my slow and shallow breaths. Droplets of water escaped the shower head, splashing almost silently into the bath I had been laying in for the past hour. I didn’t care if my feet and hands were all wrinkled. I didn’t care that the water was now cold. I didn’t care for anything.

With a tired movement, my hand reached out of the bath, to pick up my phone. Without thinking, my fingers somehow opened the gallery. I knew what I was searching for wasn’t healthy, I knew that remembering would just plunge me deeper into the darkness. But I couldn’t help it.

The small photographed memories flickered across the screen, one by one, until I froze on the one I’d been thinking of. I recognised myself, barely though. That was the girl who wore a smile, the girl who was so hopelessly in love, with her. My eyes drifted to the blonde angel, who’s arm was draped around my shoulders. Her.

Tears prickled my eyes, remembering the pink rose perfume, the faint tobacco smell that always seemed to lure me in. Her smile, those pearly white teeth that could brighten up a whole room.

Her.

My eyes closed, wondering what it would be like to be held in her arms once more. Just once. As if she never left.

“Hey honey, come here.” She gestured to her lap, and I happily settled down there, soon to be engulfed in a warm hug. “I love you, (Y/N).”

A lump grew in my throat, but I shook my head in annoyance, there was no point in remembering now that it was over.

Eyes fixed on the pavement, my feet took one step after the other, beginning the walk to the store. It wasn’t too far, just fifteen minutes, but it was enough for me to lose myself in though, again.

Being so lost in my thoughts, I hadn’t realised that it had started to rain. It was only until a loud honk of a car that I realised. Somehow I had come to a halt in the middle of the street. I knew why though. A previous memory had surfaced, as much as I tried to force it away.

“Do you remember The Notebook? When they lay in the empty road at night?” She held onto my hand, spinning me around. My spare hand clutched onto the umbrella, laughing in amusement.

“Mhm, of course. But I don’t think it was pouring at the same time.” I pointed to the rain falling from the darkened sky.

“Well why don’t we recreate it, but better.” She didn’t give me a chance to consider, just grabbing the umbrella and throwing it to the side, then dragging me down to lay on the road.

“What are you thinking? We’re already drenched, wh-“ My panicked yells were cut off when she placed a finger on my lips.

“Shh, you worry too much.” A few damp strands of blonde fell across her face, and I simultaneously brushed them away, staring deep into her eyes. Not many people in the world had the privilege of seeing this soft side of her. And I was so incredibly lucky to see that side all the time.

My mouth opened to remind her how perfect she was, but I didn’t, knowing that there were simply no words that could describe her beauty.

Jolting back to reality, I ran quickly over the crossing, ignoring the angry gesture made from the driver who’d been held up by me standing in the middle of the road from that precious memory.

Soon I found myself stationed in front of isle four, in the store. The walk from that road to here had gone by in a blur. I shook my head, I was being pathetic. I needed to move on and stop dwelling over the past. After scanning the rows of packaging, my hand moved forward to pick up a cereal box, but before I could, the light noise of high heels against the floor stopped me in my tracks. I would recognise the sound of that walk anywhere.

“So, what do you think of these? They’re new!” The blonde beauty exclaimed excitedly. Chuckling, I looked up from my book, and immediately smiled, seeing my girlfriend in new, red, five inch heels.

“They’re lovely, you’re beautiful.”

In response, she let out that angelic and infectious laugh.

“Oh my darling (Y/N), you’re too kind to me.”

The buzz of the store faded away, all I could hear was the heavy thumping of my heart. I was frozen stiff, my arm still outstretched and staring at the box. And if it wasn’t for the voice, I’m sure I would have stayed in that state for a while.

“(Y/N).. is that you?”

My head finally turned, slowly.

And there she was. Her.

“B-Billie..?” I mumbled in shock. It was then that I took in the full sight I had longed so much to see.

Her golden hair laid comfortably down her shoulders. She wore a pink silk blouse, tucked into a smart black pencil skirt. And of course those heels I so vividly remembered.

This, this woman in front of me, was Billie Dean Howard.

“Hi..” Billie’s red lips barely parted, evidently just as shocked as I was.

“W-what are you doing here?” I tried hard to sound somewhat normal, but my voice raised to a higher pitch, ultimately failing miserably.

“Getting some groceries..” She stated the obvious, clearly avoiding the true questioned.

“I mean, what are you doing here.” This time my voice was firmer, swallowing down my nerves.

“I didn’t expect to see you here, I was going to come to your place tomorrow and tell you..” It was Billie’s voice that wavered this time.

“Tell me what? You made it pretty clear you weren’t coming back here. And I thought I’d be the last person you’d want to see.”

Billie sighed deeply, playing with one of her bangles, I knew to be a habit of hers in certain situations.

“I.. I had to come back.” She stated, as if it were so simple.

“Oh I understand. For work. It’s always work. Why would you come to my place to talk if the only reason you’re here is because of the job?”

“No, honey, that’s not wh-“

“Stop!”

My eyes widened, shocked at myself for yelling that single word. Billie too blinked a few times, as we both knew I wasn’t type for do something like that.

“D-don’t call me that. Y-you can’t.” Emotion filled my words, clenching my fists as a way to hold myself together.

“I came back for you.”

I fell silent, mouth hung open in shock.

“Don’t be stu-“ And then I was cut across, hearing four words that I had spent weeks longing to hear.

“I still love you.”

But it didn’t feel the way I thought it word. Instead I grew angry.

“How dare you! It’s been five months. You left, because moving ten states away for your job was more important than staying here and just loving me.” I could sense the whole store falling silent, and I didn’t blame them, I wasn’t exactly being quiet.

“I-I know.. and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I’m so sorry, so unbelievably sorry. I don’t know why I did it. But I need you, (Y/N), I just can’t live without you.”

I should have stayed angry. I had the right to just turn around and leave, like she had done to me.

Her face crumpled, tears flowing down her porcelain cheeks as she expected me to go. Seeing her cry automatically made my heart ache, when Billie cried I used to always be the one to hold her, and tell her everything would be okay.

But feet stayed rooted to the ground, unable to tear my glassy eyes away from her watery brown opals. And I knew, I wouldn’t leave. I couldn’t now she had come back for me.

Because it was her. My Billie Dean Howard. How could I ever leave her? It was impossible. She had always and will always be my world.

“Billie?” I asked absentmindedly, my eyes closed as she stroked my cheek.

“Mhm?” She hummed in reply, smiling.

My voice was almost afraid, like I was scared she’d one day leave. “Will you always love me?”

“Forever.”

-He really doesn’t care all that much, but when he sees that you care, he might just slick his hair back and bring wine

-Considering he’s dead, it’s a little awkward when you’re like “Hey, Tate and I are dating!”

-and Tate just says, unphased “And I’ve been dead since 1994!”

-He’s not really stressed at all about it. He shakes hands (to his ability ofc) and probably thanks your mother for making a hottie, which obviously takes her aback

-keeps whispering judgements in your ear about your parents

-they think he’s alright... but are more glad that you’re happy

Kit Walker:

-nervous, but is slightly confident and very optimistic

-puts the kids in pretty clothes and tells them to be nice and respectful but is mostly just talking to himself

- ”We gotta be nice to them, alright? I want to make them my family too.”

-he brings your mother a bouquet of pretty flowers that the kids helped pick and he spent ten minutes trimming. He chuckles nervously a lot but otherwise, he presents himself as a charming father who is in love with their child

-talks to your father about cars and talks to your mother about your childhood and they like him and the children very much

Pre-Death Kyle Spencer:

--Nervous wreck, but he doesn’t show it when he does meet them. Beforehand, he’s pacing, changes his shirt forty times and rubs his eyes over and over so that maybe he’ll look more lively.

- “Do I look like a dick?”

- ”No, Kyle, you look fine.”

- ”I feel like I look like a dick.”

-He doesn’t know what to do with his hair and stresses over that

-Your parents welcome him in and he is very stiff-standing. It’s a little awkward, but he shakes hands and eventually warms up as the time goes on. He tells his awful dad jokes which your father enjoys and your mom thinks he’s sweet

Post-Death Kyle Spencer:

-You present the idea which makes him nervous more than anything else. You find him rocking on his bed, hands in his hair and go to comfort him and tell him it’ll be alright

-You help him get ready and fill him in on what your parents are like and he nods, still stressing out.

-Once at your parents' place, Kyle picks a single flower from the garden outside and brings it in for your mother. You tell them that Kyle is a little challenged from an accident he was in and they entirely understand

-Kyle tries to help your mom in the kitchen but knocks over the sugar bowl. He’s forgiven, it’s not a big deal, but he immediately starts stressing again and you hug him to calm him down

-At dinner, Kyle uses his proper manners and makes sure to tell your parents how he really feels about you.

- “I... love... them.” He points with his fork at you, which your mother finds adorable. They like him.

Jimmy Darling:

-Prepared to charm his way to your parents’ hearts. Washes up, shaves, slicks back his hair, put on a nice shirt and actually does it up. He’s pretty much ready to go until he looks in the mirror at his hands and shrinks back a bit.

- “Are you sure your parents want you dating a freak?” He asks, putting on his gloves. You know he doubts himself as a person because of his hands so you stand in front of him and tell him it doesn’t matter. He sighs, but sticks it out.

- Your parents don’t notice his hands, which surprises Jimmy a lot. He brought dessert and your mother took it gratefully to the kitchen, right from his hands without staring.

-Your father shakes Jimmy’s hand without making a face or staring and Jimmy is filled with a feeling of welcome that he’s never really had before. His charm comes back and he engages in conversation

-Does accidentally make a sex joke but your parents just laugh at it. They enjoy his company and think that you two are a match made in heaven.

-On the way out your mother says, “Better bring me some babies soon!” and Jimmy looks at you and shrugs, but really is just wallowing in how great it feels that she doesn’t care at all about his deformity.

I hate everyone after season 4 so that’s where I must end!
