So having read the bridgerton spouse group chats by you and bridgerton family group chats by @holybatgirlz I’ve realised Benedict seems to always been one of the ones getting injured during family games night…
Does Sophie ever ban him from playing after an Injury or flat out refuse to go after she’s had all four kids and Benedict ends up back in hospital and ends up out of action for a few weeks meaning Sophie has four kids and a husband to tend to (and forces the injuring causing party to wait on him hand and foot for the duration of his Convalescence)
Also on another point… reading these makes me wanna write a family games night fic 😂😂
I feel like by the time all the spouses are married in and as they all start their families that Bridgerton game nights would become a bit calmer - only fractionally, but enough that the hospital visits aren't as frequent and the injuries sustained are far less serious. Though the Bridgertons (and Kate) remain insanely competitive to a terrifying degree, the spouses manage to limit game nights to once a year at most and then following the annual game night the spouses make it very clear how little they care for the family's version of a casual night of board/parlour games, and at the very least some of the Bridgertons take their partners feelings on board and attempt to mellow their competitiveness (kinda).
But with that being said, just because the injuries at game nights wind down, doesn't mean casualties don't occur through other competitive dumbass means...

Sophie: Basically they were using an assortment of items like hurling banana peels and pouring out oil on the track to make the others slip, they were throwing frisbees and balls at each other which were meant to be like shells and they had a variety of water/nerf/BB guns to take each other out that way. All of which contributed to the massive pile up that caused most of their injuries.

Sophie: She was but she had the visor open after Eloise sprayed it over with paint which was how she ended up getting shot.

Help me find this picture book?
So I've posted about this before, but it's been a few years and it's been on my mind lately. I'm trying to find a picture book from my childhood (so 1990s and very early 2000s) that I can't for the life of me remember the name of. And Google has been very unhelpful despite years of searching. The last time I posted, some people remembered reading the book, but they also couldn't remember the title. I asked my mom and she just straight up didn't remember the book's existence. 😑
The book is about a kitten who has been left by the mother cat. The mother cat felt it wasn't safe where they were (which might have been under a porch) and brings him somewhere else. A woman finds him (or her? can't remember that either) and takes him in, and she owns two other cats: an orange cat named Pumpkin and a tuxedo cat who is kind of snarky (can't remember his name though).
And that's all I've got....
Does anyone know this book? Or remember anything else about it that I could put into a Google search (since what I have is clearly not enough). I would be eternally grateful for any help solving this multi-year mystery.

Hello! I'm back for another rant :)
I was still thinking about Mihoyo's tendency to pair characters and play the ambiguity game to make more money and something I've noticed is that people will jump through sooo many hoops to defend the company. ''oh they can't be explicit because of censorship'', ''oh it's China, their culture is different!'' or even ''stupid entitled westerners always complaining about things they don't even try to understand smh 🙄''
Now, while I can agree that censorship and culture should be taken into account when talking about these games, I also feel like it's a bit disingenuous and lowkey patronising to chalk it all up to ''the Chinese are just all like that lol''
Like, why are we so vehemently defending a company that makes millions (if not billions) through ship teasing, as you've put before? Censorship does not change the fact that the development that characters get in these games (especially Genshin) goes out the window every other event or as soon as the main story is finished. And whenever I hear someone talk about censorship, I always think about Mo Dao Zu Shi (granted, the situation was different in its case so we should take it with a grain of salt) where its donghua and drama adaptations where indeed censored (but they were much more explicit than whatever's going on in Hoyoverse), yet the novel (the source material) had many MANY chapters with its two male leads going at it
I admit that I've been feeling a bit salty recently (because I feel like people only care about coding when it comes to the 'great' questions of ''OK but do these two men FUCK? How many times a day do they go at it and who's the woman in this ship??'' Meanwhile nobody ever talks about different dynamics, asexuality and aromanticism are seen as boring, and oh lord does bisexuality seem to be often treated as a trump card to say ''ok but this character is at least 50% gay'') and I also don't know that much about how everything works in China, but idk, I guess my point is that if they wanted to make ships canon, they WOULD (or could) find a way to do so
Anyway, your recent posts and asks also got me thinking and I guess I wanted to show you some support! I've seen your bio and I think it's a really smart move on your part to be clear on what you don't feel comfortable with from the get go. It can definitely be awkward when you have to tell someone that's just really excited to share their thoughts on something they enjoy that you're not interested and you'd rather not talk about this AT ALL. And it really does not help that popular ships tend to attract a lot of unhinged behaviour 😑 It's really refreshing to come across content creators like you, who are very clear in their boundaries and write such thoughtful fics
Once again, I hope you will be left to do your own thing in peace and that you'll keep finding ways and solutions for you to enjoy your favourite works without feeling alienated 💜

Haha, short rants don't exist, Anon! It's perfectly okay to type long rants to me, I don't mind. If anything, I relish in them. As someone who rants and complains a lot myself, I welcome it when someone else does it. 😊 (I mean, just look at the length of my reply. I am not any better than you, dear Anon)
Lord, the "Mihoyo can't show explicit gay ships because of the CCP censorship" excuse grates on my nerves, as well. Censorship of homosexuality is definitely a thing in China, and it can sometimes be very horrible, but that's not what's stopping Mihoyo from making certain ships canon. They got way with a lot of lesbian ships in Honkai 3rd (though admittedly they had to tone it down once new laws were implemented, but the fact remains that at some point they were able to be blatant about their ships), and if we're talking actual coding, then Jeht being lesbian-coded is a thing that exists! If it was such a huge deal, I feel like Mihoyo would have either been way more subtle about it or not included these things at all.
It's just my personal opinion, but I'm certain that the reason Mihoyo doesn't make any ship canon is for the sake of making money. They need to sell characters, and the best way to do that is to allow players to enjoy characters the way they want. Assigning a specific sexuality or canon ship will crush the interpretations some players have about a character, and make that character unappealing. It would negatively impact their sales. Keeping things vague and only giving teases of the most popular ships seems to be the ideal marketing tactic for them. It panders to a lot more people this way and keeps most of them happy (however, the fact remains that they ignore a particular demographic of women, though that's a story for another time).
Regarding your reasons why people whip out the "coding" card... YOU ARE SO RIGHT! People only use sexuality coding as a way to "prove" their gay ship is canon and discredit any BG pairing. And they focus on things like one guy being muscular and the other more slender, and then assigning traditionally masculine and feminine traits to them, respectively. I could go on a whole separate rant about this topic, but I'll spare you the wall of text. Feminizing one of the guys in a gay ship is one of my biggest pet peeves, especially when it's OOC for the character.
One thing I noticed is that sexuality often gets used as a convenient tool to suit the needs of certain shippers instead of being used for actual diversity.
I can't tell you the amount of times I saw a sexuality tier list where the aromantic and asexual rows were treated as trash bins where people tossed the characters they didn't care about. There's no actual thought put into the sorting, and that's very unfair to actual aro and ace persons.
As for bisexuality... it's such a polarizing topic in fandoms. It's seen as a good thing when you have a canonical BG pairing, because then you can claim one or both are bi and therefore are also attracted to the same sex (as you said, they're "at last 50% gay" and can be shipped in gay pairings). However, if you have a non-canon BL or GL ship, saying one or both characters are bi is tantamount to treason. How dare you suggest they can be attracted to the opposite sex? That's erasing the gay representation!
Basically, bisexuality, much like the term "coding", gets treated like a tool that's allowed to exist only when it's convenient to a person, instead of as an actual sexuality real people have. I feel like bi, aroace, and pansexual people get shafted hard in fandoms in general.
Anyways, thank you for your support, Anon! I mentioned it in another post, but putting your likes and dislikes in the bio is a common practice in the Eastern part of the world, and I chose to copy that. I think it's a good way to meet people with similar interests while also letting those who have opposite interests avoid you. If the BL Anon had checked my bio first before following me, he could have spared himself some trouble haha. Sadly, it seems that many don't look at bios 😢

Please humour me, and thanks in advance for putting up with my rant.
I recently started a rewatch of twd to help pass the time while I wait for twd:dd in September, and this question keeps coming back to me.
How long has Daryl been in love with Carol, while she has no idea? What do you think?
I think from season 1, but he didn't really know it himself till the start of season five, where they reunited in the forest, and since then has either been too scared to do anything about it, too occupied by everything that has happened to the group in the years since to allow himself to feel/pursue it, or he's genuinely felt that he doesn't deserve her/she deserves better, OR all/combination of the above.
Carol, on the other hand, I think only realised the extent of her own feelings at the end of season 11. The looks they shared while Magna's group was crying over Luke (almost like they were so grateful that the other was still alive, and it could have so easily been one of them crying over the other's death), and then the looks again later when they were waiting for Judith to wake up after surgery, really tells me that in those moments they both realised something significant about how they feel for each other, and how a future isn't promised and that they could lose each other for good at any moment.
And don't get me started on their farewell scene because it broke my heart; once again, these two did the selfless thing and put others' safety and happiness over their own. They each decided to go on a journey to help/save someone else. The way Daryl looked back at her for one last time after getting on the bike was almost like he was hoping she'd tell him to stay.
In Judith's words, "You [Daryl] deserve a happy ending too"!!! and he'll only really come to believe this once it's too late and he's stuck across an ocean, trying to get back to them.
And my queen, Carol, will cross an ocean to find him; I'm gonna cry just thinking about it. I love them so much.
Let me know what you think. Am I being delusional? I want to know how someone else sees this.
I’m overdue for a rewatch myself, I just haven’t felt motivated lately. I think there are a lot of clues pointing to Daryl and Carol developing feelings for each other early on like you said, but they *both* needed time to sort it out for themselves. Grief kept piling on over the years, insecurities deepened, and while their love only grew, they both went through periods of believing they weren’t good enough for each other. I think Daryl overcame it in the last couple seasons, hence “I know where I’m supposed to be.” Hence, why Daryl’s alleged uncertainty in the spinoff makes zero sense.
To be completely honest, I hated their last scene(s) together. I hated that one of the most anticipated moments—exchanging I loves you’s—was used to distract the audience from what was really happening i.e. Daryl leaving Carol. I don’t think it was a selfish or a selfless choice on his part because I don’t think there was any emotional realism to it at all. He had a spinoff to get to 🤷🏻♀️😑 I do think Carol was trying to make it easier for Daryl to go, but that just exposes a much sadder truth which is—after 11 seasons and even a time jump of one year—Carol *still* hasn’t healed from her insecurities/trauma. She *still* thinks Daryl could be happier without her. In an EW interview, Melissa chose the song “Crazy” by Patsy Cline to represent the end of Carol’s story. That speaks volumes. There were a handful of characters TWD owed honorable endings and they butchered all of them, but Carol’s was the worst.
The point I’m getting to is no, you aren’t delusional. It’s just that the spinoff has *a lot* to make up for. Do I think it can? Based on what we know about S2, yes. Am I ready to give up my cynicism? No. Not yet, but I hope to soon 😵💫

I found out everything about @mainapnifavouritehoon bad experience with that behenchod through my gc mates last night when everything was over. I feel little bad but not much of regret because "mahila mandali" you all girls slayed. Even if I was here at that time when everything was ongoing I wouldn't have participated and would have watched everything through sidelines while hyping you up because it was moment of female fam, it was to show that moongfali what does "wo stree hai kuch bhi kar sakti hai" means. Summary:
Buck hissed as Eddie cleaned the blood from the cuts littering his face. Eddie muttered an apology and gingerly turned Buck's head to get a better look at the gash at his temple.

Eddie would have to apologize to Hen and Chim later for elbowing them aside as he sat Buck on the ambulance bumper. At least he asked to steal the medkit. It wasn't like they were tending to a patient. And he could've- probably should've- let them handle the situation. But... Well.
Buck hissed as Eddie cleaned the blood from the cuts littering his face. Eddie muttered an apology and gingerly turned Buck's head to get a better look at the gash at his temple.
"Eddie," Buck said softly. Eddie focused on Buck's injuries. As long as he had something to do, he could put off the inevitable emotions surrounding the evening. His heart hadn't stopped racing since Buck disappeared from his sight. If he could just calm down, maybe he wouldn't have to deal with the onslaught of tears he knew would eventually come.
He reached for the butterfly closures. Buck used his good hand to grab Eddie's wrist.
Eddie slowly met his gaze.
"I'm okay," Buck said, swiping his thumb over Eddie's still thundering pulse.
"I know, I just..." Eddie sighed and cupped the back of Buck's neck, leaning over to press a soft kiss to his soot covered forehead. "It was too close, Cariño."
"I know," Buck said. "But it wasn't close enough. I'm a little banged up, that's all."
"If you call a broken collarbone, a concussion, and all the blood a little banged up," Eddie drawled.
"You forgot the split lip," Buck said, actually having to suppress a grin thanks to said injury.
"How could I forget," Eddie grumbled.
They'd been together a total of twelve hours, because Buck decided the start of shift was the perfect time to have a love confession. And all because Eddie made his coffee perfectly. (Why that particular time made Buck finally say something, Eddie didn't know.)
It was adorable, and Eddie thought his heart was going to jump out of his chest and into Buck's warm hands, and he wouldn't trade the moment for the world, but this is one time Eddie would say Buck jinxed them. Not only had Eddie almost lost him- again, he couldn't kiss him like he'd been wanting to for years. The want only got worse after Buck confessed, because as soon as Eddie was going to kiss him, the alarm rang. The shift felt like someone said the q word.

I found Your work (Simon Riley in Situations) on Ao3, & I'm so Grateful 🙏. It is by far my #1 Favourite of "Ghost's" Fanfic of all time.
You're a remarkable Writer, Good Heavens the way you Describe things so Delicate, Intriguing & Beautiful. It got me thinking on how amazing you would be at writing Love Letters ($$$$) 😆.

A life and writing update rolled into one. 🐈
I had every intention of kicking myself into gear to brainstorm, outline, draft, and begin fine-tuning my TyHil Love Countdown entries in time to have a few strong fills to post during the event in November. I came up with what feels like an ambitious, but fun and fulfilling, idea and was in the outlining phase when something derailed my progress.
Last Sunday, I yanked a stray kitten out of some bushes on the side of the highway. She was shivering, starving, and being eaten alive by parasites inside and out. Thankfully, I was able to get her to the vet promptly, and she's making a speedier recovery than I would have ever thought possible. I love her to pieces, but nursing her back to health and balancing her care with my other pets' care, the adjustments that come with a new pet, and all of life's other minutiae has effectively eaten up my free time.
Today is my first real day with some leeway in my schedule. Naturally, I spent a good chunk of my morning feeling personally victimized by my uterus 😑 and I have some things to get done around the house, but I'm going to attempt to finish my outline (my original plan for last weekend) and hopefully set myself up to write some rough drafts this month so I don't wash out of the event entirely.
But, even though I've been feeling frazzled, I'm so beyond grateful for the way things have played out with my newest little friend and very excited for the TyHil content I will eventually have the privilege of putting out into the world. 🤍
P.S. Thank you to @too-raph who's been in the thick of it with me the whole way, from digging through bushes to taking care of the poor little thing when I'm stuck at work. You're a lifesaver!

heyoooo it's ur friendly local biohazard, just having a quick health check in under the cut!
(don't listen to my lies when i say "quick", it's never quick haha)
look at me being all worried about being late to see my doctor when he's away on vacation anyway and I had to chat with a different oncologist lol
So! I haven't really done any ✨Kicking Caesar's Kneecaps✨ chats in a while, so this is me just checking in!
So far my chemo journey has gone
3 months of weekly chemotherapy and hormone antibody treatments
1 month off (bc of peripheral neuropathy damage)
restarting the chemo regime at a 25% lower dose, with the expectation that I'll be needing an additional 3 months (today would mark one month since I restarted!)
BUT HEYYYY guess who has two thumbs that don't work anymore and an increased sensitivity to peripheral neuropathy!!!
(dark humour is dark?)
ok, it's not quite that bad yet. Yet being the operative word unfortunately.
For those who don't know, chemotherapy can effect the peripheral nerves in your body -- for some people, this means damage to nerves in the hands/feet/wrists/arms that can sometimes be permanent.
Not everyone gets nerve damage, and some get it worse than others.
I just so happen to be one of those lucky chumps with sensitive nerves!! While the month long break from chemo certainly helped reduce the intensity, the nerve damage in my hands is definitely spreading again.
What was initially just a bit of numbness/tingliness in the tip of my right thumb has since progressed into;
constant numbness/tingling sensations in my right thumb down to the heel of my thumb
static sensations across both palms and all of my fingers (which fortunately comes and goes)
occasional shooting nerve pain up my right arm, all the way from palm to armpit
extreme nerve sensitivity when I bend both of my wrists
tendon pain in both hands if i overexert myself
which is all kinds of not fun! And also goes a ways to explain why it's so damn hard for me to write at the moment! lol.
The doctors have therefore made a decision to pause my chemo for another two weeks, which is good in the sense that they are hopeful the break will halt some of the progressing nerve damage, but also lowkey infuriating because I would really like to get off this goddamn ride, you know?
Depending on how things go, my treatment plan might need to be changed again, so that I am getting less chemotherapy every week over a long period of weeks
which, like... 😑🙃🙃🙃🙃
...i just wanna be done with this, you know??
in happier news, all the other symptoms are calming down a little bit -- I haven't needed any anti-nausea meds in a few weeks, I'm not getting as many nosebleeds, the muscle pain and spasms seem to have stopped, I'm a little less fatigued -- there's still a whole host of shit going wrong, don't get me wrong, chemo still absolutely SUCKS ASS, but I'm really grateful that I've been able to get a decent nights sleep for the first time in months this past week 🥰💖
I also needed to get some urgent scans last week (I had some weird symptoms I'd never seen before and they were worried about potential fluid retention in my heart -- heart damage is the other big-concerning-possibly-permanent-damage thing chemo can bring about), but as it turns out, my body was just being a little bitch and my heart scans look good!!
i guess the tl;dr of this whole thing is just chemo blows and my hands are broken, but my heart isn't which is great, my sprit isn't, which is also great, and overall I'm feeling a hell of a lot better this week, despite being annoyed at the fact that I might have to do chemo for longer than i expected
here, have a sign I happened across on my walk to get a blood test yesterday. fitting, no?

Yes, eventually!! 😅 Sometimes I'm so overwhelmed (positively 💓) by a comment, I don't have the spoons or the braincells to give it the proper reply it deserves, so I'll leave it for another time and it slips my mind sometimes but I do eventually get to them! Why? Because it encourages me so so so so SO MUCH and I want to engage with my readers and make them feel comfortable commenting in the future!! 💖
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don't often end things 😅 it's the ADHD. But my angstiest fic chapter ending is probably the prologue of House of Memories
7. Do you write crossovers?
No, but Lydia and I have crossover universes we exchange excerpts for and develop lore together!! <3 We love it dearly, it's so much fun 🥰
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Nope, thankfully! Maybe it's because I'm in a small fic pool, people are grateful for what they can get 😂 but I'd like to think it's because there's nothing to hate about my works
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I have, on occasion, dipped my toes into those waters up until the point before the pants come off lol but I'm not comfortable writing beyond that. I don't mind reading it sometimes (really just for my ship, not others. Maybe cause I'm more comfortable with them? Idk lmao) but writing it myself? 😅 It's not in my wheelhouse.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
To my knowledge, no. But if someone wanted to, I'd be open to it! I'm all for having a wider reader base 😄

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
⬆️ They don't just live in my mind rent free, they're the landlords calling the shots on the daily.
14. What’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
*sighs longingly, defeatedly, even* Check Yes, Juliet. I want to. I really want to. But the versions of Dean and Jo in that fic don't speak to me anymore. I think because they don't align with the characterizations I've developed for them since. Well, mostly just Jo. I've thought about rewriting the whole thing for a long time and have started to with the first chapter but I'm not sure how far I'll get with it, so no promises 😅 I do love that universe for them though, and as my first chaptered fic and longest fic so far, it holds a very special place in my heart and always will ♥️
15. What are your writing strengths?
1. BANTER. Not to toot my own horn but I think of myself as the Aaron Sorkin of the (active) Chestervelle fic pool. It's my biggest strength and I think often it makes up for what I can lack in scene-setting. 2. Characterization! I've been told a lot that my characterization is dead-on, so much so that the reader can hear my dialogue in the character's voices because it fits so well. 3. I've also been told (and I'm paraphrasing here) that I describe emotions in a way that evokes a visceral response from the reader
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
1. Setting the scene, my beloathed 😑 it's probably the biggest thing that holds me back from posting fic. It's not for a lack of writing, I write often, I just struggle with scene-setting and can't post anything without it. 2. I'm grouping these all together because they're the same category: introductions, scene transitions, and conclusions. Another thing that keeps me from posting fic 😒
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
I think it's best left to the multilinguals unless you have a fluent speaker of the language to consult or collaborate with you. Don't use Google translate, I made that mistake in my early teens 🙈
18. What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Assassin's Creed. Long story short that's the one I used Google translate for 🙈 regret
19. What’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?
HOUSE OF MEMORIES MY BEST FRIEND HOUSE OF MEMORIES!!!!! It's sooo important to me I love it SO much, chapter 2 specifically. It's just so !!! It's everything I wanted from them in canon. I wanted them to have a real, long conversation where they joke and laugh and get serious and open up to each other and be comfortable in each other's company to not need words at all. They're best friends and it's EVERYTHING to me
