Omegaverse AU where the presumption is that Kylo is an alpha - the way he carries himself and how he was given co-command of an important ship, despite the First Order being very conservative in its views on gender.

Kylo whom no one has ever seen any skin of, but has a constant whiff of alpha from that scarf he wears.

Alpha Hux thinking he's just a cocky alpha who can't contend with just going by his actions, that he needs to scent mark a scarf to wear on top of his outfit to make sure that people know he's an alpha.

Kylo actually being an omega, it's not a deliberate covering up in that he doesn't want people to know his gender, but more that he doesn't like strange alphas seeing him now that he has an alpha for himself.

The scarf he's wearing belonging to Ren, his alpha who is yet to come abroad the ship he co-commands. He likes that he can always smell ren from it.

Hux going through all the stages of anger and depression when Ren eventually does visit the ship and Hux realises that Kylo is an omega and that he actually wants him for himself.

Hux particularly pissed off that he has next to no chance against this 'Ren' who, like Kylo before him, seems to just exist to make his life a misery.

But when someone gives the grumpy alpha a rut-inducing drug, Rey decides to help. She may prefer to ignore the frustrating man, but she’s not going to abandon a person in trouble—no matter how aggravating they might be.

Unfortunately, the proposed ‘neighbors with benefits’ solution is complicated. It may seem simple if she just thinks about the biological aspect, but Rey has no interest in having a mate or any long-term relationship. The alpha next door agrees to her terms, but both of them may be signing up for more than they can handle.

And neither considers the risks to their hearts.

When Omega Hux wakes after the incident at Exegol, he’s being watched over by a stranger.

His senses are alert with this new presence, fearing for his safety. He doesn’t know where he is or what’s happened; all he knows it that his alpha is dead. He felt Kylo’s passing in his soul as though a light was extinguished in his heart’s core.

So when he hears Kylo’s voice say his name, his eyes snap open.

The alpha sitting beside his bed and holding his hand is not Kylo Ren. He may have Kylo’s handsome face but his hair is shorter, he’s dressed in pale civilian clothing and his scent is repulsive. It smells like vanilla and chamomile, not like the black cherry and stargazing like Kylo’s.

“I’m here, Hux. You’re okay. I promise I won’t leave you.”

But Hux is far from okay. He doesn’t know this alpha, this ‘Ben Solo’, this alpha who won’t let go of his hand.

Ben Solo is not his mate, but Ben is under no such impression. He tells Hux that he still is Kylo, that Ben was always Kylo too.

Hux is terrified. Was everything about his mate a lie? Was Kylo really a sheep in wolf’s clothing all along?
