Bakugou hates this fucking time of year. Mainly because of the cold and dreary weather, but also because of the holidays and the upcoming expectations of and from him. He’s a damn good gift giver—when he wants to be, and only because he listens, also when he wants to—but the part he hates the most about it?
Gift wrapping. It’s a damn obligation from hell. He’d rather go out and buy all the gift boxes and bags and bows and shit before he’d ever wrap a gift. Maybe he hates it because he’s not automatically good at it, maybe he hates it because it’s just fucking stupid and useless if you’re just gonna tear through the wrapping paper anyway!
But he does it, for you and only you. Only because you came home at the beginning of the month with armfuls of wrapping paper and bows and gift tags and tissue paper and—and too much red and green and white. You’re so excited, and he can’t deny how cute you look sticking your tongue out when you cut the wrapping paper around the gift you got for Mina.
He stares at the present he brought you months in advance, wonders what’s so hard about wrapping a tiny little velvet box? And discovers his hatred all over again for wrapping paper and tape and shear scissors and dumb sticky bows. But the face you make at him? When he hands you the hand wrapped gift hidden under the tree on a horrendously cold morning?
It makes him warmer inside than he cares to admit. You don’t make fun of his wrapping skills or how there’s too much tape and that one hole he made in it when he gripped it too hard. You only grin at him, tear into the gift with haste, whisper about how nice it is to get some hand wrapped from him knowing how much he hated it. But maybe—maybe he doesn’t hate it so much now. Not if it gets this reaction out of you every time.

I'm pretty much done with TOH lol.
A braver and more energetic soul can try giving this show a constructive critique... because I will actually, wholeheartedly lose my humanity while writing out the script.
There is like... a problem this show has that permeates the whole thing: It says its going to do one thing, but then does something completely different. Like how the first two episodes of the series make you believe Luz is going to learn how her inability to separate fantasy from reality is actually inhibiting her growth as a person... only to make her a chosen one and to give her everything she ever wanted without Luz changing the way she treats people.

I really like your nejisasuneji fanart!I think the similarity between Neji and Sasuke in Naruto is worth exploring. Both of them come from the pupil aristocracy, and their strength is about the same (the early Byakugan and Sharingan are both very strong), and both of them are rebels. Regardless of whether it was fate or the system, both people failed in the end. Neji still failed to escape fate and became a scapegoat. Sasuke finally compromised to the old system and ran around in order to maintain the status quo. It is very appropriate to use one sentence to evaluate the two people: "Those who try to control their destiny end up being controlled by destiny."It will be interesting for the sasuneji two to help each other: Sasuke helps Neji reform the Hyuga clan and break the curse seal of the caged bird. At the same time, the reform of the Hyuga clan becomes the beginning of the reform of the old system of the ninja world. Neji, who is no longer controlled by the caged bird, becomes Sasuke's right-hand man.
yesssss this is what drew me to them! i find it very interesting they are both clan prodigies with Baggage and both come from prestigious clans no less. remember when the sharingan and byakugan were compared to each other and it meant anything ever that was FUN.
i particularly enjoy the idea of contrasting them because If I Wrote Naruto (said every naruto fan ever) this conflict of like. sasuke goes on to be the one who could Not bear to stay in konoha and then later turns against it, vs neji who stayed in konoha after being promised that things would change (and they didn't. funny that) would be something to be explored! especially after Both having been seen as Shitty, Angry Prodigies. but neji "calmed down" after being made promises that weren't kept and sasuke didn't let himself even consider falling for stuff like that (until the ending of naruto lmfao)
i'm a big fan of characters who contrast like that lol and i think the whole sharingan vs byakugan thing is a very fun backdrop to that. like dreams/illusions vs reality/truth? come on now.
people joke about it a lot i've seen, but literally if neji as a character were allowed to 1. exist in a meaningful way at all in shippuden lmfao 2. interact with sasuke, i do think it'd be an easy path for interesting interactions, because like. having to defend the village who's literally never helped you, against the guy who was also Never given any assistance or support growing up, AFTER the village made you countless promises that your life would get better when it literally did not? lol. lmao even
them teaming up is sincerely on the like top 5 best things that would happen If Naruto Made Any Sense to me to be honest i do think about it a lot.

Hm
Something that kinda bothers me with trimax vs tristamp is the framing of Choice
In tristamp, it's framed as this whole big thing where he has to choose between humans and plants. "Who's side are you on?" Repeated over and over again, & he continues to not give an answer because he doesn't WANT to choose. Which in and of itself, I think this is narratively interesting, but like...
Then I think about what the big Choice is in trimax, & it feels kinda cheap in comparison.
Bc see, the Choice in trimax is over whether he should ever take a life. Wolfwood says it, Legato forces it, even fucking Nebraska Dad says it. Someday, Vash is going to have to make that choice whether he wants to or not. He spends over a hundred chapters running from this, REFUSING to choose one life over another, citing that all life is sacred... he really, truly believes this, and he really, truly wants to live by this.
But sometimes in this hell of a world, you really do have to make a choice. And in the end, he's forced to make that choice. One Time, he chooses to kill in order to save someone else's life. It happens only when his hand is really truly forced, but it Happens. He kills someone, and it nearly destroys him.
And we see this during the time where the earth forces have gotten the order to bomb Gunsmoke to combat Knives, Despite people telling them that they've got plans in motion to combat him without killing a great many people. Bc the people on earth many many miles away are more concerned with risk avoidance, so they're willing to accept killing a Lot of people in order to remove the uncertainty & risk to a great many more.
Zoom back in on Vash. He literally passes out from the mental agony of it & goes into a fever dream of all the people he knows that has died. The man he killed was an awful person, caused so much harm to both Vash and many many more people. Objectively, it should not have been a hard decision.
But for Vash, it was.
And that's what really gets me about it all. Vash is a staunch pacifist. He sticks to this despite people telling him over and over again to give up, to just accept that he has to kill people sometimes... And he eventually learns that they were kinda right in the end, but Even Still, after all is said and done, he STILL refuses to give up on any life he could possibly save.
This framing of the Choice is really, truly moving to me. It's a key part of what really made trimax Hit for me.
So tying it back in with tristamp's framing of choice... idk, it just feels kinda cheap in comparison. In trimax, Vash never really has any doubts about the plant vs human thing (aside from when he was a kid, post-tesla). He knows he's a plant. He knows a lot of humans wouldn't accept him for that. He knows a lot of humans would Fear him for that. But he still loves them and never once wavers in his pursuit for love & peace.
Overall, I just really enjoy the framing of moral questions in trimax more, I guess.
