#Neelix B'Elanna and Naomi also help with the fish tank #fake voyager episodes my beloved #The fish tank ostensibly provides a method of supplying fresh fish but everyone on board becomes a bit protective of the fish v_v #Headcanon that Tuvok gave his kids fish instead of a sehlat so he knows about fish care #and Chakotay seems like the type of guy who'd just love a good little project #B'Elanna is the first to get protective over the fish....you're ju st gonna EAT them??? #also - and this is crucial...this B plot has nothing to do with the main story. It's not important and doesn't become important. #It's just the kind of thing that's happening on Voyager that week #B'Elanna is involved for her engineering skills and I imagine she designs and constructs a device for the mess hall that will keep the tank #affixed in one place so it doesn't shatter or get thrown around when the ship's hit (Tuvok then uses this to reinforce other ship systems) #Naomi helps by naming all the fish and handing people things they need and listing all the fish facts she knows #she starts off thinking fish are pretty boring as far as animals go but Tuvok and Chakotay teach her that fish are interesting and deserving #of a good life in a big well maintained tank (this also makes Naomi not want to eat them) #I think it'd be funny if at the end of the episode like Tom or Janeway was like wow! I guess fish is on the menu and everyone who worked on #the tank glared at them and they were li ke???W hat??? What did I say??

or when that show gives those two characters as much (almost more tbh) on-screen physical affection as the two main het characters, something that is extremely uncommon to see between two american males even in a platonic setting. especially a place that is supposed to be set in the south where homophobia is more rampant and even platonic affection would be discouraged in boys

or when that show has one of the two characters you’re referencing give one of the most emotional, heartfelt, loving speeches about the other character in a way that isn’t done for ANYONE else throughout the series, is almost uncharacteristically candid for him to say, and was all for the purpose of getting this girl to see him in that same way

or when that show has one of the male characters point-blank asking someone the specifics of how the other character of the same gender is in bed. not how the sex in general was. how he was

or when that show has these two characters hanging out by themselves for a rather long time at a massive group event that exists entirely to get drunk and hookup, so extremely separated from everyone else, not even LOOKING at the hundreds of hotties surrounding them because they’re too focused on each other

or when these two characters play wrestle, one of them shirtless, very giggly, with one stroking his hands down the other’s chest for a brief moment

or when these two characters just hang out by themselves despite having two other extremely close friends in the group and its rare we see these friends not all together (by choice, at least), apparently routinely enough one of the other friends knows exactly where to go to find them

or how the one character is so often blatantly looking at the other one’s lips when he talks, something he barely does with any other character

or when that show has one of the two characters in question constantly being almost overly protective of the other to the point of being willing to sacrifice his life, MULTIPLE times, more so than with other characters within the same friend group they are part of

or when, before you ever even fucking watch the show and have 0 context of who these characters are and are only seeing stills and gifs they read 100% queer by both queer and het ppl purely based on their interactions and chemistry together

or when one of them is still about as queer coded as can absolutely be even after watching the show and having context, in every single way except for him literally just outright saying he is

#listen I think I have a right to experience A Lot of annoyance over all this because I had to see ‘criticisms’ like that so often #this is a particularly hilarious one the same level as the people complaining about Daisy and Billy being the only ones on the Aurora cover #(there are changes with the shoot but them being the only two on the cover is the same as in the book lmao ya’ll can not read apparently #‘it’s an insult to the message of the book because it’s supposed to be the whole band on the cover and not just the Billy and Daisy show uw #you are talking about the scene in the book where the entire band in interview is mad/bitter about how they ended up going with only DB #on the cover even years later while Daisy and Billy in their interviews gush over how gorgeous and iconic the cover featuring just them is #like … ya’ll are conflating a general sentiment those chars were allowed to express with what the actual scene was grrr #it’s one of the best funniest parts of the book too like I love that part… #and if the complaint was ‘I’m sad the other interviews weren’t as extensive at that part in the show’ totally would be valid crit to me #I would have liked them to show everyone reacting in interviews too (they did show them esp Eddie be unhappy about it but #your right there wasn’t as much specific exploration in the show of how the side chars were effected.
