naw i gotta say something bc this specifically is dumb.
whats the plan to "get rid" of "settlers" in america? bc usually ppl mean white ppl generally and conveniently they apparently forget not all white ppl came here as settlers. are we gonna do DNA tests to see who is distantly related to whichever settler? even though yall already think DNA tests are flimsy? so then what, is the plan to "get rid" of white ppl generally, ignoring the fact theres white ppl who came just bc of immigration? ignoring the fact that white ppl have mixed with even native people so theres native ppl out there that would predominately be read as white? do they leave too? does a mixed persons white parent have to leave too? to me, "land back" has always meant putting native ppl in positions of power, not "getting rid" of whoever ppl wanna label as settlers. bc if yall really feel this way, and im talking to the white leftist americans here, you might as well kill yourself now if you think you're such a scourge by default of being white and in america, esp since you probably dont even know who your distant relatives are and whether or not they were actual settlers or immigrants, might as well do it "just in case". like be real, when tf did land back mean "get rid" of "settlers" bc i hate to tell ya but none of those original settlers are still alive today, so who are we getting rid of and how? are we gonna put all american white ppl in europe (as if they'd let us to begin with)? so we're gonna enable the whole white ethnostate shit bc you got all your opinions from a black nationalist who hates white people and wants a Very Different-From-White-Ethnostates and Very Special Non-White Ethnostate? and ig you're gonna ignore how much black nationalists buddy up with neo nazis bc its an inconvenient fact for you to swallow? personally, I believe in a world where everyone can coexist regardless of race/ethnicity/etc. personally, i choose to ignore the opinions of hateful ppl no matter where they fall politically. personally, i dont believe in any ethnostate that would by definition require a mass killing of any race/ethnicity, but in general, human beings, esp since race isnt that cut and dry anyways and ppl have been mixing together since the conception of murica' in the first place. so genuinely, whats the plan?

Another thing about this hybe drama 👀.... I was thinking how was it affecting the idols and I realised as much i o would like to say svt is not affected at all is false 😭
Like I'm 100% sure the boys are gonna get soo over worked now
Like did u see how hybe didn't promote them at all 👀 and we had to do all the work!!!
I feel like it was all to try and divert the attention from the banning hybe songs movement. Cuz when we saw that hybe was lacking, we took the matter into our own hands. Like a lot of ppl stopped the movement. Because of tht move I think svt got a bit of extra streams, can also be termed as pity streams👀 because I'm 100% sure if they hadn't got the mistreatment it wouldn't have made us mad and made us stream them more
Next the concerts and all. Its jam packed !!!
The boys have no time to breathe 😭
I think all the groups under hybe is suffering especially the pop ones😭😭
Like if we don't count enhypen cuz they are overseas for concerts and lesserafim cuz of the 'cant sing' scandal.
Everyone else is getting dragged 😭
RM had to release and album he can't even promote, bonedo are trying to divert the attention of their fandom so is txt, like everyone is in shambles
I hate this, as much as I hated pledis, it was never this bad with them 😭😭😭 I hope hybe burns down to ground and leaves the poor poor souls of its artists alone 😭
-✨
I have been waiting for someone to bring the HYBE issue up in my inbox lol.....
I have my own "theory" as to why PLEDIS was even acquired by HYBE in the first place and it's a very obvious reason - especially at a business standpoint.
PLEDIS was acquired simply to "kill" the "competition". Take that information as you will. But we all know what I mean. SVT has a demographic in a country outside of Korea that is known to be VERY hard to break through. A country which HYBE artists do not have. I can go on and on as to why svt isn't promoted in the west as well.... but that topic may be a little iffy to post about.
I do have to say though, and this is by no means defending HYBE or PLEDIS, but this is in conjunction to my theory as to why PLEDIS was acquired in the first place: Seventeen has told us over and over again that they have a lot of say in their schedule. They are working non-stop but it's also under their approval. The contract has been reworked and I have no doubt that this time it's under their own terms. That being said I also do believe that HYBE doesn't care for promoting Seventeen in the west the same way they do with their other groups because well... that wasn't the reason as to why they were acquired.
I hate HYBE very much as the rest of svt stans and I hope they burn to the ground..... I feel terrible for all the groups under HYBE .... esp the backlash LSFM and NJ are receiving. It literally all boils down to selfish money hungry execs.
(As for RM I do genuinely think he released his album for the fans in by no means for streams or money but he loves music and he loves ARMY so he did it as kind of like... hey, I'm away but here's something from me)

I'm starting to believe Derek Hook was correct when he said the only truly antiracist act is suicide. We're so immersed in whiteness, in this inherently-harmful state of being, that the only way to stop hurting poc in our environment is to stop existing in said environment. We can do all the self-reflection and unlearning and community-building we like but at the end of the day it isn't enough and it will never *be* enough. I say 'we' here because I very much include myself in this.
Ok this is a lot, babe, so let me say this to start: Derek Hook sounds like a self-important TWAT.
So no, that is fully not that answer, because killing yourself is not the answer to ANY harm you could possibly cause, especially not to systemic harm caused by a demographic you happen to be part of.
It's cowardly. Not to say you specifically are a coward, I very much understand why you might come to this conclusion given everything, but Derek Hook certainly is and I'll tell you why:
If you (general you) were to kill yourself bc of harm you've done, the only thing you've really chosen is to actively avoid doing anything to help fix it.
We don't cause active harm simply by existing. No. False. Period. But yeah we have privilege afforded to us by systemic issues rooted in choices taken over centuries by other ppl and we (broadly meaning living ppl) are the only ppl around who can try to fix it.
So we do our best to undo what we can. To give reparations where we can. To lift up voices where we can. To listen and learn and do better. To do our best to dismantle systems and to try to undermine them when we can't. That's how we fight racism, not by removing ourselves from the equation, especially since even if every white person decided they agreed with Derek Douche over there, the only white people left would be THE RACISTS WHO DON'T CARE. And that's clearly not an ideal solution.
There's a quote, the latter part from Rabbi Tarfon in the Talmud and the former part from modern commentary, about tikkun olam, the Jewish mandate to repair the world, that I really love and that I cling to when everything seems too big for me to make a difference, and I think it applies well here:
"Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly now, love mercy now, walk humbly now. 'You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it'."
We are not obligated to completely dismantle racism in our lifetime. That's insane to think about, it's so ingrained, we'd need to dismantle the systems that encourage it and then give it a generation or two, y'know? But we have to do what we can to try to make less work for the next generation that comes along. And we might not succeed because there are people actively working against that goal, but it still means something that we're trying.
Are you going to make mistakes and not be perfectly anti-racist in every way? Well... Yeah, I mean that's a given. You're human. We all are. We will all make mistakes no matter how hard we try. The important part is how you respond when you realize you made the mistake. You acknowledge it, you apologize, and you do your best to do better next time.
Any person that tells you or agrees that killing yourself is a solution to anything, especially anything systemic no matter how you benefit from it, is lying or a piece of shit. Period, full stop. You are not making the world a worse place for others to live in simply by existing. Yes, systemic racism is a huge problem, and yes we as white people are all going to have shit to unpack and grapple with about it, and yes it's hard and yes you'll have to listen and learn and grow and you won't be perfect and you will mess up.
But do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly now, love mercy now, walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.
Do your best. It won't be enough, but it is still enough that you try.

I’m going to be honest I think it’s weird you mention prison abolition like you’re so aware and above the ppl you’re arguing with, when a lot of the ppl arguing with are black and the vast majority of ppl siding with you are also white or Asian. It’s kind of awkward? And nobody is saying they want to arrest you they’re just warning to not interact bc you post loli hentai? Idk you post a lot about t girl swag like you invented it and like, you’re white? That’s actually aave. It’s a weird pattern?
I’m really curious where you get these demographics from because all of the people who have argued with me have done so through anonymous asks, where it’s impossible to know what the sender is.
I’ll admit it’s a novel way of accusing me of being racist, as is the claim that saying tgirl swag is racist (or that I claimed to have invented the word swag? lol), but it’s pretty silly upon any examination.
It also tries to racialize the sides of the ostensible argument about pedophilia here by saying “black people think pedophilia is bad, but white and Asian people think pedophilia is good” which I think should be pretty ridiculous on the face of it, but also is itself racist because the idea that Asians (and especially Japanese people) are pedophilic is wicked racist girl, and part of a long history of racism.
Like if you’re gonna come in here with flimsy accusations of racism don’t also show your ass with your own racist beliefs lmao, come on now
Also, if you’re accusing people of real crimes that people do go to jail for, like pedophilia or possession of child porn, purely on the basis of someone making a meme that has a non-explicit image taken out of context in it, I think even you are smart enough to draw conclusions from it. Do you also go on this type of crusade against people who make Riverdale or Euphoria memes/posts, which are shows about minors having sex? And if not, why?
Trying to cut off heavily marginalized people from their social and financial support networks (while also sending them suicidebait) is an attempt to get them killed, and saying “oh no we aren’t gonna call the cops on you degenerates, we’re just trying to kill you!” doesn’t make it not carceral logic lol, and that’s worse actually!

I searched normani on here to see the gossip and i saw a post by someone that was like "you guys are always attacking black women for making mistakes, leave normani alone, it's the lizzo situation all over again, let black women make mostakes, grow from them and then apologize" and i am like ummm normani is being buddy buddy with a known abuser thats not a mistake 💀 she is well aware of what he did and choose to do stuff with him 💀 stop trying to defend people who side with abuser
screammmmmmmmmmmmmmm always gotta be some dumb shit. nd what kills me is they say ‘leave normani alone’ when the reaction to this has been very mild BECAUSE she’s a black woman. like if some white girl did this the conversation would be nowhere near as civil as it is. for the most part ppl are just kinda uncomfortable nd a bit disappointed. and you’re so right like how is this a little mistake? she didn’t ACCIDENTALLY show up for a music video shooting nd she OBVIOUSLY knows what chris did 😭😭😭😭😭😭 she’s not some 12 year old girl from peru her ass saw the headlines when chris was doing his evil. but when ppl are like ‘leave her alone so what she’s hanging with abusers’ i always wonder if they have any brain cells. bc 2 me its common sense for when you try to appeal to a demographic (black women) but do things that go against the common morals of your demographic (hanging with an abuser that loves beating on black women) they’re going to........comment on that? .........like am i supposed to ignore this or.........?

10 Anti LO Asks
1. i keep trying to convince myself that this trainwreck of a court scene is going to end but every new chapter proves me wrong💀💀 there's no real suspense and the dialogue holds no weight like bro...?? it just feels dragged out
2. (TW: NSFW TEXT) i think true beauty discourse died down bc the kdrama of it was well received and fixed most of the comic's issues but lets play?? girl that whole comic is a mess and a half. just in the last few episodes it's doubled down on being racist with its black and asian characters with the creator mass banning ppl from its discord over it and even  showed an onscreen orgasm with NO content warning despite young kids being its biggest demographic. LP and LO are the real toxic OTP here.
3. Hermes says Persephone has the same thoughtful gaze as Athena. I get that it might have been a lie to appease Demeter, but like... That made me lose my shit LMAO
-----FP Spoilers/Mention-----
4. technically olympus IS heaven in greek mythology,  and its only for the gods and people they give godhood to. the concept of the afterlife in greek myth is not split into heaven, purgatory, and hell, and tbh unless you were especially awful in life you'd have a nice afterlife regardless, but idk wha to expect from a series that is hellbent (no pun intended) on being an american, christian-morality-following product over even trying to resemble actual ancient greek society and culture. :/
5. FP// the shades wouldn't need persephone to "save" them from eternal slavery if her precious uwu boss i mean future husband didnt make their afterlife and the underworld a slavery-driven capitalist hellscape. like seriously? he's the issue here in that regard, not persephone trying to relieve her own guilt. which btw her even admitting that shows her as only thinking about HERSELF, not the shades whose eternal afterlives are made to serve her future husband. this whole thing is so gross.
6. of course rachel sees the greek afterlife in christian terms. elysium is not "heaven", its the place for heroes and the deities' favored to go in death, with the asphodel fields being just as good but not as extravagant. let me put it in capitalist terms like LO would approve of: if elysium is the skyline penthouse, then asphodel is the brown brick townhouses. one is more lux, but they're both good. also according to hesiod kronos rules over elysium, so how is rachel gonna work around that, hmm?
7. No matter how dumb or whatever the Persephone-helping-the-shades thing is, how about we don't distort "white savior"? Like, leave it to the situations that involve race, don't blur the lines, words have meaning, you know. And don't go comparing white people to gods, even LO ones.
From OP: The reason the comparison was made also has to do with the classism/fantasy racism/slavery already present in LO. I wasn’t comparing white people to LO gods, I was comparing Persephone’s behavior to the trope itself but I see why it comes off that way. I’ll refer to it as her being a ‘savior’ though.
8. so .... uh ... is the implication now in 180 that even the best of the greeks are slaves to hades bc theres no "good" area for them to go to? like hades had the option to create elysium before this but never did bc he preferred to have them as eternal slaves? like this all just makes hades look even worse and doesnt help persephone look better, you know that right, rachel?? right??
9. Persephone is creating Elysium? Holy shit.... Holy. Mother. Fucking. Shit. This comic is literally insane.
10. does .. does rachel know elysium is only reversed for the greatest of mortals and heroes of greece? bc the shades she killed would likely not go there, theyd go to the asphodel fields with the majority of others. kinda weird rachel seems to be admitting she only sees the underworld as hell and a "heaven" needs to be created to counteract it when?? thats not how the afterlife worked in mythology??

do you think every disabled character in wc is handled poorly? i understand theres def some cases of ableism but at the same time when i hear ppl say that its usually bc the disabled cat wasnt able to become a warrior due to their disability. and i feel like ppl forget, that not everyone irl CAN do what they want after they become disabled. ex. someone wants to be an athlete, but their legs have to be amputated. a cat like briarlight esp i feel is p realistic and could be a source of comfort
Hello there, thank you for writing in. I’m going to reply to this question with a series of questions I think are a bit more useful, given what you’re trying to ask me. I hope that’ll clarify what is a deeply complex, multilayered issue.
Do I think Erin Hunter handles anything in the series “well”? Not really. I don’t have a high opinion of the work of the collective and, broadly speaking, I think every right note they play, metaphorically speaking, is an instance of chance rather than effort, skill, or intention. Stopped clocks are right twice a day, mediocre writers will sometimes do something cool by accident, similar principle. That’s not to say Erin Hunter hasn’t ever done anything on purpose--just that overall the underlying drive of the series isn’t so much quality as it is quantity, and speed of production, and it shows.
Do I think Erin Hunter puts any significant research into how they portray disability? No. I do not think it is a priority for this series. They’re not trying to make a meaningful work of literature, or capture a realistic experience of disability, or tell especially impactful or thoughtful stories, or even make a particularly good or coherent fantasy world. Warriors is a specifically commercial product that was commissioned by HarperCollins to appeal to a particular demographic of drama-loving, cat-loving kids. It’s not really trying to do anything but sell books, because it’s a business, so the text in many ways reflects that. They’re not going for disability representation, in my opinion. They’re including disability in many cases as a plot-point or an obstacle.
Do I think this means that people can’t connect to these characters and narratives in meaningful ways? No. Often I say that a work is completed only when it is read. Before that point, it doesn’t have a meaning: a reader finishes the work through the act of reading, and interpretation, and filling in the spaces and resonance of the story with their own values and experiences. When people talk about subjectivity, this is what they are talking about. What this means in the context of disabled characters in Warriors is that these characters and their stories can be multiple, conflicting, even mutually exclusive things at the same time, to different people, for different reasons.
Do I think characters have to be “good” to be significant to someone? No. I think genuinely “bad” (i.e., not researched or poorly researched, cliche, thoughtlessly written, problematic, etc. etc.) characters can be deeply meaningful, and often are. Ditto above: for many people, and especially marginalised or stigmatised people, reading is almost always an act of translation, wherein the person is reading against the creative work of the dominant culture in a way that the author likely didn’t intend or didn’t even imagine. There’s a long documented history of this in queer culture, but it’s true for just about everyone who is rarely (or unfairly) represented in media. Disabled people often have to read deeply imperfect works of fiction featuring disability and reinterpret them in the process--whether to relate to a kind of disability they don’t experience themselves but which is the closest they’re offered to something familiar, or to turn positive and meaningful what is intended as narrative punishment, or simply to create what’s commonly called headcanon about “non-disabled” characters who echo their personal experiences.
Do I think everyone has to agree? Extremely no. As I said before, people will actually always disagree, because all people have different needs and different experiences. What can be interpreted as empowering to one person might be very othering and painful for another. There is no “right” answer, because, again, that is how subjectivity works. This is especially true because marginalised communities are often many different kinds of people with different lives and needs brought together over a trait or traits they share due to the need for solidarity as protection and power--but only in a broad sense. It’s why there is often intracommunity fighting over representation: there isn’t enough, there’s only scraps, and so each person’s personal interpretation can feel threatening to people whose needs are different. You can see examples of this especially when it comes to arguments over character sexuality: a queer female character might be interpreted as bisexual by bisexual people who relate to her and want her to be, while being interpreted as lesbian by lesbians who also relate to her and want her to be like them. Who is correct? Often these different interpretations based on different needs are presented as if one interpretation is theft from the other, when in fact the situation is indicative of the huge dearth of options for queer people. It becomes increasingly more intense when it comes to “canon” representations, because of the long history of having to read against the grain I mentioned above: there’s novelty and, for some people, validation in “canon” certainty. And again, all of this is also true for disabled people and other stigmatised groups.
Do I think this is a problem? Not exactly. It is what it is. It is the expected effect of the circumstances. Enforced scarcity creates both the need for community organising and solidarity and the oppressive pressure to prioritise one’s self first and leave everyone else in the dust (or else it might happen to you). The system will always pit suppressed people against each other constantly, because it actively benefits from intracommunity fighting. Who needs enemies when you have friends like these, and so on. A solution is absolutely for everyone in community to hold space for these different needs and values, and to uplift and support despite these differences, but it’s not anyone’s fault for feeling threatened or upset when you don’t have much and feel like the thing that you do have is being taken away. It’s a normal, if not really helpful, human response. But until people learn and internalised that the media is multifaceted and able to be many things at once, without any of those things being untrue or impacting your truth of the text, then there will be fighting.
Do I think my opinion on disability on Warriors is all that important? No, not really. I can relate to some characters in some moment through that translation, but my opinion on, say, Jayfeather is nowhere near as worthy of consideration than that of someone who is blind. I don’t have that experience and it’s not something I can bring meaningful thinking about, really. That’s true for all these characters. If you want to learn about disability, prioritise reading work about disabled rights and activism that is done by disabled people, and literary criticism from disabled people. And as I mentioned above, remember that community isn’t a monolith: it’s a survival tactic, that brings together many different people with disparate experiences of the world. So research widely.
Finally--do I think there’s only one kind of disabled narrative worth telling? No. For some people, a disabled character achieving a specific, ability-focused dream is a good story. For other people, a story that acknowledges and deals with the realities, and limitations, of disability is a good story. The same person might want both of those stories at different times, depending on their mood. That’s okay. Sometimes there’s power and delight in a fantasy of overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles and defying all expectations. Sometimes there’s value and catharsis in a narrative that delves into the challenges and grief and oppression experienced because of disability. There’s no one truth.
To round all this off, I’m going to give my favourite example of this, which is Cinderella. I think it’s a great and useful tool, since for many it’s familiar and it’s very simple. Not much happens. In the story, she is bullied and tormented, until a fairy godmother gifts her over several nights with the opportunity to go to a royal ball, where she dances with a prince. The prince eventually is able to find Cinderella, due to a shoe left behind, and they are married. In some versions, the family that mistreated her are killed. In others, they’re forgiven.
Some people hate the story of Cinderella, because she is seen as passive. She tolerates the bullying and never fights back. She does every chore she’s told. She is given an opportunity by a fairy godmother, and she doesn’t help herself go to the ball. She runs from the prince and he does the work to find her again. Eventually, she’s married and the prince, presumably, keeps her in happiness and comfort for the rest of her life.
For some, this story is infuriating, because Cinderella doesn’t “save herself”: she is largely saved by external forces. She is seen as a quintessential damsel-in-distress, and especially for people who have been bullied, infantalised, or made to feel less capable or weak, that can be a real point of personal pain and discomfort.
However, for some others, Cinderella is a figure of strength, because she is able to endure such hostile environments and terrible people and never gives up her gentle nature or her hope. She never becomes cruel, or bitter. She is brave in daring to go outside her tiny, trapped world, and she is brave to let the prince find her. She doesn’t have to fight or struggle to earn her reward of happiness and prove her worth, because she was always deserving of love and kindness. The prince recognises at once, narratively speaking, her goodness and virtue, and stops at nothing to deliver her a better life.
Depending on the version, the wicked family disfigure themselves for their own greed--or are punished, which for some is a revenge fantasy; or Cinderella forgives them and once again shows her tenacious kindness, which for others is a different revenge fantasy.
The point? Cinderella is the same character in the same story, but these are almost unrecognisable readings when you put them side-by-side. Which one is right? Which one is better? In my opinion, those are the wrong questions. I hope this (long, sorry) reply is a set of more useful ones.

I would like some shoujo recs! I haven't read any in a longtime. I don't mind if they have love triangles or love quadrangles as long as the dynamics are good.
i’m sorry for getting to this late! and i hope it’s okay to rec some josei as well, the only difference between shoujo and josei strictly speaking is the age demographic, otherwise both traditionally cater towards women (not that other ppl can’t read these obv!)
princess tutu (anime) - this is one of the greatest pieces of shoujo i’ve ever been exposed to. it centers on a rly clever and cathartic adaptation of the swan lake mythos, and what’s most interesting about it is its focus on storytelling. the primary tag line of the show is “may those who accept their fate be granted happiness. may those who defy their fate be granted glory”. it’s all about the characters making choices and realizing their own ability to write the story that follows, rather than remaining shackled to the insidious story penned by the primary villain, drosselmeyer. the relationships are complex and dark but also rly healing in the long run, and the ballet aesthetics are exquisite!
kanata kara (manga) - this isekai manga centers on noriko, a girl suddenly dropped into an alternate world where she’s referred to as “the awakening”, fated to awaken the monstrous sky demon. everyone in this world is bent on getting “the awakening” first to use it to their own benefit, but noriko is actually found by the sky demon, a boy named izark, and they start to travel together through various countries while on the run. the rly charming point of kanata kara is that noriko doesn’t magically know the language of the world, she has to learn it entirely from scratch. she’s also someone who works rly hard to be useful and a source of solid support for izark and the friends she makes, and i think that coupled with the narrative message of each person having their part to play in the betterment of the world is rly inspiring to read about
akagami no shirayukihime (anime/manga) - shirayuki is a girl with rly vibrant red hair, and the prince of her country wants her as his concubine bc of it, so she decides to run away to the neighboring country. there she meets the country’s second prince, zen, along with his friends at the palace, and she makes a new living for herself as a palace pharmacist. it’s a rly sweet manga that i appreciate for delving into the behind the scenes part of court politics, particularly bc we tend to think that fantasies imply battles, but that’s not necessarily the end all, be all of relations between countries. there’s also a wonderful focus on shirayuki’s work as a pharmacist, and how her knowledge of plants and medicinal herbs helps her support zen as he works to become a prince more involved with his people
legend of basara (manga) - this series focuses on a post apocalyptic japan ruled by an oppressive emperor. a child of prophecy is fated to be born into a village and save the country, and when twins are born, the villagers assume the brother is the fated savior. when they grow up, however, one of the emperor’s sons, the red king, kills the brother, and so his sister, sarasa, has to pretend she’s the one who died so she can carry on the revolution as her brother, else all hope is lost. all of this is tied in with the fact that in her rare free time, sarasa happens to meet a boy named shuri, who is actually the red king! neither of them know each other’s real identities or that they’re the ones facing each other on the battlefield, so it makes for a rly angty romance, coupled in with excellent political commentary on privilege and oppression. shuri has one of the best antagonist to protagonist developments i’ve ever seen, and sarasa is a great example of a character vested with so much responsibility, who wants to bring her people to freedom but also be just a normal girl
honey and clover (anime/manga) - this is one of my all time favorites! it follows some university students attending art school and their day-to-day life as they struggle to create, maintain relationships with each other, graduate, etc. i think chica umino’s works in general can be exemplified by her portrayal of every day life, and how it’s not so mundane and actually carries a lot of emotion. there’s so much catharsis present in this work for me bc it really reaches out to people who feel lost of purposeless or alone in their lives and feel like they have no reason to continue creating or moving forward. i think it also has a rly realistic portrayal of romance in the sense that its focus is on how characters grow through romance rather than whether they end up with a certain person. esp if you’re a college student, i think it’ll rly resonate with you
kobato (manga) - this was serialized in a seinen magazine for some reason but i think most ppl agree it feels shoujo in delivery. it’s probably my personal favorite clamp work. the floral aesthetics and artwork of angels is absolutely gorgeous, and it features a rly endearing story about a girl, kobato, who must collect “healed hearts” in a bottle in order to return to a certain place. i can’t really reveal what i most enjoy about it without giving away serious spoilers, but there’s that classic clamp execution of the binding nature of contracts and weighing the things we want against the things we must do, which makes for some rly heartfelt, angsty progressions. mostly i just love seeing the narrative unfold kobato, as she starts off as is this seemingly naive girl who we come to realize is actually hurting deeply inside
lovely complex (anime) - this is a classic so if you’ve already heard of it i wouldn’t be surprised but nonetheless it’s probably my favorite in that area of early 00s shoujo romcoms. the story follows risa and otani, who are known as a comedic duo in their high school bc she’s unusually tall and he’s unusually short. there’s lots of gags and kidding around, but ultimately the story delves into how both of them subconsciously fall for each other despite treating each other like gag men at first. there’s comedic love triangles and plenty of miscommunication galore, but i think it takes these shoujo tropes and puts a rly refreshing twist on them that drives you crazy in a way that’s actually very entertaining. the infamous bear curry gag has practically been immortalized in shoujo fandom
yumeiro patissiere (manga) - this is another one most people have probably heard of BUT, that’s usually bc of the anime. the manga is actually much shorter and different in some ways, and at the end of the day i think i prefer it, esp art wise as the charm in matsumoto’s art style is just impossible to replicate anywhere else. it follows a girl named ichigo, who has a very sensitive taste palate and is spontaneously selected to attend a patissieres academy, despite the fact that she can’t cook for shit! she’s placed in the a-level class alongside the academy’s three genius students, commonly called the “sweets princes”, and they befriend and gradually help her hone her skills until she’s at a level where she can compete with them on a team. all in all it’s a rly endearing story about perseverance, hard work, and the desire to make ppl happy with the food you make for them (kitchen princess is also a predecessor to this series that i think may even have heavily inspired it and i would recommend it, too! it’s just a little on the darker side in terms of dramatics)
this is just the start of a list tbh but these are some of my all time favorites that came to mind! do let me know if you try out and enjoy any of them, i would love to hear about it ❤️

Hi! Hope u have a good day and Happy birthday! Don't worry coz as long as u haven't reach 30, u r as young as everyone else in the fandom! But nah, there's no age limit when it comes to loving what we loves afterall, so it's real fine anyway.
Um i don't recall which episode but there was a scene where a light blue haired hot lady received quite a sum of money and omg, just how rich is that guy? Gojo's hot and rich, no wonder ppl simp for him but i simp for the salaryman heh coz he's a mood and so relatable❤
Then, ppl said the money was for recommending his students and i wonder if that was necesary? On top of that, as shady gojo can be, i thought he wouldn't resort to bribery lol. Also, how regular is this recommending thing? Is it done after every goodwill event? It also seems the goodwilI event is an annual activity between schools, but for such small number of students, wouldn't it be better if they run goodwill event within min 2/3 year gap? Also, I think the max number of student they ever had for both school was 20 max or maybe less.
Hello there!
funfact: from official info released last year, the highest number in reader demographic of jujutsu kaisen is people at age 20s, followed by 30s. Not to mean offense or anything, just purely for fun really, but you can say these are the most valid age to be in this fandom lol
Okay, funfact about reader age aside, I think you mean Mei Mei in the last episode. Yes, Gojo bribes her. My assumption is that it's more than to get her to promote his students, but to overall buy her into Tokyo's side and help them with everything he deems necessary in the upcoming conflict. She was working with Kyoto school during exchange meeting, because the Kyoto was trying to kill Yuuji, Gojo probably worries that she can be used in other scheme that will hurt Tokyo school thus buy her. This also in relation that he found there are traitors in school working with their enemies. It's something like, a safety measure, since Mei Mei by herself is already a strong sorcerer. This is also why presumably she is with Tokyo school during Shibuya incident.
The recommending thing is regular thing. It's main method for sorcerer to obtain higher grade. A sorcerer gaining recommendation will later be tested by stronger sorcerer, which if they success, will be approved in promotion to higher grade. As Miwa has said, students with good performance during goodwill event can obtain promotion easier, like being scouted.
And I have no comment for how the goodwill event should be held. It's just another of their gimmick I guess lol

tumblr is obvs a wretched place to talk about deep specifics ov anti-p*lice safety measures and tactics... better to Get into that via more secure channels or with trusted folks irl away from watchful eyes n ears. these r living forms ov resistance, always shifting in response to new Tricks from the other sides and What Works will vary a ton based on location/history/demographics involved ect... theres also as many ways to engage in Transformative Street Action as there are ppl who are interested in that sort ov thing, and every-bodies unique skill sets and backgrounds are really like.. the spice that makes all ov this so exciting and one ov the few advantageous factors at hand :)  so many forms ov engagement and support that dont involve physically being on the street also, info, comms, jail support.. where would we be without them?
but yaknow i do try to put some info here that i find BROADLY USEFUL, and also point out assumptions ppl have that can get ppl hurt or killed in the street
you cant learn everything you’ll need to be ready at once, and youll find out as time goes along that some ov the stuff you thought was getting you ready was actually bogging u down. looking at our mistakes, experimenting, local wisdom and global solidarity grow our big old State-Hatin World-Lovin galaxy brain.
anyways tumblr can get u a little bit ov good info and some rough ideas about what to expect, but its all about building capacities and capabilities together to treat yrself and the ppl around u with care n compassion while u strike against that which strives to Kill and Control.

tagged by @lucypcvensie uwu thanks for putting up with my weirdo self ily <3
How tall are you? 5′2
What color and style is your hair? lots of people say my hair’s a light brown, but hair stylists say it’s a dark blonde so I’ll trust their judgement // my hair’s curly
What color are your eyes? blue (with these little flecks of gold right around the irises, you can only see them if you look real close)
Do you wear glasses? I have glasses, don’t necessarily wear them all the time
Do you wear braces? I used to, but I developed root resorption and had to get them off early (spring of 2017) so now none of my teeth toouch except for in the very back :( makes it really hard to eat samiches (yes that’s how I like to spell sandwiches fight me)
What’s your fashion sense? so I don’t count most days as my fashion sense bc I wear athleisure ish allllllll the time out of laziness, but when I do make an effort I have two ends of things bc I’m androgynous. so on a day when I’m feeling more masculine you’re gonna see me in a sporty-type-look (spandex, just barely sagging joggers, a graphic tee, my gold chain and jordans, I usually pull my hair into a ponytail and lay my edges), but on a day when I feel more feminine you’re gonna see me in some tried-and-true type of clothes (cute shirt, leggings, heels, jewelry, makeup did, hair down and [hopefully] acting right), but on a day when I’m feeling in-between I’ll try to experiment or be “edgy” (basically mixing and matching or trying something I saw a celebrity do and thought was cute). regardless of any style I’m in, though, you’re always gonna see me with my nails done, whether that means I got acrylics on or that I painted them myself... just know. that’s how we do. and by we I mean me.
Full name? I won’t share my last name, but Eden Amaris (fun fact: amaris can be pronounced two ways!) Is my first and middle
When were you born? December 18, 1999
Where are you from and where do you live now? was born in Federal Way, WA but I consider myself to be from Tacoma, WA as I’ve spent all of my most important years there (early childhood + hs + uni). I now live in Tacoma.
What school do you go to? University of Washington
What kind of student are you? a fucking mess I’m quiet at first, but once I’m comfortable I’m rly talkative and answer so many questions that my teachers will literally stop calling on me unless if there’s no one else lmaooo, I’ve also had several classmates and teachers tell me I should be a teacher and surprise, surprise, I do want to be a teacher for some time
Do you like school? f-f-f-FUCK YEA I LIKE SCHOOL how is that even a question??? to take it down a couple notches, yes, I love school, whether it’s for sports or for learning, I’m always excited to come to school everyday wow what a frickin nerd amirite, frickin loser
Favorite subject? depends on my professor. at this point, I highkey hate all of my classes rn bc I don’t feel like I’m learning anything. that miiight also have something to do with depression and anxiety though so idk what to tell ya man
Favorite tv shows? not a super TV person, but I’m a thot for Steven Universe
Favorite movie? I love tf out of movies, my all time would have to be Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (I just pretend that WftPotA didn’t happen atm bc I hate sm of what happened in it), but in the last few days I’ve watched War Horse (I cried like a bitch lemme tell ya), Secretariat (didn’t cry like a bitch but got teary-eyed) and 42 (I did cry at certain parts but it’s kinda uplifting so ya know, wasn’t super sad) and they were all lovely so if you haven’t seen them yet, go watch them! They’re all free on Netflix
Favorite book? When I was little it was this book called Junket (that thing is older than my grandparents, good lordte), I think some of my favorites rn tho are Heartless by Marissa Meyer and Tales from the Perilous Realm by J.R.R. Tolkien
Favorite past time? a couple months ago you would’ve thought it was crying from how much I did that, but tbh it’s probably drawing, writing, reading, watching movies, listening to music, sewing, spending time/going on adventures with my friends and helping my friends with their lives. I KNOW THAT’S EVERYTHING BUT I CAN’T HELP IT REEEE my most favorite past time atm is helping my friend Charlie clean and organize his room and designing things for his business, also spending time with my favorite little niecey-poo in the WHOLE WORLD OMGOODNESS HERE IS A PICTURE OF HER BEAUTIFUL SELF I LOVE HER SM SHE IS THE SWEETEST MOST CUTEST AND FUNNIEST AND SMARTEST WITTO GIRL EVER AND I LOVE HER <3
Tumblr media
Do you have regrets? boy oh boy, do I: taking so long to forgive my abuser (thx for destroying my childhood @ my biological father), procrastinating, not having enough self-love/worth/confidence, being complacent with so many of the friends I used to have, focusing so much on socializing in hs rather than my sports and my schoolwork, being so afraid to just be myself bc I knew most people don’t want to be friends with a weirdo, the list goes on, all I can do now is move past it though so... ohwell.
Dream job? oh SIS get ready for this: sooo I want to own my own business, known as LEAD Revitalization (L for Love, E for Equity, A for Advocacy, D for Diplomacy - these are the core values of my business), which aims to help revitalize underdeveloped and underserved ethnic communities in the US and around the world and fight against gentrification through implementing art of all mediums in or near historic locations in that community that is representative of the demographic living there (so if the area is a primarily black neighborhood, you’re gonna see art depicting black history and culture, and if the area is primarily Asian you’d see Asian history and culture). I won’t get too into it just bc that would make this post way too long, but if anyone’s interested or wants to hear more you can bml ;) like literally bc I’m passionate af about it so I will talk your head off for days on end if given the chance
Would you ever like to be married? yes
Would you like kids? yes
How many? two or three of my own (I’m hoping for a girl and a boy) just so I can have the experience of having kids, but once they’re grown and out of the house I would like to adopt more if I have the resources to. my cousin’s adopted, so like, idk. I think that if you can adopt a kid, you should, bc there’s so many of them just stuck in the foster system and that’s complete bs
Do you like shopping? yes but I usually don’t like getting myself things (unless if we’re talking groceries or something I actually need), I love to buy things for other ppl tho if I can
What countries have you visited? canada for like 3 days technically, I just went to Mt. Whistler for spring snowboarding (that shit hurted) with my aunt bc she paid for the whole thing and my passport
Scariest nightmare you have ever had? TRIGGER WARNING: DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE - I had a nightmare awhile ago that this guy I used to be involved with raped me, I also used to have recurring nightmares after I stopped going to my biological father’s house for visitation where he would come searching for me trying to kill me and my older brother (he’s tried to kill me 3+ times sooo... it makes sense). so like. fun.
Any enemies? S A T A N and myself, or.... my brain, I guess. idk.
Self-doubt? you betcha
Any significant other? kinda? I’m currently fwb with my ex and still have feelings for him (oopsies), we split bc he was going through shit and needed to figure himself out, I’ve been close to him for a phat minute so I’m not really trippin about it. I also have crushes on other people, but nothing’s presented itself as something worth pursuing yet so. yakno.
Do you believe in miracles? lmao I would fuckin hope so, the very fact that I’m alive rn is a gd miracle so yea
How are you? I am so-so. If we’re just talking about today, I’m prolly fine, but if we’re talking long term, I’ve been going through it. I’m just trying to figure myself out atm, and it’s rough, but I’ll probably get there. My friends think I will, at least.
i tag: @crookedly-rainy @secretpatrolpiespy hi I don’t have any other friends on Tumblr so I tagged my friends from Amino Y E E T

ppl were saying that at the grammy interview they were asked about how they feel about the kpop genre and yoongi said he was weary to answer. Could you do a mini-reading on this? like, do they embrace kpop fully or do they still resent it a bit because it makes people not look at their music seriously?
Hmm...
Well, I don’t think this fully requires a reading, but I did one anyway, lol. Prepare yourself for a long and aggressively worded response.
Tumblr media
So, basically, my thoughts on this (that are also reflected in the cards) is that yes, they resent it, but not for that reason alone. It's more about how the term "KPOP" has become a tumor on the name, BTS. Like, other companies use BTS as a marketing strategy by taking their groups to the US and being like, "they're KPOP!! You know, like BTS!!" and everyone KNOWS that they do it, but everyone wants to pretend that BTS is opening doors and they want that to happen and like... ??? NO?? Sure, they want people who are just now coming up in the industry to be successful, but they don't want people (the whole fucking industry) that took massive shits on them constantly to be using all of what they worked for to try and "level the playing field"
Like, the level of tension and aggravation that comes from them, especially Namjoon and Yoongi, like... fucking hell it's just pressure in their chest that has them wanting to fucking scream sometimes. That's why they make such a statement all the time about the term IDOL and labels in general. They're trying to get their point across without actually saying it. They want to be separate from it, they want to not have anything to do with it. They are their own genre, their own industry, their own shit altogether and people are trying to pretend like all of South Korea is entitled to the benefits of what they and BigHit built??? Do people really not get how offensive that is though.
Like, BTS is not "opening doors" or "paving the way" for other KPOP acts, they are simply succeeding and other people are trying to leech off of it.
Like, side story here, but when my mom died my uncle took all of her life insurance and I had to move out of our nice house into a fucking hut that had no running water, no gas, no heat and was infested with cockroaches and centipedes for over a year (yes, I lived like that, lol) and I had no money to eat and was obligated to eat the 80+ cans of fucking unsweetened applesauce that the previous occupants left in the kitchen while selling my book collection, my BTS merch collection, and just flat out stealing money to be able to feed myself and my dogs, and TRYING so fucking hard to contribute something to the bills (my grandparents owned the house and paid for the electric and wifi for me)... and like, he magically got a new apartment and a new car and started shopping at wholefoods - keep in mind he was 40 with a job and I was 19, just graduated high school, had severe anxiety, no friends, no job, no car, and a dead mother... like??? PARDON??? Like, I suffered through that shit and I turned shit around FOR MYSELF, BY MYSELF and I had a dream one time, JUST A DREAM, where he asked to borrow money from me and I fucking woke up ready to fucking kill someone because like???????????? To literally spit in someones face for so long and then to act like you're entitled to what they have because they've surpassed you... To think you're now entitled to their charity, I just can't fathom it.
Like it's so plain and simple. They don't fucking hide it, people just choose to not LISTEN to them.
Like, obviously, they can't say it and they won't say it, and they don't have to say it, because K-fans (and the general public) will see it as denouncing national pride as the "KPOP" label is like a "made in Korea" thing now, so it's kind of a slap in the face to tear it off, I imagine. But then you have the ~western~ fans who would also be pissed because they would see it as that dumbass ~!*Western Assimilation*!~ shit that you all like to pretend is a problem so that you can complain about something rather than just admitting that you're actually angry about the fact that they aren't small enough to want to cater to you and your demographic exclusively.
TL;DR - yeah, they resent it.
Lol, this topic though. It eats my soul.

It’s hard when fortnites main demograph is 13-22. 23 tops. Not many around ur age are going to play fortnite. I’m 25 n I play shooters but s/player or pve w/my gf and daughter. We obv play for fun. But ur right about playing smarter and better. But during those times, it’s stressful so I get it if they don’t think about their choices right then and there. It happens. I will say this tho, ur bf is def. a lot more supportive to u than I am to my gf lol but yeah.. remember the love between you two.
I mean yeah their target audience is Teen but ive definitely met a lot of older ppl on this game too, often times black men surprisingly, and especially on save the world, i think a lot more adults like the zombie fighting mode than the pvp mode surprisingly but i also don't blame them, its much more fun and relaxing to shot a horde of zombies than getting dunked on by teenagers who wanna be the next pro lmfao
I do try to play for fun, I do, and thats why I just sit there and play in silence while they talk about whatever after a while instead of raging on them lmao cuz ik its not that serious. But I gotta vent that annoyance somewhere so I do it here. And I might be venting a lot cuz he got this seasons battle pass cuz its just that cool so we're gonna be playing fortnite and apex a lot more than we were before so we can finish them.
I try to help them learn how to play better or smarter but it feels like they just don't wanna hear it, and I definitely know they don't think about their actions just by how they manage their inventory 90% of the time 😂 he left shields behind that he could have used once we got back into the circle because he wanted to carry both fish and medkits (strictly healing items) and i had told him to take the shields s couple of times but he was so concerned with running from the storm he ditched them and was left with like 150/200 health when he could have been at full if he either drank it there or took it with him. It's little things like that where I try to help with cuz even managing ur inventory well can make a world of difference with how u think about ur game/ur game sense/and which buttons you'll need to press in a fight which is gonna be easier so don't keep weird things in the buttons u spam the most in fights cuz next thing u know instead of shooting ur gun ur throwing bandaids at them u know! But they just don't realize that stuff I guess.
But they used to play pubg which has even more smaller details in it than Fortnite does so idk how they don't think of this small stuff! Also remembering his first BR was pubg made me realize why he likes to camp so much in these games, especially apex..... *sigh*. I guess u can't bring ppl from slow games like pubg and LOL and expect them to be able to keep up with fast paced games like what I play.... but when I try to suggest other things we either need more friends to play with or he doesn't care for the game, and he doesn't rly suggest games to me tbh besides games I've played before like Killing Floor 2. I end up getting him into more games than vice versa in all honesty and I tell him I'd play league or any other moba with him and it seems like he refuses almost? Idk. I try dude i do, I try to communicate and not make it that hes only getting into my interests and im not getting into his but he doesn't make it easy man it feels like choices are so limited.
