Hello! Can I request Mitsuba, Kou, Teru, and Tsukasa (hopefully that’s not too much) with a s/o who has a major sweet tooth?
(Take your time and have a good day/night ^^)
Welcome back to Madoka gets back into her TBHK phase part 99. I hope you enjoy!~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mitsuba, Kou, Teru and Tsukasa with a GN! S/O with a sweet tooth.
TWs – Nothing! (Minus a bit of bullying on Mitsuba's side.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mistuba Sousuke – " Something Important to me, maybe? "
♡ -> I headcanon that he really likes sweet things himself, so he keeps a jar of candy somewhere, you two both eat it together <3
♡ -> He tends to make fun of you for it/lh
" Aren't you going to get cavities from eating that? "
♡ -> Dw, you can retaliate by saying some of those things back, he might get all huffy and pouty though (hypocrite/aff)
♡ -> He'll sometimes feed you crepes or pudding, and will get all embarrassed if you feed him.
" I'm not a baby, you don't have to feed me. "
♡ -> He secretly loves it <3
Tumblr media
Kou Minamoto – " Just because you're dead doesn't mean we can't be friends! "
♡ -> He will rob a candy store for you./hj
♡ -> He really likes cooking sweets anyway (<- another headcanon-), so he'll make a buffet out of just sweet things for you.
♡ -> He really likes feeding you, even when you have your own food.
" I want you to try these! They taste really good, I just learned to make these yesterday with Tiara! "
♡ -> He will sometimes let you eat the batter, but not too often, he doesn't want you to get salmonella-
♡ -> Overall, 10/10 boyfriend, will make you anything you ask <3
Tumblr media
Teru Minamoto – Prince Of The School.
♡ -> Finds it cute <3
♡ -> He would buy anything you ask, he isn't as good as a cook as Kou-
♡ -> Would feed you, but you feed him more <3
" Oh? You want me to try this? Alright~ Aah~ "
♡ -> Or it can go the other way around:
" Oh S/O, would you like to try this? Open wide~ "
♡ -> He has a habit of dropping everything to have a small tea party with you (Much to Akane's annoyance)
♡ -> He's happy to indulge in your sweet craze <3
Tumblr media
Tsukasa Yugi – " I'm Tsukasa! Amane's younger twin brother! "
♡ -> Another sweet heavy maniac.
♡ -> You and him have a candy stash or raids Mitsuba's.
♡ -> He'll sometimes hide the candy stash so you can play together <3
" Come on! We have to find the stash quick before your break is over!~ "
♡ -> Would also like to be fed, but is more demanding about it-
" S/O! S/O! I wanna try! Can you feed it to me, please? "
♡ -> Would intrude on you and Sakura's tea parties for the sweets and because he wants to spend time with you <3 (also so he can be fed-)
♡ -> He really likes to eat sweets with you <3
Tumblr media
Sorry this took so long! I hope you enjoy!

Reviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
We're approaching the end of the world. ...for like the... 23rd time in a row. And it falls to us to save it! All on Kamen Rider Revice, Episode 35! ...I uh... heard through the grapevine that there was a bit of an anti-climax, but hopefully it should still be fun! Spoilers, I guess...
-Ah yes, Daiji getting sonned every episode.
-Hikaru-kun! ...you uh... aren't
-Oh, Dad's too tired, huh? Must've been out drinking again.
-"Despair into nothingness! Despair into your tomorrow! Despair into your memories!"
-"You wouldn't hurt your Uncle Hide, would you, Dai-chan~? :3"
-Man, say what you will about Akaishi, but Jun Hashimoto's really giving it his best. Easily one of the best performances in the whole show.
-Oh, I see Akaishi got glowy eyes in the intro. ...they were probably there the whole time but I missed them lmao.
-Y'know man, I'm starting to think Fenix is a lost cause.
-Man, the quietness of these shots... masterpiece, I tell you.
-I'm surprised you can breathe after all that, man.
-I love how Ikki's first bit of dialogue towards Vice makes him think he's in trouble. That's some powerful vulnerability right there.
-"Ooooooh, I wish I could kick those guys asses for you, Sakura."
-"But you know I'm unbeatable, right?"
-Weird to get quality gay stuff right after that intense chat, but...
-Guess we gotta beat them up.
-Keeling over for Gifu is hardly a better alternative to dying at Akaishi and Vail's hands, but considering the Deadmans' reach, I wouldn't be surprised if the vote was swayed in their favor.
-"Hikaru-kuuuuun :D"
-"Go away >:("
-"Oh okay, I'll sit here then, haha :)"
-Man, Tamaki's really doing his best for us all. God bless.
-That's right, Hikaru-kun! Even an ordinary joe schmoe like you can inspire change~!
-"Wow, they don't even think we're annoying, that stings :("
-If they overwhelm us by refusing to play fair, then why should we?
-"I'm worried about you, Daiji. There's"
-So, a side effect of Kagerou's disappearance seems to be that Daiji's unwilling to "cheat" his way to saving everyone. And that's clouding his judgement on what his goals even are.
-"Mmmmmmm, Akaishi juice."
-Wow, Akaishi's really got his deal on lock. He didn't even hesitate to take the stamp off.
-Fuuuuuck, that Gifu suit is scary.
-"Hey uh.... you're not gonna ditch me, right Ikki?"
-He doesn't even wanna do bad things aaaaaaaaah
-Man... taming and ditching the toxic traits you inherit from your cruel father to become a kinder person and follow your dreams... that's a powerful character arc.
-Unwavering in his principles, Daiji Igarashi chooses to fight on as he prepares one more plan.
-Uhhhhhh, Daiji, I know you've been pretty reckless these past few episodes, but this is a bit much, isn't it? I mean, Akaishi's been at this for a long time, I think attacking him on camera is a stupid idea, especially if your plan is just to expose him. This guy's literally bullet proof.
-"Ohhhhh, boy Dai-chan~! I can't wait for you to witness Uncle Hide's super epic livestream~! Eeeeeverybody's gonna tune in~!"
-Oh my god, I was just kidding, what the hell was that Apollo Geist looking-ass motherfucker's walk lol
-Man, those shots...
-oH my god, he's making Daiji protect him on air to make his point.
-Oh my god, the fake panicking.
-"IT'S HIM! IT'S HIIIIIM! HE'S HERE!"
-HE ATE THEM ALL
-INSTANTLY
-"Heeeeey, son~!"
-"FUCK YOU DAD, WE'RE GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!"
-Go for it, everyone!
-Ultimate Raid Boss Gifu-sama.
-"AHHHHHHH-"
-"OHhhhhhh nooooo, I'm dyyyyying~!"
-That was a masterful false flag op, goddamn.
-Oooooooh, they gettin' artifacted!
-Holy shit that looks painful.'
-Aaaand, down goes Skybase!
-Just like that.
-"We... lost... blegh..."
-Ohhhhh, here he comes!
-Kuwagata? Stag Beetle!
-Gattack? :o
-Over Demons.
-Huh... it's Vail's awesome Kabuto Armor put over the Demons undersuit... I saw a lot of people complaining about the design when it was first revealed, but I kinda warmed up to it, actually. I like the contrast of the colors, the way the
-Uh, yeah, Gifu's just here now. With Akemi and Vail too. Surprise~!
-Hikaru got approval from his fake dad :)
-"Fuck it, we're going public. C'mon Weekenders, let's fight for humanity without regrets!" -Masumi Karizaki
-Daiji, c'mon man.
-Aaaaand, Kuwagata. Only three new stamps left.
-Okay, I don't... hate the idea that Hikaru becomes the new Demons, the way a lot of people seem to. Sure, I would've preferred it if Hiromi finally came back, or even if George decided to grapple with his desire to wear the Driver, but Hikaru's not the worst new Rider I can think of. I understand you may be disappointed, but honestly I'm for this. Any development with Hikaru is welcome, since if he's gonna be a fixture of the cast, he at least should be more interesting than he is. The last time I checked his character entry on TV Tropes, he had one trope associated with him. Now, that is by no means an accurate or full assessment of his character, but he could stand to have some dimension beyond "Ohhhh fuuuuuuck, Sakura!"
-Next episode!
-FUCKERS TOOK TAMAKI, CAN'T HAVE SHIT IN DETROIT
-Looks like Gen-chan's back~!
-Ooooooooh, Tamaki-kun transforms! :O
-...at least, I hope this isn't a fakeout.
-Is that the... Buffalo Stamp? That's based on OOO, isn't it? Good taste, man!
-Wait, no, IS THAT A RETOOLED LIBERA DRIVER?! :OOO
-YOOOOO
-Okay, I think that our next Stamp Sheet Mark is, indeed, Buffalo. That just leaves us two left to wonder about.
-I have a few theories about what those may be.
Assuming the new Libera Driver-like belt isn't just for Tamaki, and is part of some mass production plan like the Demons Driver was said to be last episode, I'm willing to bet we get to see Hana be a Rider at some point, with her own Vistamp. Notice how the plastic flame thingy on the driver kinda looks like dripping honey, and Hana used to use the Queen Bee Vistamp... I'd be very down for that, by the way. It might be a KickHopper/PunchHopper kinda deal, or like Haruto's Mage apprentices in Wizard where they're working directly under Sakura and learning from her as they fight alongside her. My question is though... if Hana and Tamaki are indeed both becoming Riders in the coming episodes, is this Driver made specifically for former Giftexes with terminated contracts? Or are there perhaps more adorable marketable inner demons that we can take advantage of? Are we gonna see my man's true hidden buffalo calf spirit? Did he transform his fursona?
Kagerou makes a surprise return! Not in the next episode, obviously, but I do think he, and by extension Evil, will be coming back in some form. Toei has a history of letting badass mechanics go underutilized, but the way Kinoshita's writing Daiji being so singleminded on doing things as morally as possible, I do believe that a return from Evil is indeed likely.
They fill out Hikaru as Over Demons's Genomixes. This is probably the one I'd enjoy the least, considering how many are already available for Hikaru to use, but I think it is also unfortuately very likely. Like I said, I don't hate Hikaru as Demons, but I'd like him to prove himself before he gets any more fancy upgrades.
The Ultimate Revice Stamp (working title). This is pretty self-explanatory, this would be in the final twelve or so episodes, where Ikki and Vice fully affirm their partnership and go Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Ultra Instinct Ego or whatever. I think this is a certainty, but hey, maybe Toei will surprise me.
Gifu's Personal Vistamp for when he becomes the final boss Rider. I'm not trying to predict the show's endgame or anything like that, but I will say, I do think Akaishi solidifying his contract with Gifu in a way reminiscent of Ikki and Vice would make a really cool finale stretch.
Anyways, enough theories from me, SomecallmeJohnny uploaded a big video of him reviewing a bunch of crappy licensed games sent to him by fans over the years. Sorry, this is way more important to me than the world being destroyed by demons.

For the hurt/comfort prompts could you do 17/22? If it's not to much of a bother of course.
Absolutely! I was watching Sojiro’s social link again and getting emotional about it again. Apparently I’m just having a Time to Hurt Futaba Week. Sorry in advance? Under a cut cause I have no idea how long this is gonna be, and also trigger warning for references to her past neglect.
17 - “Hey, listen to me. You’re safe. Nothing is going to hurt you.” 22 - “They won’t take you away from me ever again.”
Send me a hurt/comfort prompt and I’ll (hopefully) write you a thing!
It had been three days since Youji Isshiki’s most recent unannounced visit. Three days since he’d threatened to report Akira to the police for having the gall to not let the man deck him. Three days since Isshiki swore he’d sue the clothes off of Sojiro’s back and the cafe into the ground. Three stressful days of waiting and stocking up on medicine in preparation for Joker’s first solo trip into Mementos in the many months since he’d become a Phantom Thief.
Sojiro didn’t know that last part. All he knew was he’d found himself awake in the middle of the night, probably somewhere closer to morning than midnight but not close enough to sunrise to warrant actually waking up. The house was quiet, he was perfectly comfortable, not to mention still tired enough to be sleeping, which meant why he’d even woken up was a mystery. And then something clattered loudly in the kitchen downstairs, followed by a sharp yelp. Futaba. Sojiro didn’t actually think she was hurt, not really. She was perfectly capable of fixing herself a snack and tended to be up at all hours of the night. Nothing out of the ordinary. Really, there wasn’t any reason for him to be concerned, but... it was better to go down and check just to be sure.
He’d expected to find Futaba raiding the fridge, maybe dusting off and muttering curses at an eating utensil that had jumped out of her hand while she was cooking. Instead, she was curled up on the floor, hands pressed to the headphones over her ears and holding on with a white-knuckled grip, tears streaming down her face as she watched the broth from an overturned instant yakisoba spread across the kitchen floor. His daughter shrunk further into herself when she noticed him standing nearby and her shallow, hiccuping breaths were quickly approaching out-and-out hyperventilation. It had been a long while since Futaba had had any issues with food, not like she did when she’d first arrived from her uncle’s care, if one could even call it that. With his surprise reappearance, it wasn’t much of a surprise that she’d relapsed.
In the early days when Sojiro had just taken her in, the only indication she’d eaten anything was the occasional package of instant noodles or container of leftover curry gone missing, “stolen” from their usual spots. A few weeks of reassurances and a well placed sticky note in the lid of a particularly good batch of curry finally got through to her. Sojiro had never once failed in that promise to feed her whenever she asked, no matter what or when, and frequently even made a point of pushing her to eat after she’d started locking herself in her room. Even if she’d healed considerably since then, there were still days the old fear of going hungry or being screamed at for needing to eat lingered and while those scars on her heart may have faded, they never really went away.
It was just one more thing Sojiro hated not knowing how to fix for her. At least he had plenty of practice talking her through it. He stepped over the cooling puddle of broth and settled on the floor next to her, then slowly raised a hand to put on her shoulder. Futaba flinched away at first, but then pressed into the touch. She made no effort to move from where she was hunched on the floor, though, so Sojiro settled for running his hand over her hair.
“ ‘m sorry,” she hiccuped, “I wasted--”
“Futaba.” His voice was gentle, but firm when he cut her off. “Just breathe. You could have dumped out a whole week’s worth of curry for the cafe and I wouldn’t care. Are you alright? Did you burn yourself?” She shook her head. “Can you tell me what happened?” She nodded. “Alright. Deep breaths. Take as much time as you need.” Futaba gulped down a few breaths and inched a little closer to Sojiro as he kept petting her head.
“I had a... had a nightmare. I was at U-uncle’s again because he won... he won custody. He wasn’t letting me eat,” she explained shakily. “Ak-kira was in jail because of me and-and-and you were on the street b-because he took the cafe and... and he was right, I really am cursed--” she sobbed and buried her face in her hands.
“You are not.” Sojiro pulled her into his arms and hugged her tight while she cried. “That deadbeat wouldn’t know a good thing if it punched him in the nose, and you, Futaba Sakura, are the greatest blessing in this old man’s life.” He squeezed her once for emphasis, and she hugged him right back. They sat like that for a few minutes while she got her breathing back under control.
She let out a trembling sigh that shook her whole body. “I just wanted to make myself some food, remind myself that I’m okay. That’s all. Didn’t mean to wake you up. I’m sorry.” Futaba mumbled against his undoubtedly tears-and-snot soaked nightshirt. She took another shuddering breath and tensed in his arms again. “He’s gonna try and take everything from you because of me, because we haven’t been able to--” His arms tightened protectively around her.
“Hey, listen to me. You’re safe. Nothing is going to hurt you. He won’t take you from me ever again. Nobody will.” Sojiro assured her adamantly. “I will do everything in my power to protect our family, understand?” She nodded, arms still locked tight around him.
“Way to go, super dad,” Futaba chuckled weakly, still muffled against his chest.
Sojiro patted her head again with a chuckle of his own. “Nothing super about doing what I should’ve from the beginning.” And then her panicked babbling finally registered in his head. “Wait, what did you mean ‘we haven’t been able to’? Haven’t been able to what?” He asked flatly, pulling back just far enough out of the hug to see the sheepish look on her face. Sojiro fixed her with his best Stern Dad Look in return, then shook his head. “Y’know what, forget I asked. Help your old man up, will you?”
If a bright red calling card turned up with Youji Isshiki’s name on it, Sojiro didn’t need to know anything about it. It wasn’t as though he could be mad, not when he just said he’d do anything to protect the family. Expecting anything else of the two Phantom Thieves under his roof would just make him an old hypocrite.
Futaba disentangled herself and offered him a hand. He pulled himself up to his feet with a grunt and set to cleaning up the sad, cold mess that had been his daughter’s intended comfort food.
“I’ll replace this in the morning.” He said as he dumped the soggy mess into the trash. “So, you have your heart set on instant yakisoba, or can I heat us up some curry before we go back to bed?”
The way her face lit up was answer enough.

But I Like One Piece (20)
They all turn to stare at him.
“Dear? How do you know that?” Okaa-san says.
Otou-san shakes his head and sits down heavily on the stairs. “The manufacturer for those weapons is in Yukigakure. Just like the incriminating ryo left at the scene of that theft.”
Oh.
Oh sweet Merry.
She mutters, “Shika said—when we were talking about the theft, he said it had to be an inside job, because an outsider couldn’t know anything. But if they were like me—if they’d read the comic based on Konoha in their past life, they would know. They’d know almost everything even if they never set foot here.”
She swallows, throat suddenly dry. “If it was plot-relevant, then they’d know more about what was valuable and how it was defended than people who’d lived here their whole lives. They’d even know the weaknesses of the ninja sent after them, if those ninja were major characters.”
Otou-san nods. “And if he or she needed to finance the manufacture of those weapons, what could be easier than to steal something from here and sell it to another hidden village?”
She sits down heavily on the stairs.
Her heart’s pounding too fast. The side of her head is throbbing in time with the beat.
“Well.” Okaa-san coughs. “That’s mildly terrifying.”
She lets out a humorless chuckle at the understatement.
Horror wars with elation in her brain. Elation at the knowledge that she isn’t alone here.
Horror at the idea of someone knowing everything about this place and deciding to use that knowledge for their own gain. If robbing Konoha wasn’t low for them, would they stoop to manipulating Naruto, Sakura, Uchiha? To hurting them to get their way, change a narrative they don’t like?
“But Iruka-sensei said Yukigakure gave us those guns for less money than they gave them to other villages.” Naruto says suddenly. “Maybe that’s the not-Mayu’s way of making it up to us?”
“You think villains who would commit such an unyouthful action would be capable of feeling guilt?” Lee says doubtfully. “Shouldn’t we tell Gai-sensei about this?”
“We can.” Otou-san sighs. “But I’m not sure how helpful it would be. Nara-san said Yamanaka-san knew about the Yuki connection between both the theft and these “guns”. For all we know, the price reduction could be a concession negotiated between the Hokage and the thief, and we just have a morsel of knowledge about that deal which would endanger Mayu more than it would help the village.”
She fidgets, tracing the scar on her lower lip.
Lee’s brows are furrowed, his mouth pulled down in a frown.
Okaa-san reaches out and smooths a hand over his hair. “Why don’t we get Ichiraku’s and sleep on it? I think Sanji would agree we’ll all make better decisions with some ramen in our bellies.”
Naruto springs to his feet. “Yeah! Ramen’ll fix everything, believe it! C’mon, I’m hungry, let’s go, let’s go!”
It doesn’t quite fix everything, she reflects later as she descales and fillets the pike for the offerings tomorrow. There’s still another reincarnated person who robbed the village, had her father take the fall for their crime, and is now mass-producing the very weapon that killed her past self, which they can do next to nothing about.
But ramen smoothed out the crease in Lee’s brow when they all agreed it was better to tell Gai-sensei than not. It lightened the mood and made everything this day had thrown at them seem a little less important in light of the celebrations planned for tomorrow.
Their small garden is now even smaller thanks to the a large wooden structure that sits next to the back fence.
It’s a bit like a cross between a shed and a greenhouse, if it only had three walls and no doors or windows. The roof is curved and the walls are sturdy, to protect the shrines inside from the elements.
There’s a length of thick white rope fastened with red twine inside the front gable, which is meant to ensure that the shrines are protected from malicious spirits.
Each one of the shrines has a small building that is sealed automatically once the shrine has been assembled, keeping a small object for the deity to inhabit safely locked away from prying eyes. There’s a small recess before this structure, for offerings to be placed, and a little column that puts them above the eye level of a kneeling person.
They’d debated setting aside a space for the shrines in the living room inside the house, to ensure they could be protected and cared for. But she kept getting impulses of outside, of wind and rain, freedom, that eventually they decided it was better than keeping them cooped up inside.
Plus this way, Luffy can’t raid the fridge as easily.
She’s already found certain small cuts of cooked meat have gone missing. If he’s anything like the manga, then she’s not giving him the chance to clean out the entire fridge.
They’ve been working on constructing it and the shrines on weekends and in the mornings during training. According to Gai-sensei, it’s excellent practice for C-rank missions.
Now all that’s left is to paint the structure and the ten shrines housed within.
Working out what to set out as offerings for tomorrow had been a challenge and a half.
For the most part, the Strawhats can be grouped into small sections of what they will and won’t eat.
Nami and Chopper are fruit lovers. Sanji, Zoro, Brook and Usopp are partial to seafood. Luffy, Franky, and Robin are happy with beef and other land-based meats.
However, Zoro, Sanji and Brook like varieties of seafood that are difficult to get in Konoha— octopus, lobster and prawns are expensive and hard to find, while sea king meat just doesn’t exist here. At least Zoro is happy enough with a traditional plate-2-bowls meal with rice.
Robin prefers sandwiches, and she’s not quite sure if the burgers Franky loves fit into that criteria. Chopper can’t stand spicy or bitter foods, but Zoro and Robin dislike sweets.
She’s just thankful that Luffy, Nami Usopp, and Merry are so easy to feed. Pike’s one of the few fish that Konoha doesn’t need to import, so it and tangerines relatively inexpensive.
There’s no chance of combining all their preferences into one dish. Her head hurts just imagining the clash of flavors.
So she had to somehow come up with a way of creating a meal that would (hopefully) make each of the pirates she idolizes happy.
No pressure.
Chouji ended up being her savior in this respect.
And maybe Uchiha did as well, but only a teeny tiny bit.
She’d been brainstorming different versions of meals she could try making that would satisfy everyone, but kept coming up short.
The added tension from Sakura’s friendly-again-but-still-not-quite-sitting-back-at-their-table thing at this time wasn’t exactly helping her think either.
“I’ve got cola, coffee, tea, heck even sake, but still no idea on what to pair any of them with.” She complained, tapping her pencil against the list in front of her.
Chouji had leaned over, a thoughtful look on his face. “Why not make them lunchboxes? That way you can make lots of things in smaller amounts and personalize each lunchbox for each of them.”
“Hm. That is a good idea.” She gnawed on her lower lip. “Only downside is working out when I can cook what and how much time the preparation of each portion is going so everything in the bentos is relatively fresh for when it’s offered... how much d’you think eleven more lunchboxes would cost?”
She’d just begun sketching out lines for a tentative timetable when Uchiha complained, “Why do you think you’ve gotta do everything on your own?”
She looked up, a little offended. “I’m not praying for help with this, are you mad? That’d be like asking someone to bake their own birthday cake.”
“What Sasuke means,” Chouji intervened. “Is that we could always split the work three-ways between us, and bring it to your house on the day?”
She blinked. “You...you guys would help me like that?”
Chouji smiled, then made a squeak of surprise when she lunged over the table to hug him tightly. “Thank you.”
“I have lunchboxes to spare.” Uchiha drawled. “Plus someone’s got to make sure you don’t mess up.”
She had then let Chouji go so she could boot Uchiha in the shin.
As a result of this arrangement, when she wakes up on The Day, all she has to worry about is preparing the pasta for Sanji, Nami and Usopp’s lunchboxes after training with Gai-sensei.
She’s almost worried that her timining be a little delayed because Gai-sensei grabs her in a bone-creaking hug when she arrives at training and spends about three minutes weeping over how youthful she is.
He then makes them run fifty times around the village balancing the paint pots they’ll be using later to ensure that the paint is agitated enough “so its most YOUTHFUL colors will shine through!!”
They nearly lose the purple when Naruto fumbles slightly over a root.
She bolts down her food at breakfast.
She puts on more rice again in preparation for the sesame onigiri, and pulls out a pot to fill with water that’s set to boil and a pan to gently heat some oil on the stove.
She smashes a clove of garlic and drops it in when the oil has begun to smoke gently, deseeding and dicing up some chilis and tossing them in as well for flavor.
She can’t help her grin when the heady spicy-savory scent fills the air, finely chopping capers and anchovies to toss in once she’s fished out the smashed garlic.
The scent mellows somewhat when the diced pike hits the pan as well, and she pushes it around until the fish is almost-but-not-quite cooked through.
Then in with a generous glug of wine and the heat is turned down to a gentle simmer to let the alcohol cook off.
Just in time for the rice to have cooked and cooled enough to begin mixing with yellow and black sesame seeds and begin forming into ten onigiri.
They don’t have any fillings other than the sesame, because they’re designed to take the edge off the stronger flavors of the pasta (her) and the takoyaki (Chouji), as well as serve as a substitute for a sesame topped bun accompanying the hamburger steaks (Uchiha).
The others begin to arrive at around ten.
Sakura and the Harunos arrive first alongside Ino and her dad.
She shouts a hello as Naruto and Lee lead Ino and Sakura through the kitchen to the back garden, nails orange with peeled tangerine.
Ino darts forward and steals two slices, chortling in response to her indignant “Oi!” and passing one to Sakura, who grins as she nibbles on their way out.
Yamanaka-san is totally at home chatting with Gai-sensei and Otou-san, but he snickers when Nara-san immediately gravitates towards him when he arrives. Shikamaru gives her a nod as he follows the adults outside and she puts the pasta on to boil.
She’s set aside two extra tangerines for when Shino and his father arrive. After all, she, Chouji and Uchiha are making enough to feed eleven deities and many many people, so shouldn’t their insects also be able to eat as well?
Shino’s dad stares at her inscrutably when she explains her reasoning, before accepting the fruit with a nod and a “thank you” barely audible over a loud buzzing.
Shino shifts from one foot to the other during this exchange before gently tugging his father’s sleeve. It occurs to her as she drains the pot-full pasta and adds the sauce alongside a cup of boiling water to emulsify everything that this might be the closest she’s ever seen him to being embarrassed.
Chouji and his dad arrive as she’s sprinkling in some parsley as a finishing touch.
They’re both carrying huge containers full of takoyaki and cooked spring greens, and she spares a small moment to be envious of all the amazing things Chouji’s family can afford to do.
Then she launches Chouji another hug to thank him for all his help once he’s set his cargo down.
He squeaks like he did last time and Akimichi-san laughs loudly, for some reason.
Iruka-sensei and Uchiha arrive with eleven lunchboxes, two dogs, Kiba and his mum, and Hinata in tow.
Uchiha keeps sneaking what appear to be morsels of meat to Akamaru and Kuromaru.
There’s also a pale-eyed frowning boy who Iruka-sensei introduces as Hyuuga Neji, Hinata’s cousin who’d been sent along to act as her chaperone.
The boy sniffs disdainfully when they greet him and goes to stand in a corner of the garden near Mebuki, completely ignoring Lee when he waves to him.
She doesn’t think she likes Hinata’s cousin very much.
The lunchboxes Uchiha brought are black lacquer decorated with gold and red tomoe, much fancier than anything she’d been expecting.
When questioned, he just shrugs and says, “It’s just old stuff from New Year’s. It’s just taking up space at home, so it’s better off here.”
She knows better than to say anything like “sorry”, so she just pats his shoulder and says “No, that compartment’s too small for the onigiri, put it in this one.”
“That’s way too big, it looks tiny in that one.” Uchiha snaps, but with a bit less bite than usual.
Iruka-sensei looks mildly overwhelmed by all the people in the back garden. Okaa-san comes along, hands him a drink, pats his shoulder and says “They’re in my house,” in a sympathetic tone.
Iruka-sensei gives her a pitying look and knocks the sake back in one go.
Adults here can be weird.
Finally they’ve finished serving and she calls out “Food’s up!”
The adults come in to help take the larger platters of food outside, a huge plate of pasta, several smaller hamburger steaks in the style of what they’d call “sliders” in her world, and mound upon mound of takoyaki and spring greens and tangerines.
There’s a clamor outside as people begin getting their portions.
She, Chouji and Uchiha are each balancing either three or four lunchboxes per person as they take them outside.
Sakura is helping Kiba paint a pattern of cherry blossoms across Chopper’s already vibrantly pink shrine. Evidence of her handiwork on Robin’s shrine is clear is the decoration of swirling petals and the streaks of matching purple paint all over her forehead.
Ino and Naruto obviously have had a battle over the orange judging by the splashes on their hands and clothing. On the plus side Nami and Luffy’s shrines are looking particularly colorful.
Shikamaru and Hinata are splotched with green, light blue and black-and-white. Lee is smudged with brown, cyan and white paint and beaming proudly.
Shino has yellow paint on the end of his nose and is looking at the detailed illustrations of insects on the sides with pride.
The only shrines that aren’t quite done are Sanji’s, which has a blue overcoat but no decoration, and Zoro’s which doesn’t have half its roof painted yet.
“We were waiting,” Naruto says, holding out two buckets of green paint and blue respectively, “For you guys to add your bits.”
She beams at him.
Of course, Uchiha has to ruin it by immediately grabbing the green.
“What?” He says, offloading his three lunchboxes onto Kiba. “I’ll give it back once I’m finished with it.”
Ino rolls her eyes and shoulders her paintbrush, adding another orange splotch to her outfit. “Ugh. I’ll help Mayu-chan, it’s better to get it done quickly. Let’s go before the food gets cold.”
Orange, red, and yellow fish on the blue background are much more vibrant and eye-catching than green, though Uchiha does “help” by flicking the paintbrush at her while she’s distracted.
In thanks, she smears yellow on the back of his neck.
After the extra decorations are finished, Lee, Sakura and Kiba redistribute the lunchboxes to make their offerings.
The only problem is there’s eleven of them and ten lunchboxes.
“You all go ahead.” She steps back. “I’ll do the next bit.”
Each one of them place the pirate lunchboxes down in front of the shrines and step back.
For some reason, she feels like traditional prayers and chants appropriated from the sage guy won’t really be all that welcoming to them.
But then, what? What could help them feel at home at these shrines, so far from the sea?
Her gaze falls on Brook’s shrine.
Oh.
Oh, well it’s obvious when it’s put like that, isn’t it?
She just hopes she remembers the words correctly. She doesn’t want to butcher them on accident.
“Yohohoho, yohohoho~ Yohohoho, yohohoho~”
Her voice sounds frail and quiet, and she can feel everyone’s eyes on her. Still, she stumbles through the last two refrains of yohohoho’s to the first verse.
“Binksu no sake wo, todokei ni yuku yo, umikaze, kimakase, namimakase~ Shio no mukou de, yuhi wo sawagu, sora nya, wao kaku tori no uta~”
Naruto joins in on the next verse, singing along slightly out of tune and mixing up some of the words.
His cheeks look as flushed as hers feel, and it’s hard not to giggle when they catch each other’s eyes. Somehow they both manage to keep singing.
Gai-sensei and Lee boisterously shout DON alongside them as they join as well, Gai-sensei’s voice strong and sure, while Lee’s volume makes up for any deficiencies in wording. She almost can’t hear Okaa-san’s melodious voice and Otou-san’s decidedly tone-deaf one join in on the second set of Yohohoho’s over their noise.
Sakura and Ino’s voices are both high-pitched, but they carry the tune well enough. So does Kiba, though he’s pitching up to a falsetto for some reason. Hinata’s voice is soft, but she’s genuinely singing, unlike Shikamaru and Sasuke who’re mumbling through all the bits apart from the yohohoho’s. Shino is monotone if precise and enthusiastic, while Chouji has a surprising set of pipes on him.
Akamaru is just howling to the beat. And with that accompaniment, how could anyone stop themselves from singing along?
It feels like more people than could possibly fit into their house and garden are bellowing Bink’s Sake together by the time they’ve reached the third set of Yohohoho’s.
It can’t exactly be called “harmonious”. Everyone’s a little out of tune, a little off beat.
But the mixing of all the voices of her family and friends feels so right, it makes her voice stronger, lets her sing louder.
She opens her eyes and nearly chokes on the next note.
Hovering in front of the brightly painted shrines, slightly faded but gaining color and substance with every passing moment, They stand.
Merry appears in all her glory, as if in mid- sail. Brook is playing his violin, a foot tapping to the beat. Franky is winding up for his SUPA pose, grinning broadly. Robin is resting a hand on Chopper’s hat. Chopper himself is peeking at them the wrong way round from Robin’s leg.
Sanji’s tapping out his cigarette with a grin and giving a small salute. Usopp is waving to them, like a captain would to his 8,000 followers. Nami’s blowing a kiss as if to adoring fans.
Zoro...is climbing over the garden fence and jogging to take his place in front his shrine next to the others. Nami shoots him a Look while Luffy laughs at him, sitting in mid air and clapping his feet together.
The Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates then turns to her and gives her a wide grin.
She blinks away tears as he and his crew fade away with the last notes of the song.
The food in the lunchboxes is gone.
The food on Naruto’s plate is also gone.
In fact, all the food in the immediate vicinity appears to be gone.
It’s just that Naruto looks down at his plate and yells in indignation first.
She lets out a wet laugh. “Darn it Luffy.”

Dragon Dancer III: Beginning of the End
I spent the day doing my hair into an attractive blow out and straight press. I tied it up in a ribbon.
That evening, I put on a beautiful lacy pure white dress and gloves, much like the one I had worn in France what felt like forever ago. I put on my make up, and demure nude lipstick.
The Takamagahara was in a frenzy to get ready for the arrival of the high Patriarch. They ordered the best food and wine, live music, and professional dancers. But this was not supposed to be a party for politicians. It was a family reunion.
“Hey!” The owner of the Takamagahara approached, a stern woman with long flowing blond hair. “I hope you know I wanted you guys to leave.”
“Sorry. I can’t leave. Especially not with an injured colleague and unfinished business.”
“I realize that but still.” She was short, like me. It was rare I got to look someone face to face.
“You didn’t have to pull out all the stops like this.”
“I might as well, given this might be the last day we’re in business.”
“Huh?”
She sighed. “You really are a blank slate.” She shook her head in dismay. “If this fails, they’re going to come in here and burn this place for harboring the Dragon Lord.”
“Oh...” I flinched. “Sorry.”
“It’s a little late but I’ll take it.” She turned to walk away.
“Wait!” I reached out to her and she stopped. “I should take this opportunity to thank you.”
She sneered. “Don’t thank me. This is literally my one job. Nice dress by the way.” She turned and resumed her walk away, yelling at the staff to hurry and unload the hundreds of flower arrangements she’d ordered.
I was left standing a little confused and guilty.  There were a lot of people here. I didn’t like it. I felt someone come behind me. “Human shields?”
“It’s a confusion tactic,” said Johann. I looked up. He was dressed like a bouncer and blended in easily with the crowd. “All these people are dressed as Yakuza. It will be difficult to tell who is Devil and who is with Hydra.”
My mouth formed a sudden “oh” shape. “I see! Any sign of Chisei?” I asked.
“Not yet.”
“Where’s Lu?”
“With Chime. In the dressing room.” He suddenly turned to the entrance. “Fuma’s here. And so is Sakurai.”
I had trouble seeing over the crowd but the owner was talking to someone. “I guess she’s going to handle it?”
Johann nodded. “I’ll watch over things here. Don’t worry.”
I made my way to the basement dressing room. A show in the Takamagahara was starting on Stage. Hopefully no one noticed me leaving.
I found Lu next to Chime, he turned to look at me. He was different from what I remembered him. Quiet, solemn. But he was still lonely. He’d lost a lot of his friends, most recently, Sakura. He was worried about Erii. But he refused to show any of it. So he stayed quiet most of the time.
“Are you meeting your brother? Or your bride?,” I asked Chime, watching him put on his make up.
“I’ll be going as Ruri Kazama, only Ruri can convince him.”
I sighed. “No... Chime don’t do that. He’s not here to see Ruri.”
He hung his head. “I... I’m disgusting in his eyes. Chime is useless to him. Just a useless shadow.”
I walked up to him. I put my hands on his shoulders. “Sweetheart, he still has your picture.”
Chime turned to me, looking at my hand.
“Explain to me why he would keep the picture of a useless person? Even if he tries to deny it. If he hated you as much as you think he does. He would cut you out of that picture. I’ve seen it.” My voice grew a little stronger. “When someone truly hates their family, they hate them so much that if there’s a picture of them, they will cut them out. Chisei didn’t do that.”
“But...” I leaned over to look into his eyes, “To be extra sure! I’ll talk to him first. Okay? Then, when I say it’s okay to come, you can come. You can trust me.”
He was so scared. I could feel it.
“Hey... Your brother scares me too. It’s really admirable that you’ll still do this after everything. He tried to kill me. With you, he actually went through with it. Believe me, I.... really admire your strength right now.”
“This is not strength.” He laughed but it was extremely shaky, like he would fall to pieces in a second.
“Yes it is. You’ll realize that someday.”
I straightened up. “Lu?”
He startled. “Yeah?”
“Come here.”
I took him outside the dressing room. “I’m going to try to get Chisei to let you see Erii. But first I need to understand something. Are you ... under the control of the King?”
Lu shook his head. “No. It’s just... his Aura is really powerful. When I heard the woodblock sound, I thought I was in a burning corridor, dragging Erii through it. In fact, ever since I arrived here, I’ve had nightmares about Erii... I just have a really bad feeling.”
“So that explains your mood.”
“It’s like a hurricane. The closer it gets, the more detailed the forecast.”
“Do you want me to tell him?” I asked. “I think if his sister was in danger he would want to know.”
“I just don’t know what the danger it is. Sometimes its water, now its fire.” He shrugged, then he laughed.. “So funny... you’re so calm. And I’m scared to death.” He turned away from me. “Anyway, I should go back to Chime. It’s not good for him to be alone.”
“Lu.” He turned back to look at me. “You’re my Senpai. Always will be. If you’re scared, I should be too. I had a vision too about you. You were bleeding... all over... from your eyes... everything.”
“Whatever is going to happen... it’s gonna be bad. We have to stick together. We can’t face any of this stuff alone. And... we can’t be afraid of getting hurt.”
I climbed up the stairs to the room where they would meet and sat down. There was water and wine and small refreshments, also a box of fine cigars. I didn’t practice what I wanted to say. What I said wouldn’t matter.
The door opened and Chisei walked in in plain clothes, like he was a worker. Likely, no one had noticed him come into the Takamagahara.
“Hey.” I smiled.
“I thought we agreed no outsiders.” He said coldly.
I told myself I wouldn’t speak, but it was really hard. He viewed me as an outsider? If anything, i was an insider. More than he realized.
“Is he even here?”
I nodded. I allowed myself to speak a little, in a soft quiet whisper. “Chisei please sit down.”
He hesitated. If he walked out that door, I would know that he wasn’t really here for his brother, but to kill a criminal. I waited and much to my relief, Chisei walked over and sat in the sofa chair across from me.
I chewed my tongue in my mouth willing myself to keep quiet. He stared back at me, waiting for me to speak. My heart burned in my chest.
His eyes shifted away from me. He was deep in thought and I didn’t want to interrupt. A clock in the room softly ticked away the minutes. Down below, the distant sound of shouting and clapping as the play ended. Chisei picked up one of the cigars and looked at it. “How is he?”
I suddenly let out a breath. My hand flew to my mouth and my eyes squeezed shut. Tears fell from my eyes.
When I looked at him, he had the most shocked expression. I moved my hand to cover my eyes. “Sorry.” I whispered. “I just ... was praying that would be your first question. It means you still care about him.”
I looked up. “I’m here because I wanted to make sure... like me, he’s scared of you. He thinks he’s worthless to you. That whole thing about killing the King? That was only partly because of what King had done to him. He wanted to show you he was a good person. A friend of justice. He called it.”
Chisei’s expression turned unreadable.
“He’s ... not going to come as his true self. But as his stage personality. But he told me that. So I’m relaying it to you, so that you understand why he’s behaving this way. He didn’t kill the King. So... he has nothing else to bargain with. At least, according to him.”
“I’m here because I wanted to act an intermediary between his true self and yours. When you saw him on the tower, I saw the tears in your eyes. So... I told Chime that you loved him. He cried like a baby.”
“Why do you care?” He looked up at me. “What’s in it for you? This isn’t about Cassell.”
I lowered my eyes. “I didn’t ask myself that. But since you did... I have to admit, I’ve been flying by my own radar lately. I keep thinking about Robbie. My old neighborhood.”
I looked him in the eyes again. “Ever since I joined Cassell, I found everything I knew as a child being reframed, deconstructed, twisted. I thought my mother was a beautiful woman in trouble. She was a monster. I thought what mattered most  was what was in your heart. Not your blood. So every day I feel like an alien.”
“But when I look at you guys. You remind me of the old values I used to have. What we used to sing about in church. Love and mercy and ... forgiveness. You guys... take me back.”
I folded my lips between my teeth. “So... Yeah I’m a little bit invested.”
“What do you want?” Chisei asked.
I laughed a little. “After all this? Plus everything that came before it?”
“Yeah.” He wasn’t smiling. Maybe I annoyed him. But at this point I was so tired.
I sat back in the chair and looked at him squarely. “I want my God damn happy ending.”
The sound of an air-raid siren reached my ears. I looked out the window. Chisei stood up and I followed him to look outside. Even though we were inside the message was so loud it was easily understood through the window glass.
“Citizens, please be aware that an unprecedented strong tsunami is about to enter Tokyo Bay. Citizens living in coastal areas are requested to evacuate immediately. The evacuated citizens should take shelter in the upper floors of buildings.”
A sound, like the hoofbeats of a thousand horses, came through the walls. The window began to rattle. The cheering down in the floors below turned to screaming, the music halted. The lights flickered on and off. “Oh my god. Dragon? I thought you killed it!”
The sky had been clear, but rolling clouds covered it in seconds, their movement sparking flashes of lighting and loud peals of thunder. It was like the end of the world. Armageddon.
Chisei drew his sword and kicked the door open to the private deck. The wind buffeted his trenchcoat as he stared at something in the distance. Trembling, I followed him.
A terrifying wall of water was sweeping toward us, smashing through buildings and tossing cars in the air. Where it landed bright billboards, headlights, and street lamps turned dark. It was a black wall of death. On the street, people began to run in terror, abandoning their cars in the middle of the road.
The wind pushed by the wave grew stronger bringing with it shower of rain mixed with seawater.
Then a bright flash burned my eyes. It illuminated the distant cone of Mt. Fuji.
The mountain had erupted.
“GET DOWN!” Chisei threw himself against me and knocked me back inside. He dragged me, pulling me under a large wooden dining table and covering my head.
“Chisei what-”
The bang was so loud that it took my breath away. All the windows in the building shattered.
It was only then that I began to scream.

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Two Hundred Seventeen: Ignite ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata, Uchiha Itachi, Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Inuzuka Kiba ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: Healing Waters and Scorching Flames ] [ AO3 Link ]
Just because the war is over doesn’t mean they’re safe.
After all he’s seen her do - both as her enemy, and her ally - Sasuke knows Hinata is no longer a timid little waterbender in need of defending. She’s poised, smart, and strong. If anything, at times, she’s more apt and able to defend him. Fire is a powerful element...but water is versatile. It can heal, attack, defend...all he’s ever known his power to do is destroy.
But, he still holds some kind of...instinct to help her. Sasuke isn’t sure if it’s a simple motivation of male versus female, or perhaps his element’s aggression? But any time there’s a perceived slight against her, it flares his temper, and he often acts before he thinks.
He’s...still working on that. His anger isn’t what it used to be, but it still needs a bit of cooling.
Thankfully, Hinata is patient. Typically his outbursts are met with a hand on his shoulder and a weary smile. “It’s all right. I can handle it.”
But he doesn’t want her to handle it…! She shouldn’t have to! After all, she’s got enough on her plate. With the end of the war, Hinata has taken it upon herself to begin the efforts to rebuild the Southern Water Tribe. That means constructing (or in many places, reconstructing) villagers, creating new ports...and helping the waterbenders displaced by the Fire Nation raids. She’s been putting her power and new influence to use bettering her lands.
As he has tried to do.
True, Sasuke isn’t Fire Lord. Nor does he trust himself to be. Not after the lengths he nearly went to in order to acquire the title. But he does his best to support his brother in any way possible. With Shisui working full-time with the White Lotus, Sasuke takes it upon himself to become Itachi’s closest and strongest bodyguard. After all he did...it’s only right.
On occasion, Itachi asks for his input on this matter or another. Sasuke replies cautiously. He still doesn’t trust himself to make wise decisions. True, it’s still his brother’s call in the end. But being in proximity to power still makes him...nervous.
“Why so timid, Sasuke?”
“...what?”
Itachi gestures. “You have lost your edge.”
“I’m not sure that’s a bad thing, in all honesty.”
“No...I do not refer to your temper. I mean your certainty. Your confidence. You seem to walk upon eggshells in my presence. Is something wrong…?”
“No! No, nothing is wrong. I just...don’t want to be given a chance to repeat my mistakes, brother.”
“But how are you to be my advisor if you do not speak your mind?” The elder brother gives a tired smile. “...I trust you. The changes you have made will not be so easily reverted. You have much that motivates you to remain as you are now. You fought too hard, endured too much, to think of going back.”
A long pause blooms. “...you may trust me...but I can’t yet trust myself.”
“What would it take to earn that trust?”
“...I don’t know.”
“Well...you will have time to find it. But I must warn you, Sasuke: a large diplomatic meeting is fast approaching.”
“...oh?”
“Yes. Representatives from all four nations will be present. And I want you to be there as my advisor. This means I will require your input.”
“...I see.”
Itachi studies his brother for a long moment...and then heaves a light sigh. “Your friends will be here. Naruto, Sakura, Kiba, Hinata...they too are key parts of all of the rebuilding our world is going through. Is it not fitting, then, that you join them…? You were an integral player in the end of the war.”
“I also tried to aid the Fire Nation in conquering the four nations,” is Sasuke’s bitter reply.
“As did all of our soldiers,” Itachi counters gently. “And yet...we must all move forward. Realize our mistakes, and work to correct them. Repay our debts. While we should not lose pride in ourselves, our land, our element...we must atone. And learn. And grow. As you have done, and as you will continue to do.”
Sasuke just heaves a sigh. “...I’ll attend the meeting.” Whether or not he’ll trust himself to speak much is yet to be seen. But he’ll go, if only for his brother’s sake.
“Thank you, Sasuke. I’m sure the others will be delighted to see you.”
Remembering Naruto’s incessant talking and Sakura’s short temper, he can’t help a small wilt. “...yeah, they sure will.”
Two weeks later, the representatives arrive. It’s a bit odd to see many of them done up in their nation’s traditional clothing. Naruto because, well...there simply aren’t any other air nomads left to see. Sakura because her rough-and-tumble nature means that nice clothes rarely last long.
Kiba and Hinata are the most recognizable. They’ve seen each other sparingly during the last few years after the war, and Sasuke finds himself...nervous.
...he’s not sure why.
Greetings are exchanged, everyone all smiles. As he finds himself in familiar company, no matter the time passed, even Sasuke manages to relax a bit.
“It’s so nice to see everyone again,” Hinata offers, always the polite and guiding one.
“Yeah, feels like it’s been forever since all of us were in one place!” the Avatar replies jovially. “I mean...we’ll be talking a lot of serious subjects, but we’ll have time to just spend some time together, right?”
“I believe so,” Itachi offers, hands in his sleeves as he smiles at them all. “The preliminary plans for Republic City will be held in many stages. This is only the first. The rest of your stay you can use however you wish. Please, enjoy yourselves in our fair city.”
Sasuke’s brow furrows ever so slightly He’s only heard vague snippets of this plan: some new city-state along an edge of the Earth Kingdom, a place for all nations to be able to live together. A sort of trial to see how such an arrangement would truly work.
The guests are scheduled to remain for a week, and Itachi guesses that - though they will meet daily from their arrival to their departure - evenings should be free for the non-natives to simply enjoy in the Fire Nation capital.
“I can’t wait to try more Fire Nation food!” Naruto enthuses as the group leaves for their first night off.
“Just don’t make yourself sick,” Sakura chides, arms folding. “If we have to start late because you have a bellyache, I’ll be upset.”
“R...right. I’ll be careful!”
“I’m with Naruto on this one!” Kiba howls. “I wanna try every meat dish there is!”
“Best you be mindful too, Kiba,” Hinata cautions. “You’re not used to food that spicy.”
“This stomach can handle anything!”
“They’ll be all right,” Sasuke offers, stepping up beside her. “If they do get sick, Itachi’s healer can surely handle it.”
“Well, I’d still rather spare her the trouble…”
“So, what about you? Feel like doing anything in particular?”
“Well...I’m not sure, honestly. I’m not really one for spicy food, sadly. What would you recommend us to do?”
He mulls that over. “There’s typically a lot of booths and stalls to peruse in the evenings, when it’s cool. We could go look, if you’d like.”
“I would. Maybe I can find a trinket to take home!”
They move to a more crowded street, the others all moving first to the food stalls. Hinata and Sasuke, on the other hand, visit ones selling wares. Hinata quickly gets lost ogling some jewelry made from fire opals and volcanic rock.
Sasuke, however...keeps an eye on their surroundings. Something doesn’t feel right…
“What do you think about this one?”
He spares a brief glance. “Looks nice.”
“You hardly even saw it!”
Not replying, Sasuke tenses as a spark of light catches his eye. With a jab, he blocks an incoming strike from a firebender, some of his own igniting in the dark of the evening.
Around him, people gasp, watching as the man cries, “Pride for the fire nation! Send that waterbender back where she came from!”
Along with his bending, Sasuke’s temper quickly sparks. With hardly any effort, he spars the attacker into submission, eyes flashing dangerously as he finally pins him down. “...a word of advice: don’t ever attack that woman again. Or I’ll kill you.”
Guards quickly approach, offering to take the man to the city’s prison.
“Throw him in a cell...I’ll deal with him later.”
Looking aghast, Hinata quickly asks, “Are you all right?!”
“Fine...he didn’t even touch me. All he really did was make me mad. Are you all right?”
“Yes, I’m...I’m okay. You reacted so quickly...!”
“Gut instinct.”
“Well...thank you. Normally I’d want to defend myself, but…” She flashes him a grateful smile. “You handled it splendidly.”
“...I’m sorry about what he said. I -”
She shakes her head. “No...I expected as much. There are still dissenters on all sides, believe me. And there always will be. It wasn’t your fault. If it weren’t for you, I’d likely have gotten hurt.”
He doesn’t argue, even if his distaste lingers. “...do you want to head back for the night?”
“I...think that might be wise.”
“I’ll escort you.”
The others all grumble, but agree it might be for the best to lay low for the rest of the night.
“What a jerk!” Naruto seethes. “You sure you’re okay, Hinata?”
“Yes. Sasuke kept me safe,” she assures the others.
Sasuke feels a strange warmth in his chest at her words.
Going with Hinata to her quarters, he bids her goodnight. “Hopefully tomorrow will be better.”
She nods, looking a bit weary. “Yes...I hope so, too. Goodnight, Sasuke. And...thank you again.”
“...you’re welcome.”
                                                            .oOo.
Blugh, tired...and this doesn't feel like a great piece, but...it's done?      Been feeling some burnout, I think cuz irl's been pretty busy. Hopefully that won't last and I can be a bit more timely with my prompts so I'm not writing at three am, RIP.      Anyway, just...more AtLA stuff. I love this verse, and I should do more with it. I just...don't lol      But yeah, that's all from me tonight. Thanks for reading~

hi anon, welcome!! 🥰🥰 below the cut is a short and messy guide to the main ships you’ll see around the fandom
disclaimer that idc if things are seen as friendly or romantic - i just love the members relationships with each other :’) hopefully the shipping in the fandom never gets to the point where the members get uncomfortable with it
yenyul: yena yuri // it’s yenyul not yulyen bc yena and yuri said so // mnet definitely ships them // “i’d only date her not marry her” - yena // “you two should get married” - wizones during their vlive lmao // “are you two dating?” - wonyoung // “dream of me” - yena @ yuri // other members say they’re twins bc they’re so similar it’s frightening // in a vlive they shouted the same sentence twice and it creeped out the other members // accidentally bought the same pjs and brought it to thailand when they were roommates // yena thought it was a prank and got mad lol // and the day before in the car, yena was singing a song she was listening to // and then yuri grabbed her hand like “UNNIE” and showed her that she was listening to the same song at the exact same timestamp lol like how // anyway they’re my fav :’) // never sinks // yuri has a type of laugh that only yena can bring out and it’s hella cute
2kim: chaewon minju // im actually not sure why this is so popular or where this started so if anyone knows why lmk pls lol // their interactions are always cute though // chaewon teases minju in front of camera, minju teases chaewon behind camera // minju always says chaewon is pretty but she does that to every other existing person so idk // that one time in izone chu 2 when minju got jealous when chaewon called yujin pretty lol // and then chaewon had to call minju pretty too lol
chaekkura/hotaru: chaeyeon sakura // called hotaru bc of pd48 headphone game/challenge thing // mnet also ships them // was the pd48 flagship // “just date already” - chaewon // but is now kind of a sinking ship i think // losing popularity and i havent seen many moments floating around besides the recent pdx101 one // their duo dance stage at mama lol // hyekura is also a thing bc hyewon is super touchy with sakura but beyond that idk abt them

ALAS: How it Works
[ So I know this doesn’t concern too many of you, as not many people write in the ALAS verse on this blog, or with any of my sideblogs, so if you have no idea what this is...that’s okay! BUT, for posterity’s sake, I thought I’d do a quick (ha) rundown of the verse, and how it all ties in to all my silly blogs.
First of all...the blogs! There’s this one, @whitefangwanderer, @thefriendlyflicker, @hyuuchiha, @foxesnflowers, and technically @sylviesmuses (which is more just an info blog on muses I no longer write in RP, but are part of the fic). These blogs are all, by default, written in ONE canon verse known as A Light Amongst Shadows. It’s (loosely) based on OLD RP back before I joined Tumblr with two friends. It was originally made so we could blend in ships and OCs that we enjoyed, while following as much of canon as we could, sans those ships and OCs.
So! For a bit more of a visual, you can see the “full” (aka the best I could do) genealogy map for the verse and most relevant characters [ here ]. First thing you’ll probably notice are the two main ‘crackships’. ALAS follows canon pretty darn close up until we pass chapter 699.  From there, it takes its own epilogue course. Children and ships all pretty much stay the same, however, EXCEPT that we switch out N.aruHina and S.asuSaku for N.aruSaku and S.asuHina. Which results in four NEW ship kids! Uzumaki Akane, Uzumaki Kei, Uchiha Tenkai, and Uchiha Chikyū. The NS kids are the muses of @foxesnflowers and the SH kiddos are on @hyuuchiha.
ALAS also fills in a some missing faces, such as Shisui’s parents, Neji and Hinata’s mothers, etc. etc. Otherwise, most of the OCs are those of the next gen from the above-mentions ships, as well as N.ejiTen and Ryū’s ship in that verse with Shisui. As mentioned in a previous post, this is a swapped ship due to revamping the plot. In short, this makes things more canon compliant, and requires less plot intervention / “OP” OC actions to make it work. So! While the plot prior had ItaRyū, the new ship for the fic is ShiRyū. That’s not to say other ships can’t work for either Ryū OR Shisui (as he’s the muse of @thefriendlyflicker), but that’s what’s written by default, and they are the parents of the three ship kids for ALAS on this blog.
SO, now: how it all ties together. This is going to be a little long and I guess a little spoilery, BUT: for the sake of explanation of how things all fit, I’ll go over a (VERY) barebones summary of main aspects of the fic. We’ll go under a cut for length cuz...this post is long enough, lmao
So, as said, the purpose of ALAS is to blend in OCs. And given that neither of my previous partners RP anymore, it focuses solely on Ryū. It starts much the same as her default verse: Iwa, during attempts to cut through to Hi no Kuni, use doton to scale the mountains along the north side of the country. Given they were also battling with Kumo...this still makes sense. Ryū’s village, Kusunokizan, is all civilian save for her clan...which are healers. Sages, yes, but healers. So, the village is destroyed, with Ryū being the sole survivor after her mother uses the last of her chakra to hide her behind a barrier that bends light, and makes things under it invisible. Ryū’s mother, Reika, is killed in an attempt to defend her daughter.
On the floor of Hi no Kuni, a patrol spots the smoke rising from the mountains, and meets the Iwa squad on their way to investigate. They kill or capture them all, with some losses. Most head back to take the prisoners to Konoha, while some - including Uchiha Manami, Shisui’s mother - head on to check out the smoke. They, of course, find the ruins of the village...and Manami finds Ryū. Knowing she’s now alone, Manami tries to adopt her, but is denied due to village sanctions about rare bloodlines...and also bias against the Uchiha. Instead, she is made a ward to be raised as a village asset.
In a different attempt to help, Manami introduces the girl to her son, Shisui...and the pair hit it off right away. Shisui’s boisterous nature helps bring Ryū out of her shell. Through him, she meets others like Itachi and later Sasuke. And while she is trained in the hospital to utilize her bloodline, the boys all head into the Academy. Itachi is rather standoffish around her, but Sasuke - always dealing with boys (and a bit jealous of the attention his brother gives Shisui) enjoys her company.
...then Shisui apparently commits suicide. Ryū is, of course, devastated. Her first friend is gone. Not long after, the Uchiha clan is massacred save for Sasuke. Now Manami is gone, the clan...and Itachi is a murderer, Sasuke left all alone as a ward, like her. Though unable to be an official guardian due to village restrictions, Ryū nonetheless acts as Sasuke’s as he grows up.
After the Nami mission, Ryū - working at the hospital - becomes acquainted with his team, including Kakashi. Admitting to her worry over Sasuke, she asks the sensei to keep an eye on him for her, as she’s unable to fight. She aids with the chūnin exams, and is the medic who works primarily to save Hinata’s life, which begins a friendship between them. She also assists with Lee’s recovery, but is unable to cure him completely.
Otherwise, things progress as canon as normal. Sasuke is infected by Orochimaru’s curse mark, and leaves to join them for training. Ryū, in the interim - having lost nearly all of the people in Konoha she’s come to care about - asks to take a trip back to her village for some kind of emotional closure and respite. While there, she discovers the sage that trained her line, and rather than return to Konoha, stays in the ruins of Kusunokizan to train to become a healing / protective sage.
Shippuden passes much the same as canon, with mild participation by Ryū. No events change, and she is part of the war effort with the other medics, and is caught in Mugen Tsukuyomi. After the war, she encourages Sasuke to stay after her confides the truth of the massacre with her: to both let her repair his arm, and to help the betterment of the village and shinobi system by bringing it all to light. She also revives Neji as a token for Hinata and her friendship. The council is confronted by the clans’ heirs, and are removed from power. Kakashi, upon taking his seat as Rokudaime, reveals the truth and pardons Itachi to have him removed from the Bingo book and remove his criminal record.
Once that’s all over, Shisui returns, revealing his faked suicide: to give Itachi the Mangekyō, keep his body from Danzō (and those like Obito or Orochimaru), and keep the councilman’s betrayal from the clan, lest it start up a civil war. But with Danzō dead, the council ousted, and the truth revealed, he can now return. At first, Sasuke is angry with him for abandoning Itachi, and Ryū is hurt he didn’t come to her to be healed.
But the past is the past, and they move on. Ryū makes Shisui new eyes from his DNA, and the pair reconnect and grow closer, eventually becoming a pair. They marry and have their three children. Sasuke, after a slowburn, ends up with Hinata, and they have two children. Naruto and Sakura end up together with two children. Neji and Tenten get married and have a son, Hinode. A raid of one of Orochimaru’s old bases reveals an in-stasis ‘clone’ of Neji he also adopts as his own and names Higure.
The plot then focuses mostly on their kids, and the rising threat of the remnants of Root, led by Ayame, who want revenge for Danzō’s death and defamation by eradicating the Uchiha completely.
And that’s the gist of it, really! Obviously there’s a lot more guts, but this covers most of the OCs and their bonds with canon characters! And again, you can find most of the OCs and canons on the various blogs. Any that are missing you can always ask about! But uh...yeah. This is stupidly long, but...given that this story is going on seven years old, there’s a lot to it! Hopefully this provides a little insight into how this verse, and these blogs, work! ]

14. Do they live alone or with family? How do they feel about their family/roommates?
Eiri
He lives with his two fiances, Sakura and Raulin in their home in Shirogane. And I mean...how is one supposed to feel about the people they live with? Hopefully good? But nah, he loves both of them, and they take care of the housework! So it’s a...win....all around? At least a win for him...? He is very happy with his living situation.
Tira
She lives alone. Unless you count the pugnax. Too many people coming and going from her apartment to bother with a roommate. Family is back home in Garlemald, so she’s certainly not living with them! Tira enjoys this life, she can come and go, bring people in and make them leave at her whim. And she can also go and leech off her friends whenever she wants. Plus...she gets people to come clean up her apartment for her, and walk the dog.
Cyrus
Typically he knocks around in the Castrums, so he’s used to barracks living. So...roommates! Cyrus is used to living like this, he doesn’t mind it, it’s easier for him. People tend not to bother him, so it’s a peaceful living...more or less... if you don’t include the random raids by the Eorzeans.
Arialys
She lives with her carbuncle, and has no family to speak of that could live with. The blind catte gets along just fine with her carbuncle, visits friends. Aria is getting used to living alone, and while overcoming the blindness, she’s becoming more and more independent. ...Gru and Sierce (both carbuncle) are terrible roommates, they eat all the food and make messes.

OKAY rant part two time for @littlelilypetal – this time about the more general plot of Arc Three because...reasons.
Also small disclaimer AGAIN for anyone else who pops in here, curious: this is from a fic written from a verse I wrote with two friends LONG before I joined Tumblr. It was written over literally hundreds of pages (I have the threads saved don’t try me boi, and the fic itself is 300,000 words and counting), and it’s very dear to me. It’s nothing that has to happen here, but it’s still a thing, and any whining about OC x Canon pairings will be met with fingers in my ears going lalala can’t hear you.
SO. Small disclaimer: this first part here is still a bit of a WIP, as my original draft had a plot hole in it. This is my attempt at fixing it xD
Arc three starts technically before the end of Shippuden, aka before Sasuke leaves. Ryū ends up going with him to raid Obito's old lab to make sure all the Uchiha bodies and parts are properly disposed of or buried. Among them is Itachi's body.
Now, Ryū at this point already has Itachi's permission to resurrect him (as noted in the other rant lol - he’s gotta come back and clean up his mess, and take care of his kids), she just doesn't have the means how, as she's lacking his body. And, of course, the body he had was ravaged by illness and worn out, let alone missing its eyes. So, while clearing the lab, she takes a DNA sample without Sasuke's knowledge, and then proceeds to help him clean up. She hasn't told Sasuke her plans yet, as she's still not 100% sure it will work.
As a test, she uses her soul retrieval technique on Neji, managing to retrieve his soul and replace it into his healed corpse. Knowing she can get it to work, she moves forward.
(Quick note about that technique: it's HELLA dangerous. Basically, a person uses a very thin connection to their body, and goes into the void to take ONE soul at a time. BUT, the longer a soul has been departed from the mortal plane, the further away it is – so she can't just take anyone who's died like a hundred years ago. Her limit is like...a few months, at best. But the void constantly eats at her chakra, and if she stays too long, she'll just...die. So it's a powerful technique, but EXTREMELY risky and limited. Hopefully it seems balanced that way ='D)
So, Sasuke then leaves a few months later, and she begins her work. At this point she’s still working in the hospital, focusing on surgeries to give her more time at home with the twins, who are about 8 months at this point. But, after her shifts, she sneaks to the basement of the hospital (aka the morgue), where there are cryogenic pods for storing bodies. They're almost always unused, and it's there she pours every spare ounce of chakra she has into regrowing an entirely new body for Itachi. It takes her months, and she nearly kills herself doing it, using up too much energy, but eventually she finishes it.
After her collapse, Tsunade confronts her, and she has no choice but to reveal her plans. Of course, Tsunade FLIPS her table, because one: that's hella dangerous, and two: how is this going to work? A few select people know the truth behind Itachi, but there's a few issues with him being revived. One is that he's still guilty in most eyes. And even if they break the truth behind the massacre, that's highly dangerous. The administration of Konoha – the Hokage and the elders – WIPED OUT an entire clan due to dissent. If the other clans learned of this, it would surely break the village apart.
Ryū announces she has a plan. Due to her connections with Sasuke as his guardian/sibling figure, she's also bumped into most of the Konoha Twelve during her years in Konoha. Most of which are heirs or at least high-ranking members of large clans. She plans to speak to them first, as they're likely the most receptive after everything they faced in the war, and knowing Sasuke's loss as his friends and comrades. By securing their agreement to help with the issue, she hopes to avoid a total meltdown.
She also has a few favors owed to her by the Hyūga, who are arguably the most powerful clan now that the Uchiha are “gone”. One for attempting to protect Hinata during Pain's invasion (I didn't elaborate on that in the other rant, but if I wrote the whole thing out we'd be here for DAYS lol), and then of course reviving Neji. She plans to rely heavily on them and her friendship with Hinata to help keep the other clans in line, by talking to her and Neji first. Hopefully, that way, the Hyūga - already knowing the plan - can lead by example by being calm, and hopefully help the other clans keep from flipping tables.
Unfortunately, Tsunade lets the plan slip to Sakura...who then tattles to Sasuke. She confronts Ryū about it, asking why she wouldn't tell him, and Ryū argues that she didn't want to get his hopes up if it failed. But, Sasuke shows up anyway, and agrees to stay and help with the plan to break the news about the coup and the massacre.
With Tsunade and Sakura's help, Ryū performs her technique, their Byakugō helping bolster her chakra alongside her sage state. Normally, Itachi would have been dead far too long. But thanks to Edo Tensei, the “distance” has sort have been...reset. It wipes her out, but she manages it, and returns the soul to his rebuilt body!
Of course, one thing they have to deal with is getting Itachi mobile. The body is basically the same as a newborn's – it has NO muscle strength, so he ends up needing months of physical therapy to get up and moving. And until he's fit (and able to defend himself, as there's fears he'll be attacked), they work with the young heirs of Sasuke's generation to move their plans forward. Ryū has a meeting with the Konoha Twelve and explains everything, and of course they all agree to help.
Once Itachi is ready, the elders are called into a meeting with Tsunade...only to find themselves surrounded by the leaders and heirs of all the major clans. They reveal that they know the truth, that Itachi has returned, and if they refuse to admit to it, they can Edo Tensei summon Hiruzen to confirm their story. Basically backed into a corner, the elders are forced to step down, where they can't bring about anything else like the massacre.
The last thing that remains is Itachi's official pardon. Tsunade decides to use Kakashi's coronation as a platform, as everyone will be gathered anyway. He explains the truth behind the massacre, and official pardons Itachi. But there are some in the crowds that look...less than happy about it.
So, from there, the general premise is how the Uchiha have to get back on their feet – forming an alliance with the Hyūga, and doing their best to settle into Konoha again.
But it doesn't end there :3c
One day, while Itachi is speaking to Kakashi about rejoining the shinobi force, Ryū senses an intruder in the compound, walking up the Naka river. She runs out to confront them...only to realize that it's SHISUI.
(which is actually the Shisui from my sideblog lolol)
BASICALLY...I think it's bull that Shisui leapt into a RIVER to dispose of his body...like...really? There's a HUGE chance it would have washed up on shore and been found by gods know who. SO, MY Shisui instead went into hiding – the only way he could know his body was safe was to keep it alive, but have everyone THINK it was dead. Even Itachi. Of course, he PLANNED to die later, but couldn't be 100% sure it would be safe. So instead (super short summary), he lived in a cave along the Naka for about ten years and learned echolocation via chakra from bats (think Toph from ATLA, only with chakra lol)
So...suddenly, Shisui is alive. Ryū is ecstatic, of course...but Itachi is PISSED. Because...had he known Shisui was still alive, he might have kept trying. He might not have had to kill the clan. A LOT could have been different. So...it takes time for him to come around, due to the guilt he feels about the massacre, and now knowing there was a chance it could have been avoided. But in reality...not really.
So now we suddenly have five blood Uchiha rather than three: Itachi, Shisui, Sasuke, and the twins. It's obviously nowhere near the clan it was before, but it's more than it was!
And this is where things start to go to shit, lol
So, remember those people, unhappy about Itachi's return? Well...there's a rather volatile group who feel the same way. See, some of the old Root members, led by Danzō, still harbor a LOT of resentment, and are still loyal to his memory. Among them is Okano Sumire, a woman obsessed with Danzō, who was a high ranking officer under his regime. She's been plotting revenge against Sasuke already for “killing” Danzō (though he technically committed suicide), and now she's got a whole lot more to be pissed about. With the massacre's truth revealed, Danzō's name is now just...dragged through the mud. And with the revelation of Itachi, she now also knows that the twins are blood Uchiha.
So, she regathers the scattered remnants of Root who are still loyal to Danzō, becomes their new leader, and basically begins plotting to wipe out the Uchiha for GOOD, as she feels they are all guilty for Danzō’s death and subsequent dishonor.
This causes the family problems all throughout Arc Three. It starts small – threats left on their doorstep, people jeering at them in public, etc. Though it's partially helped by the Hyūga, who – as the Uchiha's allies thanks to Ryū's work with them – do all they can to help bolster the tiny clan's reputation. But Sumire begins spreading dissent into the village with rumors and lies, and eventually things starting getting dangerous, including Ryū and the twins being attacked in broad daylight. She manages to hold them off with barriers, but she's obviously pretty freaked out after being attacked in the middle of the street with her KIDS with her.
So that's like...the main conflict, alongside the twins' conflict with each other. They end up on a team with Mirai, as I mentioned, with Shisui as their team leader. They later enter ANBU when able, and do their best to counteract Root. The rest of the story is basically them trying to wipe out Root before Root wipes THEM out. Of course they don’t face it alone, but it’s also pretty much THEIR problem.
And, uh...there's a rather volatile event just before the actual epilogue where it's Ryū who confronts Sumire...and someone gets killed.
But I won't spoil that :3c
ANYWAY. So yeah. That's the basic conflict (well, conflictS) of Arc Three. I had to kinda change things a wee bit after chapter 700 and Boruto became a thing, but...it's mostly unchanged. Just gotta account for other kiddos, like Sarada. Otherwise, I’m completely ignoring the PLOT of Boruto, and just sticking the pairings/kids in it to keep close-ish to canon.
But uh..yeah! Second rant, finished xD

Jakob fainted from happiness at being compared to Kamui I’m dying
Oh shit village raid Mozu! Oh damn this song is my jam and the roar version is in Heroes it makes me happy Poor little Mozu… At the least they aren’t targeting her
Hmm I wonder what Elise could change into once she’s high enough
Whoop whoop we got Mozu! And she’s got a Naginata which is a little weird since I thought we were in Nohr??
If these faceless are missing Effie then they’re as blind as Corrin what
Aww Mozu you just lost everything and you’re trying your hardest to be brave
Now we’re onto the Ice Tribe Village Um Silas where the fuck is your horse why are you walking Why is Kamui even walking barefooted
Oh my Kilma is rather handsome and the recording is skipping all over the place so I can’t even read what’s going on ffs Gotta find an entirely new playthrough and hopefully they have a bottom screen I can look at…
[Hmm this person has a guy instead of a lady but I’ll still be referring to them as Kamui and now we don’t have Jakob but at least they have a bottom screen so I’m not lost af]
Thank you for that save Silas Kamui ain’t thinking right Save the world eh? That’s interesting Oh snap Flora is here too… And now Felicia is here as well Oh got damnit to hell Elise why would blurt that out child

this dream is a bit of a mess because unlike the others which were clear this jumps around a lot and lots of unrelated details form like 3 other dreams It took me all day to sort it out. Okay to start were going back to Konoha right when Sasuke brought the Will of Fire to East Blue, apparently the dimensional jump was... unstable is the closest word to use, It looked like their was a hole it the world, the Kami-Strawhats given they were watching them for The Will to set sail heal the hole. Part1
But I get the feeling that that hole is why and how the One Piece World and the Naruto was able to develop that portal between them, given that you could see ocean though the hole, fast forward a bit as the Kami-Strawhats celebrating Mayu and friends setting sail(loudly Kakashi got noise complants from upity nobles from the capital why they were their no idea) the permanent portal opens up causing all the Strawhats to literally stop their partying and SHUDDER as they become even more defined (2)
The dream quickly jumps to the OP strawhat recovering from Thriller Bark, and celebrating Brook joining the crew and they shudder as well and glow a bit but that dies down. I think that was implying a connection was made the OP Strawhat's and the the Kami versions just what that connection is? I have no idea. Anyway Luffy calls it a Mystery feeling and goes right back to partying with the rest of the crew quickly following suit. (3)
the dream then jumps back to the Whirlpool Group different time though as their heading to Reverse Mountain at the time. Naruto is grinning like a loon slightly ruffled looking with a smug Sasuke. Mayu is enjoying the Will's kitchen making dinner with Chouji, Ino is busy Navigating so they don't crash Will into the side of Reverse Mountain, Apparently the Whirlpool group decide to raid Louge town's Marine base because Shino and Sakura were taking out loot from storage scrolls and sorting it. (4)
which neatly explained why Naruto was grinning like that and Sasuke was so Smug, Shikamaru was napping on deck, Kiba was running around Will's deck and Poor Hinata has motion sickness and was reliving the contents of her stomach into the East Blue, while Lee trys to comfort her by patting her back( I blame her Bloodline for that 360 degree vision on a fricken ship hopefully it will pass when she gains her sea legs) (4)
anyway Mayu brings out the meal with Chouji's help which gets everyone to drop everything to eat well expect Ino who has to mind the Current and weather and you know make sure they don't slam Will into the Red Line or into the calm belt both of those would be bad but she still eats, they all talk about the raid on the Marine Base which was mainly for info, any seastone they can get their hands on, and Enteral log poses if possible, they could get, and well to anoce their existence. (5)
because right now in their mind they have only 3 months to make their mark here (not to sure if this is going to last because well Portal) and well Naruto is not one for obscurity, he is called Konoha's number one unpredictable knuckleheaded ninja for a reason afterall, and well Mayu stories always pointed out that the Marines were Hippocratic idiots that were the leashed dogs of very evil people, also they made Mayu cry with what they were going to someone named Ace, which is just not done (6)
(Btw when Naruto was thinking about Mayu crying he made a face that scared me Naruto should not have a face that looks like he's contemplating murder) they eat the food and Mayu take some of the group(basicly anyone that isn't doing encential stuff like Navigating and loot sorting) and a butch of Naruto's clones for English lessons. they did get lucky and got a bit of seastone not much though which turn out is an amazing charka channeler for Water, Wind, and Neutral charka. (7)
not so good with the other elements though with Fire being the worst, shika is already planning tests for the single pair of seastone cuffs they found, then it jump to sleeping Teach and I woke up because I just wanted to punch him that I manage to sleep punch myself not fun. this was all I can remember and make since of so sorry it was shorter then normal
I honor and thank you for your injury in the line of duty. May Teach receive a thousand punches for the one you suffered. *Salutes*
Kami-StrawHats looking out for their kids on the main. Of course Luffy experiences a brush with godhood and goes “meh, back to partying”. I can’t wait until the two groups meet in your dreams!
The Lougetown Marines had no idea what hit them XD. Chouji and Mayu in the kitchen together is such a cute image! Poor Hinata though, baby needs all the help she can get, good that Lee is comforting her.
Sibling!Naruto can be scary when either Lee or Mayu’s dreams are being threatened (though to be fair they’d probably be scary right back if someone threatened Naruto’s dream XD).
English lessons for everyone, especially Sasuke. The papayas and melon were a welcome addition to the menu, but still mysterious.
Sea stone and chakra interaction is pure gold. I love it so much.
Also the transition between Shika and Teach has me wondering who would trump who— could Shika’s shadow jutsu freeze Teach even while the black hole devil fruit was active, or would Teach’s devil fruit suck up the shadows and nullify the jutsu due to lack of light?
Thank you again for submitting this!

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Eighty: Dilemma ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata, Yamanaka Ino, Haruno Sakura ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: Of Monsters and Men ] [ AO3 Link ]
Her day’s off to such a good start. First, her one and only class (a morning one) gets cancelled, leaving her with a day to chip at anything she should be working on (and given recent happenings, a few projects are a little behind schedule - that tends to happen when you accidentally get involved in a world no human believes exists). Breakfast is relaxed, the typical student haunts a bit more empty than usual as most other classes in her block stay on. She even manages to brew a nice cup of tea before settling herself down at her laptop and opening her current in-progress essay.
...that’s when her phone gives a small jolt against her desk.
Hinata’s not one to get texted often - she’s a bit of a wallflower even now in university, and the few friends she’s managed to make seem to just...well, forget about her.
And she really wishes they’d have forgotten about her now.
It’s a demanding text from Ino. And reading it makes Hinata’s stomach sink.
Who was that guy outside the other night?!
Pale eyes stare widely at the little digital words that make her blood go cold with panic. Someone saw him. Someone saw Sasuke. Someone saw Sasuke with her.
And just like she feared, he’s attracted attention. Because no one that attractive would give her attention.
Picking up the phone and twiddling her thumbs over it, Hinata considers her answer, and jumps as another message arrives. This time, it’s Sakura.
Hey, Ino says she saw u with a hottie - scoop plz?
Crap oh crap oh crap -!
She fires off two general replies, one each, doing her best to deflect. But before she can even put the mobile down, more accusatory texts arrive.
Who is he?
How’d u meet him?
Is he single?
ARE YOU DATING?!
Can I meet him?
“Augh!” Tossing her phone on the too-firm mattress in her dorm, Hinata hears it softly buzzing against the blankets as more and more demands fly in. Folding her arms and resting her brow atop them, she groans and sighs. She knew this was going to happen - she knew it! She never should have let him drop her of, she never -
Wait! She has his number! Why berate herself about it when she can berate him? He got her into this whole dilemma, he can figure out a way to get her back out!
Picking up the phone and ignoring her friends, she finds the short message he sent to add his number and fires him a reply.
Hey! I’ve got 2 friends who won’t shut up about you! I tried telling them to drop it, it won’t work. What do I do?
Several minutes pass before she gets a reply she actually wants.
Make something up
Her lips purse tightly.
I tried that! They’re demanding to meet you and to know who you are! I’m not a good liar, Sasuke!
On the other end, rather rudely interrupted from his sleep, Sasuke drags a hand down his face. This girl is hopeless…
Tell them I’m a cop that took you home. It’s true enough, and should kill any interest.
She scoffs. Well...he’s sort of a cop. Just...not human, and...more protecting monsters than humans. Hinata’s just a weird in-between exception.
Opening Sakura’s tirade to reply, she nearly jumps out of her skin as someone pounds a fist against her door.
“Oi, Hina! Open up!”
...oh crap.
Opening it just a crack, she spies both girls looking expectant. “Guys, p-please - I have a paper to write, and -”
Completely ignoring her, the pair barge their way in, looking around as though expecting her to be harboring him somewhere. “Okay Hinata, you’ve got some explaining to do.”
“N-no I don’t!”
“Who was that guy? Tenten snagged a pic on her way in and this guy is drop-dead gorgeous. She’s been sending it to everyone and it just reached me - why didn’t you tell us?” As if presenting evidence of a crime scene, Ino shoves her phone in Hinata’s face, displaying said picture. It’s dark, and a bit grainy...but you can clearly see her and Sasuke in it, just after he took her back to her dorm.
“He looks like a model!” Sakura insists. “What were you doing with this guy?”
“I-I -!”
“And it was, like...super late. Were you hooking up with him, or -”
“H-h-he’s a cop!” Finally cutting in with a shrill shriek, Hinata stuns them both to silence. “I...I got mugged on my way home a few nights before, and -”
“Holy shit, what?!”
“Why didn’t you say anything?!”
“Cuz it w-wasn’t a big deal!” Well, it sort of was...she used her witchcraft for the first time, watched a vampire kill another vampire, and was almost drugged. But that wasn’t the night in question. “A-anyway, he’s the one who...who saved me. And then when I lost you guys? On the train? He -”
“Oh yeah, I remember that!”
“He just...t-took me home.”
Looking skeptical, Ino crosses her arms beneath her bust. “So you’re saying this super hot cop saved your ass, twice, and drove you home...and there’s nothing important about that?”
“N-no, there’s not! I’m not exactly p-planning on seeing him again. If anything, I’d like to s-stay out of trouble so I don’t have to!”
“Do you know his name? Anything about him?”
“N-no! Why would -?”
“You have to know these things, Hinata! If not for yourself, then so you can help a girl out! He’s so pretty - I’d kill to get his number!”
Hinata can’t help a small blanch. Oh, if only she knew how dangerous that would be…he’s a vampire! But...they can’t know that! If they did, they’d be -!
“Ugh, I can’t believe you let him get away without getting his number,” Sakura pouts, taking a seat on Hinata’s bed and cradling her chin in her palms, elbows on her knees. “I mean, he looks about our age...there wouldn’t be anything illegal about it, we’re all adults!”
“I’m not sure that’s -”
“Well, if you ever do run into him again, you have to tell us!” Ino insists, brandishing her arms. “Cuz if you’re not going to make a move, I’d certainly love to -”
“I’m not going to run into him again! It’s just...coincidence! He’s a cop - he was just d-doing his job! Neither of us were…were looking for each other!” Technically that’s a lie - he’s sought her out twice now, but...well, she’s not about to admit to that.
There’s a lot she can’t admit to right now.
“Ugh, fine - but you better let me know if you ever see him again! At least snap a better pic, okay? This one’s not that great.”
Hinata pouts. “...I’ll be sure to do that...now can I please get back to my homework? Some of us prefer to use our free time studying rather than gossiping.”
Clearly disappointed, both girls abandon the room, and Hinata shuts the door behind them...and makes sure to lock it before flopping face-down on her bed with a sigh.
...sure, this isn’t nearly as bad for her as nearly becoming vampire food, but...well, it’s still a huge pain. They’re doing to dog her for a while about this, if she knows them at all. If there’s one thing Ino and Sakura take seriously, it’s scouting the campus for attractive men.
Which, typically, is the last thing on Hinata’s mind, but...well, now she can’t help but think about Sasuke and how much trouble he’s getting her in!
Rolling over, she sends him one more text, expression sour.
I just got raided by two lusty ladies and it’s all your fault!
Checking his phone one last time, Sasuke snorts.
I’m afraid that’s outside my jurisdiction. You’ll have to handle them on your own.
Some great cop you are.
I don’t make the laws, witchy woman. I just enforce them.
A bit early for once! My "summer" job is starting soon, so I've got to adjust my sleeping habits, haha - I'll (hopefully) be posting earlier from now on!      Aaanyway, more witchy Hina and vampy Sasuke. As Hinata feared, he's attracting unwanted attention. Sure, he can't help his looks, but...SHE'S the one who has to deal with her friends drooling over him! And keeping them away from what they can't even know is a lot of danger is harder than it looks. Hinata hates lying! Which is why she's so poor at it! So, half-truths it is, then. That TOTALLY won't come back around to bite her!      ...of course, we'd rather something else would ;3      But yeah, that'll do it for tonight! Thanks, as always, for reading!

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Twenty-One: Time to ___ ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata, Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Inuzuka Kiba ] [ SasuHina, NaruSaku ] [ Verse: Healing Waters and Scorching Flames ] [ AO3 Link ]
Sasuke is a stubborn man. He won’t even make attempts to deny it. If his behavior in the past wasn’t example enough - clinging to his father’s old beliefs, refusing to back down over a war nearly a century old, hunting the Avatar all over the world - then perhaps his bullheadedness now may suffice.
It’s been a number of years since then. Most of them are on the cusp of finishing their second decade, their twenties looming before them. Naruto has been upholding his duties of Avatar well, working with the various nations to continue nurturing the new peace. Sakura is, more often than not, at his side to help ground his sometimes airy ideals. Kiba, what with Akamaru growing old, has retired the polar bear dog companion to a home in the south, but continues to work with the Northern and Southern Water Tribe navies. Hinata, a matriarch of the Southern tribe, works to help her nation rebuild, and both resettle and reintegrate the waterbenders taken captive during the raids.
Sasuke works tirelessly at his brother’s side to help the Fire Nation amend for their atrocities in the war...as well as his personal failings. Sure, he eventually righted himself and helped teach Naruto firebending to help him defeat his father, but that doesn’t erase his actions prior. And he’s nothing if not stubborn. Which means any perceived blight on his behavior needs making up for.
Sakura is just as belligerent. She blows off his ornate apologies with a blunt, “Yeah yeah, you screwed up, you turned your life around...that’s good enough for me. Just don’t go back to your old ways, or I’ll bury you myself.”
He...avoids talking to her for a while after that.
Kiba...stares at him. Squints. Gets up in his face and squints some more. And then accepts his apology. When Sasuke insists he needs to do more, Kiba offers him a job as Akamaru’s caretaker.
Sasuke refuses.
Naruto...he doesn’t even bother with Naruto. The airhead is so happy-go-lucky, insisting they’re best friends despite the past, Sasuke knows there’s no point. If anything, he’d probably just get upset. So, he refrains.
And then there’s...Hinata.
He’s not sure why, she’s just...the hardest for him to approach. She started out as such a timid little thing, but she grew into a fierce waterbender during their time skirmishing. Not to mention she was Naruto’s staunchest defender, what with the crush she’d had on him then. Which meant, when he’d tried to join them, her suspicions and distrust ran the deepest. Eventually it had cooled, and they’d had their fair share of moments that had helped build that trust. But then the war ended, and they went their separate ways.
He still sees her every so often. The group still meets from time to time, usually for political matters. But that also means they’re all busy with their respective tasks, and there’s little time for socializing.
Sasuke isn’t even sure what to say to her. Or if he should say anything at all.
But opportunities do sometimes present themselves...even if it’s in the worst of ways.
It’s yet another meeting of the old team. But this time, according to Naruto, it’s one of pleasure rather than business. No council hearings, no politicians, no schedules...just a rendezvous between five friends.
...that immediately makes Sasuke suspicious.
They find middle ground in the Earth Kingdom, it being the most in need of rebuilding and thus where Naruto spends most of his time, anyway. A cozy cafe in Ba Sing Se plays their host, and Sasuke quickly notices that it’s...oddly empty. Especially given that a meeting of the so-called Team Avatar usually draws a notable crowd of curious onlookers.
...he’s up to something.
Naruto greets them all fondly, full of hugs and handshakes and how-do-you-dos. Soon enough they’re all seated, and Sasuke flickers eyes between them all. Naruto is being extra fidgety. And Sakura looks ready to punch a hole in a wall...not angrily, just...nervously.
Knowing sparks.
“So! Uh...so.” Naruto steeples his fingers, splayed and spinning forward as he tries to find words. “You’re all...you’re all well?”
“Cut the crap and get to the point, Naruto,” Kiba cuts in, leaned back in his chair as it stands on two legs. He pouts, hands woven behind his head. “We all know you’ve got somethin’ to say, so just say it!”
“I, er...well...okay.” The airbender takes a deep breath, releasing it in a gust that flutters everyone’s hair. “So, um...it’s been a long time since we started reparations for...for things. Y’know, the world -”
Kiba groans with a roll of his eyes.
“AND,” Naruto goes on, ignoring him with a side-eyeing pout. “...Sakura and I have been working super hard on getting the world back in working order. And uh...y’know, that means we’ve been...spending a lot of time together, and…”
Suddenly the rest of the table knows what Sasuke already guessed. Kiba’s eyes go wide, nearly tipping back too far and falling over. Sakura bites her lip with a flush in her cheeks.
But Sasuke’s not watching them. He’s watching Hinata.
There was no resolution to their awkward, one-sided affection. At least, not that Sasuke ever heard. She stares straight ahead past them both, expression eerily...blank.
“So, we’ve...we’ve decided to get married! Probably next Spring! Cuz...we’ve still got work to do and all, and we don’t wanna rush things. And of course, you guys are all invited! You’ll be guests of honor! And, uh...yeah.”
Silence.
“...congratulations,” Sasuke offers, tone polite but clearly guarded.
“Yeah man, that’s...that’s great,” Kiba chimes in next, righting his chair with a nervous grin. “We’ll...we’ll definitely be there!”
All eyes seem to move to Hinata.
After a blink, she breaks into a warm smile. “It’s about time,” she replies. “Then again, you have both been very busy. Will it be held at one of the Air Temples?”
The group seems to exchange a glance. “Uh...w-we’re still planning that part! But...maybe! It would just be hard to get all the guests up there...there’s more bison now! They’ve started returning, but...well, not everyone likes flying. Which I’ll never understand! It’s so great! How can you not -?”
“Naruto, you’re rambling,” Sakura cuts in.
“I know, but seriously -!”
As the pair break into some of their typical bickering, Sasuke and Kiba lean in together. “You, uh...you expect that?” Kiba mumbles.
“Not in the slightest,” Sasuke replies. He glances back to Hinata, who just watches the other pair with a weary smile.
“...some things never change.”
With the tension broken, they all manage to have a decent meal, staying well into the evening as Naruto gets more and more rambunctious. But eventually Sakura calls it a night when he suggests showing off a new airbending move inside the cafe .
“All right, it’s late. We need to go.”
“Aww, but -!”
Shushing him with a hand, Sakura smiles - looking a little forced - at her friends. “We’ll talk to you guys later, hm?”
“...right,” Sasuke replies, clearly more than ready to go if Sakura’s temper is in any way awakening. The water tribe members quickly follow as he makes a beeline for the door.
“Well, I’m heading back to the inn...I think I actually ate too much for once,” Kiba admits, lifting a hand as he walks away in farewell. “See you later, guys.”
“Goodnight, Kiba.”
Sasuke just watches him go before turning slightly toward Hinata. “...are you, er…”
“Hm?”
“...are you okay?”
The question earns a startled blink. “...am I...okay…?”
Sasuke almost stops himself, but goes on anyway. “Regarding...all of that. Naruto and Sakura.”
“I...yes, I’m all right. Why…?” Understanding then brightens her face. “...oh. I’m not upset, Sasuke. Well...maybe a small, young part of me is. But...it was made clear a long time ago that Naruto never...saw me the way I saw him.”
“...oh.”
“Besides...we’re all adults now. Our lives are only speeding up.” She gives him a soft, somber smile. “...it’s time to move on. And move forward.”
Something in the bottom of Sasuke’s stomach drops at her expression. It makes her look so...mature.
...so beautiful.
Shaking his head a bit to clear it, he manages to reply. “Yes, er...you’re right. I’m...I’m happy for them. Though if they keep bickering like that, will it really last…?”
That earns a laugh. “I think if it was ever going to be a problem, they’d have left each other a long time ago. There’s something about it, I guess. Not...really what I could ever see myself doing, but it just works for them, I suppose.”
“...yeah.”
They lapse into silence.
“...well, I’m sure Kiba will want to get going early in the morning,” Hinata then offers. “I’d better get some sleep.”
“Leaving so soon?”
“I’m afraid so. There’s still much to be done in the south.” She wilts a bit. “...the raids took their toll.”
The feeling in Sasuke’s gut is replaced with an anxious clench. “...you know, I never truly apologized to you. For...for what I did. Everything that I did.”
“...Sasuke, that’s not -”
“I know you hated me at first, and I can’t blame you. Even all my deeds after the fact have been woefully insufficient. If there’s anything I can do to help make it up to you, just...please let me know.”
She stares at him, expression unreadable.
He stares back, not sure what else to say.
“...you don’t have to apologize.”
“But -!”
“Weren’t you listening? It’s time to move on. That means you, too. You’ve more than made up for your mistakes, Sasuke. The only thing you need to do now is keep making that right choice. Every day. So long as you do that...you have nothing else to worry about.” Another smile curls her lips, this time warmer. More hopeful. “...think you can do that for me?”
...for...her…? Suddenly his heartbeat is echoing in his ears. “...I...I can do that.”
“...good.” Clasping her hands at her front, Hinata gives a small bow. “Goodnight, Sasuke. Hopefully we can see each other again soon.”
“...goodnight.” Sasuke watches her go, the drum in his chest eventually calming as she fades out of sight.
...Sasuke, what are you getting yourself into…?
Oof...this is very late, I'm so sorry. I had...a very not great evening ^^; But I stuck it out and got this done. Hopefully the quality didn't suffer for my own shortcomings tonight.      I really do love crossing over this group with AtLA. I think they have some very workable parallels that are so fun to explore!      Anyway, I'm going to go sleep off a crummy day. I hope you all had a good one, and thanks so much for stopping by to read~
