🤔 I have an inkling that he’d be into fruits that are exotic to Wallachia during that time period. Common Asian fruits like lychees, persimmons, dragon fruits or jackfruits? Perhaps something sweet that one could find only by travelling abroad, like dates.

I headcanon Alucard to be attracted to the novel and peculiar, so that’s my guess. He probably would do some travelling and eventually discover such treats.

As for trees planted around the village… sure, Apricots are nice. Also… maybe an Apple orchard? Apple should be commonplace as Wallachia’s national fruit.

spoiler-ish for ghosted 2023

just watched Ghosted, the movie where Ana de Armas is an international spy with a mission and Chris Evans is a farmer (question mark?) with stalker tendencies.

first the good, i enjoyed the movie as entertainment. the cameos were great and fun, the humour was good and the action excellent in a spy kids-y mission impossible-y way.

i thought ana de armas was great at selling her role, she was really cool and oozed confidence. adrian brody was deliciously cartoonish as the bad guy with a fake French accent.

then the lukewarm: i didn't really buy the ana de armas / chris evans couple in this movie (when i really enjoyed them in knives out). i didn't find they had any romantic or sexual chemistry. their first date is honestly laughable and the whole time i was like "who takes care of this dude's stand at the farmer's market wtf?". Chris evans you know i love you but you were boring.

then the bad: pointing out that the character has obsessive tendencies and acts like a stalker doesn't mean anything if at the end the stalker guy gets the girl ! he didn't act Like a stalker he Was a stalker. He spent one cool date with her, had sex then sent her 11 whole ass messages, and tracked her down to another country !!!! Imagine for a second that her character actually is an art dealer regular person and chris evans would be an actual psycho. The whole taking a selfie while asleep is barf material (as a screen saver.....) Also his family makes sure that the audience knows that he genuinely is Like That with every girl he meets. Like sorry but if you remove the "chris evans factor" from this equation that dude is creepy af.

Idk it just irked me that they really thought by sort of joking about it in a "we're aware it's creepy" way we would forget it. they could have easily made up a reason for them to meet again by accident and then he is kidnapped and the movie still happens.

All in all this is a movie that relies heavily on Ana de Armas's charm and charisma (which thankfully she has a lot of). The romantic angle of it is disappointing as the two leads lack chemistry but the really amusing cameos and the cool action sequences make it a fun if a bit forgettable watch !
