During class you learn an interesting fact about demon teeth, and it takes over your mind for weeks after. What began as pure curiosity grows into something more passionate, but you can't just ask Belphegor to have a feel at his teeth, right?

Usually, anatomy class at RAD discusses the biology of non-demons, striving to educate their demographic on bodies that are different from their own. The bodies and its functions of werewolves, ghosts and even humans have been thoroughly discussed. But, with the upcoming exam, a revision of their own person was needed. 

Of course, demon’s anatomy wasn’t the only topic to be revised, so they only spent about two hours on it until they moved on. Still, despite having done a fair share of your own experiments with certain demons’ bodies, there were a few new neat things you picked up on. Their blood gets darker depending on general power and rank, horns need to shed and regrow every couple of centuries, et cetera, et cetera. The one thing that really stuck with you though, was the fact that, apparently, teeth slowly shift into a form closer to their respective animal over the years. 

It was strange that you never noticed. Even though Levi rarely opened his mouth (and when he did it went too fast to take a proper look), he did seem to have longer and sharper canines, which closely resembled a snake’s fangs. Satan, although you’d never say this out loud, did also have a rather horsey (unicorny?) teeth, especially evident when he was once again grinding them down in his fits of rage. All the other brothers’ animals didn’t really have teeth at all, so they all have pretty regular mouths. Well, all, aside from Belphie. Cows had teeth for sure.

It’s been a couple of weeks. The exam had gone by, and it went okay, you guess. There’s not much reason to care about grades if you’re stuck here anyway. What you do care about is the thing that still hasn’t been able to leave your mind for all those weeks. You watched and watched, but nothing about Belphie’s teeth seemed much more fundamentally different than, say, Beel’s. It kept you constantly awake at night, and your entire search history was filled with research on cow’s teeth. You even tried the oldest books on bovidae you could find in the library. Nothing mentioned how these animals affect an associated demon’s teeth.

What you also didn’t understand was the reason for your fascination with his teeth. You and Belphie had been more than platonic for a good bit now, so it wasn’t like it’s weird to be interested in him. But this enchantment, spending day and night thinking about such a specific part of him, it felt strange. Too strange to just ask him about it. 

As days and weeks continued, your interest never diminished. No, it grew stronger the longer you held off simply asking him. Now, anytime he decided to nap near you, you couldn’t keep your eyes off that mouth of his. A few times temptation got the better of you, and you moved closer to get a better look. It wouldn’t be rare to walk into a room where you and him resided, and to find you with a finger in his mouth. Just to get a better look of course. Nothing more. Simple curiosity. Or so you kept telling yourself.

You didn’t know how you managed to hide your interest from Belphie for this long. Maybe he was just too stupid, or maybe he was too enamoured with you in turn to notice. Beel picked up though. “Hi!” Cheerfulness is a scary look on Belphegor. You were entirely grateful for choosing to lock the door immediately. 

As you stood there, admiring the likely half-naked man in your bed, you had to force yourself to move. Prolonging the topic wouldn’t do you any good, and you were all too keen to reach the ‘good ending’ that has been so clearly presented to you by the demon in your bed. So, you sat down on the edge of your bed, way more nervous than you have ever felt in your own room.

“I-. Look.” Belphie didn’t move. You don’t mind. Something like this couldn’t stop Belphie loving you, but you couldn’t shake the fear off you that easily. Luckily, the one thing regarding feelings that Belphegor was good at, was affirming his admiration to you. 

As his fingers continued fidgeting with yours, like they had for the past while, he responded softly. “You really think something like that could stop me from being with you?” His eyes reached yours for the first time today. “Darling. All of us have little secrets like that. If anything, I’m more upset that you've waited this long to tell me.” A small smirk formed on his face. “Do you know how much fun we could’ve had with this already? I know you see me as your little pillow princess, but I do want you to enjoy yourself as well. I am totally not opposed to you getting a feel, yaknow.” His face inched closer, his soft lips pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek. “Are you up to satisfying your curiosities right now?” 

You felt a bit stupid for doubting he wouldn’t be eager to please you as well. So, as soon as you gave him a smile and a nod, his coyness dropped and a huge smile came to his face. “Awesome!” Within the next second, he put his arms around your neck in one swift movement, and pulled the both of you down to lay on the bed. Okay, review time!! If you are one of the oddballs who thinks you cant be critical of something you love I suggest you stop reading now before I ruffle your feathers. Iron flame, second in the empyrean series. I am gonna start with what I was not a fan of and then go into the shit I adored.

1) what in the actual fuck was the pacing of this book?? I can tell you what, it was non existent. There was none. Where I thought there was a lot of filler in the last book there was none in this one. We got snap shots of conversations and then *boom* more plot flew at you. The timeline of this book greatly suffered for it i think bc we end only a couple weeks, if that, after threshing, which happens sometimes in October. This book was actually so wild with times.

2) while it was a spectacular cliff hanger, xaden becoming venin pisses me off. Especially if Rebecca yarros isnt going to have him tell violet. 1) xadens arc in this book. I really liked that he went from "transparency is never gonna happen" to losing his fucking mind over violet and giving her everything. I love feral men and he qualifies. I think his arc was really well done and i liked it.

2) I appericiate that violet stuck to her guns for this book. She wouldnt let xaden off without a fight and I loved that. She made him bow and scrape and I was eating it up. It was spectacular.

3) the throne room scene. Violet on the throne. "Im making a temporary point not a lasting vow of maschocism" xaden being feral.

4) that gets its own point actually, just xaden being completely feral this entire book healed a part of my soul.

5) andarna's little speech at the end where she was like "I waited for you violet" made me ugly cry. That was just so hopelessly good I loved it. Andarna in general heals my heart but that part was just *chefs kiss*

6) tarin being completely and utterly ready to eat people this entire book. Just, at every turn "I want lunch their pissing me off " was spectacular

7) every scene their squad was in. Rihannon, violet, sawyer and ridoc are my roman empire. Their bond is so amazing. The fact that they launched a rescue mission for violet. Rihannon being ready to kill xaden at every turn. Ridoc being so platonically and adorably in love with violet. Just- augh happy cries happy cries. I love it all. Their so special tbh.

8) I love xaden actually, just, the whole book every scene hes in lives in my brain.

9) I liked that we saw a small bit of violet being feral this book too. I hope that we get more of that in future books. I want more of violet losing her fucking mind. Hot, badass women covered in blood

10) Liam. Fucking Liam. When violet was kidnapped and Liam was there. Now, do I logically understand that he was a hallucination, yes, do i care?? No. He was a gift from Maleck I will be hearing no critiques on that. It was so fucking sweet and amazing. I love violet and Liam and Liam being dead so horribly breaks my heart. I loved Liam. Imagine how chaotic it be for when hobie saves or tries to save r with his crew. Hobie ends up bleeding while he has retrieved r! He brings them back to the ship even though the whole way rs snakes have been hissing or trying to bite him. He isnt bothered by it, he can understand why. But when he gets to his crew ship with his crew they immediately have to leave. Think about hobie giving r food and asking them what things theyd like to make the snakes and them feel more at home. And like rs snakes are the way they can really see or know where to go or what to do in situations. Hobie understands that, he loves how the snakes looks and the way they movie and the color of them. (Which the color would just be the people reading haircolor meaning it is specific)

But yeah but soon when rs snakes realize hobie and his crew arent bad they get more free from trying to protect/shield reader. Imagine the kisses or licks that the snakes would give hobie after realizing. Imagine r knowing how to also do medical things with the snakes. They help ghey pilot. Maybe something could break the spell? Or maybe hobie tries to find a way to where r can live freely without an blindfold or glasses. Because imagine hobie falls inlove, like deeply inlove with r. Imagine how reader would be so deeply inlove with him too.

But how fearful reader would be and wouldnt want to harm hobie even if she cant fully see or not what he looks like. Even her snake vision is limited, not from seeing just from seeing colors, sometimes it sucks but reader cant do anything about it. Imagine when reader can and hobie sees their eyes. Their a beautiful shade but they arent human pupils its snakes. I also imagine r having a tongue like a snake. But hobie just hypes and gets even more in a trance by r. Even if r has some scales on places on her body. He thinkd r is gorgeous though, but r has never found themselves beautiful as theyve been scared of hurting people. They never meant to, they never could control it :(((

being last in family , we never were fluent or able speak it , just able listen and understand roughly as parents speak very frequently . but besides our big sis , think we only one in family who did have some kind interest

we also not really able give many as we have learn best from listening to parents talk , watching random khmer videos , and writing what we hear (we not able speak because semiverbal unable speak 95% of time or so )

personally is feel this youtube channel is best one found so far that teaches . made by native speaker and echoes true to how our parents speak it . gives more detail on things and way ppl actually speak

we use these two dictionaries though they not perfect : [1] [2] (1st one is easier use and have more stuff and can copy text , 2nd one is little harder to use , but can give more on word if not show up in 1st one , not able copy text) neither have "speak word" , but google translate robot voice usually very accurate

This site shared by another khmer american we met ! it looks very very good , but wasnt able use much as seem not always load , but hope it has better time with you

online khmer keyboard is recommend start use online / on screen keyboard and try learn desktop keyboard / get language keyboard installed on mobile stuff (apple comes with just need go language setting , our android doesnt so we use app call "phum keyboard" , it janky but works)

keyboard can be hard learn cuz it different across devices , but generally how remember is that letter sound is in same place and in rough latin equivalent place , shift is to change from Series A and B

but tbh , that Honestly really it , we dont really have or know much and most of what we know is just from parent speak and just learning script so know how write what they say down and use that to know how say other things

but here some personal tips from us ! (also is want remind that this more about written language than speaking since not able speak much)

1. learn khmer script and how works soon as possible and drop latin transliteration as soon as possible . khmer works in specific way that makes Much Easier if know script . lot of time you wouldnt know what word is what with just transliteration alone since it can be written many way . not help that transliteration not regulated and lot words can be transliterated in like , 5 ways 😭

2. From experience , it often resources made by non-khmer ppl tend be Very Very Wrong or poorly transliterated or badly explained . is often find there lot of issues in them and harder learn from them compare to stuff made by khmer ppl or native speakers .

3. dont be afraid make mistakes !! when we grow up learning language as children we always misspell or write wrong , this no different and it part of learning

4. Look things up directly with khmer language script instead of using english ! youll find so much more and is often how we find and watch random khmer videos , things like cooking and music .

5. incorporate khmer writing into things you do frequently and enjoy ! for example , we honestly learned best from just writing khmer casually on our art . we learn a lot from drawing (and since you like writing , you could make things like characters talking to each other little bit in khmer or try describe things in khmer !)

here some stuff weve done !

allowing language just be part of life and things like and enjoy instead of "this is specific important thing need treat different separate and need be school like learn" doesnt work for us . we sometime just draw write it , talk to ourself in it , be silly with it !

like if draw bird , write "bird" . if draw cat , write "cat" , and other stuff

write a bunch , speak a bunch whenever possible

6. heres more resource stuff we personally made (take with little bit of grain of salt , but feels work best and true to us and feel accurate as of now )

this is alphabet order and mix of pretty much everything weve seen , then use one that remember sound best to us ("ô /oh" also sometimes written as "er" , "â/au" also sometime written as "or" , but sound made is same and to us sound more similar to "au and oh" so that what most helps , khmer isnt tonal )

and here is thing we made to group them next to their series equivalent ! imo , remembering what consonant is part of what series and what vowel sound change to is hardest part of learning , (also sub consonants so that why always include ) so making this helped ton ! (we havent made updated vowel guide , man )

well dañarte is a certified Little Bitch, however part of his Thing is that hes pretending to Not be a Little Bitch, so i think it's all based on the circumstance of who is around and all that. if it's in public, he will probably go the route of pretending that he's above a Petty, childish dispute 😌 but inside he IS planning revenge and also trying to blow them up with his mind. and then if he's not trying to mask his bitch boy powers he's def being snarky and passive aggressive and maybe also just straight up rude right back. he will NOT be the bigger person!!! and he does not care what people think about him.

hmmm i think both char and dañarte are trained in fencing so if it's something like that, they might accept - oh and i guess also the magic thing. they do magic in this game. magic duels. yeah sure theyll do that too LOL. i'm thinking about those pomefiore PICK UP THE GLOVE npc guys fkdlsjfkdsl i think they would accept whatever the hell's going on there too LOL. char might attempt to reason or de-escalate first, but would ultimately accept if the person insisted, and dañarte might just go right into it lol. because he is a SHOW OFF!!!!! i am unsure how good they are but i think they'd both be at least decently skilled. they probs both have a bit of elegance to their fighting and are likely similar to each other since they grew up together as cousins, and probably learned a lot of their initial magic schooling and fencing and shit together. that and they were both rsa boys before dañarte goes to nrc.

fidel i think could get easily worked up and baited into it but since he's a first year i think he's less refined with his skills and maybe wouldnt do so well, but if it gets physical he's a Big Boy and could accidentally knock over the other person via sheer force of mass lol.

HOWEVER. the impression I've gotten so far is that yuya gets upset when his opponent is the one being cheered for (a good example was the michio duel and that annoying trivia kid duel. he didnt seem real happy when the audience was rooting for them and not him!) as opposed to…I cant believe I'm comparing him to dennis but. the dennis v gon duel was a great example of what I think a more genuine entertainment duel should be…they were playing the roles of hero v villain, and dennis was great at improv there, quickly turning into the villain when Straight Man to his Comedy Guy routine Gon accused him of being the Real Villain in that situation. like he ROLLED with it and was perfectly fine with gon winning bc it suited their lil story and the audience loved it! I think entertainment dueling SHOULD be like that, like improv and acting bc you're entertaining ppl. ur a performer. u need to go w the flow more.

(Okay, this might not have been the best duel to show it off bc 1. hes dueling JACK of all ppl who declared hes gonna WIN and. he Will. 2. this is a situation where hes trying to showcase the strength of the lancers, so it wouldnt do to THROW the duel. but he couldve played into jacks dramatics a bit, made himself out to be more of a dramatic underdog, or a potential upstarter…for wanting to be an ENTERTAINER I want to see yuya channel his dramatics a LOT more than he does. esp w jack of all ppl!) to me it feels like yuya also ties a LOT of his self worth to how other ppl perceive his role in duels too which is Unhealthy (and again. is an extension of the 'smile when u want to cry' stuff imo, also pretty unhealthy) I…dont know if any of this is That Deep or theyre just trying to make jack seem like an asshole. I WANT it to be this deep bc its a REALLY interesting trait for a protag to have!

-kinda love how ppl in the Tops are dressed like old timey victorians. (also a lot of them have very western names) it just creates a very. unique vibe 

-can I also just say i LOVE LOVE LOVE the trope in ygo of 'person does what they think is the final finishing move, then theres smoke and everyone is like :0 and when the smoke clears, the person is still standing in the duel because of some trap/spell/effect' IT HAPPENS SO MUCH IN ARC V AND I EAT IT UP EVERYTIME.

I mean, come on. Not every clone is going to have their comm on, and listening. Somewhere across the galaxy, someone must have been asleep. Someone must have had their comm muted.

All officers were just called to the bridge. And this one clone, he needs to use the refresher. It will just be one minute, so he mutes his comm and breaks off. But when he gets back, everyone is looking at him strange. We have orders, the Commander says. Let me play them for you.

Just after a battle, most clones were sleeping. In the middle of the night their.comms chirp. Priority alert. Some listen, some take a moment to wake up. And watch as their brothers stiffen. Another thing that kills me in the Tales of the Jedi trailer is how young Anakin looks before time is passed.

Hes what, 21? Hes 21 and hes barely not a teen anymore and hes given a 14 year old kid. In the middle of a war. Being told, hey she's your responsibilty now. Dont get her killed.

And so he pushes her, desperately. Giving her a little more than she can handle every time, but hopefully not enough to get her killed. He trains her relentlessly, again and again, having their own men (who shouldnt be either of theirs) shoot her over and over until she can hold her ground. Dueling with her until shes adept enough to battle a Sith Lord and win before shes old enough to legally be in the army.

Because she is his responsibility. And he loves easily and ferociously and dangerously.

(Hi, me again. I’m going to send a bundle of asks, one for each branch of the storyline. If other Watchers send in asks for characters then feel free to use their asks instead. These are basically so that there is definitely someone continuing the story in all areas.

First up is the embodiment of teenage angst and emo, the formerly abusive, forklift driving, is trying to be a better person and is getting there one step at a time, the one, the only, Virgil! Because I need to update him on Remy. This takes place in the original timeline, one or two days after Remy left Virgil’s apartment.)

*appears in Virgil’s apartment with eyes glowing dark pink*

I’m back! And not just back in your apartment, but back to the original timeline. I just time traveled to the past! Isn’t that cool! Anyway…

*excitement visibility fades and eyes revert to normal*

Truth is Remy wasn’t doing to good when I saw them. They were really shaken up and weren’t really engaging with their surroundings. They barely even noticed I was there. Now as I previously said I did come from the past, approximately one hour after they left your apartment, so they might be doing better now. I’m sorry I don’t have better news. But you should know that they’re being taken care of. I know you said that you didn’t want to know where they were, which I think was a good idea by the way, but I think I can definitely tell you that they are somewhere safe, with people who have Remy’s best interests at heart.

Now, this news update probably isn’t what you want it to be and it might cause some… complicated feelings to surface, so might I suggest an outlet for said feelings.

Please throw these at the wall. They are a way at letting out all your negative feelings without hurting anyone or damaging anything. Also I can temporarily soundproof the apartment if you need to scream. Screaming can also help. If you don’t want to do this then that’s fine. Also I’ve noticed that when you get upset you lash out, I want you to know that I understand that anything you say now is coming from a place of hurt and not a place of malice.

It was the middle of the night when your bright glowing eyes lit up the bedroom. Luckily Virgil was already awake. He was laying tangled up in the bedsheets with his head under the covers.

Faint music was coming from his headphones. He was half mumbling along but it sounded more like wails of despair.

"but does anyone" sob "notice but does anyone care" sniffle "saying you love me made" wiping away snot "things harder to bear!!! Oh!!! no room in this hell!!!!" sob. "Gerard you're right! There IS a corpse in this bed! And it's me!" sob.

When you began to speak he got startled and immediately sat up and threw the cover and headphones aside. He held his fists up like he was gonna punch whatever burglar had come into his apartment. But when he saw it was just you he relaxed again.

He had one of Remy's old t-shirts on him and his face was a bloated mess with eyebags galore.

He was in the middle of a yawn as you continued to speak but as soon as you mentioned time travel all the exhaustion disappeared in an instant.

"TIME TRAVEL?? Like some Doctor Who shit? Augh that makes sense! You're a british ghost! Of course you would know that guy!"

Virgil pulled up his fists again and punched the air towards you.

"You better not go back in time and strangle baby me!! You translucent little fucker!" He gasped "NO! Don't tell me you're gonna prevent my parents from getting together!! You sneaky bastard!"

Your eyes stopped glowing and he let out a loud

"A-HA!!" He pointed at you "I knew it! Those are murder eyes! I told them! When people said it was ridicolous to be anxious about being killed via time travel I was right all along! I am like a genius- No. No. I'm not. I am very stupid. But I am right!"

You simply stayed floating in the air waiting for his sleep deprived glibbering to be over. Once he seemed to have calmed down you continued. Mentioning Remy seemed to be enough to make him forget about the time travel.

".....they....they weren't doing good...okay...okay.."

Virgil looked down onto the bedsheets. His eyes darted all over and his hands pulled in the sheets as he thought.

"why dID THEY EVEN LEAVE THEN!? IF THEY'RE JUST GONNA KEEP PISSING AWAY THEIR TIME BY BEING AN OVER EMOTIONAL M-"

The basket of soft squishy balls dropped directly onto his head. It fell onto the bed. He rubbed the back of his head while glancing between you and the stressballs.

"Seriously? You want me to play with some stupid balls to calm down? When I was CLEarly in the right about knowing what was best for them! See! They left and they're still miserable! They just got a bunch of yesmen around them now! If you were gonna make me play with balls you could have at least gotten me the real things!"

You continued on with the last part of your message. Virgil kept looking at you with the most angry grimace conciveable.

"HEy don't you come here with that ignoring me lashing out! I'm an asshole! How dare you sit- uh- float there and 'Take' what I'm saying! That's just enabling my shit! You're friends with Doctor Who, you can soundproof me! You can fucking leave! You can time travel APPARENTLY??! I am sure Oswald giving me a nosebleed came from a place of hurt of his stupid pride that doesn't mean I just took it! or well i kinda did 'cause he left immediately afterwards. BUT I was very angry about it! Fuck you if you don't fight me every time I lash out at you! NOw excuse me but I am about to destroy my wall!"

He continued to quietly grumble to himself as he laid down on his side. He pressed his face against Remy's pillow while his hand aimlessly felt around for the closest ball.

He threw it at the wall and thought he was going to catch it and look cool but he had thrown it so hard it just flew back right over his head. He threw another, and another, and another.

All he could think about was Remy staying with other people. He knew he should be happy that they were safe but a much more volatile part of him would rather have it so Remy was starving on some park bench. That they would be alone and shaking with fear so he could come and save them. He could make everything right.

He threw another ball while grinding his teeth together "i wanna strangle them. i wanna strangle them so fucking bad. how dare they. how dare they. i hope the people keeping them safe fucking choke. i want to hold them down by the neck until their face is blue and they can't move a single fucking finger. see how that makes them feel. i want to beat their teeth out. i want to make them fucking quiver at every single movement I make" He muttered out.

All of his muscles were tensing up. His breathing uneven. His face frozen in a grimace that made his cheeks hurt.

"GOOD!" He yelled as he threw another "I hope they're shaken up! I hope they're regretting leaving me! I- I hope the people they choose to leave me for- I hope they- use Remy up and throw them to the fucking curb afterwards!! I hope they're- they can't sleep at night! I hope- I- They shouldn't be with anyone else! I-"

His mouth stayed half open as he grasped for words. Grasped for some reason behind his anger. Some explanation for why he was in the right. For why Remy didn't deserve safety if that safety didn't involve him.

He gave up and just kept muttering out swearwords and empty threats as he continued to throw the stressballs against the wall.
