I've been on a design kick lately, and had the brilliant idea to do minimalist posters based on famous go games. Having far too much fun.
This game is the (in)famous ear-reddening game between Yasuda Shusaku (later known as Honinbo Shusaku) and Inoue Gennan Inseki. Partway through the game, Shusaku played a move that caused Gennan's ears to turn red because he started to silently panic. Shusaku, against expectation, won the game.
Prints etc available on redbubble.

Where is Go tumblr. I want to see people hornyposting about joseki this instant. I want to see people dunking on other people for losing a capturing race. I want to reblog people talking about white and black stones on a board please.
And most of all, I want any people to play with pleaseeeee

a love letter from an idiot to a goddamn strategy game
i fucking love go, i suck at it but it’s fine. i wanna play go
come on it should not be so satisfying to put rocks on a board in pretty patterns and try to make those pretty patterns bigger than someone else’s rock patterns
actually nevermind it absolutely should be so satisfying.
i mean come on i played a game a couple days ago and made a territory that looks like a goddamn bunny!! BNUY!
also ive had the privilege of playing mostly players that are significantly better than me and a lot of them give me tips on how to make my pretty rock patterns work better
i love this fuckdamn game

‘An Eye Means Death’ — April 2023
I watched ‘The Glory’ on Netflix recently (10/10, highly recommend) and got inspired to draw a go board and stones. In go/weiqi/baduk, this formation is called an “eye”, so I just put a literal eye in the centre of it. The surrounded black stones are “dead”.
This is my first piece on CSP! Thank you so much to MT, K, and Moose for the feedback and the help!

how do i get into go? gimme a quick start guide on stuff i should avoid and do and what not
oooh good question thanks for the ask!
youtube
In Sente has a really good intro series on youtube that I think is pretty unmatched. Clossius has a more complete/slower paced intro here. There's also an interactive tutorial I like here
The best place to start playing go is OGS. Create a 9x9 game against one of the computer opponents (weaker is towards the top, something that's 20-30k) and try it out. You'll probably lose your first time, and that's OK--the universal advice for starting out is to "lose your first 50 games quickly"--don't stress about losing, but try to learn something from each game. After 10 or so games or whenever you feel confident, try out human opponents.
r/baduk has a list of cool resources here. If you want to improve, at some point you'll want to do puzzles to train your brain: here's a good site. For video stuff I really like Nick Sibicky lectures because they're poorly produced and have bad sound quality, but there's tons of other good go videos out there.
(Also friend me if you'd like, I'm @kaiasky on OGS and am happy to play or review games :))
