Doing a bit of before-bed doodling for Artemis' terrifically edgy belt buckle poison knife (affectionate) based off the original text description. Knife reference sourced from this site, apparently folding knives were a whole thing! Switchblades have a venerable history apparently!

And of course, the belt-buckle dagger showed the very finest craftsmanship and enchantment. Never once had it failed to spring open to Barrabus’s command. Its poison delivery system, real human veins etched along the five-inch blade that pumped poison to the edges and the point, was one of the more remarkable weapons the assassin had ever carried. All Barrabus had to do was fill the “heart” of the knife, set in the hilt, and with the slightest of pressure, he could make that poison flow to its deadly blade.

Barrabus held his knife hilt up. He flipped back the retractable bottom half of the ball counterweight at the base of the knife, revealing a hollow needle. Onto this he jabbed the rubber stopper of the phial. Barrabus’s eyes sparkled as he watched the translucent heart of the knife fill with the yellow liquid.

You yelped as two gangly arms wrapped around your waist. Before you had time to react in any other way you were turned around to feel a familiar pair of lips crash into yours. “About time you got back.” You giggle as you pull Barabus closer to you and kiss him back. The two of you didn’t pull away from each other as you started to back up to your couch; leaning into each other so much that you were about to topple over.

The problem with your plan was the fact that you forgot just how far away you actually were from the couch. The first thing you ran into was the coffee table causing some of the items on it to scatter onto the ground. He tried to redirect the two of you to the nearby wall, accidentally crashing you into a bookshelf and toppling over some of the odds and ins that you had sitting on it. Neither of you could be bothered to care about this and he started to kiss down your neck. Third time was the charm as you finally managed to turn the two of you around and actually fall onto the couch this time, pulling him down with you.

You grabbed the collar of his shirt and used it to yank him back up to kiss you properly. Barabus responded by placing a hand on the back of your head to push you closer to him; sharp nails slightly scraping at your scalp as he did so. “Hm, I should leave town more often. Liken’ the greeting I’m gettin’.” He growled playfully into the kiss. You scoffed and rolled your eyes. “You don’t have to go out of town for a week from me to kiss you, you dork.” He snickered deviously before kissing you more desperately. “I just might have to take you up on that offer.”

Let me recap what happen to my dark little raven

My little flightless bird.. spent her summers in Paraíso at the invitation of her godfather Vergil. Her mother divorced her father, because she was more in love with her work.. that actual husband and married a priest named Barrabus, together they had two children - Katherine and Gabriel.

By royal degree was sent to Blackwood Island with other misfits, to begin her “ education” where she was immediately introduced to Michael Blackwood, the man she was advised she was going to marry. Until, summer came.. and she fell.. deep and madly in love with Caspian, and he with her. The following year Henry and Ingrid joined for their “ education.”

Two peaceful years passed and Caspian was removed from school and advised he was arranged to marry Aviva of Hillside.

Completely heartbroken, she sulked her broken heart with Edwards of Paraíso. Who pretty much convinced her - she should probably do something to get his attention. Attack a village?

..Caspian suddenly decided he wanted to be good guy and had a great friend named Katy Areli, the daughter of the new duke of Nightfall. Together they had a mission to save Edward and Serena.

Out of love, Serena broke a vow and revealed secrets to Caspian, who.. betrayed her by telling those secrets to his mother. They two remained casual, until it was revealed Serena had broken her vow to Arielle of Gazer. As punishment, Arielle burned alive Serena brother and mother. Out of Anger, Serena discovered Arielle weakness and killed her.

Charles, seeing as how Caspian could never advance to being the prince the kingdom deserved, prepared a special poison to remove Serena from everyone life. He advises, the drink was from Caspian. The drink nearly killed her.. had it not been for Morgan, who warned her the drink almost killed her.. and her unborn child.

As payment for saving her life, Morgan could keep the child. Serena, went on to basically consume her heart with rage and hatred, training with Lorenzo, Marcus, and Charles. The friends who she met through the years, betrayed her to keep their friendship with Caspian. Who, ironically he would betray them for the love or rather the respect he wanted from his. father.

What will happen now?

OK so I’ve had a shower thought sometime after making this post. As I’ve been talking about the consequences of speedrunning Bloodlines in regards to general plot, I’ve only really named one serious one, which is that Nosferatu get screwed. I know there are actually tons of different consequences (usually tragic ones since quests are usually about solving someone’s problems), plenty of which would have great impact on LA’s future, Kindred and kine, unless we plan to deal with them somewhere on the cycle. Take plague, or tape, or novel. But I’ve only talked about Nosferatu because that’s what comes into my head first.

Again. Throughout the whole game the only reason you deal with Nosferatu is for getting information out of them - specifically, two questions:  1) how to get to that warehouse 2) where is the sarcophagus. Which means if you have that info (which you do have starting with iteration 2) you have literally no reason to help any Nosferatu. None. 

This reflects the canon well, given what I know. Nosferatu overspecialised themselves as information brokers. Being so good at it that they’re irreplaceable is generally their only means of surviving socially. (Or is it? Maybe I’m just thinking of it from Camarilla’s point of view too much.) Yeah, that might be known to everyone, but I still like how it’s lingering there during the game. (Although I would also really like if they broke this impression and put some random Nosferatu that provides you with something other than info gathering. Wait, does the post-delivering vampire count?)

You know what, after writing it all out I came to a conclusion that I’m wrong. If nothing else, leaving Barrabus at Mandarin’s mercy is willingly giving up Cainite weaknesses to enemies, and monster-infested anything would threaten the Masquerade. Bertram is still screwed though.
