#undertale #deltarune #utdr #gaster #ok ​little bit of rambling bc ive been catching up on a LOT of deltarune stuff #something something guy(s) who cant be perceived without also ceasing to exist #i had the thought yesterday that. gaster is sort of the anti-chara in a way. if you say his name he ‘disappears’ #the game crashes or resets etc. literally the opposite of invoking chara lol #plus how chara is so associated with deletion of worlds. and here gaster is wanting to create new ones #creating new worlds. creating a vessel for the player. creating connections #and its so much more sad when you think about how deltarune is like. fundamentally his attempt to connect with the player #he can maintain a connection with us. but we can’t see him. or show him his own name. or acknowledge his identity in any way #or else that connection will be severed. or he’ll disappear. or he’ll cease to have ever existed #mystery man goes away the moment you interact. egg man was never there but he gave you an Egg #etc etc #the white egg noelle was given in her game makes me think about this too because #that egg remained there the whole time she was afraid of it. it couldnt be thrown away. it wouldnt hatch. it was just There #and then when she comes back later and decides to take care of it like any of her other pets. so like queen Was Going To be a calculator. i have to wonder how far into development this was changed, since her design is still clearly reminiscent of it but there are certain things in-game that do rely on her being a computer (like her concern for/fixation on noelle and her searches)

but since it was changed to her being the laptop, why didn’t they make it resemble her? like why not make it a blue laptop

#i DO have a headcanon that answers for this but i just have to wonder #since she Says she’s a computer and is implied to be the laptop specifically why doesn’t it look like her like the (unused)calculator does #anyway my headcanon is that she’s actually the motherboard of the computer #and the computer itself is her mansion #bc like swatch and tasque manager are programs on the computer #it doesn’t seem out of place for her to be a darkner of a Physical component of the computer #and her being blue is bc Well Some Motherboards Are Blue #and also her being the motherboard bc. all the mom jokes made abt her and her parallel to noelles mom #and well also a motherboard is why a computer functions at all. so her Calling herself a computer doesn’t feel inaccurate #deltarune #words from the monarch #if queen stayed a calculator chapter 2 would’ve been berdly-centric instead of noelle-centric /j

#i hope this is readable lol #deltarune #susie #noelle holiday #suselle #art tag #man i had a whole thing to type up here and now i forget most of it. ummm #basically ive been thinkin about suselle with the new info we got from the sweepstakes #specifically from noelle's perspective. because up until chapter 2 she wants susie but she doesnt KNOW susie #its an extremely shallow crush which is normal for teenagers but what makes it interesting to me is #how noelle sort of seems more attracted to the danger susie poses than susie herself #and she doesnt really make an attempt to get to know susie personally until ch 2? iirc? #and before that almost seems to hope that susie will treat her as badly as she treats kris #and you could argue whether its bc of noelle's psychological problems or if its just. yknow. a fantasy #either way my point is shes not really thinking about susies feelings. shes not trying to reform the bully or something #so consider this little lyric comic as taking place in noelle's fantasies pre-ch1 #BUT #all that said it doesnt mean noelle isnt open to getting to know susie. obviously #when she sees an opportunity noelle does reach out and not in a way where shes trying to provoke susie to hurt or threaten her #she gives susie a gift and invites her to study together. not to mention the whole ferris wheel thing #i actually think noelle didnt even consider that as an option until susie and kris became friends #and even after chapter 2 noelle doesnt really know susie all that well. and to her susie still exists mostly in the realm of fantasy #but its a start. and they have so much more room to grow and understand each other better #plus susie clearly already cares a lot about noelle #moral of the story is suselle is more compelling than just 'shy girl plus mean girl' #and i like it #good night
