New headcanon going off of @underworldsheiress's comment on my post...

Beast struck a deal with Hades to release all the dead villains' souls from the Underworld in order to bring them back to life and keep them trapped on the Isle. He told Hades that he would be spared if he did this, before double crossing him and keeping him trapped on the island with everyone else.

Soo one of my besties went to America for the summer and got me the first descendants graphic novel (NB I haven't read any of the graphic novels nor have I fully read the other books) after years of talking about wanting to get them I am so happy. (You're probably wondering why I didn't just buy it myself or ask my family and it's simple they said it was childish and these kinds of books were for children younger than me)

Anyways I not too long ago finished reading it and I wanted to say this

We’re not a fairytale AK main character: Arriana

The thing with Arriana is that I’m going to go into an AK hating VKs for no reason/ being prejudice against them. The OG/ former king and Queen were her parents, who when fighting the villains quite literally died creating the Isle as a last resort when they weren’t able to finish off the all the villains. So she has a very bitter view towards the villains and the Isle as a whole.

 Beast and Belle took over the throne until she’s of age and the youngest age you can be is 16 and she wants it to bring her parent’s legacy back. But she’s really bitter and reserved because people either pity her or there’s a lot of pressure on her because her parents were these great royals to stop the Villains and gave up their lives. She doesn’t know that Beast did mistreatment to the Vks like not giving them proper food, in her eyes the get three meals a day. This is all to say there’s going to be a couple of arcs before she’s cool with the vks or wanting to go out of her way to help the Isle. I’ll explain the royal hierarchy in the epilogue so you know why she and Ben are to be wed but Ben is who really speaks for the VKs in this partnership.

There will be a showdown between her and Mal where they throw blows at each other as a replacement for the scene where Hades give Mal the ember. Mal basically does the whole “For xx years I had nothing!” and Arriana’s response shows both sides have struggled and instead of going tit for tat they need to worry about problems on hand and fixing the bridge between them.

I wonder if that's ever going to come back into play? #Slight re-ordering of events for the funny punchlines but we're close to getting back on track. #The mianmian stuff happening right after we also have a Torment Tortoise looking for blood makes this scene so chaotic. #A good kind of chaos as it is supposed to be overwhelming and anxiety inducing! #I have been sitting on the idea of the Beast being just a normal turtle with a knife for ages. Years in fact. #It's stupid as hell but that's sometimes what art is. Indulging the past you who would have loved to see the dumb thing be drawn. #Making it canon now that A-Qing's turtle (the one pd-Lan Sizhui found) is a descendant of this turtle. #Maybe she was so defensive because she has eggs she was watching over! King Ben pins you against the wall in front of everyone and kisses you

Everyone knew that Ben was the nicest guy in Auradon prep. He would give you the shirt off his back. Literally. Like the one time when Ben took off his shirt and gave it to one of his fellow students.

He was beloved by all and without any skeletons in his closet. Well, except maybe two skeletons. Number: Ben was bisexual. He's never told anyone else because he was afraid of what they would say. Number 2: He was a real beast.

Just like his father, Ben had a beast side. It rarely came out to play, but there were certain things that triggered it to come out. Y/N happened to be one of those triggers.

Something about the Isle's boy made Ben-Beast come out. He was possessive and territorial. Which is why when Ben saw Chad talking to Y/N, his whole demeanor changed. He was no longer candy gumdrops and rainbows.

Ben growled and grabbed Chad by the scruff of his neck and bared his canines. "Mine!" He threw Chad against the lockers as people gasped in horror.

Y/N was vaguely impressed in Ben's burst of anger and possession, but before he could comment on it, Ben slammed him against the wall and kissed him.

People were shocked to see their king kissing a VK. More importantly, a male who was the son of Hades and Chernabog.

Theory on how Sophie ended up on the isle

So, we know that Beast is a dick, right?

And we know that Sophie is from Auradon, right?

And we know that every AK/VK has a name similar to their parent/s.

And, well, “Sophie” is about as close to “Snow White” as it gets.

Anyways, after establishing those points, here‘s the theory:

King Florian - Snow White‘s Husband - had a disagreement with King Beast, for reasons that you can decide on yourself.

This was around the time that Yen Sid had been sent to the isle.

And so, King Beast sends him a message asking if he needs an assistant, before, not waiting for an answer, sending a toddler-aged Sophie to the isle. She‘s allowed to go to Auradon during the summer break.

And that‘s it. Also, “do you want Chad/Audrey/Lonnie/whatever other AK is running around in Auradon to end up like Sophie?” is probably a good intimidation.

Ben headcanons include...

Ben would definitely spoil you rotten

you want something you shall receive, gifts at least 4 times a week if not more.

he would be busy of course so he makes sure to plan 2 dates or more per week but sometimes that doesn't happen so any alone time with each other is a gift.

He is super shy with PDA in public with small kisses on the forehead, side hugs or just holding hands. But oh man, in private kisses left and right, cuddles lots of cuddles, he especially loves to bear hug you or hug you from behind your waste with more kisses on your neck.

He would check up on you before and after events to make sure you are okay. Obviously, he knows dating a king is hard with all the press, rumors, etc so he always makes sure you are okay.

Ben loves it when you wear his shirt or crown.

he loves to kiss you, forehead kisses, hand kisses, nose kisses, and even neck kisses but Kisses on the lips are his favorite.

Beast is definitely an idiot in Descendants, but to call him a villain is stretching it when its clear the writing just needed any royal character from Disney films to unite all the kingdoms and make the Isle, with zero intentions to explore the character beyond that.

both of them are a bit gruff on the outside but kind on the inside while struggling deeply internally with their own morality. both of them are effortlessly cool in a way that the other doctors can’t really match. they’re both sarcastic and funny and care more about being kind than being nice.
