What if kyuu started a gang of female rabbits?

That would be very interesting to see! I wonder how that would happen. 🤔

Kyuu wasn’t utilized enough to know if she could be a leader but I can see her starting off as a protector and provider (her fighting skills and using the money she earn in matches to support herself and other rabbits). The question would be would she rise to the occasion and how she earns that loyalty.

I think we can assume Haru isn’t the only rabbit who struggles with being seen as small, vulnerable, and weak and not being taken seriously due to her height. Other rabbits probably feel the same or feel like they aren’t allowed to protect or advocate for themselves (due to being easily overpowered by larger carnivores or because a small herbivore that is ‘supposed to be cute and happy’ being setting boundaries would be considered rude?(?)).

I’m just picturing the members of this rabbit gang varying from these negative expectations, stereotypes, and experiences. Maybe some have lost friends or relatives to predation or were almost devoured themselves. They could also be victims of sexism and have never been taken seriously or ever respected.

If Kyuu were to lead or be part of such a gang, I think it’s possible the general attitude of this gang will be female rabbits who are sick and tired of being undermined, disrespected, dismissed, and victimized by society and want revenge or want to serve as protectors to other small herbivore women.

How do you think Gouhin feels about his son compared to san and Kyuu and vice versa (How do Kyuu and San see gouhin knowing that he has a "real" son out there)

This is interesting.

I cannot remember if Gouhin ever interacted with either San or Kyuu in the actual manga. I know that Kyuu wrote letters to Gouhin but I can't recall if they physically interacted in any way...

Gouhin’s decision to leave his family to work full-time at his rehabilitation clinic is both selfish and selfless.

On the one hand — yeah, he has abandoned his family. On the other hand though, he’s giving carnivores a chance to rehabilitate that they otherwise would not get.

I want to believe that Gouhin finds some way to keep in contact with his family — even if he only contacts his wife and son once every couple of months.

Yet, I do think that there's some sort of resentment that Gouhin’s family holds towards him — very few people would be happy if their loved one just up and left, with no intention of coming back.

However Gouhin feels about his family, it's clear that he feels stronger about his work in the Black Market.

This isn't to say that Gouhin doesn't love his son, or wife ... but, for whatever reason, he prioritises the Black Market more.

At first glance, it seems like the sort of thing Kyuu and San would be confused about — how could you willing leave your family to go to the Back Alley Market?

And sure, maybe Kyuu and San discuss such a thing among themselves ... but they never breathe word of their thoughts to Gosha.

San is content with assuming that Gouhin had his reasons for leaving his family, but Kyuu just can't wrap her head around it.

I can see Kyuu writing letters to Gouhin, asking and questioning him about his decision. She’s too ashamed to send those letters, but it also feels like a waste to burn them, so, she keeps them.

While Kyuu and San may see Gouhin as a surrogate parent (or at least, guardian of some kind), I don't think Gouhin views them in a similar fashion.

Gouhin seems the type to draw a firm line between his work and personal life ... Kyuu and San both fall into the former categories, for him.

I may be happy about this new season of beastars but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna absolutely rip into these arcs. I hate hate HATE them. even if studio orange manages to make it bearable I'm still gonna complain and bitch about it

Now that I think of it, it would have made so much more sense if the one Kyuu betrayed wasn't Legoshi but Louis.

In her eyes, Louis was spirited away to a bright future where he got everything she could never hope to have: money, status, safety, an education, future prospects while she was left behind and to her knowledge, forgotten. And to make matters worse, her former cellmate was sympathetic towards the very carnivores that made her life hell. If she betrayed Louis for getting the power she always yearned for and not using it to take revenge on the carnivores for what they did to them, that would have made her betrayal feel less of a money grab and rather a personal sense of ehat amounts to justice and would have been more impactful.

General Headcanons

I feel as if the basic wants are the same across any character: someone who treats their partner well.

Any interested carnivores have a tough road ahead of them: San and especially Kyuu have very vivid memories of their time spent as livestock.

What they saw as children stuck with them. There's no erasing the memory completely; both San and Kyuu have learnt to cope with it.

San’s Ideal Partner

While it isn't inaccurate to say that San’s standards are low, it's better to reframe it as San being open to most sorts of people.

He is extremely wary of carnivores, and he will likely remain that way. Rest assured though, that San is trying to change the way he thinks. After all, there's a difference between reasonable wariness and random distrust.

San is very sensitive of the fact that his BAM upbringing meant that he lacks the academic qualifies needed to better himself. He also knows that he probably won't ever get the chance to study in the hopes of landing a good career and moving out the Black Market. Any prospective S/O needs to be comfortable with this.

Kyuu’s Ideal Partner

an S/O that treats her as an equal (no pitying her upbringing — or lack thereof).

I will say that as a result of her childhood, Kyuu is very distrusting towards carnivores. If the S/O is a carnivore, then expect hostility from Kyuu. I truly can't see her getting with a non-herbivore at all.

On equality in the relationship, Kyuu wouldn't want to be treated differently based on her species or sex. That extends to simple things, like helping Kyuu reach places that are too small for a rabbit to reach — there's a 50/50 chance that she will take it as her S/O somehow "looking down" on her.

Just something to keep in mind.
