“Every now and then, it’s important to talk about achievements and moments, but in everyday life, it’s important to get straight back to work. [...] It’s motivating, but it’s not something I want to sit on or dwell on too much because where are you going next. What’s the next song?”

(Oh No by Biig Piig)
Hushed vocals can feel forced but not the case with this track where it works well, stirring up memories of the track To Be Free by Emiliana Torrini from when it appears in the underrated Kirsten Dunst and Jay Hernandez movie Crazy/Beautiful that was released in 2001.

Heard this song for the first time tonight while skating at the local outdoor roller hocking rink. Had Siri indentify it. Added it to my Summer Roller Skating Vibe spotify playlist.
I am not obsessed with this song. Not at all. Nope. What gives you that idea? *plays it again for an unhealthy amount of times.*
Wondering how I can incorporate this into my novel.
The type of story I'm writing is sci-fi fantasy, but it's really about life, regular life, and people living it, but in space. It has a lot of little things most sci-fi shows overlook in favor of big battles and drama.
My story has micro moments like Will napping in the pilot's seat he's not allowed to sit in, Terra hover skating in the cargo hold, Yune in the lounge dancing in his socks to music either playing from his earbuds or the ship's sound system, and Selka sitting on her meditation cushion in the lounge, completely comfortable with Yune dancing in the background with a datapad in hand with specs on a hobby project he's working on.
The galaxy has popular bands, indie bands, local groups, and the characters have their favorites.
This also means they'll stupid-dance on the ship to songs they like.
I think this is one that Yune would like after hearing Selka play it when she was cleaning up the galley that he refused to clean, with her hair pulled back in a lazy bun. Will and Terra heard this coming from the lounge while they were cruising through real space between jumps and asked Yune to turn it up.
Stupid dancing ensued.
This is now one of Terra's top favorite songs that aren't from her mix CD that came with her from Earth.
The Horizon isn't just a spaceship. It's a living, breathing home to a small disaster found family. :)
You have to stay sane in space somehow.
