A gay “kiss-in” demonstration
Yonge and Bloor streets, Toronto, 17 July 1976

On February 9, 1976, gay activists Tom Field and Bill Holloway were arrested at the corner of Yonge and Bloor streets in Toronto for kissing in public. They were charged with obstructing the sidewalk and committing an indecent act. Ironically, the men had been posing for photographs for an article on homophobia to be published in the now-defunct newspaper Alternative to Alienation. …
Field and Holloway were found guilty of committing an indecent act by Judge Charles Drukarsh on July 13, 1976, and were each fined $50. The ruling infuriated Gay Alliance Toward Equality [GATE], the Body Politic, and members of the community. The need for protest was in the air, but only a very special kind of protest would do.
A few days later, on July 17, GATE and the Body Politic sponsored a kiss-in to support the right for gay people to publicly show affection. About twenty people paraded in same-sex couples at Yonge and Bloor streets, kissing as they walked. Policemen watched from the sidelines, but did not intervene. The protesters had made their point. — Donald W. McLeod

Ted isn't in here because he would totally win if he wasn't and I'm curious on idk who the second best would be. These are all the ones I could think of that I'd consider to be "tragic", although I definitely missed a few

What if in some universe, another identity, miss Holloway was a librarian?
As a librarian, I know a lot about people in my town - what people read tells you a lot about them. I know who's unhappy with their partner, I know who's children struggle with their mental health, I know all of the gossip of the old ladies.
Miss Holloway could spy on the citizens pretty easily- she would organise the library in a way that books about the paranormal would be just in her line of sight. If someone would come to the library for information, she would be there to help.
Jane used to come a lot, taking one or two books for herself ans some books for tim. Tom was pretty lost the first time he took Tim to the library, but after a while he started to look at some books himself.
The nerds, of course, are always there. Pete took Steph to see the library once. She took a comics and almost forgot to bring it back. Grace is... Grace. No smut in the library.
Linda is there with her blonde boys, despising every second of it. River is just trying to read and his brothers won't let him.
Becky used to come all the time, reading every romance book, but for a long time, she arrived once a year, apologising for returning the books so late and not staying fir more than two minutes. After her husband "left her", she came back to reading regularly.
Charlotte is one of the sweet religious woman that reads the most erotic shit you've seen. I see so much of them.
Bill is reading emotional and inspirational books, and lately he took some books about parenting. Sometimes he runs into Sylvia, who's reading sweet romance books.
Mr Davidson took every erotic book he could find.
Zoey tried reading les mis, got bored and never returned it.
Young ted took books about flirting.
Alice and deb go on dates in the library. I saw a straight couple do it once, it's adorable. Alice and Deb are both fandom trash, convince me otherwise.
Frank is not taking tons of books, but he trusts miss Holloway's recommendations and is almost never disappointed. He's never late. He can't afford that.
Sometimes, when the library is closed, wiley is there, switching the order of the books and turning them so you can't see the binding like a fucking monster.
Maybe she met duke while he looked for psychology books.
Hannah comes to the library every day, she's reading fantasy books in the corner and stays until closing time. Lex was worried about this, she didn't know you didn't have to pay for the library. Miss Holloway notices every lonely kid reading alone. She talks to Hannah. Maybe when Hannah is older she gets a job at the library too.
Credits to the Israeli starkid group for some of the ideas, and to my boss for casually admitting she's a witch.

🦁 I based my drawing of Lambert on (once again) another Milt Kahl drawing. Kahl didn’t animate on the short, but helped refine the final design of Lambert. As Andreas Deja said in a blog post, “I see a foreshadowing of Tigger in the first sheet. Beautiful squash and stretch in his face. Wonderful gutsy drawings”. Bill Peet was the main storyboard artist of the 1952 Disney short, “Lambert the Sheepish Lion”, which is definitely a cute story, beautifully narrated by Sterling Holloway, who also reprised his role as Mr. Stork from “Dumbo”. Animators Eric Larson, John Lounsbery, Judge Whitaker, and Don Lusk were the animators who animated the characters. 🐑🐾

ALICE IN WONDERLAND 1951
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

other details include:
the brigadier asks clara to contact his old friends and the list just keeps on going to the point that clara's like "sorry i physically can't get through all these people". the brigadier hasn't really had contact with the outside world for years so when clara has to relay the news to him that some of his old friends (particularly sarah jane) have died he's upset but not particularly surprised
on the upside liz is happily settled down with her wife, as it turns out, and clara runs into mike yates... at a pride parade, after spending a week trying to hunt him down on a wild goose chase
one of clara's friends is bill (who is kinda sceptical of ghosts but easily convinced), so she visits bristol university from time to time and is unsurprised to find ghosts lurking around every corner. malcolm tucker gets far too attached to her but she'd appreciate if he could PLEASE stop swearing???
he does not stop swearing
clara's also in contact with peri brown (through eleven). peri straight up refuses to believe in ghosts until clara visits san francisco and immediately starts talking to this universe's version of 6 (god knows why he's in san francisco but he quite likes peri apparently)
eleven volunteers to be thrown out of a window so he can see ghosts too. one encourages this; clara declines
one often refers to romana as "young lady", to which she generally replies "for god's sake i'm a century older than you"
eight claims to have met or at least encountered as a ghost a great many historical figures. everyone's pretty sure he's lying about newton (since he wasn't alive then), although to be fair he isn't lying when he says he's met charley pollard... even though she's never met him
fitz is the only one who's not surprised clara can see ghosts because as an 18 y/o he had a near-death encounter. the only person who really showed themself was eight though (the other ghosts were having... disagreements) so their friendship began years before fitz actually died
grace is the only one with any obvious signs of being murdered (covered in blood, rip), although eight is permanently soaking wet from drowning
Okay I think my favorite details out of this have to be One calling Romana young lady because OF COURSE, the whole thing with Fitz and Eight, and once again Grace is making me sad but in that Good Way with the blood (and Eight being constantly wet is hilarious I love to imagine he asks for a towel to be put down for when he sits even though the water is absolutely not going anywhere)
Have you determined what each of them can do in terms of interacting with the physical world??
