Watched the new Bird Box movie! Spoilers under the cut

I liked it, but wow did it leave me with a lot of questions. Way more confusing than the first movie. Still enjoyable tho.

I liked the scene where the main guy was standing in the Church, and the stained glass behind him formed sort of a halo. I thought it was cool symbolism of how he thought he was saving people by forcing them to look at the seraphs, and yet at the end of the movie he saves two people by not making them look at the seraphs.

A part of me wishes he’d stayed brainwashed tho. I just feel like it would’ve been, idk, more enjoyable ig? Like, it was cool seeing from the perspective of one of the seers, but I just think him continuing to worship the seraphs would’ve been a lot cooler.

Speaking of the seraphs, are they really seraphs? He refers to them as “creatures” after he’s un-brainwashed, and so does everyone else, but before that he called them seraphs. I’m assuming they’re some sort of faux-seraphs maybe? Considering he talks a lot about false prophets at the end of the movie.

Overall? Good movie, but very confusing lol. At least it answered the question of “hey what would happen if animals looked at this thing”.

uhh I just finished watching bird box barcelona

some thoughts below (adding a keep reading so people who havent watched it or want to watch it won't get spoiled ;] )

kinda upset that they explained the monsters, but mostly just because I liked it when you just straight up didn't know what it was. I just think its scarier when you cant connect a monster to any roots or compare it to something else

favorite scene was (I think?) halfway through the movie. when the stuff started going down and the monster first revealed itself (it was in one of the flashbacks, I think the first flashback in the movie). that stuff scares me so bad. Like just imagine you're walking down a street or something and all of a sudden everybody else around you either starts running away from something or trying to kill themselves.

but especially that scene with the train. that made me so scared compared to any other part of the movie. just imagine, after you finally make it to the subway station to get away from whatever the hell is going on above you when people start walking onto the tracks and inadvertently pushing you on the tracks with them. just.. the mass suicide scenes. thats my point ig. those are the scenes that scare me the most

good movie overall though :P
