The holy quartet of getting me through BG3 withdrawal
I legit logged into PWoTR and run straight to Daeran because OF COURSE I DID.
Also the fact what you can create the most pathetic mew mew in Expeditions Viking sends me.
Wdym your leader died and the person they decided to put in charge instead of his oldest son is this pathetic mew mew of a person who can be thrown down by a strong gush of wind AND is in sad desperate love with some dude??? What do you mean HE is in charge now? Not to be Asleifr, but I too would challenge him on a duel.

Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game with a very particular description that CATER to my OWN SPECIFIC interests, so here we go.
what to expect from BLACK GEYSER: COURIERS OF DARKNESS
isometric fantasy rpg, different difficulties and in story-mode it is quite short.
you create your own character (two types of elves are available, a new species similar to orcs, then dwarves and humans), male or female, with different classes (spellcasters, summoners etc.).
during the game your choices increase the world's level of greediness, your own generosity, how famous you are etc. Not accepting monetary rewards increase generosity and lower the greed level of the world
the world has new fantasy lore with different gods etc.
you can pause before combat, it is not turn based either
you can recruit companions (9 characters plus a temporary companions), even if you can easily miss some of them as you can streamline the game through the main quest pretty quickly and skip secondary quests
each companion has a small mini quest, some of them have longer quests that have multiple steps (ex. Bjalla and Hamlin)
You will have some choices through the game, based on this choices you will have different outcomes, both at the end and during the game itself
You play as a servant of a lord, who is murdered by his own son... and you find out that you are the lord's child too. At the start you need to reclaim your title, and going forward you explore the curse of greediness that is spreading through the land
I might update this list when I replay it, as you can ally yourself with evil characters and an evil playthrough/greedy playthrough might offer more lore and fun that a goody-two-shoes one
There is romance, which is indipendent from your own chosen gender, even if it is just a couple of lines. As far as I know the options are: Isla (f), Bjalla (f) or Hamlin (m).
plot? You play as the bastard son of a murdered lord and you need to reclaim your title, also ending up mixed with gods fighting for power over the land gameplay? Isometric rpg, dialogues choices and fighting characters? yes, plus your companions, and other side characters sadness level? none

Sending queries for Bao ‘The Bloody’ Zirrik via a very nervous courier.
- Favourite person, and why?
- Has anyone, or anything, ever made you think maybe you were in the wrong line of work? Whether that be an unexpected joy in doing something else, not wanting to end up like someone, or perhaps, witnessing something so awful it liquified even your bowels.
- Is there anything you regret?
Bao leans back in his chair as he looks up from the letter to study the poor courier, his mouth crooking with an amused scoff.
Sentimentality has no place in the world I've carved. ‘Favorites’ can shift like sand in a desert storm. Sure, there’re those who’ve earned a measure of my respect, a few I’ve called friend, but it’s a currency easily devalued by incompetence, by betrayal. The ones at my side today are well familiar with the price. Though sometimes, in the dead of night… I think of my mother. Her laugh, her honeyed tea. I don’t linger on such things long.
There is a flicker in his skewering green eyes, there and gone too fast to name, before he grins. It is cold and dark and mocking.
Wrong line of work? The past is a graveyard of tittyfuckers who’ve doubted and dithered. Now I walk on them as I tend my garden, do my whittling out there too. Every man’s got his pastimes. Always had a knack for shaping things, maybe I missed my calling to be a sculptor, eh? But people are more interesting, and more malleable, than wood. And only fools and the weak can indulge the luxury of doubt, it’s not one you can afford in the chaos of forging an empire, a legacy.
Bao's smile shifts, and he shrugs one beefy shoulder.
Seen plenty. It can be a messy business, violence, and sometimes it's a damn spectacle. One standout was just the other week, some waterbender charged up on this new black market drug. Spiked a guy’s blood pressure so high it turned him into a human geyser, blood spraying out every hole and making new ones like juice bursting from a hot, overripe melon. Terrifying, sure, in an exhilarating kind of way. If anything, it hammered home the point that there’s only two sides to this coin. And if you’re not on one, you’re on the other.
As for regret, every choice has consequences, some foreseen, some not. I underestimated an upstart once. Saw their ambition, their hunger, and mistook it for recklessness. Shame, too, could've used them to my advantage.

Another game I backed on kickstarter just came out of early access to its full launcher.
I think it uses the same game engine as Pillars of Eternity.

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness has officially launched. Developed by GrapeOcean Technologies, the old-school project inspired by the likes of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. Releasing over 20 huge updates, building upon, and greatly improving almost all areas of the game. Which of course includes Linux and Mac support. Black Geyser has made big changes in recent months. From vastly improved loading times, to clearer player tutorials, new zones, enemies, and quest lines. The small dev team ensures they've focused on key player feedback. Being that it’s Halloween and I didn’t dress up today, I’ll write y’all a spooky story. Ok? Ok.
There once was a cottage on the edge of a deep forest. In the cottage lived a mother, a father, two children, and the steadfast family mutt. The father was a guard of some sort and the family was well taken care of by the local royalty. There were things in that deep forest. Things that should never leave there.
During the day, the father would patrol. Carving trees, burning sage, and dropping silver nuggets at the forest’s edge. The rest of the family would prepare meals, tend to the needs of a house, and receive packages from the royal court.
At night, the doors and windows would be bolted tight. If one was very lost and happened upon the cottage, they would be right to assume that the building was unoccupied.
One night, someone did happen upon the cottage. They did assume it to be abandoned. They attempted to open the bolted door. But one of the things that was supposed to be in the deep forest was, in fact, on the cottage’s roof. The thing made the person that was being so loud very quiet.
The thing from the deep forest didn’t hate noise, but it was busy. It needed silence. It needed to find the thing from the open field that kept encroaching. The gangly thing that walked on two twig like appendages. The loathsome creature that burned foul weeds, cast graven symbols on the trees, and laid poisonous rocks in the forest.
The family inside the cottage held each other close. They had heard the commotion. The father, as quiet as falling snow, reached for his gun. A clumsy machine of fire and metal, but he knew it’s tricks. He readied the gun. He let out a slow, long breath; to get the fear and stress out of himself. Then slowly, firmly; he squeezed the trigger.
The silence and darkness that had resumed after the thing from the deep forest had killed the vagabond... broke. A great geyser of burning black powder and lead pellets as numerous as the night sky they flew toward, ripped through the silence and the cottage’s roof.
The thing from the deep forest never had a chance. The pellets found their mark dozens of times over. It tumbled down the roof and landed with a sick, wet, and discouraging sound on top of its earlier victim.
The father, the mother, the children, and even the mutt creeped out to see the carnage. But there was no carnage. No blood. No bodies. No trails to follow. All that was left was the ghost of the man that was slaughtered by the thing from the deep forest. The father burned sage, but the ghost stayed. The father carved symbols on the door frame to the cottage. The ghost, stayed. The mother placed a silver nugget at the ghost’s feet. The ghost didn’t even acknowledge what she had done. Seeing that the ghost did nothing but stand and stare blankly, the family re-secured their cottage and went to bed.
Time passed and the package from the royal court came via the usual courier. But when the courier arrived, there was no house. Only ruins infested by things from the deep forest and the glowing silhouettes of several humans and a dog. The ghosts paid the courier no mind. The things from the deep forest, however; did.
They paid a lot of mind to any human that came near their deep forest. The humans and the things have an understanding now.
Humans stay way from the deep forest. The things stay in the forest. Their ghost victims, they stay where they are. Motionless. Staring at nothing. At night, they glow pale blue; like some deep sea creature’s lure.
Stay away from the deep forest.

Old-school DnD RPG Black Geyser is out now
Old-school DnD RPG Black Geyser is out now
Sure, Elden Ring is tearing up the charts right now, but if you’re more a fan of old-school RPG games like the original Baldur’s Gate, it might not really hold the same adventuring appeal. Fortunately, Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness launched this week, and it’s sure to scratch that Infinity Engine itch old-school cRPG fans developed many years ago. Black Geyser is set in the war-torn world of…

What games are you looking forward to?
It doesn’t have to be games coming out in 2019, it could be one that’s already out that you just haven’t gotten to yet/can’t afford/don’t have the system for etc.
Here are some of mine:
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (waiting for it to get cheap)
Octopath Traveller (don’t own a switch and probably won’t for a decade or so)
The Sinking City (March 2019)
Until Dawn (Waiting for price to go down)
Horizon Zero Dawn (Ditto)
Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness (c. August 2019)
Max Gentlemen Sexy Business (c. February 2019)
Boyfriend Dungeon (c. September 2019)

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (March 22nd 2019)
Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Spring 2019)
Indivisible (IF it comes out this year)
Psychonauts 2 (Hopefully it won’t make me damage my hand like the meat circus did)
Biomutant (I want to be a kitty)
Ooblets (Cute!)
In The Valley of Gods (Egyptian setting and a black protagonist with natural hair yes please please)
A Plague Tale: Innocence (I get itchy thinking about all those rats but it looks awesome)
Knights and Bikes (It’s set in Cornwall and that is an awesome place with interesting culture a lot of people don’t know about)
