ATTENTION ANIME FANS WITH CRUNCHYROLL ACCOUNTS!
BOYCOTT CRUNCHYROLL! CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION!(Crunchyroll is now owned by Sony btw)
Crunchyroll has been SEVERELY underpaying their voice actors and translators! Actors on twitter are claiming to be payed anywhere from 35$ to 150$ on an ENTIRE SHOW! Crunchyroll is refusing to cooperate with any unions or even communicate with them!
An example of the shit that’s going down right now:
Popular dub voice actor for the character Mob in Mob Psycho 100, Kyle McCarley is being cut from the final season because Crunchyroll refuses to meet his VERY GENEROUS union conditions. Which was just to have a conversation with his union representatives. Listen here.

Spread the word! Being active on social media about this issue and using tags like #JustaMeeting make a difference. If or when you cancel your subscription, tell them exactly why! They are already getting a lot of shit on social media and are limiting comments in some places, keep it coming!
I know it is difficult to boycott a company that has monopolized the anime industry to such an extreme but it has to happen sooner rather than later. That is because unless consumers fight back, things will only get worse for creators. We are near the start of an incredibly packed and anticipated fall anime season, which makes this boycott even harder, but that is all the more reason to do it now, to hit the corporate streaming service where it hurts! Pirate that shit!
If I have spread any false information or you would like to add to the conversation feel free to add on!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
p.s if anyone knows any anime pirate sites that upload episodes the day of release please please please dm me <3

Hi- er, this is my first-ever writer's strike, how does one not cross a picket line in this context? I know how not to do it with things like Amazon and IRL strikes, but how does it apply to media/streaming?
Hi, this is a great question, because it allows me to write about the difference between honoring a picket line and a boycott. (This is reminding me of the labor history podcast project that's lain fallow in my drafts folder for some time now...) In its simplest formulation, the difference between a picket line and a boycott is that a picket line targets an employer at the point of production (which involves us as workers), whereas a boycott targets an employer at the point of consumption (which involves us as consumers).
So in the case of the WGA strike, this means that at any company that is being struck by the WGA - I've seen Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Disney, Warner Brothers Discovery, NBC, Paramount, and Sony mentioned, but there may be more (check the WGA website and social media for a comprehensive list) - you do not cross a picket line, whether physical or virtual. This means you do not take a meeting with them, even if its a pre-existing project, you do not take phone calls or texts or emails or Slacks from their executives, you do not pitch them on a spec script you've written, and most of all you do not answer any job application.
Because if this strike is like any strike since the dawn of time, you will see the employers put out ads for short-term contracts that will be very lucrative, generally above union scale - because what they're paying for in addition to your labor is you breaking the picket line and damaging the strike - to anyone willing to scab against their fellow workers. GIven that one of the main issues of the WGA are the proliferation of short-term "mini rooms" whereby employers are hiring teams of writers to work overtime for a very short period, to the point where they can only really do the basics (a series outline, some "broken stories," and some scripts) and then have the showrunner redo everything on their lonesome, while not paying writers long-term pay and benefits, I would imagine we're going to see a lot of scab contracts being offered for these mini rooms.
But for most of us, unless we're actively working as writers in Hollywood, most of that isn't going to be particularly relevant to our day-to-day working lives. If you're not a professional or aspiring Hollywood writer, the important thing to remember honoring the picket line doesn't mean the same thing as a boycott. WGA West hasn't called on anyone to stop going to the movies or watching tv/streaming or to cancel their streaming subscriptions or anything like that. If and when that happens, WGA will go to some lengths to publicize that ask - and you should absolutely honor it if you can - so there will be little in the way of ambiguity as to what's going on.
That being said, one of the things that has happened in the past in other strikes is that well-intentioned people get it into their heads to essentially declare wildcat (i.e, unofficial and unsanctioned) boycotts. This kind of stuff comes from a good place, someone wanting to do more to support the cause and wanting to avoid morally contaminating themselves by associating with a struck company, but it can have negative effects on the workers and their unions. Wildcat boycotts can harm workers by reducing back-end pay and benefits they get from shows if that stuff is tied to the show's performance, and wildcat boycotts can hurt unions by damaging negotiations with employers that may or may not be going on.
The important thing to remember with all of this is that the strike is about them, not us. Part of being a good ally is remembering to let the workers' voices be heard first and prioritizing being a good listener and following their lead, rather than prioritizing our feelings.

The topic of Palworld is pretty charged, but often times I see people be shamed for liking it because the CEO tweeted stuff about NFTs and the company using AI art in a separate game. Acting as if that's the most damning thing ever for a gaming company in an industry filled with similar people.
Make no mistake, I dislike both AI art and nfts, but do you realize how many gaming companies have involvement with that?
To begin with, Pokémon used AI art in a promotional piece for Pokémon Go in September, and nobody gave a shit because uwu Pikachu. The Pokémon Company also put a job listing some months back seeking an expert in NFTs. That's not quite damning evidence, but if I were a betting man, no "NFT expert" will willingly say "yeah nfts suck are bad for the environment, man, I'll take my paycheck and fuck off now." There's also a strong argument to be made that Pokémon has stolen ideas from fakemon artists (Finizen and Palafin, Scovillain, Dipplin, etc) and other franchises (kaiju movies, Dragon Quest, Megaman, final fantasy, western cartoons and food mascots, etc), a dubious legal statement that claims they own all fan art from the remixes and fakemon made on youtube to the pikachu your kid drew at breakfast; they have yet to apologize for the state of Scarlet and Violet while charging full price to millions of paying customers for a clearly unfinished and barely functioning game (which i did enjoy, but you can't tell me it was finished baking when it struggles not to shit itself just to run), and a bunch of other things people shit on Palworld for, but A. It's Pokémon so people don't care and think it's fine, and B. That's not the point of this post.
You know who else does NFTs and AI art? (Yes I heard Muscle Man from Regular Show in my head just now, too, moving along)
Square Enix sold several of their IPs for NFTs and claims to have used AI art "a minimum amount" in Foam Stars, yet I see nobody yelling for boycotts of Final Fantasy 14, 16, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, Life is Strange, etc etc etc.
Sony has invested in both, they want to implement AI into gaming, and has a patent for nfts to be used in games and consoles, yet there's no movement to throw out your playstations.
Bandai Namco- you know, that company with a hand in pretty much most anime games on the market and popular games such as the Dark Souls games? They have a game called RYU that's essentially a virtual pet game that uses the blockchain, and its AI driven, among other projects. Yet there's no outcry to stop playing the many, MANY games they brand with. This also includes quite a few Nintendo games (btw they just partnered together to form a special studio quite recently) like Smash Wii U/3ds and New Pokémon Snap. Nobody gives a shit though.
Android, Microsoft, Google, Apple- I don't even need to explain those, they have whole teams dedicated to both. Even popular VPN companies accept crypto.
I'm just saying an awful lot of you guys that scream and shit bloody murder about Palworld's company being involved with that shit are either the biggest "It's okay when my favs do it" type of hypocrites, or you're sorely ignorant to just how evil and greedy most corporations are. You'll be hard pressed to find a game company with popular AND fun games that DOESN'T have some interest in either, let alone movie and show studios. That's the awful reality we live in.
You have 2 options
1. You basically stop doing anything involving most modern tech, including throwing out your pc and smart phone. You could probably live a comfortable life with tech circa 2010, but you have to be aware that any thing you buy may go towards a cause you don't like.
2. You accept that people can enjoy a product while not necessarily agreeing with the CEO of said product. Most CEOs tend to be jackasses anyway, that's kind of the shared trait they all have. You can also discourage companies from using them while understanding it is everywhere.
Palworld at the end of the day is just a toy, that's it. From the looks of it, it's not even actually hurting anyone, and it seems like the company at least treats their employees pretty decently- at least according to a few things I've seen here and there that seems rather progressive for a Japanese studio (with room for doubt obviously, it's a company after all and as we've established, they're all evil). At the least its not like when people supported Hogwarts Legacy and directly put money into JKR's wallet so she can openly hurt more Trans women. In fact, the only people seemingly hurt in all of this Palworld drama are obsessed Pokémon stans that can't accept a parody, or the Pokémon Company themselves, who rightly deserve some punching up tbh.
You can just say you dislike the game, that's fine, I totally get that. Even though I personally think The Pokémon Company deserves a few nut shots after the way they've treated fans these last few years with the state of their games (and you know, stealing ideas from fans without credit), I can see why someone would be turned away from a parody that's literally meant to be Pokémon with guns. I can totally understand all of that, personally I'd prefer if the game was MORE like Pokémon with turn based combat.
But if you're going to defend Pokémon because you think its perfectly innocent because of Wooloo or something like that, just be sure you're aware you're defending the World's Richest Franchise and their own attempts at AI and NFTs while calling out an indie company (a real one thats learning as they go, not the fake "We're totally indie" franchise that hasn't been indie since gen 3) for having a ceo that also seems interested in the same stuff. And remember, you don't become number 1 without hurting people somehow (we could dig up receipts about certain partners Pokémon has teamed up with, such as Tencent with Unite, but I'd rather not right now.)
Just saying. I don't think you're an irredeemable person for still liking Pikachu, cuz I do too believe it or not. I've been a life long fan and still have fun with the games despite the clear scummy business practices towards their paying customers. Just maybe extend that courtesy to the millions of players just trying to have fun in this awful, putrid, shithole planet that just keeps getting worse and worse with each passing day.
Plus... you know, think about it. Do you think Pokémon would ever get around to making a gunless Palworld? Probably not. Do you think Palworld would exist if The Pokémon Company and Nintendo were the slightest bit chill about Pokémon fan projects like SEGA is with Sonic? Also probably not. From what I've read, the devs just wanted to make a fun game that happens to mostly be ARK with Pokémon adjacent monsters. That's not really a bad thing, all things considered, and it seems like the worst they've done is reference official Pokémon when making their own models.
Palworld being successful is actually beneficial to Pokémon fans, as well. It'll never really truly compete, but it has outsold Legends Arceus in terms of units sold (not as much financially because Palworld was only $30 plus a sale recently, but still impressive), and it is enough that Game Freak is aware of its existence. Let Palworld light a fire under their ass, and maybe GF will actually finish their next game before releasing it for full price (and no, we're not bringing up the tired imaginary ball and chain game devs, game freak owns 1/3rd lf the franchise and can easily take methods to get more dev time, they just haven't because money). Just saying, at least the Paldevs were honest enough to sell it in early access for half the price.

In regards to being asked about the black company, Nijisanji, their allegations to having ties to Israeli money, and #SinkTheYacht
I'm disappointed in
seeing folks punish all Niji EN livers by collectively unsubbing when "sinking the yacht" would be more effective by reaching out to AnyColor Inc shareholders and partners about Nijisanji's admission of management & livers bullying and listing all the public facts surrounding why Selen was fired. The summary of facts are that Nijisanji has bullies in their team, has done nothing to remove said bullies, and they chose a sudden termination to hide the fact they let a liver attempt suicide from said bullies and didn't inform the public about it.
So I understand why people are unsubbing as a whole- why many creators, artists, and third parties have made it public they will no longer make, support, or sponsor Nijisanji.
But priority 1 is not mass unsubbing- that's what Nijisanji wants. They are made up of known bullies and they are now manipulating the public into being bullies. Instead of spreading the word to mass unsub- I encourage everyone stop spending money on official merch, do not collab with any AnyColor Inc management, and not buy stocks connected directly to all AnyColor Inc nor their shareholders.
But why am I discussing this?
Why should non-vtuber fans care?
What I'm about to discuss now is an ongoing allegation that makes all the know facts even worse. If you support Palestine, you especially need to know about this ongoing allegation:
On Feb 5, ITOCHU Corp announced they would end their contract with an Israeli Defense Firm that they started March 2023- around the same time Nijisanji EN would annouced the termination without informing Selen (now Doki) that she was terminated. ITOCHU is a known shareholder of AnyColor Inc and does has the power to ask for public distractions. They are a monster firm among Japanese companies.
I cannot endorse #SinkTheYacht knowing Nijisanji livers are some of the worst collectively and consistently paid company VTubers in the industry, but if folks want to boycott AnyColor Inc's ceo, owners, shareholders, and management for their associations and ties to indirectly causing an ongoing genocide- then I support you. Sony Group Corp Japan, Bilibili Inc, & FreakOut Holdings Inc are a few shareholders that you can file public complaints towards about AnyColor's behavior and be wary of when choosing vtubers, streamers, youtubers, etc to support. But again ITOCHU and AnyColor's relationship is an allegation and speculation.
In my opinion
From an outsider perspective I believe an investigation into Nijisanji as a whole should've happened last year when so many people left or appeared to have left from management based pressure.
But as someone who holds many of the remaining livers with respect (and is a Kyomie) if indeed Nijisanji EN is telling the truth about livers and management bullying + doing nothing to stop it, then yes- every person responsible for ongoing bullying of at least 3 years should be terminated and black listed from the vtubing industry.
That all being said (if my gut is right) and none/the majority of the EN livers are not bullies then I also believe all currently contracted EN livers should be allowed to press charges aganist Nijisanji EN & AnyColor Inc for
1. Public defamation on an international scale due to the termination wording
2. Cuts to their already weird pay caused by the company's annoucements on Feb 5 & 6 2024
3. All documented mismanagement and bullying they've reported since being employed that led to emotional, physical, and financial losses
4. Losses to old and new merch sales the same week of Feb 5, 2024
The wording of the termination of Selen Tatsuki should be headed as a warning to an ongoing and well publicly documented management issues with AnyColor Inc and all their branches. If you're a vtuber who has or is planning to join Nijisanji EN- please get an attorney or lawyer if you choose to audition or are currently work for AnyColor Inc who's familiar with your nation's laws and Japan's laws. And remember to everyone, it takes hard work but being indie is possible- you don't need a company.
Thank you for reading this whole post and all fans please make the decisions and adjustments accordingly in regards to not #Sink TheYacht in such a fucking stupid fashion- don't be like the bullies who are managing your favorites. And god speed to all the EN Livers at KuroColor Inc who may end up seeing this on your private accounts- please know your fans will support you no matter what decisions you make but they hate your company and management for treating you like shit behind closed doors and out in the public. And if any of you do listen to my advice and find a legal expert to help you out, don't tell your management nor coworkers/friends/family, doubly if you don't have a copy of your most recent contract renewal/contract. Alright? Snakes can pass for tall grass, you need to be prepared to get bitten by the most unsuspecting blades when navigating your rights as a contracted streamer, entertainer, and employee.

With the new Across the Spiderverse trailer that just came out and the discussions that the epilepsy community has been trying to have for years about the dangers presented by Into the Spiderverse, I want to put a challenge out there for Spiderverse fans, which is to speak out against the use of strobes in the Spiderverse movies. I’m not calling for a boycott here or anything, but I do want to see people trying to get Sony to feel that putting out a movie that literally endangers people’s lives will get them criticized instead of just praised. Let them know that you think the movie would be better if you could watch it with people who are currently excluded from the audience.
And I know that I’m going to get people on this post saying that Spiderverse is fine the way it is and that I’m being too sensitive just because I can’t see it, because I always get those kinds of comments on posts that are critical of flashing lights, especially in Spiderverse. But I feel that this is incredibly important, because Spiderverse has proved to Sony and other movie studios that they can put out movies with dangerous amounts of flashing lights and get nothing but praise so far. And this is contributing to a culture where photosensitive people and finding it harder and harder to find any media that is safe for them to watch.
Sony is a large company, someone along the line most likely knew that Spiderverse was dangerous before it was released, and I’d be even more surprised if someone at Sony didn’t know now how dangerous it was, but they haven’t made any adjustments. They’re not going to listen to the concerns of those of us who can’t see the movie because they’ve already made it clear they don’t consider us part of the “anyone can wear the mask” message. But they might listen to disapproval from the fans, even without an immediate threat of profit loss.
Just please consider speaking up about this incredibly important issue.

targeted boycotts are as we know the most efficient and this isn’t me calling for a boycott, but to keep people informed below the cut are lists of kpop artists with affiliations to labels mentioned on zionistsinmusic on twitter

ATLANTIC (owned by warner) - got7, iu, kep1er, loossemble, p1harmony, sf9
as always if any of this information is incorrect or outdated, please feel free to correct me in a reblog or an ask and i'll update the information in this post. i'll try to keep up with any new companies that are brought up on the twitter account mentioned at the beginning of this post. i'm not here to call for a boycott of every artist mentioned here because i don't feel i am in the position to do so, but i'm not discouraging you from choosing to do so. in fact i encourage you to listen to these artists unofficially at the very least.
i'm not sure the extent to which these companies get revenue from these artists, i don't know if it's just streams or if other things like merch sales and youtube views contribute but quite a few of these artists' companies are being boycotted currently or in the near future anyway, so i would suggest you not buy any merch or watch youtube videos officially from them. this post has more info on downloading music, youtube videos (with subtitles), and the boycotts i mentioned so i hope you all will check that out too. tris @bandzboy has also been posting about and sharing twitter posts about zionism in music, especially in the kpop industry so i suggest you check out her blog as well

Do you think Sony/Rolling Stones are sabotaging Louis with that nomination for live act award? Because his band sings more than he does and he is constantly off key and off pitch? RS obviously is sabotaging Louis once again to provoke people to make fun of Louis' not so good live performances, don't you agree?
Dear zot3,
I have been lucky enough to see Louis live x2 and he is amazing, but you already know that because you follow every single concert of him and you have problaby seen more Instagram lives than me 😏
It's really good to have this nomination and see more and more press writing very positive reviews of his shows and him as a real artist (very different from those kardashian clowns that are up there because of favours and money)... He has worked hard for this and it shows when he is on stage almost every night on a massive tour with so many dates all around the world (for real) that many big artists would never do because it is really exhauting... And yet, Louis tops every single show and leave fans with that sensation of having witnessed a wonderful and special show, full of true passion for music with an artist with charisma, presence and a lot of talent and that doesn't happens very often these days...
Hence, the nomination 😎
I know it is really hard to digest for people like you being fans of a dude that had to literally expend millions and millions to boycott every single one of his band 'mates' to get attention and praise for his so-so albums but, I guess none of you expected to have a person as resilient as Louis in front of you and the bitterness shows...

Have a nice day, go and touch grass and eat more fiber in the morning 😉

Reminder that BDS is still calling for a boycott on all Marvel products unless they remove Sabra from the upcoming Captain America movie, and the Madame Web movie is included in that even though it's made by Sony. Sony's liscensing and marketing agreement does mean that a portion of the profit goes to Marvel and Disney. Don't see Madame Web, don't see Deadpool 3, don't support Marvel in any capacity for the time being

under my first wga/sag-aftra strike post, i had a frustrating interaction that makes me want to reiterate what the unions want from non-union supporters.
during the wga/sag-aftra strike, you should:
donate to the plethora of fundraisers set up to support writers, actors, and other crew members and businesses affected by the strike.
SHARE SHARE SHARE! post about the strike. outwardly and vocally support the strike.
support other unions in the entertainment industry trying to unionize! many of them are trying, such as the animators at disney! show them support too!
follow strike rules that are easily accessible online. what does following strike rules mean? it means not doing the work that the union writers and actors are currently not doing because of the strike. that would be scabbing, and scabbing makes you a dick.
participate at a local wga/sag-aftra event or picket.
contact employers— disney, amazon, netflix, apple, discovery-warner, nbc universal, sony, paramount, etc— and urge them to give the writers and actors a fair deal.
get more information at sagaftrastrike.org and wgacontract2023.org. ways to help and donate are on both websites!
‼️to reiterate: do not boycott. neither the wga or sag-aftra are calling for a boycott of streaming services. right now, boycotting services against the unions wishes is not helping anyone. it is counterproductive.‼️

WB’s Coyote Vs. Acme fiasco attracts congressional attention
"After last week’s public relations fiasco, during which Warner Bros. Discovery alienated filmmakers, film fans, and industry leaders with its anti-art decision to shelve its completed Looney Tunes movie Coyote Vs. Acme, the company reversed the course. The concession: WBD would allow the filmmakers to shop the movie around, giving another studio the opportunity to release a film featuring one of WB’s most beloved and seminal characters. It’s like if Disney allowed Netflix to do a Mickey Mouse movie, or a studio removed the words “HBO” from a streaming service, or a social media company changed the name Twitter to “X.”
The fallout from Warner’s hunt for some sweet tax write-off money isn’t over yet because Texas Representative Joaquín Castro is asking the Justice Department and the FTC to look into the matter, comparing WBD’s “tactic” to “burning down a building for the insurance money.
“The WBD tactic of scrapping fully made films for tax breaks is predatory and anti-competitive,” Castro tweeted. “As the Justice Department and @FTC revise their antitrust guidelines, they should review this conduct. As someone remarked, it’s like burning down a building for the insurance money.”
Per The Hollywood Reporter, this isn’t the first time Castro has gone after WBD with what he calls “anticompetitive practices.” In an April 7th letter signed by Castor and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, which was a follow-up to a 2021 letter of the initial merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, the two senators accused WBD of “hollowing out an iconic American studio” by canceling Batgirl, Scoob! Holiday Haunt, and the HBO series Whistleblower, which WB purchased following an intense bidding war and canceled after the merger.
“The damage to content creators whose projects are canceled in deep development and post-production cannot be overstated,” he wrote. “Such cancellations stain these projects, making them less appealing and marketable to other buyers — consumers will likely never be able to watch shows purchased then canceled by WBD. WBD’s conduct amounts to a de facto ‘catch and kill’ practice, vastly limiting consumer choice.”
The difference between Coyote and the other canceled projects is Coyote is done, in the can, and people have seen and praised it. In the days since the cancelation, members of the film community have begun championing the movie as well as reportedly canceled meetings with Warner Bros. Discovery. Meanwhile, despite its attempts to blow out the lit fuse, Warner Bros. Discovery’s face is covered in ash, making for a grotesquely humorous punchline to a deeply depressing situation."
Zaslav is counting on bringing back merchandise juggernaut, Harry Potter. In the meantime, WBD fired most of it's diverse staff, gutted the Art departments, ruined CNN. People don't even admire Anderson Cooper, anymore. It's pretty clear, Zaslav and peers are anti-art. They put Honey Boo, on TLC. Anyone else feel like supporting product from Warner Bros Discovery? Jason Momoa supported Amber Heard and her role in Aquaman, even after petitions were sent, asking for her removal. Also...Momoa would never have gone after Oprah and the Rock unless he had been ordered to. Whether they were being shifty in that instance or not, the Hawaiian people will never know.

Remember that time when Louis broke his arm and Larries made weird shit as if he did it on purpose. He had to have surgery but he still didn’t cancel the signings he did for fans. He did it even though his arm was sore and stiff.
He was nice to everyone. He had a kind word for everyone who came. He went from city to city too. The Larries still don’t appreciate Louis’ work ethic. They compare him to Harry who would rather hangout with a bunch of celebrities and have press releases for how kind he is for sending the famous people flowers.
Not one UK radio DJ spoke about how Louis still does these things for fans which he doesn’t have to, things like meeting fans for free outside his venues. If Harry did anything like that Rolling Stones would be writing articles about how Harry is setting standards for how to treat fans. There is no nicer celebrity than Harry. He should get a gold star.
That is basically the difference between when image is built for you without doing anything versus when you are actually doing a lot of stuff but the industry won’t ever acknowledge you.
I think there are Larries who have a double standard for Harry and Louis because they have a deepseated belief that Harry deserves everything good, but somehow Louis must earn anything good.
Hence Larries tend to doubt Louis’ words, accuse him of lying, assume he’s lazy, believe Niall and Liam when they say that Louis was lying around drinking and smoking during the pandemic. He must have been hiding in Jeff Azoff’s house with Harry eh? Remember the dog barking in Harry’s interview, that they all joked was Clifford? Because of course Louis would charter a plane in a pandemic to bring a dog across the continent for Harry.
(In actuality, Harry was busy getting papped with Rande Gerber and Kendall Jenner in LA, driving in France and Italy visiting restaurants. He recorded Harry’s House. Sony blitzed his songs on streaming and radio platforms to get him numbers, awards. Louis was writing Faith In The Future— and released at least 21 songs for the second album. He was organizing Live From London, setting up AFHF 2021, and filming All Of Those Voices. He set a world record. Louis’ first concert after the pandemic was a FREE event for 8k fans, something that none of the other 1D guys have ever matched. So much for laziness.)
Then I think there are Larries who know that the double standards come from industry bullshit, but they brainwash their followers anyway.
These are the Larries who say, “When I see Louis doing something bad, I’m going to call it out,” but what they mean is when Louis talks about Freddie or when he calls out Larries’ atrocious behavior. They’re not fans of Louis’ music, lifestyle, friends, family, fashion, achievements, mannerisms, speech. They don’t go to his concerts and they frequently call for boycotts. They don’t listen to his music. They haven’t watched AOTV, and criticize the bits they’ve seen. They also don’t have any real criticism for Harry Styles. They parrot industry critics’ harsh words about Louis.
But they recommend a lot of Larry fanfiction. They do read a lot of fanfic.

remember when everyone was pissed off about the State of the Game a few weeks ago? People were calling for boycott this and stop buying Silver that and generally being SUPER unpleasant to be around
I'm not saying correlation is causality.
but I am more willing to blame a bunch of YTers telling everyone Destiny 2 is a scam and you shouldn't buy things from Bungie and their 'fanbase' believing that and doing that thus resulting in lower profits and making Sony go 'hey fire these people they're too expensive' more than Bungie suddenly losing their minds and laying off important members of their company. Preorders for Final Shape are lower than expected because people FLIPPED the fuck out about Lightfall not being the exact expansion they wanted and legit I had a video every day in my YT feed telling me how fucking shit Destiny 2 was for 2 weeks after Lightfall and State of the Game.
Also I'll take any excuse to shit on Aztecross for being one of the most toxic Destiny YTers in the biz. No one does toxic man child quite like aztecross. I also don't believe a word out of Tassi's mouth. Not like he's never written absolute bait/hate read articles before.
All I'm saying is you play stupid games you get stupid prizes. And some of y'all drinking the koolaid and playing stupid games.

Israeli air strike in Gaza kills prominent scientist Sufyan Tayeh, Palestinian ministry says

Tumblr media
Dec 2 An Israeli air strike targeting the neighborhood of Al-Faluja, 30 km (18 miles) northeast of Gaza City, has killed prominent Palestinian scientist Sufyan Tayeh and his family, the Palestinian Higher Education ministry announced on Saturday. Tayeh, who was president of the Islamic University of Gaza, was a leading researcher in physics and applied mathematics.
In 2005, he was arrested by Israeli occupation forces at the Rafah border crossing while he was heading to Egypt to complete the procedures for submitting his PhD dissertation at Ain Shams University. Over the period from 2008 to 2011, he assumed the position of Head of Physics Department at the Islamic University and he was appointed President of the University in August 2023.
Academic activity One of Dr. Tayeh’s research works was a proposal for scientific research in the field of optical sensors submitted to the University of Montreal, Canada. With the participation of Professor Ahmed Hamdan, Dr. Tayeh presented a research study entitled “Sensitivity enhancement in optical waveguide sensors”. The research paper aimed to explore multi-layer waveguide structures (more than 3 layers) for the purpose of optical biosensing, and to study the effect of anisotropic materials on the sensitivity of plate waveguide structures, in addition to studying more photonic crystals (two- and three-layer) with different compositions as well as the number of biosensing various layers.
Awards and honors Dr. Tayeh was winner of the Palestine Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research for years 2019 and 2020. In March 2023, he was appointed holder of the UNESCO Chair for Physical, Astrophysical and Space Sciences in Palestine. He was recipient of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Scientists; and the winner of the Islamic University Award for Scientific Research for the year 2021. He was also ranked among the top 2% of researchers around the world in 2021. source
More than 1300 scientists from 40 countries, including physicists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, medical doctors, engineers, and social scientists, working in academia and in industry, are compelled by the events in Gaza to call for an immediate permanent ceasefire and take a stand against war and the destructive use of science in an “International Convention Against War and Destructive Use of Science: Scientists Against Israeli Apartheid and Genocide in Gaza” on 9th December 2023. Prof. Richard A Falk, Emeritus Professor of International Law at Princeton University and Former UN Special Rapporteur for Palestine, was the keynote speaker in the Convention. He spoke ‘On the situation in Gaza.’ The Convention was moderated by Dr. Manabendra Nath Bera, a quantum information scientist from India. Dr. Flavio del Santo, a scientist from Switzerland, Dr. Niatalya Dinat, a medical doctor from South Africa, Prof. Josh Dubnau, from Sony Brook University, USA, and Prof. Assaf Kfoury, Boston University, USA, discussed possible amendments proposed by participants on the draft of the Declaration by the scientists. In the end, the amended Declaration was adopted after voting, with an absolute majority (97%).
The adopted Declaration embodies scientists’ protest against the destructive use and militarisation of science, Israeli occupation, apartheid, and genocide in Gaza, and call for an academic and scientific boycott and to stand by the Palestinian professors, scientists, researchers, scholars, and students.

Have been thinking about Louis career and said boycott for a while and it's such a complex topic! Fans say he's snubbed in awards but had to sell more in order to be eligible, his labels/companies barely promote him. He wins fan voted polls easily but simply isn't on radio or big playlists. When promoted seems mandatory mention a personal life aspect or 1D. Sell out shows but few festivals call him. He acts like doesn't care but gets so happy with recognition. Do you have an opinion on all this?
I don’t really have an opinion other than to agree that it’s super complex. I think Sony is a very powerful label and their influence on radio stations, festivals etc. probably extends quite far. Louis is no longer signed to them, but that doesn’t mean the possible grudge they hold against him has changed.
I don’t anyone believes he doesn’t care about commercial success. But I think he’s realistic and knows better than we do what he’s up against. I think that requires him to adjust his expectations, but that doesn’t mean he’s not always going to shoot for the top.
