Hello! The Palestinian Relief Bundle looks super cool and I'm delighted to see it up :) That said, is there any direct confirmation through PCRF that this is going through them? Or some other confirmation of legitimacy (maybe through itch.io itself)? I'm sure this is legitimate (can't imagine that many game devs contributing otherwise), but I'd like to boost this in a large server, so I want to be able to answer any questions about it.
Thanks for putting this together. By the looks of it, y'all are already making a big difference, which is awesome.
Sure. Evidence under read more (long post).
The PCRF has an account on itch.io: https://pcrf.itch.io/ When creating a bundle on itch, you can configure how the revenue is split. Here's a screenshot of the bundle's settings on my side where the PCRF's itch.io account is set to 100%.
Tumblr media
About direct confirmation: I have been talking back and forth with itch.io's support and a contact from the PCRF via an email chain to setup the bundle, though I don't think I can share that as it may disclose the name / personal details of my contact.
Hope that helps - let me know if you have any more questions.

The currently-available outside-of-North-America international edition of So You Want To Be A Wizard will be joined by the other nine main sequence Young Wizards novels over the course of this year. Where was Billy living before Bruce got him a place in the Billy adopting Connor au?
Lbr, the kid was straight-up homeless and just sleeping at the Rock of Eternity whenever it was too cold to sleep on the streets.
Did it ever occur to Billy that the Justice League would help him with that problem? No, because it's not a problem! He's fine and doesn't NEED help. He's totally good! He's been doing this for years!
Now, does SUPERBOY need a roof over his head and his own space and a responsible guardian and a family . . . ? Of course he does, he's a BABY! What kind of question is THAT?
Billy, as the obvious just flies RIGHT over his head:

Like I said once, being a Zelda fan is like microdosing on being a superhero comics fan:
Franchise exists for far too long and is way too financially successful for its own good;
"Modern mythology";
Countless arguments about lore/timeline™/canonicity that is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things and are relevant to a very small percentage of fans;
new director bad;
...And now, yes,
✨🔥The Cinematic Universe🔥✨.

back on my wolfwood bullshit! i'm using a lot of the same ideas from my other post so i'll try not to repeat myself, but as i said, a major theme of wolfwood's arc is autonomy and freedom, and the idea that having freedom to choose also comes with the responsibility to act and make good choices.
throughout trimax, wolfwood is in a strange position. he's beholden to higher powers - the eye of michael, knives, even vash in a way, while also simultaneously having a lot of freedom to act, particularly in the moment. the things that control him are more like swords of damocles - present, inevitable, but not immediate. he's constantly struggling to figure out what he should do - take knives out, kill vash, and more generally, things like his profession as assassin. he's very torn about the choices he makes (or doesn't make) and the life he lives because he's dissatisfied with his position, and there isn't an easy way out.
there are a lot of parallels between midvalley and wolfwood. midvalley, similar to wolfwood, was forced into a place he really didn't want to be in. he's hyperaware of the danger of his situation, knows he's expendable to knives, and that knives has so much power - how can anyone escape it? so he has to ask himself - how is he going to spend the time that he has? should he risk his life or play it safe? we know what he decides - he's likely to die either way, so he might as well try to get his way, release himself from knives' control.
Tumblr media
midvalley pretty easily identifies wolfwood as someone who is allied with vash, who has no true loyalty to knives. he says they have no reason to fight - midvalley and hoppered have officially moved against knives and made their choice. is wolfwood going to resolve himself, follow what he truly believes - in vash, against knives? or will he keep playing the game of someone who doesn't have their mind made up, still working under knives thumb? (midvalley has always called wolfwood chapel, right up until this moment - he's breaking through the pretenses, acknowledging that he knows what wolfwood really is).
Tumblr media
(using the overhaul translation here bc it's much clearer!) midvalley basically says that wolfwood does have power, but at that point in the story, he's mostly just going along with what's safe, as opposed to midvalley and hoppered. midvalley is aware that wolfwood might have similar goals to him. as someone who, like wolfwood, fears knives and what he can do, midvalley criticizes wolfwood's passivity or inability to fight for what he wants.
still, we see that when midvalley does act against knives he dies. immediately. both him and hoppered made their choice, and it didn't end well for them. maybe they knew it'd be that way. still, it's a poignant reminder to wolfwood about the power of choice, and the risks that come with it. he has to confront what other people are willing to risk and ask himself if he can do the same.
then we get to volume 8. wolfwood, who spends so much of the story agonizing over his choices, is finally resolved. he goes against knives and frees vash. he chooses not to kill unless absolutely necessary. his autonomy is realized at the price of his life. and that's the equation he has to figure - save myself, and damn everyone i care about? be dissatisfied with myself, my life? or save what he loves, do what he wants, and risk himself? wolfwood is keenly aware of his own morality. he has so much he wants to protect, and he can't do that if he's dead. i think one of the reasons he's able to take a stand against knives is because of his relationship with vash - he knows that there's someone with similar goals and values who will fight to protect humanity after he's gone. he goes out having taken care of chapel and livio, and trusting that vash will handle knives. he can die peacefully knowing he's assured the safety of his family.
by volume 10, wolfwood is showing everyone who he is and what he stands for, for better or worse. he was willing to fight - and willing to die - to do what he believed was right. trimax shows, again, and again, that there's often no easy answer, no easy way to live, no easy choice to make. that's sort of the idea that's communicated with the bird imagery - a life of freedom is a life of struggle. it's not a new idea, ofc. but we see with wolfwood - the right thing and the safe thing are often not the same. what are we willing to do? how far will we go? what will we sacrifice? and what will leave us most satisfied at the end?

I'd just like to mention my headcanon that, at least in the Meta Knightmare AU, Garlude and Sirica Fuzzen are so fuzzy and naturally warm, that even in freezing environments they only need to bundle up in a thin jacket at most. Also just thinking up that among Garlude's family and species (like I'll ever be in the mood to dig deep into them weirdly enough), their fur is considered a symbol of pride and they've historically never cut it no matter how quickly or slowly it would grow. (I mean, their family name is literally "Fuzzen"!)
It's also funny imagining that whenever Sirica and Susie are in a freezing environment, Sirica, again, doesn't need anything more than, say, a thin fall sports jacket while Susie, despite literally spending her first seven years of life living on freaking Shiver Star, might be so naturally weak in the cold that she needs the thickest coat in the Halberd (even more than Mikey, a literal part-microphone that wouldn't work in the cold). Of course nowhere near as bundled up as Anais down here, but the fact that I even have to bring that up is telling. (Of course she loved playing out in it as a kid though and misses it, because I can't forget to throw in some angst even if she could just replicate the playing part at, idk, Waffle Wafers or something.)

ofmd moment we don’t talk about enough:
When Ed first gets back to the Revenge sans Stede, and the whole crew turns to gawk at him. His beard is gone and he’s just so… exposed, at a very raw moment. He doesn’t have or his leathers or Stede to hide behind, so he just kinda awkwardly ducks his head.
Poor thing.

I double-checked Lisa's story this morning because I've been thinking about Diona calling Kaeya "Guard Captain" in the TCG intro quest, and it confirmed that he loans her Huffman and Swan to restock and distribute medication. My previous theory was that Huffman was his subordinate in the Quartermaster's office, but he does patrol the city, and Swan is definitely one of the guards on the gate... guys, I think Kaeya is holding three positions right now, not two

Tumblr media
3. Slasher U is a horror-comedy dating sim with 18+ content and very fun visuals
Tumblr media
4. Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia is a fishing sim that looks rather peaceful.... but is it? there might be something unsettling, waiting to be found beneath the water
Tumblr media
5. The Corridor is a short meta game about the experience of playing games. more specifically, about the experience of walking down a corridor. what does that mean? I don't know.
Tumblr media
6. Nuts is an eerie narrative game about.......watching squirrels?! and it doesn't disappoint, there are a large number of squirrels. the world you can walk through looks gorgeous, with stylized surreal colours.
Tumblr media
7. Brassica - A Marry Tale is a gay dating sim with a charming art style
Tumblr media
8. Orchids to Dusk is a short wandering game about an astronaut on an alien planet with only a few minutes left to live
Tumblr media

(This was written in July oh dear-)
You know how in a lot of fics a de-aged Danny winds up in Gotham either via Clockwork putting him there, or Danny goes through a portal (either through his own volition or not) and ends up being taken in by one of the bats?
Okay that, but what if he was never picked up and ends up falling through the cracks and becoming one of the many homeless children wandering Gotham's streets, but unlike all the other street kids who know when to keep their head down Danny just doesn't have those fear receptors... like at all- It's almost scary with how the kid manages to just not give a single flying fuck about what is going on.
So after a while of wandering the streets and getting acquainted with the Gotham's inhabitants everyone slowly get's used to the kid wandering around, dropping their guard and greeting him with smiles when he toddles around the corner, looking for his next meal or piece of scrap clothing.
Perhaps it's this show of trust they begin to notice the strangeness that hangs around him like a cloud. The shifting coloured eyes, the coldness in his skin that never seems to go away no matter how much clothing the kid gets bundled in.
The fact that no one knows where he goes once they take their eyes on him? Spooky to say the least, but they're Gothamites! One shady, possibly meta, kid ain't gonna change anything.
So he becomes a staple in everyone's lives, and eventually learned his name is Danny. He talks about having an older sister called Jazz, two best friends and a puppy he named Cujo. (who let their kids watch Cujo???) They also learned he had an innate fear of The Bats, whenever one swept into the streets during their nightly patrol he would just... disappear. He became unfindable and wouldn't appear until the next day.
At first they thought it was him finding a safe place to sleep while the night rolled around and the Rouges came out to play, but that assumption was quickly squashed when he was caught wailing on one of the Jokers henchmen. The white makeup couldn't even cover up the black and blue bruises that covered his face.
It was comical, if not a bit frightening to see this small child practically a baby sitting upon a knocked out, grown ass man. His little stubby legs dangling off the side of his body, too small to even reach the ground.
Of course nothing stays under the Bats radar for long so he end up eventually getting spotted. However none of the Bats where expecting such resistance from the civilians when they offered to take the kid.
Now whenever the little tyke is bumbling around and a Bat (or any other vigilante associated with them) is in the area, it's all hands on deck to distract Danny and get him somewhere else.
