Since I’m finally feeling better, and I figured I should get this all out now before the life gets sucked out of me by the joy that is customer service during the Holidays, bleh, but this is basically headcanons I’ve got for the au where Jim Hopper and Vance Hopper are father and son. Obviously, this is full au since I’ve already discussed canon compliant because the timelines match up a lot better than you think for a tragic backstory, but anyway! Full au entails the Black Phone taking place around 1983 or 1984 which would make Vance only about a year or two above El (I can never see him past 14 whenever I post about him, so he’s 14 when he moves to Hawkins and 13 when he was kidnapped), where Vance ends up moving to Hawkins after his dad insists on seeing him more because both the Grabber and Disappearance of Will Byers would, um, definitely be incidents that made Hopper realize life’s too short.

I feel like I should also mention I personally headcanon Vance as autistic, and I might give him traits I myself have. Also, that in this au, Vance would have been born in 1969-70 instead of 1964 to fit, and that the “Refrigerator mom theory” was only just starting to be discredited in the 60s and 70s, which was a theory people believed meant autism and neurodivergent symptoms in general were the parents’ fault because they didn’t give their child the correct amount of love and attention they should have during their developmental years. With that aside, I kinda tend to ramble, so if this is long, I’m sorry.

It’s mostly about some I have about Vance in general and the Hopper family before Sarah died, so on we go!

Hopper was still very much nervous about having kids due to the stories he heard from old friends who were exposed to Agent Orange with him, about their kids being born wrong or not at all, so he'd never been more relieved or happy when Vance was born perfectly fine if a little early. He figured he maybe got lucky, and wasn’t quite as anxious or felt as guilty about withholding the risks from Diane when she told him she was pregnant again nearly a year later.

Of course, when Sarah got sick with cancer, Jim realized he wasn’t the one that was lucky, Vance was, and he does wonder to himself sometimes through the years if maybe the reason Vance is so “different” is because the chemicals were passed down to him through Jim, too, just in a different way.

The camera shot of Hopper crying in the hospital stairwell is through the perspective of nine-year-old Vance who realized in that moment his sister was never getting better because his father never cries.

Vance is very touch averse unless you're close to him like friends, his parents or Sarah, and even then a warning is best, from behind is not advised without letting him know its you (after escaping the Grabber, coming up and touches from behind was completely off limits for a long while, it sent him into full fight or flight mode and you know exactly which one he's gonna pick), and sometimes touch can still get too much and he will make it known. He reacts really badly otherwise, if you are not close and you touch him, you get a warning on good days by just pushing you away and on bad days, expect him to swing at you.

Vance is not good at reading social cues or how he's supposed to react in certain situations, which results in his rude and standoffish behavior.

When he likes something, he gets very cautious with anything different, someone once posted that getting Vance to try something new is like getting a feral cat into a bath, and that's all I can see.

When getting instructions, Vance needs them super specific, he'll ask questions and such of what exactly he's doing or grabbing, it drives Jim up the wall and he tries to stay patient when Vance is practically interrogating him or when he's not specific enough which ends with Vance bringing back or doing the wrong thing he was supposed to.

This is both because Hopper knows his son just wants to be sure and do a good job and because he knows if he loses his temper and snaps at him, Vance will bring or do the wrong thing on purpose out of pure pettiness and spite.

Jim and Vance's similarities both divide them and bring them together. When Vance was a kid, it helped bond them because while Jim didn't entirely understand what Vance had, he did understand Vance got angry easily the same way he did when he was younger (although for different reasons, Jim because his dad was a fairly abusive douchebag, and Vance because he is easily overstimulated and had a lot of meltdowns.), and tried ways that helped his anger issues to help Vance that actually worked somewhat.

Big Hopper taught little Hopper how to fight. He thought it might help Vance to get the anger out since sometimes, to him, you just need to hit something, and would often encourage him to playfight or practice his punches when he could see Vance start to get overwhelmed at home.

Diane fought with him about it because she didn't like him encouraging violence to solve problems.

Hopper would also playing loud music on the car radio that he knew Vance liked to calm him down by being able to listen to just one, constant sound while he quietly coached him through breathing techniques.

Overall, neither he nor Diane really understood how to deal with Vance, they did try their best with varying results, but every now and then Vance tries to let them know the effort’s still appreciated.

Jim honestly doesn't mind Vance's aversion and just chooses to appreciate that he must be doing something right that Vance feels safe enough around him to consider his touch familiar and calming.

When they were still married, Diane mostly handled Vance since he needed to be handled somewhat delicately because of his aversions and hypersensitivity but at the same time needed to be taught his behavior wasn’t okay when the teacher called home for the tenth time that week on Wednesday. Meanwhile, because of Jim’s hesitance to be too strict or get angry with either of his kids, he let Sarah get away with a lot.

I’m taking more my experiences with my brother as kids for this one since we don’t know a lot about Sarah.

Sarah and Vance were pretty close, actually, despite their differences, though Vance had to be reminded a few times to be gentle with his sister. Sometimes, the cute aggression would take hold, and he’d tackle her, poke, or pinch her playfully, and once or twice just pick her up to show he could and carry her around the house like a big teddy bear.

They would chase each other a lot and bring back home sticks, rocks, and whatever poor unfortunate worm they found on the sidewalk or grass outside.

They both loved animals and the zoo, and while never successful, would hide from their parents whenever they lured home a stray animal from mice to dogs.

Even as a kid, Vance would probably try to catch baby alligators if you let him, and “No, honey, you cannot pet the giant snake, just because it’s friend-shaped does not mean it’s a friend.”

Like most siblings, they did get into fights that would turn into brawls, but despite what Jim would ever believe, 8 times out of 10, Sarah did start it and she was a biter.

the fact that he has long and consistent backstory but it's allll just trauma. literally nothing good has ever happened to this man i swear to god. on a more lighthearted note i love that they made a whole episode about him being able to play the piano and unintentionally stealing multiple Marvin Hamlisch songs just because they realized they have Malcolm Gets they can just make him do what he's best at (playing a miserable man playing the piano)

really dig your redux, ive got my own im working on and its fun to see where things overlap and differ! funnily enough we both have possessed sols - but mine is just a disgruntled df cat who came to foretell the eclipse and sway the clans from starclan

Possessed Sols are the BEST

Sol being a god was an idea I had a couple of months ago, but it actually just started out with him and Midnight. Twin gods of creation.

Midnight spent a thousand years perfectly crafting the islands, digging the clay from the sea and scoring the lakes and rivers into being with her claws. She wove her own fur into the dirt, springing up as trees and grass and flowers. From the dust she crafted the animals, swift fish, mighty deer, scurrying mice, and to each carnivore she gave a piece of her heart.

And then Sol came along and invented the concept of England and ruined everything

It started off as a half-joke like a lot of my stuff does, but then I leaned into it more, drawing out Rock as a god as well, and then realizing that it would be an excellent way to give agency back to the Tribe if Sharptooth was supernaturally strong and they HAD killed him a bunch of times.

After all that I came back to Sol, and was considering nixxing the Harry & Cinders backstory completely since it didn't fit anymore. But that was around the time that @lockandkeyhyena started fighting the good fight (being unhinged about a character and changing the fandom's tune on them basically overnight) and there was suddenly new interest in those two

So what worked best for my rewrite was combining Harry and Cinders into the same person, and establishing that Harry needs just one more sacrifice before Sol gives him the power he wants. SkyClan and the Stranger is being reduxed into a story about Cinders/Harry choosing between the happy life he could have with friends and support as a SkyClan cat (everything he ever needed), OR the POWER he could have by stealing his last kit sacrifice and becoming the vessel of a GOD

I just find that personally more compelling than Harry being a lazy dipshit and just leaving Cinders as another overwhelmed mom demonized by the narrative. (Lizardstripe is also getting a revamp btw)

Hi hi!! Okay okay,, so I’ll infodump as much as I can about the modern lore here. Rei’s genshin lore is a bit too complicated and isn’t fully fleshed out yet so—

Rei’s a very interesting character in terms of personality. He’s incredibly kind and patient, almost unnervingly so. He’s always been a fairly timid and gentle character. His outward appearance shows that perfectly, but you’d be surprised to find out how dark he can be.

It’s mostly due to his past. Rei had a bad childhood. His father worked abroad and his step mother neglected him. He often got bullied at school as well and constantly got into fights because of it.

Back then when he was much younger, he was moreso of a pushover. He lets others trample on him since he had no idea what to do and he felt as if he deserved it. Until one day, he just… seemed to snap out of nowhere. And the only person to ever help him out during this was Allen, his only friend whom he met in high school.

Most of his character development focuses on this. He’s always felt like an outcast and tried his absolute best to conform to society and fit in. But the pressure put on him by his peers and his step mother was too much for him to handle, thus he simply gave up and lashed out at everyone around him.

He slowly but surely learns to accept himself with the help of Allen. He started thriving during University and became much happier once he left his household and lived on his own. He realized that snapping and lashing out at others was the worst thing he could’ve done, and he regrets it deeply. There’s never a time where he doesn’t feel awful about it.

In fact, this is why he’s so patient and kind. He doesn’t want others to go through what he did, and he doesn’t want to repeat his mistakes ever again.

However, don’t mistake him for a pushover. He isn’t like that anymore either. Rei will put his foot down if absolutely needed. And sometimes he feels a bit bad for it even if it was absolutely necessary and right for him to do so.

Rei’s also known to be pretty sensitive, paranoid, and stubborn. I’m sure you can tell why by now :P

He’s also very passionate, loyal, and sentimental. Not to mention, incredibly hardworking and observant. Rei is an artist who went through so much to get to where he is now. He uses his art as a way to express himself and tell his stories. It would be near impossible for you to stop him from achieving his dreams.

Right now, he currently lives with his husband Lawrence (and their calico cat Elise) and has two adopted sons. The actual story he’s in starts a few years before that, when he meets his husband and works with him as his assistant in an animation studio.

Other than that… there’s nothing else to say aside from a few more fun facts or tidbits:

Rei has ADHD and SAD. He also used to suffer from selective mutism but it’s been treated ever since he went to University

His name is inspired by Juuzou Suzuya from Tokyo Ghoul and Studio Ghibli’s co-founder Hayao Miyazaki

He’s actually my first trans ftm character which is why he holds a special place in my heart. He will forever be my biggest comfort character <3

His birthday is on June 26, his zodiac sign being Cancer. He’s currently 29 but is around 25-27 during the story

He’s an INFP, has a soft spot for grumpy mean idiots like Lawrence, loves strawberries, and is a hopeless romantic

Hi! What are in your opinion the 5/10 best written characters in RWBY so far? And why? Also, is there a character that you think is underrated?

Okay. So, it is hard for me to rank character arcs that are not finished yet, so I'm biased to give arcs I see as complete or mostly complete higher opinions (or lower!) based on the fact that there will be little if anything new added.

(The underrated character? Oh hell yeah. They’re on here. See #5)

1) Penny Polendina

I feel like I've said a lot of what I feel about Penny already, and @aspoonofsugar has posted excellent analyses of our girl too. Her arc is brilliantly written and so it pains me to see fandom thinking it's badly done. It was cathartic for me, shocking but sensical, and ultimately beautiful and hopeful despite its immense tragedy and unfairness. Kind of all you can ask from a tragic arc.

2) Cinder Fall

I think Cinder will end up as #1, honestly, because her arc is longer and more complex than Penny's, but it's not done yet. Her backstory, though? It was excellently woven into the story and thus far is my favorite use of the fairy tale allusion. I find her development realistic, her psyche fascinating, and am convinced the seeds of redemption will flourish because of how tightly written her arc has been so far. See more here for my thoughts on Cinder's arc.

3) Pyrrha Nikos

Tragedy, tragedy. Pyrrha's arc in volume 3 was what ultimately gripped me onto the RWBY train--I liked the first two seasons and was intrigued, but Pyrrha's tragedy was just so perfectly executed, a huge shift in tone, and a stunningly cathartic finale that made me feel things.

4) James Ironwood

I am sorry, but I strongly disagree with people thinking Ironwood was poorly written. He was not. He was exemplary of RWBY's take on humanity: complex. He was a good man at heart who turned into a genocidal tyrant. Do you really think that the genocidal tyrants in real life are not also motivated in part by goodness, even if tempered by fear? His arc was sobering and his ending fitting. He reminds me of SnK's Eren Jaeger, in that these arcs aren't popular nowadays in fiction, but are perhaps needed more than ever.

5) Mercury Black

Okay, here he is, the character I think is most underrated. The fandom is sleeping on him, I tell you! Almost every. single. scene. Mercury appears in develops him and sheds new light on his character. He's had major save-the-cat moments from his first appearance with Emerald, and his backstory is the most dark and traumatic of anyone we've heard--even more so than Cinder's, like, objectively speaking.

A child whose father abused him and stole his soul so he killed him--while still a kid! The subtext of Mercury's father stealing his soul isn't subtle and it's devastating, and to see that same subtext carried over in Mercury's relationship with Tyrian is agonizing to watch. Mercury's own internalization of his abuse--telling himself that he doesn't need family while very much regarding Cinder as exactly his family (the same way he thought of his father--yet his desire to protect Emerald from the same pain, his contradictory expectation/excusing of abuse and his realization that it isn't right in how he talks to Emerald--he's got the potential to be one of the top 3, honestly.

The heart of what RWBY has to say about abused and unwanted children lies with Mercury Black. He can't break out of the cycle of abuse, and he's an unreliable narrator, but he does truly care about Emerald, which will be his saving grace.

Anyways, obviously the meat of Merc’s arc isn’t here yet. But the set up is so well done that he’s fairly high up.

6) Weiss Schnee

Weiss is my girl. I love her development and how it's been integrated through all the volumes thus far: her slowly learning to become her own person, to become her own special snowflake (heh) instead of relying on the Schnee name. I also think Weiss's arc isn't finished and there's still a decent substance of it ahead, but so far there's enough for me to put her here.

7) Winter Schnee

Again, as with Weiss, I think Winter will have some development in coming volumes, but I do think the majority of her focus was in volume 8. I love her relationships with Penny and her siblings, her relationship with Jacques, the Ace-Ops, and the way she became the maiden was bittersweet, agonizing, and hopeful at the same time. She would have died there at Ironwood's hands if not for Penny, but it's unfair, because of Penny's then death. But it's perfectly compliments and foils both Penny's and Cinder's arcs, because Winter had been in line to receive the maiden power. But she couldn't receive it because she was supposed to. Instead, it was the choice of her genuine friend that gave her the powers.

8) Yang Xiao Long

I love Yang's confrontation with her mother in volume 5; it's one of my favorite dialogues in the entire show. Her struggle with abandonment fears are realistic and painful, as is her struggle with PTSD. I love that instead of learning to abandon abandoners, Yang instead is challenged through falling for Blake (whose flaw is to run and abandon). This both compliments and challenges Yang's own flaw (rushing in and hurting herself).

9) Emerald Sustrai

Emerald is also ranked lower because I feel like the crux of her arc is looming but we are just not quuuuuite there yet. I still think Maiden!Emerald is a genuine possibility, and a confrontation with Cinder lies ahead. But the heart of her arc isn't any power or even redemption: it's about her desire for family. RWBY deals in complexity, remember. Cinder might not have truly cared for Em the way Em did for her, but Mercury does. Emerald should be instrumental to saving Mercury.

10) Oscar Pine

Again I think the crux of his arc lies ahead, but he's incredibly compelling to me, and his struggle to not want to be Ozpin's latest bodily host and to remain himself is at the heart of RWBY's themes: what makes us who we are?

11) Ruby Rose

I fully expect Ruby to work her way to the top 5 in the next few seasons, though. I just feel like we haven't gotten to the meat of her arc yet, even though she's one of my favorite characters in the story. So she's like simmering in the background.

12) Jaune Arc

I also think Jaune will work his way up. I think his arc has been excellently conducted so far, going from a coward to a hero. However, I think a major part of his arc will be in the fallout from killing Penny, so I'm excited to see it but it leaves him down the list... for now.

Ml Meta analysis: Adriens current absents, season 4 structure and theory on whats to come

Here I am back again with my endless rambling.

I'm just as worried for our cat son as everyone else (maybe even more) which is why I tried figuring out for my own sanity why he is so absent currently.

Upfront I wanna warn yall that I wrote this post in one rush this night and therefore had no time to do alot of editing. So things can probably get a bit more messy than usual but I tried to write it clearly, while writing 2 other ml essays as well. This is the one drawback of having so many episodes in such a short time, I have no time to write my posts x3 I had another theory planned for before Optigami airs but I don't think I can manage before tomorrow.

But let's not waste any more time. Grab a snack and here we go:

It's 2am right now but I think I just realized why Adrien/Chat Noir is being sidelined so much recently.

Sure, yes, it'll come into play in the very obviously set up Ladynoir drama later on but what I wanna talk about now is more the structure of how s4 is most likely written in terms of both Marinettes and Adriens side of the story. And then deep dive a little on why I think so.

You see season 4 is now reaping what has been built up from s1-s3, but this also includes that you have to take the time now to properly recreate the new possibilities out of the loose pieces of the broken status quo.

Seriously, season 4 has to handle and reinvent ALOT. The show got now officially announced to have 7 seasons, which is exactly the amount of seasons Astruc said they have story for. I couldnt find the official tweet from Thomas himself but I one from another source:

And now look take a look at the possible shows structure:

- s1-s3 was the first status quo and built up everything so now they can pay off after pay off while...

-... S4 is now the transitional season where the old status quo gets left behind as we work towards the new one.

-I have nothing to proof this of course, but in the same sense it would now make sense that s5-s7 where/are planned to play out under the final status quo. If I'm not wrong at first the show was under contract for 5 seasons, which would mean that after the transitional season 4 there was only 1 season of the final status quo for sure. Still, done right it could have been worth the wait. But this isn't where Miraculous will end. The show actually got the 7 seasons the creator wanted and THIS is how I think the long term plan makes the most sense. Nothing all too complicated but still hella effective in its execution.

But now back to our two main characters, because Marinettes and Adriens development are the two aspects that will raise the show to the intense heights of the s5-s7 status quo.

From s1-s3 Marinette was the active player but she was hardly involved with the actual PLOT of the show, since most of the plot and backstory of the show lies directly with the Agreste family. She only started to get her own plot when she literally created a new one by getting involved with the miraculous lore, because the closest Marinette got to the Agreste plot was "The collector".

Adrien in the other hand was always literally right in the middle of the plot but he wasn't enough of an active player to bring us further either.

Season 4 is now going to add the missing parts for both of them and as the very beginning of the season showed us: there are going to do it SEPERATLY.

This is why "Truth" and "Lies" have been structured the way they are (One Marinette-centric the other Adrien-centric). Yes, Marinette and Adrien are meant to end their story victoriously together, but they are simply not the people they have to be to become such a powerful team. Certain aspects of their journey they have to do... basically disconnected from the other one. The "Miracle Queen" endcard shows it quite nicely as well where they are heading now: away from each other.

Obviously the season started with Marinette growing into her new guardian status including everything miraculous related, since she is the main lead and because the new ways the episodes can now utilize everything Miraculous need to be established first before we deep dive into the messed up Agreste mystery.

So while I totally agree that it is annoying to get so little Adrien/Chat Noir content currently I also understand the practicality behind it. As I said, before s4 Marinette was the active main character who mostly didn't really have her own plot. So now adding her plot aspect and have her ACTIVELY figure everything needed out means that right now Marinette/Ladybug is the active focus main character who is solving a huge part of her s4 character arc. That simply drowns out Adrien as the currently still mostly-inactive secondary main character who, yes, may be right in the middle of the shows emotional + villain plot/lore/backstory, but that side of the story simply isn't in focus at the moment.

And I gotta say, I'm kinda glad they're doing it this way. Because I'm gonna be honest, when the season starts giving us Adrien/family Agreste episodes like "Lies" and "The collector" (in this case "Gabriel Agreste" for example) again, I don't want the narrative to be forced to spend time with something guardian lore based just because they didn't took their time to do it earlier.

So, as we see on the s4 episode raster "Gabriel Agreste" is episode 9. Honestly, I expect most of it (especially the ones near the beginning, so ep. 5 included) til that episode to be Marinette based the way everything else til now did (besides Lies obviously and Guilt trip didn't hardcore focus on Marinette/Ladybug either and that's because it's after "Gabriel Agreste") in the spirit of "Truth". It's just the needed set up from Marinettes side of the story and I can live with that.

Because we actually saw the change after "Gabriel Agreste" already in "Guilt trip".

I don't know why some people pretend like Chat almost cataclysming himself after hearing how guilt-eaten Nino is for Adriens sake isn't a huge indicator that the episodes afterwards will not only acknowledge but also DEAL with Adriens/Chats situation and problems. Remember, we are talking about CHAT NOIR here not Adrien Agreste. The show has always portrayed and acknowledged ADRIENS issues very straight forward and with the proper seriousness (especially when it comes to his family), whereas Chat Noir was often mostly used for comedic purposes with some exceptions of his problems being properly delt with (since Marinette/Ladybug was mostly oblivious to them, since Adrien keeps them hidden so well). But now in "Guilt trip" LADYBUG was confronted head-on with just how much negativity Chat has inside and how quickly and extremely he drowns in it.

Sure, correct, the episode also has his negativity "washed away" rather quickly by Ladybug opening up to him on how important he is to her

But this is in character for both of them as "Lies" very clearly showed us that the way BOTH OF THEM behave here is where the problem lies. There Ladybug was freaked out after Chat threw his life away once again but quickly accepted Chats very direct avoidance of the confrontation, since he seemed to be alright to her.

Something I also find noteworthy here is that Ladybugs dialog is "Seriously, you need to stop doing this to me!", which is.... a VERY Marinette-centric way of acknowledging the problem.

It completely shifts the issue away from Adriens extremely alarming self-harmful/suicidal tendencies and instead only calls out how it affects Marinette (whose feelings here are definitely valid, don't get me wrong!). It showcases perfectly how unaware Marinette still is of her partners inner tumult at that point and also parallels how Marinette called Adriens life "perfect" at the beginning of the episode (This is no shade towards Marinette, in general the entirety of "Lies" is about showing us just how harmful Adriens Chat Noir persona actually IS to him so these two moments of her being oblivious to Adriens and Chats immense problems very much fits into that episodes narrative and sets up what's about to come. I still have an entire essay in the making for "Lies" but, guys, it's just getting longer and longer. I suck xD).

So the fact that an episode after "Gabriel Agreste" brings this scenario back, just a little different but ALOT more revealing of Adriens immense problems to his partner, is VERY telling. Besides other things it tells us that this happens at the beginning of the arc that deals with (at least) Chats issues since Ladybug is still way too quickly too ready to accept her partner as "completely fine" again just because Chat makes it seem that way (while some negativity increasing guilt bubbles still to stick to him.).

And yet, others have already pointed it out that Ladybug IS noticing what Chat wanted to do and reacted accordingly...

she just didn't speak of it the way it is because it overwhelmed her, which calls back to Ladybugs "You have to stop doing this to me!" dialog.( For a great breakdown of her dialog HERE is a link to @flightfoot post)

In "Lies" Marinette was way too stressed by her new guardian role to even consider Chats side of it and therefore only spoke of her own, but in "Guilt trip" she's already past that stressful arc. So here she is immediately able to recognize Chats suicidal action for what it is, come to his (much needed) aid and lift her partners spirit the best she can by emotionally opening up to him (which is something we KNOW is incredibly hart for Marinette).

The difference between her reaction in "Lies" and in "Guilt trip" shows that Marinette has her guardian role already mostly handled and is now mentally able to be there for others again, so the extremely Marinette-centric "Truth"-like episodes are mostly passed. Now the episodes can bring Adrien/Chat Noir more into the game again and even shift to "Lies" - like episodes because MARINETTE can pay more attention to him again and isn't faced with something new, important and overwhelming Miraculous related every step she takes.

And THAT is extremely fair from a narrative standpoint.

I really need to stop elaborating so much on these posts because I'm only NOW actually getting to the point of where Adriens journey will disconnect for a while from Ladybugs. Sorry guys.

Okay, to understand where I'm going with this I will have to quickly explain how I always saw Chat Noirs place in the Ladybug+Chat Noir vs Hawkmoth war ever since s1.

Because here is the thing: Adrien wasn't able to truly leave the battle field ONCE since the origins. Marinette was completely out of Hawkmoths and Gabriels reach once she detransformed, which balances out her basically being the personification of the good sides force. And Gabriel literally decided whenever or not the battle is even ACTIVE right now! Besides that he is in complete control of his own actions and environment, which gives him all the necessary time, safety and downtime he needs to act as the personification of the evil sides force.

Marinette and Gabriel always knew when they were safe and off the battle field, but ADRIEN never had that and it left him LITERALLY right in the middle of both Ladybugs and Hawkmoths sides.

You see, because before Adrien became Chat Noir he basically was part of Hawkmoths side just by default. He was born into this family, that's his father and lost mother and everything he knows. Adrien didn't/doesn't even have to KNOW that he is part of Hawkmoths side, he's his son at some level he just IS! And I'm not saying this as anything negative, Adrien coming from Hawkmoths side is literally the reason why he became Chat Noir!

Because whereas Gabriel is having the time of his damn life as evil terrorist, created out of tragic and sinister circumstances, ADRIEN on the other hand couldn't handle his families environment and very same circumstances anymore and accepted the role as Paris' hero to escape his heritage for a while.

Keywords being: a WHILE.

Something unique about Adrien I always loved is the fact that he is the villains abused, isolated and overworked SON, who becomes a hero to escape his depressing life and YET it was never Adriens intention to LEAVE IT. Adrien merely wanted to use his time as Chat Noir to let of some steam and breath freely while doing some hero work so he can go back into his civilian life and try to one day successfully ment his broken family. He couldn't handle the current situation anymore but he still always saw worth in his family/father. I have SO MUCH respect for that!

But him not intending to leave his family and instead regaining strength as Chat Noir to continue to hold onto it came with the downside of him not being able to fully become part of the good sides people/force either. Hence why Adriens/Chats place always felt so lost in comparison to Ladybugs and Hawkmoths clear positions. He's caught in between their extremes trying to balance out BOTH at the same time. What an impossible task!

So he couldn't put in the same focus as Ladybug into being the good sides force because he is literally burned out from his civilian life on Hawkmoths evil side. But he also couldn't be involved as an ACTIVE member of his fathers evil force, because he chose to find refuge in his friends and as a hero on Ladybugs side.

Adrien unknowingly is part of BOTH the shows two extreme moral sides of good and evil and this season we will see Adrien/Chat Noir grow into his own within BOTH sides as well.

Because he simply couldn't have done so right away in s1. Now after 3 seasons Chat Noir is more than solidly established as one of Paris Heros and his time with Ladybug, the other heros and his normal friends helped him greatly to find his place on the good side. "Lies" set this up as Chat Noirs arcs starting point that now he has to stop connecting "being heroic" strictly with following Ladybug (as Marinette is the STAND IN personification for the good side, she's still a flawed human being like everyone else and not the ultimate force of perfect and good. Big difference.) just as he has to start looking past his fathers sympathetic moments/qualities to see that Hawkmoth isn't a 100%, inhumane monster just because he is the stand-in personification of evil in their fight, but the man he calls Father and still needs to be taken down. (I talked about this in more detail on THIS post)

Adrien has to seperat himself from Ladybugs path and focus on his family and I believe it'll start with the much dreaded (but expected) Ladynoir fight.

Funnily enough, what I'm talking about was actually already set up in "Frozer" I just didn't remember that for a bit. In "Frozer" we saw Ladynoir having a fight which caused Chat Noir to go his own way in the episodes battle.

I always found it interesting that the episode didn't had Chats decision, to not follow Ladybugs lead here, turn out to be a huge mistake. Almost every other show would have done so but now I think I understand. This episode and s2 in general SET UP the s4 conflict, s3 LEAD UP to it and now s4 DELIVERS it.

So what happened in "Frozer" is a direct parallel to what about to go down:

Ladynoirs fight will cause Chat Noir to not simply follow Ladybugs side anymore the way he used to, but note, he DOESN'T leave the good side AND they make up again in the end after Chat saves Ladybug from the akuma. He just does things on his own because he isn't on great terms with her for a while. "Frozer" showed Chats decision to not only NOT be a mistake but also a necessary part of defeating the akuma, just the way it'll be in s4. Damn, Adrien breaking away from Ladybugs side, the way she (unintentionally tho) did at the beginning of the season, to focus more on himself and his family will be the game changing factor, when Adrien will have his completing arc where he goes from "not active character within the villain/backstory plot" to "ACTIVE character within the villain/backstory plot".

And we already saw with Marinette how many fast breakthroughs we get through these completing arcs. Which is also a reason for why Adriens/ Chats arc comes later in the season, because BUDDY. Once Adrien starts to actively uncover his families mystery and fathers secrets Gabriel is SCREWED! Adrien will gain the needed inside knowledge that complements Marinettes Miraculous power; and reunited they can take on whatever the hell kind of scale the Agrestes plan actually is.

So how to end this post? My biggest intention was to raise hope for everybody (myself included lol) who is right now very concerned and upset about how side-lined our boy is at the moment. But I prefer doing so in a way that actually works with canons context instead of sugarcoating what I don't like. And Adriens/Chats current position I definitely do NOT like but accepting it as realistic outcome from s1-s3 and set up for the escalation for both Ladynoir and his home situation gives it the proper purpose and pay off (narrative and character wise) that it SHOULD have.

Basically, the endcards of "Truth" and "Lies" show it perfectly.

It looks like ShadowMoth is turning a blind eye towards Adrien/Chat Noir because of Ladybugs new guardian status and "greater importance". But Gabriels tunnel vision on Ladybug will leave him vulnerable to his own sons secret actions against him and Gabriel won't see it coming until its already too late.

Wonderful! Au Part 7! (also on ao3 here) another episode only installment, and obnoxiously fluffy! Have fun!

Martin, tired: Hello everybody! Welcome, or welcome back, to a very low energy episode. We have had, as the kids say, A Week Tm.

Jon, equally tired, but fond: Is that as the kids say?

Martin: I don't know, and perhaps worse, I don't really care. I guess I could ask Jeremiah next time he's over, but I'm not sure if that would actually help.

Jon: Shockingly, I don't think two year olds have their finger on the beating pulse of youth culture.

Martin: Hmm, maybe not. Speaking of Jeremiah, he's part of why the format of this episode is gonna be a bit different than our regular. On top of me dealing with a frankly obscene amount of inventory management, and Jon being swamped with grant writing-

Jon: I never want to look at proposal guidelines again-

Martin: we were on babysitting duty for our favourite neighborhood hellion-

Jon: Hey, Jeremiah is a very sweet kid! I know he's a toddler, but we shouldn't be slandering him anyway.

Martin: One, we're not even using his real name, I don't think that counts as slander, and two, exactly, he's a toddler, he's by default a hellion.

Jon, teasing: This coming from the person that actually wants one?

Martin: I..look, if anything, the last few days have shown we should not be permanent parents.

Jon: But?

Martin:...There's no but.

Jon: I don't believe you! Are you lying for my benefit or the audience's? Because someone spent the last five days wearing one of the largest grins I've ever seen, exhausted as it may have been.

Martin: Okay! Fine, I admit, I liked having a kid around. I still think it would be a bad idea to do it full time, but I dunno. I wish we weren't both only children or something. We would make such good uncles.

Jon: Should I should have taken that teaching job after all?

Martin: Perhaps. After all,

Martin, singsong: An English teacher, is really someone!

Jon and Martin, singing together: If only you, had be-come one!

Jon: Honestly, though, I was considerably underqualified. I'm much more suited to my current job, even if it doesn't have quite the same impact on the "shaping of the next generation" or whatnot.

Martin: Wait, you actually care about qualifications now? When did that change?

Jon: This coming from Mister "master's degree in parapsychology"? And it was probably around the time that the world ended from taking on a workload I was ill-suited for.

Jon:...

Jon: Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Martin: Oh, of course. Definitely nothing literally apocalyptic in our pasts, no siree, nothing to see or speculate about or make weirdly involved forums for here. Uh, anyway, long introduction not so short: Both of us have been averaging about 4 hours of sleep, so any sort of actual research was not on the table.

Jon: If any of you are wondering why we didn't just say that we're both very much worn out and thus we'll be taking a week off, it's because we're both deeply, deeply stubborn.

Martin: It's one of our best shared qualities that has never caused any conflict between us, ever.

Jon: In fairness, sheer stubbornness does account for, what, 75% of the reason that either of us are still alive? And it hasn't caused a major conflict between us in a good three years.

Martin: That's true. We've become a deeply boring, relatively conflict free couple. Which fucking rules, by the way. To all the couples out there: I highly recommend being boring. It is so nice. We've gotten to go to the farmer's market so many times.

Jon: You do love the farmer's market. I would say that it's the access to fresh produce, but I think you just like the attention that one yarn seller gives you. Can't believe you would take advantage of a crush to get discounts on wool. How did I marry such an opportunist?

Martin: Ollie does not have a crush on me. They're just friendly to everyone.

Jon: Bullshit. I certainly never get an extra skein or stitch markers or delicate fabric cleaner tossed in my bag. Actually, I think I've been charged more for committing the crime of having married you before they could.

Martin: I'm..70% sure that's not true, but every sentence we speak, we stray further from even pretending to be on topic. So, to everybody listening, this is the itty bitty episode! Basically, we're only doing small wonders and user submissions. If you want details or backstory for things we like, too bad, come back next week. Jon, I believe you're first this week?

Jon: Oh, right. My first small wonder is cat names.

Martin: Delightful, but unsurprising. Though, I would've expected either more or less specificity. Why cat names as opposed to pet's names in general, or, like, military title names?

Jon: Well that's simple enough. I've simply never met a misnamed cat, even if the name itself wasn't to my personal tastes, and I think that speaks to the wonderful universality of cats.

Martin: This, of course, implies that you have met animals that were misnamed.

Jon: Oh, I have. I once met a papillion dog named Meatball.

Martin: Now I know you don't like food names in general for pets, but are you sure that Meatball didn't suit the dogs personality? I've known some "Meatballs" in my lifetime.

Jon, only half-mock offended: Of course it didn't fit, Martin. She was a lady. A nervous, jittery lady, but a lady nonetheless.

Martin, laughing: And what, you've never met a dignified cat with an undignified name, or vice versa? Would you be okay with our cat being named Meatball?

Jon: I would be upset if our cat was named Meatball, because we named her and we're above that sort of thing, but, technically speaking, she could have been Meatball in another lifetime and it wouldn't have been wrong. You see, all cats are a mix of both extremely austere and little baby idiot.

Martin: Oh, is that the scientific terminology?

Jon: It is. Now, while there's probably some amount of, er, normative determinism or confirmation bias or something that results in a cat with a more dignified name seeming to possess more of that austerity, as all cats have both, any name can, potentially, fit. Hence why it's wonderful.

Martin: I..accept your proposal for now, but I think more research needs to be done. Maybe we should visit the shelter this weekend and test your hypothesis.

Jon: Hmm. I think we may need to visit multiple shelters, actually. A large sample size is necessary for any sort of veracity, obviously.

Martin, imitating Jon tone: Obviously.

Jon: Glad you agree. What's your first small wonder?

Martin: Tofu!

Jon: I..didn't realize you liked that much?

Martin: Well, I don't get it very often since I know you can't stand the texture, even though it is not like 'worse scrambled eggs', and you're a horrible food thief-

Jon: Lies and slander. We readily share. If I'm a horrible food thief, you have committed the exact same, if not worse, crime as myself.

Martin: Well, we are thick as thieves.

Jon, groaning: You're thick as something alright

Martin: Rude! My beloved husband-

Jon: -uh huh-

Martin: whom I love and trust with my most tender of hearts-

Jon: -an oddly cannibalistic turn of phrase-

Martin, badly suppressing laughter: Oh, my god. I want a divorce, then I can put tofu in as many dishes as I like. I'll triple my protein intake.

Jon: It'd never go through. I'll burn the papers. No, wait, I'll burn down the legal offices where the papers are kept.

Martin: Hmm. While my experiences with it have been, uh, varied to say the least, I do have to admit that arson is one of the more attractive crimes of passion. I suppose I'll take you back.

Jon, flat: I'm so very grateful.

Jon, genuine: You do have yet to actually tell me why you think tofu is wonderful, love.

Martin: It's just a good food! It's neutral enough that you can toss it in pretty much anything with a sauce, you can bake it, you can fry it, whatever. Plus it's what? two? Three quid? I spent many years of my life living off the cheapest, saltiest approximation of noodles you could imagine, and half a pack of tofu, a little bit of sesame oil, and some green onions went a long way to both making it more filling and less sad.

Martin: Plus, I feel like it often gets decried for being something it's not? It's so often viewed as a meat substitute or the vegan alternative option, and so when people try it, they often go in with a false preconceived notion of what it's going to be like, and then end up disappointed. They're all like, 'ugh, this doesn't taste like turkey!' and yeah, of course it doesn't. It's the oatmeal raisin cookie of the protein world, a perfectly good and tasty treat on its own, but if you want chocolate chip, it's not gonna work.

Jon: Martin you don't even like oatmeal raisin. I'm the only one that ever eats them out of the multipacks.

Martin: Well, yeah, but I don't like oatmeal raisin because of its flavor, not because I think it should be chocolate chip and fails. It illustrates my point. Also, just for balance, is your next small wonder oatmeal raisin cookies?

Jon: No, though, maybe one of these weeks. They are good. But no, um, my next small wonder is being married.

Martin, let out a high bark of a laugh: Being married is a small wonder?!

Jon: Small wonders doesn't mean a lack of importance! Or even significance in our lives. Half the time we even end up spending just as much time chattering on about them as the things we actually research. But, yes, I didn't feel like researching the concept of being married. For one, a lot of the history of it is depressing and patriarchal, and for two, it's not something I really feel any need to elaborate on. Being married. I very much enjoy it. I recommend it for anybody that's found someone that they want to marry, and who wants to marry them. I really recommend being married to Martin Blackwood, I think I would enjoy it significantly less if it was to anybody else, but one: we typically try to make the wonderful things in this show applicable to more than just ourselves, and two: I got there first, so I believe the appropriate thing to say here would be; neener neener and/or everyone else can go suck it, Ollie.

Martin: Well...

Jon: Well, what?

Martin: Saying you got there first is technically not true-

Jon: What?!

Martin, laughing like a bastard: Sorry, sorry! Couldn't resist! Jon, you already know that you're my first real realationship, how would be married before fit that?

Jon: Hence my surprise at the notion! I cannot believe you! I give you my trust, my earnestness, and belief-

Martin [only laughs harder]

Jon: and you throw it in my face for a bit. I take back everything, being married is a nightmare, because sometimes your partner thinks he a fucking comedian and you just have to put up with him because you love him and want to live the rest of your life with him or some such nonsense. Not worth it, if you ask me. My turn to ask for the divorce.

Martin: Babe, hate to break it to you, but both of us are guilty of doing bits that the other doesn't like, it's an integral part of a healthy marriage, and secondly, you knew who I was long before I proposed. You should've said no when you had the chance.

Jon: Hang on, you proposed?

Martin: Yeah? This isn't part of a bit, of course I proposed. I'm even pretty sure you were there. The whole visit back to Scotland trip? I finally made you a sweater and said it was because we would now be immune to the boyfriend curse?

Jon: No, no, I remember all that, but it wasn't the proposal. It was a reaffirmation of the proposal. We had already decided to get married.

Martin: Well, yeah,, I wasn't just gonna spring that on you, we had had conversations beforehand-

Jon: No, I mean, I had already proposed. I asked you to marry me a good three years earlier, and you said yes, which is a proposal by any definition that I know.

Martin: Jon, love, darling, apple of my eye, fire of my soul, I mean this in the nicest way possible, what the everloving fuck are you talking about?

Jon: In the ambulance ride when we, uh, moved here. It was the thing I said to you the second I saw your eyes were open.

[An audible pause is left in the recording.]

Martin: That does not count.

Jon: How does it not count?! I asked you to marry me, you very emphatically said yes, that's the de facto definition of an accepted marriage proposal!

Martin: It doesn't count because you were half-delirious with blood-loss, and I had a traumatic brain injury that the hospital was very surprised I made a full recovery from. No court in the world would consider anything we said then more than pain driven ramblings, let alone, I dunno, contractually binding.

Jon: Well, I knew what I was saying well and clear. Just because it was desperate doesn't mean it wasn't sincere. I didn't realize that you weren't as cognizant when you accepted.

Martin, snorting: Yeah, didn't really need to be cognizant to say yes. I've wanted to marry you since the train ride to Scotland.

Jon: Wait, really? Martin, we hadn't even been on a date.

Martin: And yet we were on the lamb together, which I honestly think is more romantic than sitting in some restaurant somewhere trying to get through icebreakers. Also, back up, from your perspective we've been engaged since 2019? What did you think we were doing in the interim?

Jon: Uhh..

Martin: Yes?

Jon: There are people that have long engagement periods, and it's not exactly like we were in any sort of position to get married for awhile. Especially not that first year.

Martin: Okay? And?

Jon: And..I sort of thought you had changed your mind. For awhile. Was rather surprised that you kept living with me, considering that, on the worst nights, I was convinced you were going to storm off and leave me forever any minute now. Hence why your proposal was rather relieving.

Martin: Oh, Jon, love. That is so very ridiculous, and so very you, and so very close to many of my own fears and doubts. Do you have any idea how terrified I was to float the idea of marriage to you? Half the time I was convinced I was just meant to keep you company until you found someone better. And, Christ, we'd, from your perspective, been engaged the whole damn time. Fuck.

[Jon, after a beat, starts laughing. It has a slightly hysterical edge to it. Martin joins in. It takes a minute for the laughter to subside enough for them to speak again.]

Jon: I'm rapidly realizing that our entire romantic relationship would've been, if not more successful, a hell of a lot faster if we weren't both complete fools.

Martin: You're realizing that now? I think I've known that since the CV incident. I've definitely known it since the Lonely.

Jon, with a slightly tired chuckle:Yes, yes, something probably should've tipped me off earlier. Shockingly, observation of our own personal romantic trends is not always a strong suit of mine.

Jon: Anyway, please tell me you have another small wonder, this has gotten wildly of track.

Martin: Since we're talking about marriage anyway, I think my next small wonder is having a shared reference in your wedding vows. Our friends had "I have been, and always shall be, your friend" in theirs, and I made Jon cry with a slightly altered Lord of the Rings quote in ours.

Jon: First off, we were both openly weeping long before that point, secondly, I defy anybody to have been through half of what we have and then have the love of their life look them in the eyes and tell them "Leave you? I never intend to. I am going with you, if you climb to the moon" without at least tearing up.

Martin: There wasn't a dry eye in the audience, either. Granted, the audience was only 20 people, but that was also literally the only time I've seen Eloise show a strong emotion, so I'm pretty smug about it.

Martin, soft: I still feel exactly the same, you know. If you're climbing to the moon, I'll make sure the rope is strong enough for two.

Jon, soft: I know, love.

Jon: Though, to be fair, the moon is also significantly more pleasant than many places we've been.

Martin: God, I hate how much that's true. Look at this barren, oxygenless rock, at least it's not actively trying to kill us. Practically a honeymoon location.

[Martin sighs]

Martin: I am so tired. Let's do the user submissions then take a very long nap.

Jon: Please.

Martin: So, first submission is from Josie; They find it wonderful getting cards from their friends. They say they're lucky to have so much love in their life and have friends that care enough to send them things. That is wonderful Josie! We have a drawer in our house dedicated to every loving card we've ever received since the move, and they're always such a nice reminder of the people in our lives.

Jon: We should really organize that drawer, but, yes, agree with the sentiment. Even the cards from people that are no longer in our lives are lovely, I think. Those connections are very much meaningful for both of us, whether they're active or not.

Martin: That's very true. Next submission is from Lys, who submits the sound of leaves crunching under your feet in the fall. Ah, that's a classic.

Jon: I just felt myself relax imagining it. I wish it was autumn.

Martin: Don't we all? Alright, for the last submissions, I'm grouping them together as they follow a similar theme. Jadwiga submits the feeling of waking up well into the morning with the sun shining through the window and your cat laying next to you, and Oran submits when a dog falls asleep with its head in your lap.

Jon: I can heartily recommend at least one of those, considering that's how we try to wake up most mornings. The Duchess is a dutiful darling girl who spends every night with us, and she's usually still there when us humans rise.

Martin: I bet you'll agree with the other when I finally convince you to get me a dog for my birthday.

Jon: It hasn't happened yet, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Martin: But you don't even dislike dogs! You're just as happy to pet them when they pass by as I am.

Jon: Being fine with an animal isn't the same thing as wanting to adopt one for yourself! We don't even know if The Duchess would put up with a dog.

Martin: I bet she would. I bet we could get a big senior dog who's the calmest animal you've ever met with those soft eyes and a little grey on the muzzle and she would cuddle up in an instant. And we did say we should visit a shelter or three this weekend..

Jon: I think you're rather callously taking advantage of my exhausted state, but I suppose we can look.

Martin: Hell fuckin yeah. So, I think that'll close out the episode, and as we always say at the end, uh, go take a nap and get a dog. Not necessarily in that order.

All the Barbie protagonists I know -from best to worst

I feel like starting with a disclaimer that this is just my opinion, which should be implied. Anyway, this list took forever because I kept switching them. Look I am bad at picking favourites. The top 3 is actually pretty interchangable.

1. Eden Starling (Barbie in a Christmas Carol) - I love her with all my heart and then some. I love her design, her backstory, her personality, how unique she is from every other Barbie on the list. (Whoever came up with Barbie as Scrroge is a genius that deserves an Oscar) The fact that I relate to her in some aspects makes her even more loveable in my eyes. Also I think she deserves #1 spot because out of all the characters on this list she's the one I sorted before even rewatching her movie -and the rewatch confirmed the sorting. She's that memorable!

2. Princess Annika (Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus) - I love her too: her determination,her cleverness, her bravery, her justified anger. The "Destroy Wenlock!" speech alone guaranteed her a place in top 3. The fact that she doesn't back down even in the face of impossible odds - or maybe especially because the odds are impossible, her relationship with Aiden and with Brietta and her passion for ice-skating make her a very interesting character. Annika is a powerhouse and her entire journey is *chef's kiss*.

3. Merliah Summers (Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 1&2) - I think what I love about Merliah is that she put herself first, in both movies. Her first priority was her career as a surfer and only later did she come to accept her role as a mermaid princess. Her relationship with her mother is also great, I love them when they get along and I also love them when they don't - probably my favourite mother-daughter relationship from all the Barbie movies. Merliah's initial skepticism, her putside the box thinking and her competitive streak are delightful. Also her and Kylie might my favourite ship in the Barbieverse.

4. Blair Willows (Barbie Princess Charm School) - A Barbie with actual money problems?! Of course I was soft for Blair from the very begining. Her dedication and love to her adoptive family made her an instant fave. I loved that once Dean Privet helped her with her lessons she did her damn best to graduate from the school. She had her clothes torn, was accused of theft and looked in a safe, yet nothing stopped her.

5. Mariposa (Barbie: Mariposa) - I always had a soft spot for her as a kid. Her desire for adventure -for escape- the way she felt like she didn't quite fit in, her love for books, the somehow-anti-social attitude made her a perfectly relatable character in little!me's eyes. The way she refused to believe the rumors and the stereotypes in the second movie makes her even better. I loved her friendship with Catania and her romance with Carlos was cute too. Also her design might be my second favourite after Eden's.

6. Ro/Princess Rosella (Barbie as The Island Princess) - This movie is a goddamn masterpiece and Ro is a huge part of why. First I cannot help but be impressed by how adaptable she is: not only did she survive on a deserted island for ten years, she thrived. And then she had the courage to leave the only home she knew to go with Antonio and find answers about who she is. My heart ')). Then there is the fact that she risled her own freedom to help save the animals or how she was ready to step back and let Antonio do his duty and marry Luciana despite the fact that she loved him. And the ending wjere she finds her mother and starts singing the lullaby? It is what had cemented my love for this film and this character.

7. Corrine (Barbie in the three Musketeers) - In a lot of ways I find her and Merliah very similar -they both have goals they want to achieve and are somehow selfish because of it in the begining- but I think Corrine is a much kinder person: remember when she got that violin bow for one of the girls as a way to apologize? It felt like such a character establishing moment. I love that she took no shit for anyone, even the prince, and never faltered for one second in her desire to be a musketeer.

8. Princess Genevieve (Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses) - In a lot of ways she reminds me of Blair as she's a quieter personality but forceful in her own way. The way she always stood up for her younger sisters, her love for dancing, her relationship with her father and the fact that she was so heart-eyes when it came to Derek -seriously I don't think any other Babrie was so smitten with her LI from the very first moment- made sure she'll have a place in top 10. The only reason why she's not higher is because I love the others more.

9. Princess Annelisse (Barbie as Princess and the Pauper) - I think my favourite thing about Annelisse is that she completely understood her duties as a princess and was ready to sacrifice her personal happiness for her people. I also really like how she never shied from using her royal status- even if it didn't really work- or how she still tried to help the other taylor with the work when she was thought to be Erica, pity she had zero skill. Her relationship with her mom is my second favourite after Merliah-Calissa. Also collecting rocks is such an unique hobby AND she's a cat girl. Of course I love her.

10. Erika (Barbie as Princess and the Pauper) - Another cat girl! And so snippy and unafraid to be herself. Her dynamic with Annelisse is gold: Erika had all the reasons to despise Annelisse but instead clearly ~bonded with her from the very first moment and went along with an insane plan just to help her. Not to mention, she's the first Barbie who explicitly said "I am gonna fulfill my dreams and have the guy I love; what's this nonsense about choosing only one?" and I have to appreciate her for it.

11. Rapunzel (Barbie as Rapunzel) - The fact alone that she is best friends with a dragon gives her major points in my books. Her love of painting and the way she used it as a literal way of escape? Go, girl! The fact that she refused to let Stefan tell her his name just to make sure Gothel won't find out? Impressive and so spiteful! And the disgust in her voice when she realized Gothel had kept her prisoner for years because her father hadn't married her? Perfect.

12. Kristyn Farraday (Barbie in the Pink Shoes) - I really liked her enthusiasm for getting to actually be the characters she didn't even get to dance in the real world, the way her mind immediately internalized the rules of the fairytale-esque world despite how insane it was and how she refused to conform to the rules. I see the movie as an exploration of Kristyn's creepling fear of failure and the pressure she felt as a proffesional ballet dancer and seeing her come out triumphant on her own terms felt really good.

13. Actress!Barbie (Fashion Fairytale and Fairy Secret) - Probably the most three-dimensional of the "real" Barbies. I think what I like most at her is her determination to save Ken in the second movie. What can I say, I love a Barbie-in-shining-armour. I also like that she knew when to step back and let others do their jobs - in fact she doesn't so much in the first movie, just motivates people. If I had to pick a Barbie to have as a friend, I think she'll be my first choice. She seems like a good listener and someone who knows how to solve problems.

14. Elina (Barbie: Fairytopia 1&2&3) - She is an interesting character and one whose stories I do like, but something never clicked for me when it comes to Elina. Buut, this doesn't mean I don't appreciate her desire to save everyone or how she never drowned in self-pity when she was the only fairy without wings.

15. Clara (Barbie in the Nutcracker)- Clara doesn't get the chance to do much, but I love the glimpses of her intelligence we see (how she figured out the Nutcracker is Eric) or how she longs for adventure and excitment.

16. Thumbelina (Barbie present Thumbelina) - I like that she's an inventor and that she is ready to use Mackena to save her home, but overall I found her unimpressive.

17. Liana (Barbie and the Diamond Castle) - I always had a grudge on her as a child on Alexa's behalf. I always felt like Liana dragged her down. This being said, Liana is still a super smart cookie and very devoted to her friends so she avoids being even lower on the list.

18. Princess Lumina (Barbie: Pearl Princess) - The most memorable things about her are how she loooved having a job and how she refused to condemn the woman that may have raised her but had also kidnapped her from her family. Now both these traits should make her an intriguing character, unfortunately the movie is pretty boring and it never taps into Lumina's potential.

19. Princess Alexa (Barbie and the Secret Door) - Look I relate to her: Lover of books? Check. Desire to escape your life full of rules? Check. Not good with people? Check. But Alexa's development was so weird, the movie was very boring and felt like it had no trajectory and it affected the protagonist a lot.

20. Odette (Barbie in Swan Lake) - She just...doesn't do much. I wish we have seen her more involved in her own story. Not to mention I really didn't understand why she was so afraid of being in the spotlight or how being turned into a swan helped her get over it.

21. Starlight!Barbie (Barbie: Star Light Adventures) - I think my opinion of her -and the whole movie- can be summed up in the world "meh". There is simply no spark of life here.

22. Teen!Barbie (Barbie Diaries) - I have such an overwhelming repulsion towards "unpopular" girls wanting the be popular. Especially since I cannot see what exactly is holding Babrie back from being happy? She seems to have everything (great friends, nice life, good grades and music talent!), but doesn't care about any of it. Not to mention, she's the only Barbie who has to settle for a guy that was pining for her while she only saw him as a friend and I resent that.

Vintage Shows to Watch While You Wait for the Next Episode of WandaVision - The 60s

So the 60s is the era that Wandavision pulls most heavily from for it’s inspiration. So much so that one could make the argument that each of the first three episodes are all set in the 1960s. Episode one pulls from the early 60s with multiple Dick Van Dyke refences, episode two is very Bewitched inspired, and episode three is aesthetically very similar to The Brady Bunch which started in ‘69. As such it was hard to narrow down the list for this decade and I had to get creative in some ways.

1. The Andy Griffith Show (1960 - 1968)

The Andy Griffith Show gets kind of a bad rap now a days for being, supposedly, a conservative’s wet dream. People claiming it as such have apparently never actually seen the series. Oh yes, it’s very much set in white rural 60s America and will occasionally present the obliviously outdated joke, but the story of a widowed sheriff being the only sane man in a small town full of lovable lunatics, who prefers to solve his and others problems with negotiation and hair brained schemes as opposed to violence has far more in common with modern day Steven Universe than whatever genocidal fantasy fake rednecks have in their heads.

As the gif above shows Andy Griffith was very subtlety progressive for its time. Andy was a stanch pacifist, pro-gun control, treated drug addicts and prisoners with respect, and all the women he would date had careers, ect. and so on. It’s not a satire making any sort of grand political statements but the series had a moral center that was far more left than many realize.

But if it’s not a satire, then what type of comedy is it?

The Andy Griffith Show excels in what I like to call, ‘awkward comedy’. See everyone in Mayberry is far too nice to just come out and tell a character they’re making an ass of themselves, so therefore whoever is the idiot punching bag of the episode’s focus must slowly unravel as everyone looks on in helpless pity until said character realizes the folly of their ways and the townsfolk come together to make them feel happy and accepted once more. Wandavision takes this polite idyllic awkwardness and plays it up for horror instead of laughs.

2. The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961 - 1966)

The creators of Wandavision actually met with Dick Van Dyke himself to pick his brain and learn how sitcoms were made back then. Paul Bentley also took inspiration from Van Dyke in his performance of the sitcom version of Vision, while Olsen stated Mary Tylor Moore had a heavy influence on her character of Wanda. But more than just being a point of homage, The Dick Van Dyke Show was hugely influential in modernizing the family sitcom and breaking a lot of the unspoken traditions and ‘rules’ of the 50s television era. It’s also just really, really funny.

3.The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1962 - 1965)

Bit of a cheat here. Alfred Hitchcock Presents actually started in 1955 as a half hour anthology show, but in ‘62 the show got a revamp and was extended into a full hour tv series. I knew I wanted The Twilight Zone to be covered in my episode one recap, but ‘The Master of Suspense’ couldn’t be forgotten. While The Twilight Zone reveled in the surreal and supernatural, Alfred Hitchcock pioneered the thriller genre and made real life seem dangerous, horrifying, and other worldly.

4. Doctor Who (1963 - present day) vs Star Trek (1966 - present day)

Just like how westerns dominated the air waves during the 50s, science fiction was the center of the cultural zeitgeist of the 60s. From Lost in Space to My Favorite Martian, space aliens and robots were everywhere. So naturally I had to name drop the two sci-fi juggernauts that still air to this today. If you thought that the rivalry between Star Wars and Star Trek was bad then you’ve never seen a chat full of Whovians and Trekkies duking it out over who is the better monster, the Borg or the Cyberman. But which one has the more influence over Wandavision?

Well Star Trek owes it’s existence to sitcoms. As with The Twilight Zone before it, Star Trek was produced by Desilu Productions and it’s co-founder and CEO, Lucille Ball, was the series biggest supporter behind the scenes, lobbying for it when it faced early cancelation. As with all things sitcomy, everything ties back to I Love Lucy in the end. However despite that little backstory, it would seem that the series has very little to do with Wandavision itself beyond being quintessentially American.

I would argue that Wandavision owes much to Doctor Who though. Arguably more so than any show mentioned in this retrospective. Time travel, alternate realities, trouble in quite suburbia, brainwashing, people coming back from the dead, ect... just about every trope you can find in Wandavision has also appeared in Doctor Who at some point. As a series that can go anywhere and do anything, Doctor Who was a pioneer of marrying genres in new and interesting ways.

5. Bewitched (1964 - 1972) and I Dream of Jeannie (1965 - 1970)

It’s hard to pick one series over another because they’re essentially the same show. A mortal man falls in love with a magical girl who upends their lives with magic filled hijinks as they try their best not to have their secret discovered by the rest of the world. And both have their fingerprints all over the DNA of Wandavision.

There’s only two core differences; Samantha and Jeannie have completely different personalities, with Sam being confident and knowledgeable and Jeannie being naïve and oblivious, along with their relationships with their respective men, Sam and Darrin being married and in love at the start of the series and Jeannie chasing after Tony in the beginning in a will they/won’t they affair, finally only getting together in the last season.

6. The Munsters (1964 - 1966) vs The Adams Family (1964 - 1966)

Fans of these two shows are forever sadden that there never was a crossover between them. Because they’d fit perfectly together. Both shows are about a surreal and macabre family living in American suburbia and disrupting the lives of their neighbors with their otherworldly hijinks. Sound familiar?

The main difference between the two shows is the way the characters viewed their placement in the world they inhabit.

The Munsters were always oblivious to the fact that didn’t fit in. They just automatically assumed everyone had the same personal tastes as them. Whenever they encountered anyone who behaved strangely around them they would write that person off as being the odd one rather than questioning themselves. As such the main cast was structured like a stereotypical sitcom family who just happened to be classic movie monsters.

The Addams were well aware that they were abnormal and they loved it! They lived life with in their own little world and didn’t care what anyone thought of them. As such the characters were far more colorful and quirky as individuals but there was little in the way of refences to other horror franchises beyond just a general love of the twisted and strange.

7. Green Acres (1965 - 1971) and the Rual-verse (1962 - 1971)

So the MCU is not the first franchise to bring viewers an interconnected universe to the small screen. Far from it, as sitcoms had been doing this for decades, starting with the ‘rualverse’. Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, and Green Acres were all produced by the same company and were treated as spinoffs of each other, complete with crossovers and shared characters and sets.

Of the three, the last show, Green Acres, has the most in common with Wandavision. A well to do businessman and his lovely socialite wife settle down in small town America on a farm in order to get away from the stresses of city life, only to find new stresses in the country. Eva Gabor, herself a natural Hungarian, plays the character of Lisa as Hungarian making her one of the few non-native born Americans on tv screens during the cold war. Despite her posh nature and original protests to the move, Lisa assimilates to the rural life far easier than her husband, Oliver. Who, as the main comedic thread, can’t comprehend his new quirky neighbors’ odd and often illogical behavior.

8. Hogan’s Heroes (1965 - 1971) and Get Smart (1965 - 1969)

So as comic fans have been quick to point out, it’s looking like both A.I.M. (Hydra) and Sword (Shield) will be players in the story of Wandavision. To commemorate that here’s two shows to represent those opposing sides. Although in truth, neither series has anything else in common with each other but I need to condense things down someway.

In Hydra’s corner we got Hogan’s Heroes. A show all about taking down Nazis from within.

I love, love, love, ‘robin hood’ comedies where a group of con artists try week after to week to pull one over the establishment. The Phil Silvers Show, Mchale's Navy, and Top Cat, just to name a few examples are all childhood favorites of mine. However while those shows had a lot of morally ambiguous characters, Hogan’s Heroes has very clear cut good guys and bad guys, cause the bad guys are Nazis and the show relentless makes fun of the third reich as should we all. In fact I was watching Hogan’s Heroes while waiting for the GA run off election results. Fortunately my home state decided to kick out our own brand of Nazis this year.

For Shield, we got the ultimate spy spoof, Get Smart. Starring, Inspector Gadget himself, Don Adams, as the bumbling Maxwell Smart. Get Smart, is a hilarious send up of Cold War espionage but the real selling point of the show, imho, is Max and his co-worker 99′s relationship. You can cut the sexual tension in the air with a knife all while laughing your ass off.

9. Batman (1966 - 1968)

First was Superman and then came Batman. Yet while Superman was a serious action show, Batman was a straight up comedy. Showcasing that superheroes could indeed be funny.

Also shout out for Batman being the only show on this list to have an actual crossover with it’s competitor, The Green Hornet.

10. Julia (1968 - 1971)

Since episode two features the first appearances of Herb and Monica, let’s highlight the first black led sitcom since the cancelation of Amos ‘n Andy over a decade earlier. The show focuses on single mother and military nurse, Julia, as she tries to live her life without her recently decease husband, who was killed in Vietnam, as she tries to raise their six year old son on her own.

The series is cute. It’s more of a throw back to earlier family sitcoms where there’s no fantasy and life lessons are the name of the game. It’s the fact that the main character is a single black woman is what made the show so subversive and important at the time.

Runner Ups

There’s much good stuff in the 60s, so here’s some others that didn’t make the cut but I would recommend anyways.

Car 54, Where Are You? (1961 - 1963)

I call this the Brooklynn 99 of the 1960s. Bumbling but well meaning Officer Toody longs to do good in the world and help anyone in need, but often screws things up with his ill thought out schemes. He often drags his best friend and partner, the competent but anxiety riddled, Muldoon into his escapades.

Mr. Ed (1961 - 1966)

The grandfather of the sarcastic talking pet trope.

The Jetsons (1962 - 1963 and 1985 - 1987)

Hanna-Barbera often took popular sitcoms and just repackaged them as cartoons with a fantasy theme to them. The Jetsons has no singular show that it rips-off but is rather more a grab bag of sitcom tropes that feature, robots, computers, and flying cars.

The Outer Limits (1963 - 1965)

The Outer Limits was The Twilight Zone’s biggest competitor in terms of being a sic-fi/horror anthology series.

Gillian’s Island (1964 - 1967)

The only comparison to WandaVision I could think of was that this is a sitcom about people being trapped in one place. But by that point I was running out of room on the list. Still it’s one of the funniest shows on here.

So yeah, this took longer than expected cause there’s a lot, here. Hopefully the 70s will be easier. Which I’ll post on Friday.

A Character Thing

So, I’ve done six rewatches now and I’ve been doing a bit of writing about the characters I’ve followed. I came up with a sort of character-building exercise that develops the backstories and relationships I’ve headcanoned for the six characters I’ve done rewatches for.

If You Asked the Cats Which Cat Was the Most Important to Them:

Mistoffelees, after being reassured that there’s no wrong answer, would probably say Munkustrap, because he takes care of everybody and tells the other cats not to bully him when he messes something up. Also, though Misto would never say a bad word about Bustopher, Munkustrap was the one who stepped in to look after Misto when his father decided that he couldn’t leave or adapt his lifestyle to raising a kitten. Munkustrap introduced Misto to the other Jellicles, made sure he had a good home, and guilt-tripped Bustopher into visiting regularly.

Demeter would have difficulty choosing between Bombalurina and Munkustrap, but she’d eventually go with the former. They’ve always been inseparable. Bomba has a way of always seeming confident, while Demeter rarely ever is, so she looks to her big sister for guidance. Their mother paid little attention to them, so Bomba, as the firstborn of the two, sort of took on a parental role with Demeter.

Jemima, after listing what was special about every single cat she knows, would choose Skimbleshanks. Her biological father (Macavity) was never around and her mother (Demeter, traumatized by Macavity) tends to avoid her, for some reason (said trauma), so Skimble, father to all abandoned kittens, basically adopted her and raised her himself. He’s practically a superhero to her. He makes the trains go, he helps Munkustrap defend the tribe, and he gives nice hugs.

Munkustrap would be offended about being asked to play favorites with his tribe, but if you insisted, he’d say Old Deuteronomy. He’s always trying to live up to his father’s legacy and felt like he never really had a chance to be a kitten, not noticing that Old Deuteronomy would’ve allowed him to be a kitten if he hadn’t insisted on growing up fast to live up to his legacy. They really need to have a talk about this.

Tugger, being independent, would have to think about it for a while. After giving it some thought, he’d realize that the answer is Mistoffelees. He’s always been in awe of his magic and skill as a dancer. As a small, black and white cat who’s a great dancer, Misto fits the description of the original Jellicle cats perfectly and Tugger will go on and on about how Misto is perfect and smart and graceful and adorable and could totally beat up Macavity with his powers. He’ll be a bit embarrassed about it later.

Rumpleteazer would name Mungojerrie without even a second of thought. The twins are rarely ever apart from one another and Jerrie tends to be the leader when they’re out causing trouble. She felt betrayed when she found out that he was working for Macavity without her. He said that it was too dangerous, but anything too dangerous for her should be too dangerous for him, too. He says that Macavity’s worse with queens than he is with toms, but he won’t explain why. But, Teazer’s pestering led to him leaving Macavity and all is well again.

Basically, almost everyone who pick whichever cat raised them or was raised with them, except for Tugger.

Ranking of Kings appreciation and the amount of tears I can shockingly produce per episode

Not to scare you note: This anime will emotionally beat you up, heal you, make you happy and feel safe, and then beat you up again.

Ranking of Kings (王様ランキング, Ōsama Rankingu) is an on-going anime that I watched after seeing the review of The Prout Brothers on YouTube. Thanks to them, I was able to witness its glory not too late and board the hype train. Ranking of Kings is a shounen fantasy story that tackles about a courageous young prince named, Bojji. Because of preconceived notions around his deafness and lack of physical prowess, he must overcome a world that fails to see his worth. The animation is *chef kiss* beautiful, they remind me of kid’s book illustrations which effectively captivates the audience of all ages. They are now my icon and if I had a kid, I’d let them watch this instead of i-don’t-want-to-mention-kids-shows-today. I can guarantee its understandability, due to their body languages, how their vocal expression changes, facial expressions, great backstories, and their simple dialogues. It didn’t even make me look back 10 seconds ago and stare what they just said out of confusion. I understood them well and kept watching without any skips which I shamefully do to most of the animes I used to follow. I can’t. They are too good that I am starting to run out of words to type and I need them to reach specifically at 750- help.

Okay let's talk about the opening and ending songs they used for the whole 21 episodes available right now

They are absolutely gorgeous. They deserve a cat.

The first opening tells you the beginning of Bojji’s story, that feeling which is lively and comparable to a ball of sunshine. The OP would bring you in a good mood as if were still 7 and watching this on Sunday morning with a bowl of cereal on your lap. It is like a fresh breeze of air that rarely comes across your face, you relax with it. The music will make you think that this is a happy light-hearted adventure tale with no eye fluids secreting scenes out of nowhere. Be prepared. The ED is a lullaby with lyrics I would cry for, I haven’t look at them until now and they trigger what I need in my life- a companion for life. Let me quote that, “If you’re weak, let me show you my weakness too. And if you pretend you’re strong, I’ll hold your weakness in my arms”. But I am mad because I just realized how their names were a pun, anagrams and homophones, for example, Hilling and Healing, Desha and Hades, then Bojji and Bocchi (which meant lonely). They are too brilliant this should be illegal.

And I am not done yet, we still have OP2 and ED2 to talk about. Hadaka no Yuusha by Vaundy is what made Ranking of Kings- ANIME. The transitions of the animation fit perfectly to the song, the sudden surge of power to every nerve of your body, on how the events have turned and how mysteries began to unfold. I am dumbfounded. At this point, I am telling you to give this a try and be one of us. Me trying not to make it sound like a cult. Lastly, Flare by millet is the song that screams “This is it! The character is overcoming his hardships, we are nearing to our ending!” I think it’s the parade like instruments in the background which gave it off. It’s like a celebration, a coming-of-age party, something that we should be anticipating.

Enough fangirling to songs, the biggest feat in this blog is the storyline of Ranking of Kings. But first, as to the amount of tears I produced per episode, I would say, generous. A generous amount of tears had been shed where I thought would only last for the first 2 episodes but was wrong. Dead wrong. I cried every other episode, and I am tired of it but not for the show. I watched them non-stop, one after another because it is so interesting! And I can’t do anything how to stop those persistent tears because they kept reminding me how helpless I am although not mute or deaf like Bojji. Hey, I did not expect the plot and the characters are beautifully written and portrayed. Its hate-love kind of thing, you’ll hate them first then love them that it stresses you out.

I love their backstories and how a person can change so much by the environment they live in. I witnessed how some people can be selfish for their beliefs, for what they think is right, and for someone they treasure dearly. Ranking of Kings depicted what humanity is, how beautiful and cruel, kind and vindictive, tenacious and pathetic we can be. It is a hell of a ride, a rollercoaster of emotions. The story clearly did not only focus to Bojji, but to everyone he came across with- they are as important as him and had their own share of struggles in life. This is what made me fall in love and appreciate the series so much. They do not feel rushed and is so sincere for the viewers. Look, Bojji came from a giant’s family and because of circumstances, he is small and physically weak. He can’t even carry a hand size of a stone and made the people constantly worry for him. Yet, he was able to overcome all of those despite the disadvantages- and every time he feels overwhelmed, he had someone by his side to encourage and toughen him up. I think I should stop before I ended up spoiling the series. *sad noises*

Anyways, thank you for reading. I can't believe you made it this far with me confusing the heck out of you (weak English and explanation skills), I will be leaving a piece of statement I found while scrolling the comment section on YouTube…

MK Chinese Zodiac HC’s

MK was born in 2004, the Year of the Wood Monkey. Sun Wukong was born a Gold Monkey, which still makes MK happy since he idolizes the Monkey King so much. Monkeys are clever, witty, humorous, sociable, brave, active and kind to others, which sums up MK and Sun perfectly to me. Wood Monkeys are supposed to be hardworking, responsible and have a strong sense of teamwork. MK fits 2 out of 3 of those points, but I believe once he fully figures out how to focus he’ll become even more responsible as he matures into the role of the Monkie Kid—later Monkie/Monkey King.

Mei was born in 2003, the Year of the Water Goat, making her one year older than MK, but just as goofy and energetic as him. The reason I picked that is because, according to the Chinese Zodiac, goats and monkeys are complimentary to each other, making them very good friends. Plus a goat still kinda looks like a dragon with the horns, and I was tempted to make Mei a dragon but I didn’t want the age gap between her and MK to be so broad. One year apart was good enough for me.

Red Son was born in the Year of the Ox, centuries ago. Oxs are hardworking, determined and logical people do have a tendency of being overly cautious and bad at social interactions, which fits Red to a T. I made him an ox because, his dad is the Demon Bull King (duh) and oxs make a great match for monkeys. X3 (Also one of a flower for oxs is apparently Peach Blossoms and I can totally see MK picking some from Sun’s Immortal Peach Tree and giving them to Red and that would be super adorable) ^-^

Tang was born the year 1987, the year of the Fire Rabbit. Rabbits are known to be studious, decent, elegant people who love their freedom, but also know how to set goals for themselves when needed. They are also least likely to be fooled by others, which makes sense for Tang since he was very suspicious of the Spider Queen as soon as he met her. They get along well with Monkeys so that’s part of the reason he and MK are good friends …. and one of the best romantic matches for a Rabbit happens to be a Pig…sy. XD

Yeah, Pigsy was born the year of the Pig ‘cause I’m totally unoriginal. He was born in 1983, making him the Water Pig. He obviously has a bigger temper than most pigs, but is still talented, ambitious and serious as other Water Pigs.

Sandy was born in 1986, the year of the Fire Tiger (ironic since in my hc, he has a slight phobia to fire, hence the reason he lives on a boat). Fire Tigers are said to be optimistic, determined workers and never give up on the task at hand. I can easily see that he was once a short-tempered badass in his backstory with Pigsy, but gave that up for a number of reasons before adopting the calm lifestyle he has now. And adopting a literal boat-load of cats that all have stripes like Mo, because tigers. XD

BDK was born the year of the Ox (obviously) and PIF was the Year of the Snake, due to her determined, graceful and wise disposition, but also is known to get jealous easily and definitely doesn’t like the idea of her husband being near other pretty demon ladies.

6-Eared Macaque is a Water Monkey. They are known for being very smart, very quick-witted, haughty and like being paid attention to. Naturally this means Macaque hates not having people pay attention to him and uses his ‘quicky-wits’ to manipulate others into listening to him.

The Spider Queen is a Rat (in every sense of the word). She is sharp, smart, dexterous (with her silk) thinks well on the spot, but can become cowardly after realizing she is no match for a stronger opponent. She likes to pick off her prey one by one so not to take them all at once. She is a Water Rat as they tend to be more self-centered, talkative and shrewd.

Yin and Jin are both horses, but born in different years. Ironically Yin is the Gold/Metal Horse while Jin is the Wood Horse. They both love being in the spotlight and thus take any opportunity to be in the center of attention in large crowds while showing some creative imaginations. They’re pretty decent at using cunning to get what they want, but aren’t smart enough to think their plans through. They also suffer from a slight lack of self-confidence, but pretend they don’t have it.

1/Favorite character- Genuinely hard to choose, as all of the mains were well-developed/treated with such care by the production team. I’d have to say I identified the most with Kurosawa, in that I was raised in an environment where I was expected to be perfect at all times and after a while the facade became my personality. (still trying to unlearn those behaviors, and I’ve been out of an office for twenty years now)

2/Character you related to the most- ^^^

3/Favorite quote- Adachi’s quote from the end of episode 7. When it first aired I burst into tears the second I read it onscreen. It’s definitely something I want tattooed on me at some point. (I prefer Mich’s subs, such a wonderful flow to them)

(and because I embrace my clichés, this quote will fit perfectly next to my ‘enjoy the silence’ tattoo 😎)

4/Favorite moment in the show- the way Adachi lays his head down in exasperation here makes me laugh myself cross-eyed every single time:

5/A character you think is underrated- Again, a hard choice because all the mains were treated so fairly. If anything, I would’ve loved to see a bit more interaction between Kurosawa and his sis, as their dynamic was amusing to watch and I enjoyed her steamrolling through like only a sibling can XD

6/Which character would you absolutely be friends with- I wanna hang out with Rokkaku whenever I’m hypomanic XD During my down cycles tho, I’d pop a few benadryl (allergic to cats) and just chill on Tsuge’s couch.

7/The moment that you fell in love with the show- Adachi greeting the carpet face-first in the office. As a fellow klutz, I appreciated the rep right out the gate.

8/ Top so-soft-it-might-be-illegal moment- the tenderness, and thoughtfulness of the proposal is so soft it’s downright overwhelming. For Kurosawa to understand Adachi so well, and for Adachi to realize he’s been THAT understood by another person? WHEW.

9/Favorite hands-are-for-the-gays moment- Scarf scene, of course.

10/Favorite Kurosawa making heart eyes moment- His heart eyes are always legendary, but bluescreen Kurosawa reigns supreme for me:

SAME, KUROSAWA, SAME.

11/Favorite Adachi x Kurosawa moment- Adachi accepting the proposal, getting choked up, and then Kurosawa being all smiles and teary-eyed immediately after. It’s so natural, so intimate. Oh, my heart.

12/Favorite friendship moment- Adachi and Tsuge in ep 8, Adachi being so earnest about his feelings in order to not only put Tsuge at ease, but to help bolster him to try again? BEST FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13/Favorite overall episode- Ep 7. Good backstory scenes, and of course, it’s where my favorite quote is introduced. It’s such a great midway ep of the series, those eps can make or break the rest of a run, so I’m so pleased with how it unfolded.

14/Top LMAO moment- Any time Tsuge does his Roadrunner impression 🤣

15/A moment you could live without- Bossman and his cake superstition. He’s the only character/scene I have to skim through. (hard to explain, but his temper tantrum reminds me a bit of my late mother, eesh)

16/ One thing you’d change about the show- I can’t say I’d change anything, really. Every minute serves a purpose to the story, and that’s not something you can say about a lot of shows these days. There’s a specific kind of art to telling a story like this in a caring yet economical way, and in my opinion they succeeded with flying colors. Easy to follow, but never patronizing. And every rewatch yields new layers. What a gift to be given during such a hard, traumatizing year for everyone.

17/ Someone you got to know because of the show or someone whose posts/works you enjoyed seeing in the tags- Oh my, quite a few folks. And got some of my longtime friends to watch as well thanks to the many beautiful gifsets that had been made over the course of the past year so thank you all!

Hello! This one is gonna be so cute! Another one for Kiri and Tetsu again. This time separate. What if they had a crush on a girl in their class who has a cat quirk. The class decides to have a movie night. And about half way through their crush falls asleep on them. And they discover something. She quietly purrs when she sleeps. After the movie they wake her so everyone can go to bed. She’s in their lap by then, carefully moved. And they finally confess to her. She happily accepts of course. 😍

Let’s rewind it - Kirishima x reader

“How can (Y/N) be so cute...?“

“Hm? Did you say something?“

Kaminari looked at his red-haired friend who seemingly just noticed that he had spoken his thoughts aloud. Instead of answering him, Kirishima just shook his head and tried to hide his blushing cheeks from his friends’ curious gazes.

No matter how much he tried to twist and turn his words, it was very obvious that he had feelings for you.

Kirishima always fought with himself when it came to the question of whether he’d confess. For him the thought of a boy being honest about his feelings was the manliest thing there ever was, but the possibility of you rejecting and avoiding him in the process was a much greater risk he wasn’t ready to take.

But what he didn’t know was that you actually felt the same way about him. Sadly you were stuck with the thought that he only saw you as a friend and nothing more.

Having Kirishima on one side who was too afraid of losing you and having you on the other side who constantly labeled herself as nothing more but a friend was at first quite the amusing sight for your classmates, but now it was just sad seeing such bubbly personalities beat themselves up over nothing.

And that’s why they came up with the movie night.

Your friends forced you to sit next to your crush which made you more anxious than embarrassed. The reason behind your anxiety was your quirk which resembled Tsuyu’s in a way – to put it bluntly, she was a frog and you were a cat.

The sole problem with your quirk was that whenever you got too excited you’d slightly lose control over it which resulted in happy tail wiggling. So all in all you were afraid that you (or better said your tail) would end up showing and disturbing Kirishima.

You wanted to escape, but thanks to your classmates who were pretty much pushing you further towards your crush there was no escape...

“Yes punch him that’s what he deserves!“

The moment you put on the movie it was as if your worries never existed in the first place. Your whole class was watching an action movie, ate some snacks and overall had a good time.

But soon your enthusiasm started to take a toll on your body. Your eyelids grew heavy, the times you yawned increased and before you even started to nod off a few times.

Of course the people who sat beside you noticed and Mina (as the good friend she was) gently pushed you towards Kirishima so that you could fall asleep on his shoulder and not hers.

The moment your head touched his shoulder he almost had a heart attack. At first he thought that you were still awake, but hearing your deep breaths proved him otherwise.

Kirishima’s concentration was now fully on you. He figured that this would be a one time chance so not savoring it would be his biggest mistake.

The boy began noticing small things about you which he would never have outside of this situation. The length and form of your lashes fitted you just right, the perfectly formed nose, the beautiful lips ...

Every single facial feature of yours was perfect in his eyes, but there was one unexpected thing that made him blush the moment he had heard it.

She’s...purring in her sleep...?

Considering your quirk it shouldn’t have been such a big surprise, but the fact that you (his crush) were so comfortable in his presence that you’d even purr was the happiest moment in his entire life.

That was at least until you almost fell off his shoulder. Luckily Kirishima caught you before your sleeping form even had the chance to collide with his muscular thighs and wake you up in the process. He ended up gently laying your head down on his lap instead, earning himself a silent whistle from Kaminari.

He enjoyed the situation he was in of course, but the fact that the movie was slowly coming to an end made him so unbelievably sad. Waking you up and explaining the situation was something he wasn’t looking forward to, Kirishima wanted to stay like that instead.

“Kirishima, we’re leaving (Y/N)-chan in your hands!”

“What..? B-But wait I-“

“Ha, that’s on you shitty hair!”

As soon as the credits started rolling the whole class got up and abandoned Kirishima, hoping that at least now one of you would finally make the first step.

He was finally alone with you and thinking that he’d have to wake you from your peaceful nap hurt him more than the thought of having to explain the situation to you. Having your head resting on his thighs while you purred softly with each breath, had his heart beating hard against his chest.

Kirishima needed a while until he decided upon a method to wake you up.

He placed his big hand on top of your head and gently began caressing it while whispering out your name as soft as he possibly could.

“Hey (Y/N)...wake up...please”

After a few gentle strokes you were awake and terribly confused. The movie’s credits were rolling from the right to the left, your head was resting on something firm but soft at the same time while a big hand was resting on your head.

It took you some seconds to realize what was going on and when you did, you almost head-butted him.

“K-Kirishima! I’m so s-sorry for falling asleep on your lap, i-it must’ve been quite uncomfortable, right..?”

The boy looked at you but didn’t listen to any of your apologies, instead he just took your hands in his own and looked deep into your eyes.

Not confessing to you out of embarrassment and slight fear was one thing, but watching you degrade yourself thinking so negatively was another thing. He decided that hating him would be better than you hating yourself.

“(Y/N), stop it. Don’t you dare apologize for something like that. I didn’t mind it at all and if you ask me...I have never been more comfortable in my entire life. In fact...I wouldn’t mind if things like that started happening more often.”

The moment he said that it took you some time to comprehend what was hidden behind those words.

“K-Kirishima...do you li-“

“I have a crush on you (Y/N)! I’ve always had one, but..I was too afraid to tell you. Too afraid of my feelings ruining our friendship.”

The silence that followed was torture for him and it sadly made his fears multiply by each passing second. You on the other hand were simply in disbelief that the person whom you’ve had a crush on for so long felt the same way about you.

“I’m sorry, maybe this wasn’t the right time and judging by your reaction...I-I shouldn’t be expecting an answer.”

Kirishima slowly got up and began walking away in shame while you started panicking internally. There was no way in hell you’d let him walk away after finding out that he felt the same way about you, but how could you stop him..?

The red haired boy had almost reached the staircase when he suddenly heard the iconic starting sequence of the movie you had just watched.

He slowly turned his head and now it was you who looked into his eyes.

You were holding the remote control so tight that your knuckles were slowly turning white, the blush on your face had almost become as red as his hair, the TV behind you was now replaying the movie and you would’ve never expected yourself to say the next thing you just said.

“Since both of us apparently would like moments like these to appear more often...let’s rewind it.“

I like you too - Tetsutetsu x reader

Being the class after the famous class 1-A was hard. You guys were constantly standing in their shadow so of course the urge to compete was greater than anything else.

Some of your classmates attempted to surpass a certain person and some attempted to even take on the whole class, but you were neither.

Your focus was lying somewhere else entirely.

Since some months ago you actually fell in love with your classmate Tetsutetsu. The reason behind your crush was actually quite the simple one.

Your homeroom teacher Vlad King had asked you to bring him some documents after class had ended.

In your enthusiasm, you completely overestimated yourself and went ahead carrying the heavy stacks of paper on your own, soon enough though your body began signalizing you that it had reached its limit. Stubborn little you on the other hand just continued moving on until your legs gave out beneath you and you almost fell face flat on the floor...almost.

“Hey (Y/N), you ok?”

You immediately recognized the deep voice that was calling out to you, so you looked up to confirm your suspicions...and they were right.

The person who had caught you and shielded you from a nasty fall was none other than Tetsutetsu.

Embarrassed by the whole situation you began stuttering countless ‘thank you’s and ‘sorry’s to the silver-haired boy who awkwardly nodded a few times.

When you attempted to resume your walk to the teachers’ lounge though that’s when he blocked your path.

“Don’t tell me you intend to continue carrying these papers on your own...”

Before you could even protest or ask what he meant by that, Tetsu just went ahead and took almost all of them as he started to walk towards the teachers’ lounge.

Since then whenever you needed help with something he’d be the first one to help you out or ask if you were going to be alright on your own.

And that’s basically the backstory to it...

“Come on (Y/N) are you even listening to me?”, Kendo asked you silently as she gently nudged your side, her action causing you to jump a little in the process.

“S-Sorry I got distracted for a second, could you perhaps run this by my one more time..?”, you asked with the sweetest tone you could muster.

She let out a tired sigh and pointed towards the TV.

“I asked which team you think is going to win the fight.”

What team..? And what fight?

You were completely overwhelmed by her simple question so you tried to access the situation you were in right now as calmly and undetected as you possibly could.

When you saw your precious classmates all chilling and eating different snacks while all of their gazes rested on your shared dorm TV it immediately clicked for you.

Class 1-B had finally surpassed class 1-A and even if it was a simple maths test, your whole class had celebrated it as if it was some kind of festive holiday. After countless votings you guys decided to organize a movie night.

Upon directing your whole attention to the TV once more, you finally realized that you’ve already seen that movie.

No wonder I was daydreaming…

With a barely audible sigh, you leaned back on the couch and relaxed.

Tetsutetsu was so engrossed with the movie that the moment something plopped down on his shoulder he almost threw the bowl of popcorn he was holding on to.

That sudden scare immediately pissed him off.

“Ok, so what the hell do yo-”

His words got stuck in his throat the instant he saw who actually scared him that badly.

Right now he was facing your peacefully sleeping face, but that wasn’t all.

“A-Are you...purring?”, he whispered as silently as he possibly could - afraid that he’d wake you and expose that cute fact he had just found out about you.

Much to his dismay your friend Kendo had also noticed that you were sleeping and had glared at him while whispering the words ‘if you wake her, I’ll kill you’.

After that threat, he made sure that whatever he did, it would be as if he was walking on eggshells.

At first, Tetsu wanted to move you aside, but the sight of you just sleeping and cutely purring away was tearing at his heartstrings.

Thanks to you he just couldn’t concentrate on the last quarter of the movie, the boy was glancing back and forth between your sleeping form and the TV.

And then finally..

The credits!

The silver-haired boy was so excited about the end of the movie that he forgot about you for a moment and let his shoulder slip. Luckily his reflexes were quick enough and he caught you just before your head hit his firm thighs. Moving you back up would be too risky for him so the only way right now, was to let your head rest on his legs.

When all of his classmates began standing up and leaving, he began panicking.

“Hey! Why are you guys leaving me alone? Won’t anyone help me move her, or at least wake her up?!”

His question wasn’t as loud as he’d intended it to be (thanks to Kendo’s warning from before), but even she was as uncooperative as all the others despite being your friend and that surprised him.

In a matter of seconds the two of you were left behind.

Alone…..finally.

You see, Tetsutetsu wasn’t the type of guy who’d show his feelings, especially when he was uncertain if the person opposite of him shared them as well.

That’s how he was with you.

He may be a slight tsundere, but he wasn’t stupid. Tetsutetsu had noticed the slight change in behavior every time he offered you his help or even went up to talk to you. That boy knew that you at least felt something when you were around him and even if he was too embarrassed to say it out loud, Tetsu still couldn’t betray his heart.

“Y’know (Y/N)...that day I helped you with the books wasn’t a coincidence.”

His words were silent. A barely audible whisper. Meant just for your ears and your ears only.

“It may sound funny to you, but...the way you stubbornly challenged your body to keep on moving made me realize, just how strong you actually are.”

His big hand ran through your hair. The touch of his fingers, gentle.

“I’ve noticed the small glances you give me when we’re in class and you just don’t know how many times I’ve actually wanted to return them. Return them with the same affectionate but gentle demeanor as yours.”

One of his fingers brushed a strand of your hair behind your ear.

“Hey…(Y/N)...?”

He remains motionless, making sure that you’re still asleep as Tetsu then slowly bends down.

“...I like you”

The boy straightens himself back up slowly in order to make sure that there was nobody in the vicinity that could’ve heard or seen that. Unfortunately, he completely missed the small smile on your lips.

“I like you too.”

10. a kiss on the top of the head

She played with the band on his wrist as they stood side stage and watched Quinn XCII finish up his set at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Their group of friends randomly singing along, bopping their heads to the beat and enjoying a concert.

Her head was resting on Sam’s shoulder, she felt tired from her anxiety, “Tovi, this is your thirty minute warning.” (pronounced toe-vee)

She let out a groan, purely out of anticipation and the breath she had unknowingly been holding. “You good?”

“I’ll be fine.” She said it to him as much as she did to herself. “You stay here.”

“I’ll come with--

“You’re good.” She let go of his hands and blew him a kiss as she walked further backstage.

She double checked the tie on her shorts after she changed, she double knotted the worn-in Doc Marten’s on her feet, adjusted her mic pack in her pocket and pushed her in-ears half way in.

A full-length mirror stood before her and she touched up her nude lipstick, added a bit more of her favorite highlighter and ran her fingers through her hair.

It wasn’t Tovi’s first show but it was her biggest show. It was the first time she would be performing a few songs and she didn’t know how the crowd of (what could be) 20,000 people would react.

Her girlfriends had been with her all week going over dance moves, picking out outfits for each other and most importantly: being her friend and promising her everything would go right.

Her boyfriend, Sam, had flown to Chicago for just over 48 hours to see her perform before he had to head back to set. A few of his friends had flown from Australia to see him and catch some of their favorite music together. It was all a plus that his girlfriend was a headliner and could get them all ARTIST wristbands.

She made her way back to the group that sang along to the last song. With no warning she hugged Sam, so small she fit perfectly under his chin and her arms met around his back. He could feel her shaking from her nerves.

“Come ‘ere.” He kept hugging her and walked backwards, “Come on.”

Tovi giggled against his chest as he guided them to a slightly empty part of the backstage area that was now bustling with commotion as Quinn’s set had ended.

Sam grabbed her shoulders and pushed her back a bit, “First of all, you look...” He spun her around, “Ace.”

She laughed at his slang as she always did, “Thanks.”

“Second, you’re gunna kill it.”

“Hopefully.”

“No...not hopefully.” He pulled her in to a hug, resting his chin on the top of her had, “You are gunna kill it.”

Her reply wasn’t vocal, it was a tight squeeze around them and her still shakey hands and arms. She kept close to him but pulled one arm back to put an in-ear in completely to listen for her cue.

Tovi looked up at him, her chin on his chest, “Did I mention to you that I’m singing two of the songs I wrote with Taylor?” Sam shook his head no, knowing she had helped co-write with Taylor Swift on her entire last album. “Well, I am. I asked her and she said it was okay. So sorry if I look at you a lot.”

“Sorry for looking at me?”

“I mean when a song’s about someone it’s hard not to look at them.” She smiled.

“So I’m in for a surprise?” He laughed, “Oh god, now I’m nervous.”

“No, no, no you’re not allowed to be nervous. Only me.”

“Okay, fine. I’m not nervous at all and you shouldn’t be either. Because you have a sparkly microphone behind you--” He grabbed his from her assistant, “And you’re going on stage soon?”

“Three minutes.” Her teeth practically chattered from anticipation.

Sam grabbed her cheeks (lightly, he knew the make up rules) and made her look up at him. “Whatever happens, know that you’re biggest fan is here for you and only you.”

“And Post Malone later tonight.”

“No, I’m here for you, Tov. Promise.” He pulled her forward and kissed the top of her head. “Relax, you know the plan, have fun. I love you.”

“Trying to relax, will soon be having fun and I love you more.” She winked before running towards the stage, hiding behind a speaker until her cue.

A large screen lit up in the background. An illustration of Tovi walked by, her name appeared after her and the crowd erupted in screams. ‘So far so good’ she thought to herself.

The synth from her first song began to play. One of her first radio hits that took her around the world. She could sing this song and do the dance without even thinking about it and once she stepped on the stage that exactly happened. (I’m going to link the songs in order of performance after/before introducing/talking/etc. about them.)

“....you know my love is.” She finished, the crowd screamed, her band started going into her second song, she looked side stage and didn’t see anyone she knew.

“This next song is one of my latest singles, about someone you meet... that you can’t get over.. and you just want to.... waste all of your time on them.” A few screams were heard, fans that knew what she was talking about.

Half way through the song she found Sam, his friends, her friends and a few other artists that were set to perform tonight in a VIP gated area at the front of the general admission. Perfectly timed for her to end the song, she made eye contact with Sam:

“....I wanna waste My love on you”

Tovi took a sip of water and let the crowd yell. Her band began playing a song as flames took over the background screen. “Raise your hand if you’ve ever been in a relationship... and it’s just gone bad... and you just want everything to go wrong for that person?”

The crowd screamed, raised hands, tossed a couple beers in the air, “Well this song was written for an ex when I was really mad and I wanted it all to... hurt like hell.”

As a surprise, Offset came out and performed his part, ending the song with Tovi on the middle of the catwalk:

“I really hope it hurts like (oh) Like (hell), like hell”

“Give it up for, Offset!!” She clapped, backing up to let Offset have the attention. “I wish I had another amazing surprise guest like that, but this is close.” She teased the audience, “I have an amazing friend who is an amazing song-writer and woman and just an amazing person in general. And we wrote some songs together for her last album--

The crowd cut her off, they knew who it was and they were losing it.

“Well I’m sorry to say Taylor Swift is not here.” Tovi laughed, “But she did give me permission to sing a little bit of a few songs we wrote together. And the backstory to the first one is funny, to me at least.”

She sat on a speaker towards the front of the stage, right in front of her friends. “I was with Taylor at her house in Nashville and something had happened and I said four words and it was like a lightbulb went off in her head and she started writing down notes and chords and we go so into this song we were up until six in the morning, jacked up on tea and a fruit tray we found in her fridge. All because I met someone on a whim and once they left I realized I didn’t want them to leave.”

Her guitar player took center stage with an acoustic and sat up a mic stand for her. “I hope you don’t mind that I tone it down for a second, I promise the vibes are all up here from now. This is Come Back, Be Here.”

Tovi had never seen herself as an emotional person but singing certain lines of this song were making her feel like she was about to cry.

“This is falling in love in the cruelest way, This is falling for you when you are worlds away.”

Thankfully her back-up singer kept it going while she stopped, playing it off as just trying to catch her breath. She looked at Sam, his (now) puppy dog eyes looking up at her from the ground as his slightly intoxicated friends kept telling the crowd behind them that it was about him.

“I don't wanna miss you like this. Come back... be here. Come back... be here.”

"Ladies and gentleman give it up for Ricky on acoustic guitar!” She clapped and took a sip of water as her band came back on stage, “Now that’s enough of that sappy-stuff..” She joked, winking down at Sam. “But I’m going to take a poll... who has ever met someone that makes them feel like they’re in middle school again, sending text messages to your friends about how BIG of a crush you had on them?”

The crowd roared, apparently everyone knew the feeling.

“So... I met a guy...” She glanced at Sam and the crowd was catching on and laughed, “And.. don’t ask my friends what I said. But I kind of liked him.” She went down the cat walk, “And apparently I wasn’t good at hiding it.... so Taylor pulls me aside one day--

Interrupted by screams again, just the mention of Taylor could drive a crowd wild.

“Taylor pulls me aside at this little get together we were at and she asked if I had a crush and I said I did and she said he had a crush on me and I was like no he doesn’t and she was like yes he does and the next day we wrote this song off of some true events and it’s a SINGLE off her newest album. This is called, I Think He Knows.”

Sam’s group of friends looked like they were in a mosh pit as they jumped around singing to Sam: everyone knew this song was based of off his and Tovi’s relationship.

“I ain't gotta tell him I think he knows.’

“He does!” One of his friends yelled, receiving a laugh from the crowd.

“I wish I could stay here all night but I think you’re all ready for some... Marshmello?? or maybe some.... Post Malone?!” The crowd lost it, some had been waiting all day in the front just for Post, the last show of the night.

“Chicago you have been an amazing, amazing crowd and I couldn’t have asked for a better first Lolla performance and I hope there are many, many more to come!” She waved to each side and blew kisses, “I’m going to leave you with my newest single, T-G-4-M also known as, Too Good For Me.” Tovi turned and hit a pose with her dancers

She bent down on the edge of the stage, singing right to Sam and her friends,

“You're too good for me, but I want, but I You're too good for me, but I want, but I want you anyway.”

An epic boom ended her set as she waved and ran from one side of the stage to the other, “Thank you Chicago!”

As she exited stage she felt like she could collapse, but her two best friends were right there to hug her and unknowingly keep her standing up: she was exhausted.

“Tovi, Tovi, Tovi you fuckin’ killed it.” One screamed in her ear (I imagine this girl looking and acting like Sarah Baska lol), reminding her that she could barely hear a thing with her in-ears on so she pulled them out and let them fall to her shoulders. “Everyone was vibin’!”

“So it was fine--

“PERFECT” The both yelled at her, going in for another group hug.

Tovi pushed her body away from the two and walked between them, “Sammy.” She jumped into his arms, finally able to avoid messing up her makeup or spray tan.

“You were amazing, so, so, so amazing.” He said to her, ignoring her entire sweaty body and the makeup stains he knew he would have on his white shirt. “You went out and fuckin’ killed it.”

“Good. Because I’m exhausted, but that was so much fun.” She giggled, digging her face into his neck, “I didn’t realize that many people would know my songs. I thought like ten people in the back would and no one else but so many people sang along.”

“Everyone was, it was so good.”

“No time to relax.” Tovi had just remembered, “I only have forty minutes to change into a Posty outfit so we can go watch.” Sam sat her down on her two feet and she surprised herself by being able to stand up. “You go hang with your friends, I’m going to go change.”

“Not a chance.” He laughed, grabbing her hand.

“Tovie? Tovie! Hey Tovie, cool name by the way. I’m Austin, some people call me Post. Rad set, love the vocals on the last song. I had my manager talk to yours, maybe we can get some studio sesh’s in and get something going? I’ve got a duet song I’ve been working on.”

Tovie didn’t even have time to take in what was happening. First, Post Malone was there. Second, he knew her name and was talking to her. Third, he wants her to have a song with him?

“Sounds... awesome.. good luck tonight!” She waved as a group of press followed him down the hall. Right when he was out of sight, “Are you fucking kidding me?!”

“Tovi this is... Post Malone wants to do a song with you!”

She repeated it back to him, still not feeling real, “And he knows my name!” She jumped, hugging him again. “Now I have to go change really quick so I don’t miss his set at all.”

All of Post’s set was spent in their little barricade singing every word and dancing like maniacs. Instagram stories were flooded and annoying everyone but no one cared.

The end of the night Tovi posted a blurry picture of the Chicago skyline, a Lolla poster with her name on it, one someone had taken of her on stage and another of Sam holding onto her and swaying behind her when they were side stage for Quinn XCII.
