Explain But Daddy I Love Him's first verse like I actually have schizoaffective
“i forget how the west was won, i forget if this was ever fun, i just learned these people only raise you to cage you, sarahs and hannahs in their sunday best, clutching their pearls, sighing, “what a mess,” i just learned these people try and save you cause they hate you”
“west” is a metaphor for her career because the west is considered successful and more advanced than the east, and she’s saying that her she forgets how she even got to this point of apparently having it all (imo it’s really smart because the west is considered better, and all of its issues are hidden under a rug and ignored to maintain the image of composure and being the best). she forget that it was attained by making fan connections and she forgets that she actually enjoys this and loves the relationship we have. she doesn’t remember because she just had the realization that people give you everything so that you feel indebted to them, and then they tell you that you have to listen to them and follow whatever they’re saying because they’re the reason you’re doing well. sarah and hannah are common names, and she means that a ton of random people who are apparently doing everything perfectly, going to church and being good, are talking about what a mess she is. (also, sarah and hannah are biblical figures and it actually relates to the church, but idk a lot about that stuff, so if someone else can break that meta connection down). “clutching their pearls” means being shocked, and she means that they are shocked that she is letting this happen. she just learned that people put you on a pedestal so high that it’s impossible to not fall, and when you eventually do fall down, they save you and then control you, and they’re playing this messy game with her because in reality they don’t love her, they hate her.

Propaganda why Batman is insufferable:
Always has to be right. Does the most janked up stuff and doesn't care who it hurts. Imposes his will on others to the point of willing to bodily harm them if they do not comply (and yes, this does include his children)
I’ll also support Batman as a candidate because of the slapping Robin meme, which is annoying, and because he is just way too much. Too much all the time.
Has to always be right, regardless of situation. Because somehow the billionaire has knowledge of how middle class people think.
Propaganda why Tony Stark is insufferable:
She’s a hypocrite who is ready to restrict the freedom of others when they make one mistake, but when he makes a mistake he figures he’s able to handle himself
Super long, sorry lol
Thinking about how in Homecoming when Peter accidentally caused that boat to get split in half because the Vulture’s gun exploded and Tony was acting like as if Peter was completely in the wrong for going there just because he did it without his permission. He was acting like as if Peter was out of line and “disobeyed him”, trying to act like his father. And then I remember how in CACW he’s the one who scouted Peter in the first place just because he saw he might be useful against a personal squabble between him and Captain America despite knowing that he was a kid and he’s just now acknowledging how dangerous it is because Peter “acted on his own”
Completely hijacking Peter’s superhero story and trying to control his every move (Training wheels protocol and baby monitor thing he put in the suit), acting like Peter should’ve known that Tony would send someone in despite the fact that he’d been ignoring him for 2 months since Civil War and not keeping him updated on anything!!
How the hell is peter supposed to know Tony is going to listen to him when he treats him like a kid instead of a superhero when it’s convenient for him? And when Tony loses his temper after Peter says he’s 15 not 14 like “the adult is talking” bitch he could literally flatten you without your suit!!!
I guess in a way he is acting like a father but like the absentee kind. He’s more like a sperm donor father trying to act like he has any rights over Peter’s life smh.
It’s not that reprimanding Peter for the situation is bad, but the way he makes it seem as if Peter is irredeemable as if Tony wasn't a literal weapons dealer lmfao. He could’ve said what was the truth about it without completely invalidating him saying shit like “no thanks to you” after Peter asked if everyone is okay when it’s literally thanks to Peter finding a lead on those guys in the first place that they were even noticed and it’s not like the FBI being there could’ve in no way caused a similar situation.
And then near the end of the movie when he’s getting crushed by the building rubble screaming and crying for someone to help him where the fuck is Tony?? That scene just proved that he never needed Tony’s suit in the first place to be Spider-Man since he had to use 100% his own strength to lift it off of him. I know he would’ve found the motivation even if Tony hadn’t been involved in the first place to give him the suit, take it away from him and have the words “if you’re nothing without the suit you shouldn’t have it“ echo in his head. Why did Tony even take the suit away? Like as if he expects Peter to stop being spoderman without it??? Holy fuck. This is why you don’t make it out of endgame /j /srs.
When Tony took this suit away from Peter he was like “God I sound like my dad“ shouldn’t that be a red flag to him? Wasn’t he literally just saying that he wished his dad was better than he was?? Lmfao
Tony is so annoying. When they first meet he straight up bullies Peter into fighting for his personal bullshit, insults and objectifies Aunt May in front of him, spits into his trashcan and is in general being pushy af. He blackmails Peter when he doesn’t wanna come to Germany with him AND HE DOESNT EVEN EXPLAIN WHY HE WANTS HIM TO COME. Uncomfortable vibes lol.
Tony being the one to tell peter “if Captain America wanted to hurt you he would’ve” when Peter was trying to state his case, yet HE’S also the one who put Peter in harms way when he didn’t even want to go with him???
Telling Peter that he should stick to being a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” (stealing his thing once again) when that’s what Peter _was_ doing before Tony took him out of his zone and filled his head with grander things to be apart of….bitch? Die. Ohh waaaait (jkjk) but yeah
There’s the usual “he’s a war criminal who only felt bad about it when he realized his weapons were killing white Americans as well as Arab people” reason, and also he’s just super annoying. You had to be there for the original Avengers shitty dialogue a la “we have a Hulk” that had Tumblr in a vicious chokehold. Also he was supposed to FINALLY go away after destroying all his suits in Iron Man 3 but he just… didn’t! Which is bullshit.
Portrayed as a hero because? He chose to no longer mass produce war weapons and bombs after suffering the consequences. Huge hypocrite. Doesn't care about anyone but himself. Will backstab people if they believe in human rights when it's inconvenient to him. Seen as a hero while he's the personification of privileged people saying they're not privileged
>Makes weapons
>Billionaire
>Made multiple AI Surveillance Robots
>Gaslight a child into fighting a super soldier in a foreign country for him
>His fans are annoying

oh what a way to die
My bedsheets are ablaze,
I screamed his name
Building up like waves crashing over my grave
I only now realized that the allusions to death here refer to The Little Death. Taylor, girl!!!

TTPD -the album proper- first thoughts
Here are some thoughts about TTPD -the album proper, cause I do not have the time or energy to analyze The Anthology (Taylor, wtf was this double drop???)- before I’m influenced by other people’s thoughts. Warning: I may be waaaay off the mark in some cases cause half the time when I was listening to these songs for the first time I was like “???”
Fortnight (feat. Post Malone) - Great melody, smart choice for an album opener, nice lyrics, no idea wtf the song is talking about. Like, I am guessing it’s about (a first?) break-up with Joe Alwyn in February -and they might have gotten back together for only a fortnight then broke up again for good?- but I’m so confused. Also, why is this the lead single? Taylor, this is not gonna win you SOTY at the grammys. 7/10
The Tortured Poets Department - This was … unexpected, to say the least. This was truly a picture of a moment in her relationship, while I expected either some kind of introspection or parody. Also the line about what he told Lucy and she said the same to Jack? Insane. Girl, you are both better off single. The ring and the wedding allusion? God, it hurt. (And it was only the beginning with this album…). Amazing song anyway. 9.5/10
My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - Girl, this is mental illness for me. Love it to bits and I kinda wish it will become a single (I think it’s my … 3rd choice for a single?), but… girl, I’m happy you two broke up. 9.5/10
Down Bad - I had low expectations from this song cause the title inspired nothing in me, but it really delivered a punch. Probably one of the most honest songs on the album proper. Oh, and her vocals here? Her tone of voice? No notes, it just … hits different *_* 8/10
So Long London - Funny enough, I did hear a leak of this! But it was like … 10 seconds from the intro and I wasn’t sure it was real. It is a very good song, and I can understand why she chose it as a track 5. But for me, when compared to other track 5s -and with a title so inflammatory- it was a bit of a let down. Still love it of course. 8.5/10
But Daddy I Love Him - This one is about Matty Healy, isn’t it? Like, it has to be, cause for the life of me I can’t see who this guy could be but Matty Healy. This song … I laughed out loud. She’s unhinged. ‘I’m having his baby’. Girl, you are unhinged. The wedding fever continues, and now we get the first glimpse of the baby fever. God, I love her. You can literally hear how done she was with everyone having an opinion about whom she dates. I need to listen to this and I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) back to back, cause this girl was so so wrong. Except that bridge. The bridge is gospel and spoke straight to my soul. 10/10
Fresh Out the Slammer - And I’m guessing this is the continuation of the track before, so still about MH. I have to say, this is really meh for me. Maybe because I was expecting something even more high tempo, but this is just … there for me. It doesn’t help that the ‘pretty baby’ annoys me. 6/10
Florida!!! - Nice to see Florence get so much singing time. Their voices mashed surprisingly well. But just like with Fortnight -and these two do seem connected- I have no idea what she is talking about here. I think it might be a composite sketch referring to both her first post break-up shows and Florida as a metaphor for escaping from your life? Idek. But the melody is great and this might be my fave collab of hers so far. 8.5/10
Guilty as Sin? - Another Matty Healy one IMO. Amazing how much material she got from such a short-lived affair. IMO she made a mistake making this track 9 and Florida!!! track 8. I would switch them around to make more sense. I’m not 100% sure this is about emotional cheating, as I think the Joever break-up wasn’t as clear cut as it was made to be, but there is something here about overlapping timelines. 9/10
Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me? - Well, everyone should be now!!! I adore this song, it’s my fave of the album. If I have one complaint about it is that I would have put it more towards the beginning of the album instead of in the middle of the Matty Healy Saga - which makes no sense to me. Honestly, I don’t have much to say about this track cause in my eyes it’s perfect. This is the Taylor I’m here for. 10/10
I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) - That last line! I laughed so hard. On one hand, I feel sorry for her. Otoh, girl, you should have run the first time you saw him. Great song to end the Matty Healy Saga on. 9/10
loml - Wow, this was a punch to the gut. Every lyric here is a masterpiece and a dagger to the heart. I would love it if she made this a single (this is SOTY material IMO), but it’s probably too emotional for her. The melody reminds me of Last Kiss, but the piano is giving Evermore. 10/10
I Can Do It With a Brokern Heart - Why is this not the lead single, Taylor??? It has everything: melody, lyrics, airplay value, SOTY potential, why?! I love every single second of this song, especially the chorus. I’m probably gonna listen to it on repeat. Second fave after WAOLOM. 10/10
The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - Every song I thought was gonna be cutting turned out to be just plain sad. IMO, this song is both about JA and MH. I don;t really have much to say about this song, as it is just .. painful. 9.5/10
The Alchemy - Yeah, I’m team This Song is About Travis. Nice song, and I like that she included something about the current relationship, but it’s not exactly a fave for me. 7.5/10
Clara Bow - This was my predicted fave, but it was def dethroned. Still, I do think this is Top 5 for me. I love the direct reference to herself at the end and the way this is both hopeful and still somewhat sad. Also really like the vocals here. 10/10
Final score: 8.87
Not bad at all. Gonna deal with The Anthology later. Much later as I actually have a life to go back to.

Once you get this, you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly. Then you have to send this to ten of your favourite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool~)🌈🌈
D'aww, thank you for sending me this! (And sorry for the late reply LOL)
Five things I like about myself:
1. My determination
2. My academic achievements and ~inclination (I actually used to feel so insecure about these things because of the enviroment I grew up in. Instead of the saying 'small pond big fish', my childhood could be summed up as 'small pond, oddly big fish that made me feel small')
3. My intuition. I really ~stumbled into some great things in my life LOL
4. Shallow, but I really like my eyes and how easy they can be made to ~look interesting
5. My willigness to try new stuff (if I have enough info about it and if I am in the mood LOL)

Considering the song lengths and just the overall vibes, I think Fresh of the slammer is most likely the first single.

I forgot to post this yesterday, but those lyrics revealed from TTPD? Truly incredible. I have high hopes for the lyricism of this album.
As for the possible song it might be from, my first thought was for some reason Who's Affaid Of Little Old Me? But it's much more likely is from Clara Bow, or even Florida!!!!

hey hows the yj jason fic going? (abt the ask game)
have a nice day!! <3
likewise :DD
I've talked a little bit about it recently here and here too. This week I've been putting together the bits and pieces I have of chapter 4 (out of an outline of 21 chapters). This is when things really start picking up. Basically, it's when this is meant to take place: Dick finding the mysterious red-hooded stranger lol.
I've advanced little in terms of new writing for the chapter because I'm too busy coughing 90% of my awake time ¬¬, but between that scene (which makes the bulk of the chapter), and this flashback, I have where to pull from
Rn I can't remember if I've mentioned this on main, btw, but every chapter starts with a short(ish) flashback. The point of view varies, all POV characters get at least one (Talia, Bruce, Jason himself, Cass, Dick, Artemis, Dinah, Tim, Damian), but all of them focus on Jason, one way or another. They show him before meeting the bats (very relevant post here), before Robin, as Robin, with the team... his death... what the aftermath of his death was for other characters, his time with the al Ghuls... because yeah, I wanted to write about Jason in the "present", but I didn't want to just reference the past. I love robin!Jason, in particular, and I wanted to introduce him to this 'verse properly.
Anyway. This month my goal is to finish drafts of chapters 4 & 5, at the least (chapter 6 includes some complications at the moment and I also want to finish an original short story in April). I'm going to share an abridged version of my outline for the first five chapters behind the cut, Just Because :P
ask me about my wips!
CHAPTER I
Flashback: Damian is born premature (Talia's POV).
Main plot: Jason and Damian's arrival to Metropolis (Jason's POV).
Secondary plot: What The Heroes Are Doing (Dick's POV).
CHAPTER II
Flashback: batmobile's tiles & blackmail (Bruce's POV).
Main plot: Jason's Plan (Jason's POV).
Secondary plot: Damian and Titus (Damian's POV).
CHAPTER III
Flashback: Jason & Dani (Jason's POV).
Main plot: a truckload of kryptonite (Jason's POV).
Secondary plot: 911 call (Dinah's POV).
CHAPTER IV
Flashback: Jason & Harley (Bruce's POV).
Main plot: The Chase (Dick's POV).
Secondary plot: Talia's plans (Talia's POV).
CHAPTER V
Flashback: Meeting the Red-Hooded Ninja (Cass's POV).
Main plot: investigation (Artemis's POV).
Secondary plot: Jason tweaks his strategy (Jason's POV).

Wait, how old is the gang supposed to be in the 2000s? I remember you told me about the dual timelines, but for some reason I assumed they would still be in their early twenties in 00s.
Gillian, my girl, I'm glad her career is thriving! Iirc when I 'met' her the first time, I compared her to Lois Lane so it's very satisfying to see her as an investigative reporter. Now I'm super curious about Sadie's and Denise's potential careers too.
And ofc I'm very curious about The Event.
For the WIP folder game, I'd love to hear about Sadie and co even if you haven't worked on that WIP lately
this is something I discussed on my (second) writeblr (which is so abandoned rn lol) and maybe dms, so you (probably?) already know, but although the WIP (formerly known as the witch coven 'verse, later renamed to The Wicked Witches of Trickstown) started out as ~vaguely contemporary, a mix between my natural disinterest for modern settings and a brief love-affair with yellowjackets (dropped like a hot potato since) made me want to switch things up.
the result is that part of story is set in the past circa the '80s, and part in the "present", which for them would be the early '00s. I like that set-up because those are both very tumultuous times in usamerican history (and this wip is set in the us), and I find the idea of writing about those within the confines of an isolationist small town weirdly compelling.
it's also interesting from a characterisation point of view, because there's... An Event. that's been key to the series and something I pictured as part of it from almost the very beginning. it's An Event that wasn't supposed to exactly close the series, but it precipitated the end, or what I envisioned it as it. The Event, in this new set-up (where it'd probably be moved to earlier in the plot, actually), would occur during the '80s, in the characters' past. so now, with the added '00s timeline, the framing is different, there are new questions. what did this mean for the characters in the long run? can time really heal all wounds? yes, no, which ones? can what's broken be truly fixed?
it's also more interesting to me because I get to write the characters (Sadie, Gillian, even Denise; and of course Judith, Di(nah), and Leo) as grown adults, instead of only in their late teens / very early twenties (and emotionally stunted asdkfjasfd) in Denise's case. the older I get, the more appealing I find the idea. of seeing what they could grow up to be, and not just their potential (for better or worse).
I know Gillian was your favourite, so you'll be pleased to know that hers is the "future" that's clearer to me than all the others lol. yes, even Sadie, who's the lead, but while I know the destination (possible minor changes pending), I'm still deciding what I want her journey to be like after The Event. for Gillian it's the other way around.
things I'm willing to share right now about said future: Gillian's life is a mess in many ways (remember the whole "yeah she's mostly living in her car which yeah is hell to her already sickly dispossition" thing), but professionally? she's THRIVING lmfao xDD (investigative/crime reporter).
(here's an "intro" to the wip for anyone interested, since I don't exactly talk a lot about it here)
ask me about my wips!
