Dear God, please give me strength when I’m weak, courage when I’m afraid, peace in the storms, and protection in the battles. With You on my side, I cannot fail. I am moving forward in my purpose and calling because You are for me. The path before me is open and Your favor makes a way for me where there is no way. In Jesus Name, amen. 🙏

Daily Scripture Text
*"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11*
Commentary:
This verse from Jeremiah offers profound reassurance of God's care and guidance in our lives. It reminds us that God has a purposeful plan for each of us, one filled with hope and promise, even in times of uncertainty. It underscores the importance of trust and faith in God's providence, knowing that His intentions for us are always for our ultimate good.
Questions:
1. How does this verse bring comfort to you in times of uncertainty or difficulty?
2. What steps can you take to align your life more closely with God's plans for you?
3. How can you share the hope and assurance found in this verse with others who may be struggling?
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for your promise of a hopeful future and your unwavering love for us. Help us to trust in your plans, even when we cannot see the way ahead. Guide us in aligning our lives with your will and grant us the courage to share your hope with those around us. In Jesus' name, amen.

I want to share with you a little prayer (or some variation thereof) I've said for a while now in the morning as I get out of my car at work:
I make a cross over my forhead and say, "Holy Spirit, pour down into my mind a river of grace that I may be pure in thought and think nothing evil or impure."
I make a cross over my lips and say, "Lord pour down a river of grace over my lips that I may be a man of clean lips; let me say nothing evil or discouraging to the Faith. May everything I say be inspired by You and lead others to You."
I make a cross over my heart and say, "Holy Spirit, pour down a river of grace into my heart to make me pure of heart. Water me and make me fertile that I may bear an abundance of good fruit in all that I do."
Normally I keep a flask of holy water in my car and use it as I say this prayer.

Father God, Walking in obedience to You is not always easy or comfortable, but thank You that Your Spirit empowers me for whatever You call me to. Thank You for Jesus and the perfect example of obedience and sacrifice He set by going to the Cross and laying down His life for us. Father, when the temptation to think and speak and act like the culture around me is strong, may I remember that He who is within me is greater than he who is in the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I’m going to start posting daily prayers to help myself keep it as a habit.
Jan. 11,
Loki my god, thank you for being here and for excepting me as your child and follower. Thank you for giving me a chance to work with you, thank you for the support. I really hope we can bond more because I love you so much and need you in my life. You’re perfectly imperfect and it makes you wonderful. We don’t deserve you yet you help us become better so we can. I know I asked you to stop sending me spiders, but maybe a few daddy long legs and jumping spiders would be okay. Maybe you can send me a snake like you did when I was ten! :)
Anyway, I’m very grateful for you and will heed your guidance. I will study and learn even if it takes me a thousand years because I’m lazy. All I know is that it will happen someday and it’s always worth waiting for. I love you, I love what you do for us, I’m sorry I get so scared when you’re around, I’m just not used to your presence and I grew up being told all presences were bad. Thank you for being patient and loving us all. Thank you for endless laughter, thank you for bad puns, thank you for teaching me humility, I might not be able to light you a candle but my heart will always be lit for you.

The answer
Yesterday was a mess.
One thing after another after another. It was non-stop. Barely time for lunch. Didn’t get through half of it.
Which means that today? It’s going to be more of the same.
We all have days like that. Sometimes weeks. When it feels like it’s never going to let up.
How do we handle that?
How do we recharge our batteries? How do we keep ourselves in a good place mentally, so that we can respond well to everything that we’re dealing with?
How do we make sure that in the middle of that kind of busyness we don’t lose sight of God and God’s will for our lives?
How do we make sure that we don’t fall into the trap of trying handle things on our own?
The answer is in today’s Gospel.
Wait, what?
Today’s Gospel is Jesus healing people and driving out demons all day, until “after sunset.” Followed by another full day of Jesus healing people and driving out demons, but with preaching added on top.
That looks more like Jesus’ personal recipe for burnout.
It’s easy to miss. But it’s there. Tucked right between those two very busy days.
“Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.”
How is that the answer? Adding one more thing to an already over-booked schedule?
Actually, it is the answer. If you’re going to do all of the things, then every part of you needs to be well-cared for. Or you won’t be able to do all the things.
And it starts with prayer, the most basic, most fundamental form of self-care. Because, as St. John Chrysostom explains, “Prayer is the place of refuge for every worry, a foundation for cheerfulness, a source of constant happiness, a protection against sadness.”
Imagine doing all of the things with your worries safely in the hands of God. Not what-if-ing about it but trusting in God’s guidance and timing.
Imagine doing all of the things cheerfully. Accepting them, handling them, and then letting them go. Because you know that they can never get between you and God – unless you let them.
Imagine doing all of the things happily. Trusting God. Knowing that God will work them for your good, even if you can’t see how right now.
That is what prayer gets you.
That is what’s behind the example that Jesus is giving us.
And that’s why St. Francis de Sales tells us, “Every one of us needs a half hour of prayer a day, except when we are busy – then we need an hour.”

July 2nd: Signs from Hekate?
So, today is Aphrodisia!! Aphrodisia is an ancient celebration to honor Aphrodite, and even though I don't directly worship her I've decided that I'm still going to honor our Lady of Love and Beauty. Fun fact, Aphrodite was actually the first goddess I worshipped early on in my journey, and she was so so sweet.
I remember I once prayed to her moments before leaving for a date, even left an offering asking for it to go well, but for some reason it just felt off. I didn't know it at the time, but she had been trying to warn me! Me and that partner broke up about 3ish months later from a whole snowball style shit storm; and that forementioned date? It sucked.
A n y w ay, I drank some strawberry cheesecake tea in her honor out of a heart shaped cup and made her a tiny holiday altar, complete with burning rose petals.
Tumblr media
In other news of daily practice, I also bought Apollo and Hekate some new crystals! Apollon got a chunk of raw citrine (I've been meaning to get some for him for FOREVER), and Hekate got a chunk of Selenite. Both gods received a piece of celestine as well, simply because they are higher beings.
This morning, I did a tarot reading with Apollo and pulled the Queen of Cups. I didn't have time to mediate on it before work, but I have a strong feeling that it was probably about shadow work, self-love, and the new move I've got coming up in a few weeks. It may also be about Hekate, but I'm unsure. After this posts I'll probably meditate on it and do some Pendulum work, especially since I bought one today that connects to both gods: Clear quartz on a silver chain with a silver snake wrapping around it!
Also, something happened that may be a sign from her? I did an entire ritual and offering last night to Hekate, calling out to her with several different epithets while banging on the ground, and asked for her to make herself known to me if she accepted. One of the first customers of the day wore a black shirt with a gaint triple goddess symbol on the back. Later, some children came up to me with dog plushies (not a big deal, just cute kids but you never know). Finally, after buying her selentite and that pendulum, I decided to swing by the bookstore before going home. Not really paying attention, just looking for chalices, I stumble across an incense holder thats in the shape of the triple goddess! These feel like they could be inconsequential, but who knows!
Anyway, that's all from me! Be safe, and have fun, Witches! Take some time to honor Aphrodite and your deities, get out in the sun, do your thing :)
Tumblr media
EDIT: The Attic Calendar I use may have been wrong, and Aphrodisia is on July 13th but that hardly matters! I enjoyed celebrating her, can't wait to do it again on the 13th!

Let us pray to the Lord and ask for forgiveness because we are all sinners. Let us ask to God to have mercy on us as we fall in temptation after trying hard not to, for giving into worldly ways and let us ask God for strength and His wisdom as we grow closer to Him. Let us live a life that glorifies Him. God loves you 💗
In Jesus’ name, Amen 🙏 <3
