When the "Real Ghostbusters" get transported to the "real" Ghostbusters' Earth, the two teams will start investigating how to put things back to normal, and stop the God known as Proteus from capturing them.

SCORE: 9
This one was an amazing read. Once more I am amazed on the versatility of Dan Schoening. They man can draw in any style!
But apart from the visuals, the story contains easter eggs beyond just the "real ghostbusters".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, to be fair. on that double splash page I had to read the wiki to figure out where some of those came from. But I was really surprised to see the Filmation Ghostbusters in the mix.
The story is simple enough, and fun. Now, I included the 2015 annual because, for some reason it tends to get bundled with this mini-series a lot. While it deals with the aftermath of "Get Real," it is not a continuation of the story.
The annual is a horror story (kind of), and it also introduced Samhain to the canon of the book.
Oh, and James Hong technically appears as the ghost from "Little trouble in Little China."

Part two of Panic in the Sky has cometh! The covers get progressively more epic-looking thanks to Dan Schoening‘s impressive pencilling, as well as progressively showing more of the important main cast instead of...one Witchcarter in the previous issue. xD
Funny how practically everything on these covers are accurate to the stories being told...except for this one with Sonic turning into his Werehog form one issue too early. Other than that, these panoramic covers are still impressive to look at and make for a nice bookend to Countdown to Chaos‘ one at the beginning of the reboot!

GHOSTBUSTERS VOL. 1 #5-16
2012
By Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, Tristan Jones, Luis Antonio Delgado and others
Tumblr media
The Ghostbusters notice an increase in PKE which may be related to an odd experience in Egon's past. At the same time, someone decides to start competing with the Ghostbusters... with colossal results.
SCORE: 9
So, if you are enjoying the current "Saturday Morning Adventures" by the same team (sans Jones), then you should definitely look at this run of Ghostbusters.
I already reviewed the first four episodes, and I gave those four issues a 9... well... I decided to try reading the whole run, and I glad to say the quality remained pretty much the same across.
There are a few one-shots, but most stories last around 4 issues. However, there are long arcs that last the whole volume (and some jump into the next one). I was actually pretty surprised by the way these stories unfolded. By the time the Ghostbusters went against the Ghost Smashers, it really felt like a Ghostbusters movie (well, the first two at least).
There are three things you need to be aware of before reading this comic.
1 Ghostbusters (1984)
2 Ghostbusters II
3 The Ghost Buster video game (2009)
The third one took my by surprise. I remember playing a couple of stages in it, but I never got around to finishing it... the only reason it's important is because otherwise, you will be left wondering who the 5th Ghostbuster is in one particular issue.
In any case, this was an amazing piece of work. Characterizations and plots were done amazingly, and it feels like a real collaboration, with Tristan Jones often adding character designs (and stories).
I often forget the plot of Ghostbusters II... is it just me? In any case, I recognized the characters in this but I couldn't remember what their deal was... so if you are like me, I recommend watching the movies first.
One notable absence was Dana. I am not sure why they kept her out of this story.

Chilling Adventures of Salem by Cullen Bunn, Dan Schoening and Matt Herms. Cover by Schoening and Herms. Variant cover by Francesco Francavilla. Out in October.
“Salem the Cat has always been known as Sabrina's familiar, but what happens when Sabrina's not around to protect him (or, as is more the case, when he doesn't have to protect her)? This special one-shot explores a different side of Salem's life, one in which he acts as an anti-hero enacting vigilante justice on those who hurt others like him… animals, in a horror story that's equal parts Pet Sematary and Hereditary.”

Man, this cover hits sweet spot of being so fully of detail and still looking awesome as hell. Super Sonic looks cool, Perfect Dark Gaia looks more impressive here than in the comic itself, and Sonic’s friends hang at the top of the cover to remind us they’re here too!
What do you guys say we finished Panic in the Sky and the Shattered World saga once and for all?
