Gene and Dante whitewashing is way too common

Yes, they aren't that dark at all. But still taking their melanin away is weird, especially for Gene. As it makes him look way more like Zane then he needs to. Also, I'm like 80% sure they have been shown speaking Spanish, which COULD mean their father comes from a range of countries, of which many aren't white.

That and the whole thing of them having an uncle named Zach. Which weirdly implies they may be Aphmau's cousins?(But this is most definitely not intentional) but Aphmau's father also isn't white, so there's that.

Regardless even without all that; getting rid of people's melanin is weird. Stop doing that.(unless you're making them albino)

Even if yes, they are canonically pretty darn light. I still often see fanart around were they're even lighter. And it's kinda weird?

Not just them, don't whitewash in general.
