something I've been thinking about lately. i do think it's incredibly telling that almost 80 percent of the conversations around 'gatekeeping' and 'posers' and shit end up just becoming vitriolic hatred of 'alt girls' like i hate shit spotify playlists and dollskill fake leather edge and tiktok recommendations as much as the next person but this is a very big attitude coming from a website full of people who spent their formative middle school years shopping at hot topic for multi-colored skinny jeans while listening to like. falling in reverse or 21p unironically (this is a self-own btw). first of all teenagers having shit taste isn't killing punk music. but also why is the object of your hatred always boil down to a woman faking it? as if it isn't the single oldest stereotype in heavy music? like am i insane for thinking this is an issue

WIP Wednesday
So, this is another excerpt from "Like Real People Do", my (now twice renamed) 'Batman Begins' tie-in
“Uh,” she tries, “hello?” Because what else is there to say when a Lepidoptera lands on your hand. Wings of iridescent blue, with rows of spots on the outer edge. The undersides of the wings look sooty black, but that could just be a trick of the light. As Rachel's knowledge of butterflies begins and ends with third grade science, she has no idea what it is besides ‘beautiful’.
It stays there for a minute or two, resting as Rachel wonders if she should walk closer to one of the flower patches. And then–In the low light of evening, Rachel watches a butterfly flap its wings.
I am tagging @radioactivepeasant @elleinmotion @loverjed @falconemuses @nighthaunting @nitewrighter @thoughtfulrxven if any of ya'll feel up to posting anything.

Why is everything so damn expensive nowadays?! It's literally the same price to buy my favourite author's latest book here in the US as it would be to get it shipped to me from Britain. So, like. What the fuck?

Headcanon
When Shyvana came out of the egg, she looked like a baby version of what we see today, the only exception was that she had her tail in plain sight as well. With age, she started to conceal it and keeps it hidden (most of the time just appearing when she is in full dragon form).
The reason why she conceals it is to draw as less attention to her as possible, as it was easy to pass by something else in a place such as Demacia in her early years than to be recognised as an actual dragon. After the Mageseeker's events, she does it now out of pure habbit.

i just remembered that i played “To Zanarkand” on piano as part of my grad school application [we had to submit a video demonstrating proficiency on piano with a piece of our choice...]
...and to flex i played my own transcription, because i am still convinced that it’s better than all the other ones on the internet
