D:BH Tarot Cards "zine"

I got the pleasure to be part of the team that made this project a reality. What started as me fangirling on the side ended in a tight knit little community where I was able to paint 2 of the cards.

I was in charge of the design for the Back of the Cards and the Five of Wands!

The Five of Wands is a card about conflict, competition ,and rivalry so I painted Daniel!!

The realism got very side tracked by my demand for more glow but I don't totally hate it. It fought me a good but I wrangled it back into position ahah

And for the Back of the Cards, I just wanted to highlight the ribbon of fate and the mix of their respective differences. I went a bit more traditional since my fave part of cards is always the classy blues and golds.

Anyways, if you want to see what everyone else created then keep an eye out on the official account @dbh-tarot !! I'm personally making sure to also follow the IG and twitter!

I really love the vibe these cards have and every single artist is mad talented!!!

A gif of the progress. Ignore the part where I mis read wands as swords and it took very funky turn ahah. I'll upload the back of cards speedpaint later as I did it all in procreate where this one I jumped between procreate and sai leaving it very chunky

My entry for the @dbh-tarot project! (open for better quality)

Symbolism explanation below:

For North, I chose the Queen of Wands because it represents independence, confidence, passion, and determination - all traits North has. Her throne contains broken pieces of android parts to symbolise how she has witnessed the worst of what humans can do to androids, and she knows the possible cost of revolution and freedom. The parts are all pieces from arms and legs of androids, because of the work it takes to achieve freedom, and how North fights for it. Her flower is a dark blue lily, which symbolises a new beginning, and the colour also reminds of the Cyberlife blue. Her "staff" is a gun she uses in the revolutionary ending of the game, because of her drive to fight, and her skill in battle. The cat is an android cat. The background seems to be one of desolation, but the sun is rising, also symbolising a new beginning, a chance for rebuilding, and there are patches of grass growing anew. North's gaze is set on the flower, but it is on the same side/direction as the sunrise. North is ready to achieve freedom no matter the cost, and I wanted to honour that passion with the hope that it can be achievable.

And I gave her more accurate muscles with no jacket because I'm gay.
