Lauren Laverne: What's your next choice, and why are you taking it with you today?
Kate Moss: Oooh, My Sweet Lord by George Harrison. I was shopping with Anita Pallenberg and Marianne Faithfull, and we were buying last-minute Christmas presents.
I went, "Oh my god, is that George Harrison?"
And he came out of the shop and said, "Is it you?"
And I said, "What?"
And he went, "When I'm not watching Formula 1, I watch Fashion TV. Are you Kate...Moss?"
And I went, "Yeah, I am. Are you George Harrison?"
And he went, "Yeah!"
And I was like, "Oh My God!"
He said, "Come in, come in. I want to buy you a Christmas present."
And he wanted -- he tried to buy me this -- well, I wish I'd let him buy it for me, but I just couldn't let him because it was so disgusting, this jumper.
[laughter]
But it would've been like my jumper from George Harrison --
Laverne: A Christmas jumper, Kate! Sometimes taste has to go out the window.
Moss: I know! But it was cable knit! Bat-wing, cable knit, pink sweater, and I was like, "Please I can't let you buy that for me." But I loved him so much, and My Sweet Lord was released the week he died. And I couldn't stop crying. I cried -- I was sobbing. I thought, "What's wrong with me?" I mean it's upsetting but I could not stop crying. And I found out I was pregnant, with Lila, so that's my song with her and for George.

'Cillian Murphy has revealed that he's "totally" open to reprising his role of Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders.
The Oppenheimer star appeared in the Birmingham-based period drama as the boss of the Peaky Blinders crime gang for six seasons, from 2013 to 2022.
Speaking on BBC's Desert Island Discs, Murphy shared that, while he was "relieved" when the series came to an end, he would "totally" reprise his role, depending on the script from writer and creator Steven Knight.
"I have always said that if Knight delivers a script that I know he can deliver, because he is such a phenomenal writer, I’ll be there," Murphy confirmed.
"If we want to watch 50-year-old Tommy Shelby, let’s do it."
The comments have contributed to the hype surrounding the movie spinoff of the franchise.
Knight gave an update on the status of the project at the tail end of 2023, telling Radio Times: "I’m just working on the final bits of it at the moment. I just sit down at the keyboard and start. It’s a bit like having a dream, for me. You sit there and all this stuff comes, and then you read it back and think, 'That’s pretty good – but where did it come from?'"
Continuing, Knight revealed that the plan is to shoot the film, which was officially confirmed in 2021, "in the middle of [2024]"
Speaking on the same episode of the radio show, Murphy also paid tribute to late co-star Helen McCrory, who appeared as matriarch Aunt Polly.
"Helen was always funny and always brightened up every set," he said. "I loved her and still miss her."'

George Harrison, 1969; photo by Harry Goodwin (presumably).
In 1969, George named his three Desert Island Discs; and, as it happens, in the 1970s, several people named some of George’s songs as one of their Desert Island Discs.
George’s 1969 choices were:
“Let’s see, Ravi Shankar playing Raga Drbari Kanada [listen here]… and I’d like to have Sathya Sai Baba singing devotional songs. And what else? Maybe Blonde On Blonde [the full album playlist on YouTube].”
Here are Harrisongs chosen by others, including George’s friends Eric Idle, Ravi Shankar, and Barry Sheene:
Barry Sheene - “Crackerbox Palace” (broadcast October 1977) [episode] Eric Idle - “Dear One” (broadcast November 1976) [episode] Jimmy Tarbuck - “My Sweet Lord” (broadcast August 1972) [episode] Ravi Shankar - “My Sweet Lord” (broadcast February 1971) [episode] Laurie Lee - “Isn’t It A Pity” (broadcast January 1971) [episode] Melvyn Bragg - “My Sweet Lord” (broadcast August 1976) [episode] (x)

Everything's coming up Cillian Murphy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
....until March 10 when he loses the Oscar to Paul Giamatti
I kid, I kid.
But perhaps?
Tumblr media
In any case, Cillian has been having more than a moment during this awards season. He feted Robert Downey Jr at the Santa Barbara Film Festival where RDJ was honoured with the Maltin Modern Master Award
The fellas with Leonard Maltin and Rob Lowe.
Tumblr media
He won an AACTA this weekend;
Tumblr media
his edition of DESERT ISLAND DISCS dropped;
Tumblr media
and he will be interviewed on 60 MINUTES next week
-He's not the only Murphy doing the thing. His son Aran has booked a role (his second film, despite what media reports) in the film adaptation of KLARA AND THE SUN. The film will be directed by Taika Waititi and will star Amy Adams, Jenna Ortega and Mia Tharia (Phoenix Rise).
Eve Hewson, could you please be Ireland's Nepo Baby orientation leader and let Aran know what to expect?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe bring your brother Elijah (lead singer of Inhaler), in on this too?

Desert Island Discs
New tag game! I say new: it must have been done before, but I haven’t seen it yet, so here goes.
You’re stranded on a desert island, but you can pick eight recordings, a book and a luxury item to have with you. You get the complete works of Shakespeare and the Bible/other appropriate religious or philosophical book as a ‘freebie’. The luxury item must be inanimate and of no use in escaping the island or allowing communication from outside. What do you take? Say as much or as little as you like about why you made those picks
Thank you for tagging me in this nightmare game @jamilas-pen and @a-noble-dragon @mammameesh and @flowertrigger ❤️🥰
I actually misread it at first and it was hard enough trying to only think of 8 albums. Now I've realised it's songs I don't know how I'm supposed to choose!
Recordings
1. Runaway by Noah Reid. You have no idea how tempted I was to just name 8 NR songs. The accordion wins though.
2. Grace by Jeff Buckley. He has one of the most gorgeous, dreamy voices and it's one of my very favourite songs.
3. Movement by Hozier. This was so difficult because I love every single song by him.
4. Brick by Ben Folds Five. In case I want to get emotional.
5. Living is a problem because everything dies by Biffy Clyro. I have lots of happy memories around this song.
6. The end by The Doors. It's just one of their best.
7. Wet dream by Wet Leg. Something fun to sing along with.
8. Avalanche by Leonard Cohen. I get butterflies every time I listen to it. I love it.
Book
I'd bring Death Note (all in one edition) because my brother bought me it and keeps asking if I've read it yet but it's 2400 pages. I'd have plenty of time to actually read it
Luxury Item
A hot water bottle. I can't live without my heat pad for a number of reasons but with no electricity I'd have to make do.
Tagging @saraminia @rainbowcoloredpalmtrees @stereopticons @njwoman @smblmn @smallumbrella369 @hippolotamus @beaiola @trickiwooao3 @lizzie-bennetdarcy 🩷

Thank you to @a-noble-dragon and @jamilas-pen for the tags.
1 Tracy Chapman – Talking About a Revolution - my favourite song of all time to play and sing
2 Louis Armstrong- What A Wonderful World - my dad sang this at my children's naming ceremonies and we sang it back to him at my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Gorgeous.
3 The Wailing Jennys – One Voice – a beautiful song featuring and about voices in harmony.
4 Mozart Requiem - The greatest music ever written. In my humble opinion.
5 Dresden Dolls – Coin-operated Boy – Piano-based punk cabaret. Is Amanda Palmer the coolest person ever?
6 Arrested Development – People Everyday – to make me smile.
7 Nick Cave and Kylie – Where the Wild Roses Grow – cool and sexy
8 The Young Uns - Be The Man - A beautiful song about a tragic story of religious homophobia. Please support The Naz and Matt Foundation in working towards a world where religion never comes between the love of a parent for their child.
Book Some giant compendium of poetry about love and nature (and how to survive on a desert island).
Luxury item A grand piano please.
If you are reading this consider yourself tagged, I would love to know more about you.

'Cillian Murphy says he has struggled being in the spotlight, but he will try to enjoy the Academy Awards next month where he is nominated for best actor.
The Irish-born star has been nominated for Christopher Nolan's blockbuster Oppenheimer and is set to face off Maestro's Bradley Cooper for the prize.
"You'd be an eejit not to enjoy it," he told BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs.
He was asked by host Lauren Laverne how he will deal with being out of his comfort zone at the Oscars.
"I have struggled with it in the past and you know, it's not something I'm ever totally at ease with - but I think you have to, like, choose to enjoy it and I think you can do that in your brain, just make that alteration and it's easier then," the 47-year-old said.
Murphy - also known for horror film 28 Days Later, thriller Red Eye and playing Tommy Shelby in hit BBC crime series Peaky Blinders - is often not forthcoming about his private life.
He has previously spoken about finding red carpets "challenging".
But, Murphy said having his wife, Yvonne McGuinness, by his side has been "crucial" to feeling grounded as the "sort of ancillary aspect of being an actor is quite challenging".
Murphy also said: "To have a really secure solid base (with fame) is important. It's been really important for me, you have to have that safe place.
"I think I certainly do, where it's just like an island of comfort and ease."'
