I know the teen wolf fandom is pretty much dead, but I need to know how y'all feel about Theo Raeken?
Cause I haven't even looked at this show since the last season came out, but ALL OF A SUDDEN I'm obsessed with that boy and his character development on season 6 (or the little we got anyways) all over again
And thiam too but anyways
Is that a red flag? Should I be concerned?

Gilmore Girls has always been one of my go-to "put it on while I cook or need to feel nostalgic" shows. But I do get sad at how the more I watch it, the more annoyed I get at some scenes...
One of GG's most egregious sins has to be Jess' backstory// how crazy everyone is around him (also Lane's storyline but that's another post)
Sidenote: I love his self-publishing story and his moments with Luke for the record (do I wish he finished High school and stayed with Luke yeah but I get that they chose this path).
However... I cannot stand rewatching this show with how everyone acts towards him sometimes. I'm not trying to wipe away his flaws/transgressions in the plot but I want to rip out my hair when I see how these adults act.
Maybe it's the impact of martyrising Rory (and subsequently demonising any other child (-not her fault, the town is weird)) but it feel insane how he is treated.
Why does Lorelai come at Jess so hard? This is her friend's nephew who has moved across the country and obviously has issues, yet her choice is to be hostile?? I am 90% understanding with her protecting Rory later but this early scene... comes across as inappropriate.
Why are you fear-mongering a child? Why are you, a stranger, approaching him? Reprimanding him. Warning him to not mess up this good thing he's got going. Bro the amount of guilt Jess must have (especially with his mum?!). He's had to look after himself and be second best to Liz's boyfriends (who steal from and mistreat them). This kid has had no stability. When he needed help the most!! He gets abandoned (twice because remember - his dad). This feels twisted to me.
Also, Why is Jess painted as a bad guy for not supporting his mother's marriage? For yelling at Luke when he's clearly stress-reacting to Luke Danes (his adult carer) telling him they need to what... stop Liz from making another mistake.
I get Luke is guilted to sympathise/do Liz's bidding (he's too caring whatever). It's still wrong to see Jess' comfort being stepped on.
Why the fuck is Luke approaching Jess to tell him they need to look after Liz...I'm sorry... Jess has already spent all his time looking after her! Girl says she doesn't cook and has never had a stable job? So what was Jess' life like in NYC?
Lorelai yelling at Jess feels so disgusting in retrospect. Firstly, get a life, Lady 😭😭 Please,,, Secondly, this boy is being hounded to support Liz (who canonically does not care about him// her mistreatment of him)). I would maybe yell at Luke too? Maybe if you really cared... You'd help Luke calmly approach Jess and hear him out...
Lorelai had a bad childhood but she came from wealth. Jess did not have that! I cannot imagine how hard it must have been dealing with Liz's boyfriends (who again stole from them at one point??)) And have no parenting. He's not perfect kid but he could be better if the adults in his life did their jobs.
(Not that I'm suprised Lorelai doesn't bother though,,, she puts Rory on a pedestal and fixates how perfect she is... I'm not forgetting her weird comment about "having the good kid" when Paris and Rory were talking about sex))
Idk i'm yapping but Liz gets treated so nicely in this programme… Bro she never called her son… Or cared about him. I'd 100% be on board for Liz redemption. I don't think that her issues mean she is inherently bad. But her lack of remorse just kills me… Your son was hurting! He needed you. You threw him away. You expect him to be one of your 'guys' but he's not your support. You are supposed to support him. Does she even care that he publishes a book? Does she care that he works at Target? That he's so clever and could go to University but struggles with caring... he's so anti-social and it feels akin to the obsessive people pleasing that Rory has (the anxiety). It's not just a choice he's making; he's a child who needs support!
AAA... Anyway this was my post to archive my feelings on this matter... The adults in this show say some horrible stuff about the teens in this show. The talk about Paris (making fun of her), Dean (when everyone treats him as if he's the devil for *assumingly* breaking Rory's heart).

God, I'm probably going to rewatch the entirety of Hazbin for weeks, something I occasionally do with Helluva. Again, both mostly just passive interests away from my blog... until the actual show dropped and my absolute hyperfixation mode went haywire
Say what you want about the plot and designs themselves, I understand if it's not someone's cup of tea (Personally, I don't particularly like South Park, Family Guy, or Rick and Morty (anymore)), and the fact that it's pretty rushed, a fact I'll certainly agree with, but it is a fucking ACHIEVEMENT
I LOVE the busy designs and saturated colors, even if most are shades of red (If I had a show, it'd be mostly green and purple, lmao). I love the hand drawn and more cartoony style with fantastic VFX animation and backgrounds. I love the concept of Heaven vs Hell with demons and angels where angels can suck and demons can be good. I actually like that Adam was an entitled asshole because he didn't have to try for his wives, they were made FOR him
I don't go around looking for adult animation anymore because there's so many fucking Family Guy and Rick and Morty repetitive ass shows that use rigging and the same goddamn adult animation art style formula. Brickleberry, Paradise PD, American Dad, so on and so forth. Episodic drivel that KIND of teases a plot to keep you watching but it's the television equivalent of empty calories that you put on in the background. I stopped watching Rick and Morty after season 4 because it was just keeping the carrot on the stick way too far for me to care enough to keep watching (that and the whole Justin Roiland fiasco)
There's good adult shows, don't get me wrong, but almost nothing ANIMATED that's substantial and fun. There's a few, but it's smothered under Family Guy copycats and horribly stiff rigging that's cheap and bland by this point, and some are just downright depressing (Sorry Bojack and Tuca, I just couldn't handle you, I'm already sad half the time). To be honest, I almost didn't watch Inside Job because of the style, and even though it was mostly episodic it was fantastic!
Why can't I, for the decades of life I presumably still have past 18, have life in an animation made for adults? Charm? Pizzazz? Plot and color and FUN? Fucking anything more than the capitalistic weeds that choke the market just to turn a profit for the companies involved. I get it. Companies need to make a profit or they'll go in the red, lose money, yada, yada
But, in an already bleak fucking world where it's only getting bleaker and some corporations want to replace NINETY percent of an animated film/show process to AI eventually? I'm choked and burnout and everyday feels like there's no point in trying to make anything because the fucking programs will do it for us anyways, probably by stealing MORE from people who try. I don't need to see Meg from Family Guy get farted on or abused for no reason, or the Family Guy rip off equivalents that do it for shock value. I don't need copypaste stale material or IP revivals that beat over original ideas because they're safe and nostalgic, inevitably fucking up most of the time
Hazbin Hotel is far from perfect, but it got greenlit. It got picked up. It got to be written and MADE. I can almost guarantee you that Amazon only gave them eight episodes to start with, without certainty on whether or not it would be continued with them. I can almost guarantee you they had SOMEONE keep an eye on Helluva Boss's reception on YouTube to see if it would be profitable enough to continue Hazbin (After all, similar target demographic, right?) and the team wasn't informed until halfway through full production of season one that they'd get a second one. There may have even been the chance of them dropping Hazbin if Helluva's numbers didn't stay up
I love Hazbin and Helluva with so much of my heart because they're small oasis's in the corporate world that would prefer people work the warehouse and not the arts. Yes, I know Hazbin is on Amazon and 'Amazon bad', but if it's not encouraged by viewage (Which I'm sure it's doing well in right now) then original works will continue to be looked over in favor of shitty reboots or live action recreations
Ugh, anyways. I'm not sure how to end this. I just had to get my thoughts out

The Bad Batch Season 2 - Mid-Season Eps 7 & 8 Spoilers & Thoughts
Ranted it out on twitter last night and forgot to share here.
LOT of thoughts this time
Major Spoilers beneath cut!
Really trully phenomenal writing, so much more than I expected to be said so explicitly. Open discussion of clones' rights, their futures, their lack of personhood under both the Republic and the Empire, even the threat of decommissioning.
What we always knew, what we wanted explicitly addressed in mainstream canon, stated by the clones themselves. Truly ecstatic about these episodes.
Absolutely loved the confirmation that yes, this is what Rex has been doing all along. We saw it implied with Gregor in S1, but it's so good to see it clearly stated, and to see him in action. It makes me hope he got Cody out too.
It also made me crave a show dedicated entirely to this fight. I once again understand and am okay with the TBB centering solely around the Batch. But it's hard not to be anxious knowing what all the other clones are facing. Which makes me understand Echo even more.
Echo's decision. I knew it would come to a boiling point, trusted it would. I'd hoped that Echo would convince Hunter + co to care, but they have their own priorities. I love Echo more bc he decided he couldn't walk away.
He said that his place was with the Batch, and I like to think that he found some kind of home with them. But unlike the rest of them, he sees the rest of the clones as his brothers too. I hope this isn't the last we see of him, but I know he is loved and respected with Rex.
These episodes were a wealth of nostalgic locations, and seeing each one caused such a beautiful ache. I love all the lush new planets explored in the other episodes, but Coruscant felt like coming home.
The specific locations: 79s, the Senate building, Riyo's room that looks so much liked Padmé's, the Martez sisters' place, the clone memorial, the lower levels, even the star destroyer, the stunning of the troops specifically evoking S7's finale. Everything the same but different.
We didn't get to see all of these places with the new graphics, bc TCW S7 only had 4 arcs and TBB S1 covered a lot of newer locations. But gosh what a treat. It was all so beautiful, both aesthetically and metaphorically. Defs need to rewatch so many times to truly appreciate.
Rampart's fall surprised me, bc I did feel he's the lone Big Bad of the show so far, the true embodiment of anti-clone. He's done a lot of unforgivable things and having Palps lock him up isn't satisfying, even if it was surprising. I unfortunately doubt that's the last we've seen of him, though who knows. I admittedly don't care too much either way, but if he's gone, it'll be interesting to see who steps into the next "main antag" shoes, bc I doubt it's Palps himself.
IAN MCDIARMID.
TRULY THE KING.
(or should I say, Emperor)
RIYO.
I'm so glad to see her again
(also, apparently I've been saying her first name wrong all this time??? Am I the only one who's been saying Ree-yo when it apparently shoulda been Rai-yo?)
Rex had his tiddies uncovered the whole time and I was so concerned he'd get shot. i mean he's the only chara guaranteed to live, and I'm also glad he's got a better disguise, but dear please wear some protection
(but yeah ngl it's nice that we got to see him armorless with the beefier new model. I am still remembering TCW Saleucami and thinking my gosh this man is a STICK he is STARVED they ALL ARE. I am always for adding more beef to clones.)
Really curious where they're going with the chips brainwashing the clones. Both Rex and Wrecker appeared conscious of the whole time they were under, trying and unable to stop and remembering it afterwards.
Yet other clones seem to be gradually "waking up," even though many of them likely should have been equally horrified at the moment O66 went live. Rex and the Batch aren't exceptions being Good Guys, the vast majority of the clones are extremely loyal and honorable.
Makes me wonder if after an extended time under the chip's control, that feeling of wrongness/fighting against it fades, until it seems the new ordinary? But then the more time passes, the Order weakens, and they're able to feel more discrepancies, hence the desertions?
The clone assassin definitely seemed super "under" an Order, extremely Off and not himself, like what I'd imagine a freshly O66 clone to be like. Which makes me further curious that Rampart had him (and presumably more like him) under his control. We'll have to see!
But yeah, to conclude: Cody didn't die! (didn't show up!) Named clones I cared about too much in the few minutes we had them DID die and I am still sad but, it could have been worse.
Also huh, not even a glimpse of Crosshair? (feeling a wee bit bad for his fans, that out of the first 8 eps, he's only in one of them...hopefully the next one will be about him ^ ^; )

Ranking RTTE Seasons
This list might offend some people 😬😬 here goes nothin
6) Season 1
Season 1 isn't bad - the first episode is actually one of my favourites - it's just it was more of a taster, a dip in the water shall we say. No huge plots or anything, everything's mostly being introduced. But still fun.
Fave episodes: Eye of the Beholder, Imperfect Harmony, Gone Gustav Gone, Have Dragon Will Travel Pt. 2
5) Season 3
Again, nothing wrong with Season 3 - hello?? Buffalord Soldier?? Flawless - but just purely out of the most memorable episodes and most enjoyable episodes, wasn't as much as some of the other seasons. But RTTE is perfect so Season 3 is still top notch TV 😩
Fave episodes: Buffalord Soldier, A Grim Retreat, Defenders of the Wing Pt. 1
4) Season 4
I feel like I'm committing a crime ranking this one so low because this season is so good but somehow the others are even better (idk how no one is talking about RTTE outside of the Httyd random). For me, there were a couple of great filler episodes but there was also great plot related episodes. I just think apart from the the Hiccstrid episodes and maybe one other, i don't think about this season much, I rewatch the other ones a lot more. That's not to say it isn't good because the episodes i do watch are *chef's kiss*. How can we forget this season is the long awaited birthplace of Hiccstrid??
Fave episodes: Gruff Around the Edges, Not Lout, The Longest Day, Out of the Frying Pan, Blindsided, Shell Shocked Pt. 1 & 2
3) Season 6
For me, a lot of my nostalgia for this show lies in the earlier seasons (1-3) so how it went was I lost touch with the Httyd fandom for a couple years (around 2018) and then came back in 2020 after RTTE Seasons 5/6 and Httyd 3 had been released so I kinda missed out on the hype for it which is really annoying because as season 6 is the finale, I feel like it would've been a great high for the fandom. And then Httyd 3 was the ultimate finale but that's a story for another day. Anyways, I enjoyed a lot of episodes in this season, filler and plot. I think the episodes were enjoyable and it was a very well done send off to the show, i mean the final battle/epilogue always makes me emotional for some reason. Plus, all the little Hiccstrid moments were so cute this season, i mean, the hair touches?? Too much. I also liked how they tied everything up to Httyd 2 quite perfectly, with Drago, Valka, the Bewilderbeast and other small details - it was well thought out.
Fave episodes: All Bark, No Bite, A Gruff Separation, Mi Amore Wing, Family Matters, Darkest Night, Guardians of Vanaheim, King of Dragons Pt. 1 & 2
2) Season 2
This was a real toughie because Season 2 is such a great one, I mean it's nostalgic and so enjoyable and funny and there's so many great moments that happen. The filler episodes are so entertaining and the plot based ones were really interesting, I find season 2 to be so easily rewatchable. I also liked the subplots in the season between certain characters and i think it had some of the best stories.
Fave episodes: Team Astrid, Night of the Hunters Pt. 1 & 2, Bad Moon Rising, Snotlout Gets the Axe, The Zippleback Experience, Snow Way Out, Edge of Disaster Pt. 1 & 2, Maces and Talons Pt. 2
And finally...
1) Season 5 - My Favourite Season
I feel like a lot of people are gonna disagree with me on this bc i don't really see a lot of people talking about the episodes in season 5 much but what the hell. Season 5 was definitely my favourite season. The lighthearted episodes were just so goddamn rewatchable and good, most of my favourite episodes in this season are actually fillers. But I don't know why, there's something about the vibe of season 5 that i just love, it feels...calm?? In a way?? I don't know. But this season just has so many of my favourite moments in the show, maybe in the franchise.
Fave episodes: Living on the Edge, Sandbusted, Something Rotten on Beserker Island, Snotlout's Angels, A Matter of Perspective, Dawn of Destruction, The Wings of War Pt. 1 & 2, No Dragon Left Behind, Snuffnut.
And there ya go! Just a quick reminder that this is completely my opinion and how I feel about the seasons, definitely not saying any of this is a straight up fact.
Bonus: My Overall Fave Episodes:
Night of the Hunters Pt. 1 & 2, Bad Moon Rising, Buffalord Soldier, The Longest Day, Blindsided, She'll Shocked Pt. 1 & 2, Sandbusted, Snotlout's Angels, Dawn of Destruction, Mi Amore Wing, Darkest Night and King of Dragons Pt. 1 & 2.
Lemme know what you guys think!

[Magi rewatch] Episode 7: His Name Is Sinbad [Part 1]
Oh, yeah, it was definitely the right call. I already feel less exhausted having to watch this. Should've done this from the beginning, but, well, a Pole is smart after a mistake, not before it.
Tumblr media
Me for, like, half of this goddamn year. Hot as balls. For how long, actually? October or November. Jesus. I think October, cuz November/December I was on-and-off sick. What a fucking time to be alive.
Tumblr media
The characters tend to look kinda eh at times, but man, are the backgrounds cool.
A bunch of characters nobody cares about, but in the manga they thought they'd be able to get people to join them in Balbadd, but here they're just. Going there, I guess.
Tumblr media
He does look good.
Also SQUIRREL. And a BIRD
Tumblr media
She looks good in here.
Tumblr media
"You don't have to thank either of us! Alibaba did it, because he's a kind person!" Like, you're completely right, but also gets me how much Aladdin trusts and believes in Alibaba. And, the thing is, he isn't wrong to do so - Magi can kind of read people's Rukh, so Aladdin gets the kind of person Alibaba is on instinct. Still, F.
Also, gfdi, why does it all look so pretty. The colors get me, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a character introduction. What a legend.
It kind of reminds me. You guys know, Magi is like one of the series that's the dearest to my heart. One of the few. Which is why I get so critical of it. And it's hilarious when I think about the fact, that this AMV is the reason I watched it in the first place. I'm not kidding.
Tumblr media
"Why are you freaking out? :("
Also, gdi. Magi rewired sth in my brain, and whenever I hear Daisuke Ono I immediately think about Sinbad, it'll never stop. Did you know Jing Yuan from Honkai: Star Rail has Daisuke Ono as VA? And Wriothesley from Genshin Impact. I'm still processing that, lol. Other one I'll always recognize bc of Magi is Kaji Yuki (Alibaba). Funnily enough, he voices one of my fav Pokemon character - Clemont. Imagine my surprise. Man, maybe I do have a type.
Tumblr media
I love low quality Magi.
Tumblr media
He looks normal in the anime. Kinda nostalgic, good. Also, the wording seems to be a bit different, but mostly the sentiment remains.
Tumblr media
Agh, look how excited he is to meet another adventurer! You get it, mister, you get it!
What if Aladdin became Sinbad's Magi, hmm.
There's some yt channel that posts Kimetsu no Yaiba videos, what ifs, and then offers like three scenarios. Lastly it was what if Muzan was a Demon Slayer. Can't help but think abt it whenever I consider some what if.
Tumblr media
She smelled Hakuryuu's cooking.
Tumblr media
It really looks nice. From afar.
Huh, in the anime they don't mention how various races mingle here.
Tumblr media
Paper money. Something that Sinbad notices. Good characterization moment + good hint at what the porblem might be. Neat.
Tumblr media
Reminded me abt one of the fics that I'm writing. These goddamn towers. Two fics, actually. Though one of them is just recalling the events from the other.
Tumblr media
Anyway, back to the ep, I do think it's cool. Lots of show don't tell.
Tumblr media
Yeah. In the previous arc we've heard that Balbadd wasn't doing well, and now we get to see it.
Tumblr media
Down with the monarchy.
Tumblr media
This entire scene is still hilarious.
Tumblr media
"We're going to have to help him out, Masrur." "Damn."
Tumblr media
I love Ja'far. What a pro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since I had to delete it from the chapter post bc of the photo limit. Here. Morgiana & Masrur noticing each other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Sinbad experience.
Tumblr media
Pffff
Tumblr media
The sound he makes, lmao. "Ahhhhh". He's so not getting paid enough to deal with this bs.
Also, sad: we don't have Masrur helping him :/ That was such a nice moment : (
Tumblr media
White eyes. You killed him, Sinbad. You killed your future husband.
Tumblr media
"You're Sinbad, the King of Sindria!"

tagged by @howdydowdy <3 thankss!! i also don't watch a tonne of shows but i do watch a lot of films so i'm gonna do a combo of the two lol
8 shows/films to get to know me
borstal boy (2000(?) film) - watching this as a teen Changed me tbh... it also definitely gave me one of my first glimpses of a bisexual character on screen... also danny dyer plays a gay sailor in this i mean??? what more could you want lol (also feel like this film is equal parts depressing and hopeful which is my ideal kinda film lol)
the simpsons - i watched this religiously as a kid (every night at 6pm on channel 4 lol) so much so that my family makes jokes that everything i know i know from the simpsons lol...
would i lie to you? (uk panel show) - i feel like this show really explains a lot of my style of humour (i've literally nearly pissed myself whilst watching this show at times lol), plus i've had a crush on david mitchell for years which like no that isn't relevant to this list but i'm including it anyway... one of my fav clips is 'lee mack's keys' (give it a search on youtube it's hilar lol)
watership down (1970s animated film, i also love the book too btw) - the animation style of the very first part of this film has literally never left me, it's like ingrained onto my brain as the most incredible thing ever! the rest of the film is also amazing, albeit brutal at times which definitely fucked me up as a kid... esp that evil rabbit (wormwort?), pretty sure i was terrified of him lol
hook (1990s film (yes i know i could look up the exact date but i'm not gonna cos i'm lazy)) - this is one of the films that i know so many quotes from & me and my family use them to each other all the time lol (you're doing it peter! RUFIO RUFIO RU FI OHHHHH you're. afraid. you're. going. to. get. sucked. out. stop acting like a child!! i am a child!? RUN HOME JACK RUN HOME JACK wait...HOME RUN JACK HOME RUN JACK don't stop me smee don't stop me stop me smee stop me ... you get the picture lol) robin william's films just have a special place in my heart and this is one of the best imo
gayle (youtube comedy series) - it's embarrassing how much i think about this series & i literally rewatch it at least once every year so... i feel like that says a lot about me... idk WHAT exactly it says but it is.. it's a lot lol
i'm a cyborg but that's ok (2008(??) film) - if you asked me what my favourite park chanwook film is, you'd probs guess i'd pick the handmaiden, but you'd be so so so wrong, because THIS film is an absolute masterpiece that hasn't left me since my sister showed it to me like 10 years ago lol... it's about mental illness and stigma and grief and love and also rain (the singer) yodels in it whilst flying through the air it's great
labyrinth (1986 film (hey i actually remembered the date lol!) - i'm been thinking for ages what final thing to include and realised it had been staring me in the face: labyrinth, literally my favourite film of all time lol! it's equal amounts comedic, creepy, emotional, plus david bowie is there in ALL his glory (some may say too much glory but i'd tell them to shut their goddamn mouths lol)! the songs are amazing, the ballroom scene literally shaped who i am now.. it's a film about adolescence, siblings, it's about friendship and found family, it's about growing up but also keeping your childhood close at heart, should you need it... it's also about david bowie's bul- *gunshot*
that's all folks! i did try and not just include stuff that i'm nostalgic about, but unfortunately nostalgia is my middle name so most of these are things i've connected to for a very long time...
tagging (no pressure to actually do it ofc, the original prompt is 8 shows i think but you can essentially change it to 8 anything in my book lol): @dollopheadsandclotpoles @wovesaxe @micamicster @platypusplayhere @sylvasa @asoftspotforangels @zelvuska

hi andy!! i caught up with chapter 20 and had a blast reading it! 🫶
You have trouble understanding why it all feels so wrong when it’s all you have dreamed of for so long. Steve kissed you in a way he had never kissed you before, not even when you had just started dating did he kiss you with so much passion and love the way he did last night.
took him some time 😭
Now, you are laying in your bed, staring up at the white ceiling. You’re glad that you haven’t had much alcohol last night. The sharp pain in your lower stomach is already bad enough, you wouldn’t want to deal with both a headache and the awful cramps.
me rn cause im on my period
“Who do you hang out with?”
“No one,” he says without a single moment of hesitation.
he's kinda real for that idk 😭
“Thanks for the call, sweetheart,” he says sarcastically, furrowing his brows with a fake smile on his lips, “I mean for thanks for letting me know that you got home safe. Oh and super nice of you to keep ignoring my calls all day too.”
awkward.....
“Hey there, co-worker,” Steve says, unable to hold back his chuckle.
YAAAAAS SCOOPS BESTIES ARE BACK
Walking into the movie theater has always been a nostalgic feeling to you, it always takes you back to your childhood. It’s oddly comforting. The smell of popcorn and butter makes your mouth water and you can’t wait to dig into the sweet treat.
this!! it's exactly like that!! and i don't know why, i've been to the movie theater so many times, not only in my childhood, but it's always so nostalgic
“Right, they all change when they get dumped.”
yeah chrissy's right...
“They’re men, what do you expect?”
right 😭
“I would’ve told you if you picked up the fucking phone last night.”
not the f-bomb boy
“Oh! Fries too, please, Stevie!”
YESS FRIES
You don’t hear Eddie’s scoff over Steve’s chuckle, “I know, dolly.”
😭😭
“Get your fucking jealousy in check before you keep hurting her!” Steve yells over the harsh rain that is falling.
the way i would kick both of them out
“Sweetheart,” he speaks with a much gentler voice than before, “can we talk?”
shove that sweetheart up your ass bro after being bitchy all day 😭
how have you been btw? ❤️ - honey anon
HI BESTIE!! I'm so happy you liked the new chapter!💕
Periods are literally the worst, I hope you're having some nice snacks and a heating pack!! 🥰
Walking into movie theaters is literally such a nice feeling 😭 it's so comforting!!
YES SCOOPS BESTIES ARE BACK! You're getting them in the next chapter 👀
"shove that sweetheart up your ass bro after being bitchy all day 😭" LMAOOOO POOR EDDIE HE WAS JUST JELLY
I'm okay! I'm just writing a lot lately and I rewatched all the seasons of gossip girl! How are you bestie?💕

My ranking of the Ice Age Movies
I recently rewatched the Ice Age movies for nostalgia purposes and I thought I'll give my thoughts on them.
Before you read! This is just my opinion! All of these films have a place in my heart and I love them all!
5. The Meltdown
Tumblr media
Okay, I know that people will not like this but to me this movie just isn't special. Don't get me wrong! All of the Ice Age movies hold a place in heart but this one just has no special place in it. The only thing in this movie that stuck out to me was Ellie, Ed and Crash's first appearance, but aside from that, nothing much else. In fact, before I rewatched the film I couldn't even remember what it was about (besides Ellie and the brothers first appearance, of course).
Yeah, it's good, it's got a place in my heart, just not a special one.
4. Continental Drift
Tumblr media
Now, this one was difficult!
The reason this one ranks above 2 is because, for me, it's more enjoyable and easy to watch and the introduction of Granny and Shiera makes it worth while. The reason it was so difficult to rank is because of nostalgia. I remember every fortnight going over to my nans house and watching this film on repeat and replaying my favourite parts. So that kinda made it more difficult to place it. But after thinking about it, it takes the 4th place for me.
Besides from the nostalgia and the new characters and its enjoyability, there was nothing else that catches my eye with this film.
3. Collision Course
Tumblr media
Okay, hear me out.
I know this one isn't most people's favourite but I think it's good. The main reason it's as high as it is, is because of Buck and Granny, they are my favourite characters so their constant presence in the movie made it soo much better. Scrat having more appearances in this film also does it favours. (And the relationship between Buck and that Pumpkin made me realise something about myself that I never realised before).
The family also feels more put together. I don't know why but it feels like an actual family now, not just a bunch of people (mammals) forced to hang out, like in the earlier movies.
Yeah, so it's not my favourite but it's up there.
2. Ice Age
Tumblr media
And the runer up; the og itself!
Again, not everyone's favourite but something about that found family gets me. Especially considering, most of the movie had only 3 constant reoccurring characters (not including the sabers, the humans and those two rhinos). It just felt more homely and familia and nostalgic.
And in top spot....
1. Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Tumblr media
The nostalgia!
Oh, the nostalgia!
I was so excited to rewatch this one, for multiple reasons. One of them being the introduction of Buck but the other being its nostalgia and its familiar feel.
Not to be dramatic but at some points I was on the verge of tears at the familiarity of the film. Particularly the part where Sid drew the faces on the eggs, that part I remember so well and it still makes me happy when I watch it. Very few times have I rewatched a childhood movie and felt the same way as when I was a child, usually I'm just disappointed and wishing I hadn't rewatched the film so I could have the same image as when I was a kid. But not this one! This one is just as great as I remember.
So, do you agree with me or do you think my list is bad? Juat remember, it's just an opinion nothing serious.

Okay with the character bingo, I must inquire about your fandoms bc I don't want to be like "ahh what do you think of this fine lad"
Tumblr media
And you being like :/ idk who that is nice bird tho
Like that would be kinda funny, but also it would be neat to hear about your other fandoms than GA. Like I've seen Go Piss Girl (Gossip Girl, but the only thing I know about that show is that meme 😅), The Office, something to do with spies? And one with characters that have big ol eyes but idk what it is.
In any case, for the time being, what your thoughts about ✨Mikan✨? My impression of her has changed a lot over the years, I first thought she was annoying but now I'm just kinda sad for her :,)
hi!!
yeah i dont watch owl house but im pretty sure thats hunter? if its not im sorry i only know what i see on my dash in passing lol. nice bird tho (hehe)
yeah i like gossip girl! i was at the height of that when i was 13 but its a nostalgic show for me. its not a show that i think too much abt ig. mostly i just quote it all the time w my sister. i have a gossip girl character as my icon now bc i like having matching icons w my sister! we like to switch through fictional friendships/sibling dynamics.
i also LOVE the office and also all sitcoms of that nature (i love parks and rec, superstore, new girl, etc. i love funny shows that focus on sentimental relationships that end up making me ugly cry. i think the office might be my fav but tbh i thought that abt superstore AND new girl before so idk if i even have a fav).
spy x family is a new anime im into these days! its found family and very cute!
and show w big eyes... im not sure which one u mean hhh. i like a lot of anime, my favs being ga (ofc), jibaku shounen hanako-kun, and fruits basket. im also really into the webtoon hooky, which is abt witches.
anyway mikan time:
Tumblr media
ONE OF MY FAV CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME. i talk abt natsume all the time so it might feel like hes my all time fav, but he and mikan actually share that place in my heart.
yes similarly i also felt she was annoying when i first watched the anime (i was twelve when i first got into it). at such a young age i had a tendency to get irritated with the female mcs in media (internalized misogyny, etc) and mikan was 1. loud 2. bold 3. stupid, which are naturally unforgivable traits for a character to have (sarcasm). when i rewatched/reread at 14 i realized that i was looking at her all wrong. around the time i started observing the ga tumblr fandom around age 15 (i only recently started being active in the ga fandom bc i was too nervous before), there was a pervasive idea that mikan was a mary sue.
UGH so let me go off real quick. i will talk way more abt mikan in my next nm essay, but ill summarize some of my ideas briefly for this. mikan’s arc is all about feeling useful, having agency, and how best to help others. she is maybe one of the few characters who undergoes OVERWHELMINGLY negative character development. i dont mean she was flanderized or ruined, i mean that this little girl started developing the idea that she should smile all the time and hide all her negative feelings in order to make OTHERS feel better. this is not good! but its treated like its good, like thats the best choice she can make (this is the actual reason that i only ship her romantically w natsume actually, but ill go into that in my essay). it can be fun for a character to devolve, to make the wrong choice, but this change wasnt treated that way.
another issue is i genuinely HATE mikan having the stealing alice. she should never have had the stealing alice. do i realize thats more than half the manga im talking about? YES. it completely upended her character arc. her nullification alice was so understated! she felt like it was useless and was SO insecure about it. then all of a sudden she has the stealing alice, which can be dangerous, but definitely cannot be called “useless” and her story about uselessness/having a “boring” alice just. falls short. yukas story w the stealing alice was so meaningful and impactful on its own. mikan ALMOST being the next yuka couldve been compelling if it didnt ruin the set-up that the entire first half of the manga was focusing on.
anyway mikan is NOT a mary sue for the above reasons. she is not effortlessly perfect. many people in the manga call her plain. she can be really stupid. she doesnt always save the day. in fact, other people often have to save her, making her feel useless (which is why she shouldve saved natsume. they were each other’s key to resolving arcs and yet. and YET.) she can be loud, brash, bold, and often says the wrong things. she has a really apparent character arc and calling her a mary sue ignores all that. ppl who think mikan is a mary sue are my worst enemy and i will fist fight them.
now ill talk a little about mikan in fanfics bc i think its worth mentioning, especially since i filled out that square abt her being done dirty. like i said, mikan is stupid. im not insulting her. some people are stupid. shes not good at academics. shes a lot more sporty than she is brainy. she rushes to conclusions and doesnt always think things through. shes not really a rational person all the time. fanfics often treat this stupidity as a negative trait to be fixed. maybe shes stupid when shes little but she’ll be a genius when she gets older! look how smart she is now! instead of just letting her be dumb. she has other traits, like deep empathy, athleticism, passion, optimism, that are often sacrificed in fanfic in order to make room for her made up intelligence.
mikan in fanfic (especially if shes supposed to be older) is often painted as more subdued than her loud manga counterpart, more often cynical, introverted, skeptical, etc., and ALWAYS pretty even if SHE doesnt see it (despite being described often as plain in the manga). i have some theories about this.
1: western fans are more comfortable making mikan like a western mc than one more typical of anime. if u think abt what a typical western female lead looks like, she’s usually less feminine, “not like other girls,” a smart bookworm who is cynical and rational. this is familiar so i think a lot of western fanfic writers end up leaning mikan this way even at the cost of making her unrecognizable. so mikan being stupid and loud and optimistic are all traits to be fixed, bc theyre not as familiar in a lead role.
2. fans want to have a mature mikan, and they think theres no way she can keep her childish traits, like stupidity, boldness, impulsiveness, and idealism, and NOT be a child. i find that ridiculous. why cant mikan be a giddy, happy, upbeat adult? why does she have to lose all the traits that make her mikan in order to demonstrate maturity?
3. i might be off base with all of these, but this one... i feel the most strongly about. mikan is the main character. in a lot of stories, the reader is invited to relate to the main character, to project onto her. often, the main character is vague or universal BC imagining her as you is the whole point. fanfic (especially the older fanfic) turns mikan into that easily recognizable and relatable mc we can insert ourselves into.
anyway i have a lot more thoughts on mikan, way more than i could ever say in one post (which is why im doing an essay series) but these are some basic thoughts i have. im sorry its so long.

From what I've seen, S1 is somewhat controversial, fans either love it or hate it. In retrospect, I enjoy rewatching it more than I did the first time because it feels nostalgic to revisit the characters back when they were young and naive and things were much simpler than they become in S2 onwards. Angel (1x7) and Prophecy Girl (1x12) are fan favorites for sure. And I know a lot of people dislike Teacher's Pet (1x4) and The Pack (1x6). I have a soft spot for Out of Mind Out of Sight (1x11) because iirc it's the first episode that shows us that there's more to Cordy than meets the eye (and btw, if you enjoy her character, she's the female lead of ATS, so that's another reason to watch it!)
I've seen it said that s1 is too campy or whatever and sure, it can be, but I give it the 1997 benefit of the doubt and I actually quite enjoyed it. I'm sure I'll back on it differently once I've seen all seasons but to me it's not much different from Doctor Who series 1 and that was almost a decade later with about the same special effects and campiness. And I love series 1! Ninth Doctor ftw.
I feel like I actually preferred the monster of the week eps over ones that got back to the overarching plot of The Master and even over the Angel one. Don't get me wrong, they were interesting to watch but Angel's ch and backstory are quite predictable from a modern lens and the overarching plot of season 1 is meh. Maybe it's because modern TV is so serialized but I find the monster of the week format refreshing and I thought the ideas were interesting enough, for the most part. Always a bit of mystery, a bit of horror, and a bit of lit analysis going on about what the metaphor is this week. I enjoyed that. But I imagine the larger plots get more intricate as time goes on, if only because that's how TV evolved at large at that time.
For example, I find The Pack oddly fascinating! Disturbing, yeah, but it's a compelling piece of television and it made me think a lot more than the Angel ep. 1x11 was a good one too, and I also liked seeing more of Cordy and have her be more of a character rather than just a stock queen bee bully. Good to hear she's a main in ATS! I heard she was in it but to find out that she's the second lead is interesting.
I'm done with s2A now Anon (as in up to 2x13) so if you want to send some thoughts in I'd love to read them. Favs of this era, flops? Let me tell you I did not expect Spike to show up so early on and I did not expect that attempt at a British accent from James Marsters. I hear he gets better and by god I hope he does because I enjoy him as an actor and the accent is distracting at times. Also did not expect Seth Green to show up this early.

Wondering whether other adhders like or hate repetition, or if it varies from person to person. I have so far found out that almost every autistic person I have talked to, prefers repetition. By this I mean they listen to the same song over and over again, watch the same movie or series several times in a row (in a span of days or weeks etc.), keep going back to read the same fanfics over and over again...
This kind of behaviour is very bizarre for me. I get really understimulated if I even think about doing so.
With songs I kinda experience misophonia because I have misophonia for repetitive noises. They make me feel really uncomfortable, and it just feels so wrong that when a song ends, it immediately starts over. It just was not meant to be played that way! I do this only when a really good song is released and there is not more songs to listen to (yet), and I can't get enough of it, so there's nothing else left than to keep listening to that one song over and over again until my head stops playing it. But if there are artists who only release one song every now and then? I usually don't listen to their music, because I like having albums with many songs because I get bored with just one or two songs so fast. Sure with music I have the same bands and albums I listen to from year to year, but I often can take months or even a couple of years during which I don't listen to some of them at all. Right now I haven't listened to music properly since... lasy autumn. A few weeks ago I did listen to something new, but only because it was good background music for writing a report for school apparently.
What comes to films and series, I do rewatch stuff, but often there has to be months or even years before I do so again. Films that have really complex plots, those I might rewatch sooner too. There are also many that I have rewatched many many times, but I've done so because they are something I have seen as a kid they've already become nostalgic for me and they feel safe and make me feel good because of the nostalgia. Sometimes I don't even have any real opinion on them, I just grew up with them and they feel like siblings to me, but I have no particular emotions towards those movies (apart from some). But with most I just can't get myself to rewatch something that quickly (unless I for some reason hyperfixated), especially if there are many very understimulating scenes in the film, which then immediately make me feel like I don't feel like rewatching that film just yet. The understimulating scenes are too fresh in my memory so even the interesting and favorite scenes are not worth it, and I can always watch the fave scenes from youtube anyway if I really need to see something specific.
Books I have reread, but that's because I'm so bad at finding and starting anything new. I simply don't know what I like to read, but I still have the need to _read and the need to have a book I can grab if I suddenly have the urge to read. And often I've just started the same book series over because there I at least have had several books to read and didn't have to think about what to read next until I was done with the series. And then I was done, wanted something to read, and started over because "there's nothing else interesting enough to read anyway".
I don't know if I have ever really reread fanfiction apart from the normal 2-3 times I read before I feel like I'm ready to leave a comment. The common adhd mood for me is that if I have read it once, I have seen it already, and it's my time to look for something new. I only reread my own stories, but it's because I'm the only person writing the kind of fanfiction I want to read, and I hate the fact that I need to read my own fanfics. But no can do, and after a while I get really fed up with them too because I already know and remember everything and there's nothing new for me and it starts tasting so dull.
I think the only thing I actively reread is comics, but it's because there are thousands of little stories in form of comic strips and some of them are so funny I never get bored at laughing at them. But that's a whole different thing. I seem to like "repetition" only when it really makes me laugh. Which is why I never get bored with Monty Python, either, cos I always laugh at the same jokes. But apparently with anything else but humour, I get understimulated really fast and repetition is not an option unless it happens much much later. Maybe the laughing is related to dopamin or so, idk...

okay, okay. i recently rewatched all of lotr extended edition, and, previously, i have had nothing but praise for these films throughout my life. i'm a film inductee to the tolkien legendarium (because i was barely more than a fetus before the films even existed), and now that i'm not clouded by nostalgic idealization, i have to say, there is absolutely some undeniable cringe in the films.
i have unapologetically brutalized the hobbit films in review (and i'll do it again) for having completely bastardized the book, and tolkien lore as a whole, of which they are based upon. but you know what, it's ever so slightly hypocritical for me to hate those films for that reason, and yet have nothing but praise for the lotr films.
don't get me wrong, the hobbit films are still, by far, the greatest offender to the bastardization of tolkien. but the lotr films have themselves some good ol' theatrical-specific nonsensical cringe. like the army of the dead. or arwen dying for literally no reason whatsoever.
although... hey, at least the deviations from canon in lotr are based on other timelines that do occur (arwen choosing to die after aragorn dies; the oathbreakers still existing as an actual concept, though not employed as an army within the books.) whereas with the hobbit films they're just like "fuck it, it's garbage but you'll pay to see it (image of peter jackson spitting on tolkien's grave ((father and son alike))).
there's also the matter of the cgi. by god, it's horrific in the hobbit, innit? they rely so heavily on cgi, whereas with lotr it seemed more dedicated to locale, set building, prosthetics, and props, to provide a realistic experience. i suppose that's what happens when you start pulling absolute garbage out your arse to make a a three part film "epic" based on a children's novel and stretch your budget and resources thin as you run out of source material.
i recall a retrospective interview with viggo mortensen where he recounts how peter jackson had started shifting towards cgi by the time the filming for rotk came around. maybe that in itself speaks to why i feel rotk to be the weakest and most lore-deviated of all the lotr films. you start relying on cgi as a director too much and you go all funny in the head. i've seen it happen too many times, mate.
so, in conclusion, the lotr films do contain some cringe, but they still try to pull from the source material in their deviations. the hobbit films are garbage giant middle finger in the face fuck you.
i really do hope my death comes before the tolkien estate is badgered enough for the rights to the silmarillion that they eventually relent. i am already living in an awful timeline where amazon is making an off-plot adaptation of lotr and finely skirting the edges of what they can and can't portray by abusing the lotr appendices.
god, i'm so sad about christopher tolkien. still.
