𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚
𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 | 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝟑
⤷ gender neutral, Valyrian blood (dragon rider), and any size reader. Requests are open, thank you for reading!
a/n: I kinda personified this group of dragons more than I have with the others...
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ | ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ ᴵᴵ
Tumblr media
𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐑
・You're actually apart of the royal family, your siblings already having bonded with either eggs from their crib or great beasts already living
・It felt embarrassing being the only one without a mount. It was true that not everyone in your family were dragonriders, but you didn't want to be anything but a dragonrider.
・You had heard stories of untrained dragons and with great bravery or stupidity, you went to find one
・Sheep Stealer and Grey Ghost have always stayed out of each other's ways. Not knowing what kind of dragon the other is (especially when the other wild dragon was a CANNIBAL)
・So neither Sheepstealer nor Grey Ghost stay in the Dragonpit
・With you, Sheepstealer is a lot more soft. It took time to build up that trust and reliance on one another.
・But once he realised that you weren't going to hurt or leave him, then the bond became one of the deepest ever seen
・When you're dreaming, it's as if you're in Sheep's head. Not controlling him, but seeing things from his eyes.
・And you can feel each other's emotions (like all dragon riders and their dragons) but it feels a lot deeper
・His favourite song would absolutely Sweet Carolina by Lana Del Rey. It would actually make him cry.
Tumblr media
𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐘 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓
・Doesn't like to share food (not that you'd eat his food? Never once have you tried to either. But every time he's eating, he you're near - he frowns and grunts)
・He was just used to being independent and fighting for his food.
・It took a long time for him to warm up to you. Not liking human interactions
・Knows many, many good secret hide outs... you love hiding in them with him. You aren't a people person either
・Once bit a handler... on the butt. It sounds comedic, but there was blood everywhere and holes in the man's buttcheek.
・Your father had to spend a lot of money for the man to be healed.
・(Grey Ghost wasn't chastised, your father too thought it hilarious)
・No one is allowed near Ghost except for you, I'm talking even existing near him.
・He likes his personal space
・Ghost actually got a bit of colour once you spent more time flying. He turned a beautiful silver instead of a dull grey and had a bit of a glimmer to his scales
Tumblr media
𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐗
・A pyromaniac; likes to hear the command 'Dracarys' (it's the fastest one he responds to)
・Likes hitting you with his tail and when you turn around to look at him, he's obviously looking somewhere else - but his lil dragon laugh gives him away
・But you got used to it and remember to duck everytime your back is towards him
・Is very competitive, especially against Arrax, who is the closest in age to him
・Crushing on Morning; likes her pretty pink scales. You know this because he rolls in anything pink (especially pink flowers)
・Would love country music unironically.
・Gives Dennis the Menace vibes but he is acutely aware of the trouble he causes. Loves chaos.
・Likes to gently bite your shoulder when your attention isn't on him
・IS afraid of cats. Pretends he's not but once when he was a baby dragon, your pet kitten swiped at him and from then on he was terrified...
・Vermax loves being called a "beautiful boy," "handsome man," etc but DO NOT DO IT IN FRONT OF ANYONE, HE WILL GET EMBARRASSED.
Tumblr media
𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐀𝐗
・Bit shy for a dragon, still courageous and honorable. But prefers to be away from ... everyone
・Does like Tyraxes though; they seem to have similar souls. Some say they could've come from the same clutch of eggs
・Definitely a Libra or Pisces.
・For a long time he was scared of getting into trouble. But you've been working on it ... constantly reminding him he's a goddamn dragon.
・When Arrax is happy, he makes a trilling noise and the red scales/flaps on his neck and head shimmy
・Vermax has made fun of him for it but Moondancer growled at Vermax (therefore he never made fun of him ever again)
・LoVES LAYING HIS HEAD IN YOUR LAP. A very affectionate dragon, loves pets, being brushed down, having his wings gently touched.
・It's safe to say his love language is physical touch
・It took some time for him to be a confident flyer. But once he took off, he never looked back.
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐘𝐑𝐀𝐗𝐄𝐒
・A good boi, a very good boi. Does as he's told because his trust in you is unwavering
・When you look into his eyes, they almost seem ... human. They're a beautiful blue/green colour and seem to stare into your very soul
・You realised that at a young age, and swore to treat him exactly how you'd like to be treated
・Has youngest sibling energy (but the kind where the parents have a bunch of older children and for some reason have a baby in their 50s by accident)
・So technically youngest but basically grew up as an only child vibes
・...Loves baths. Like proper baths. You would bathe him as a little dragon. A tradition you and your mother started (because you, yourself hated bathing. So poor Tyraxes was subjected to it as well)
・Now that he's grown ... well ... the blacksmith had heavy pockets and no extra time on his hands for quite a while
・When the bath tub arrived just on the outskirts of the dragonpit, Tyraxes' tail wouldn't stop thumping. He knew exactly what it was for
Tumblr media
𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆
・Aquarius asf
・Always pliant when it comes to be saddled up. Very good girl, you trained her yourself (or you were there for the majority of it)
・From a young age you found yourself talking to her as if she could understand you perfectly well. And now you still do it;
・She gives huffs and chuffs in response, smoke coming out of her nose when she heavily disagrees with something
・Knows about Vermax's crush on her but expects a lot of romantic gestures.
・She's also an Aquarius so they're pretty difficult to shack up with; their independence is highly important to them.
・Like a dog with bad experiences with men, Morning can sense when a person is trustworthy or not
・If they aren't ... SCORCHED. If they are ... UNSCORCHED.
・Literally takes it upon herself to administer justice
Tumblr media
𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑
・Quite calm in stressful situations
・Definitely more than you - not trying to be shady to you but Moondancer seems to know exactly what to do in like ... every situation?
・Nuzzles you with her nose
・Does adore when you clean her horns, I mean they're PEARLESCENT! (or chrome, however you want to see it)
・Absolutely adores music and will fly you to towns that are having festivals. (She's learned from experience that she can only fly over the top of the crowd and sit from afar...there have been some messy incidents in the past)
・Seems calm but is VERY overprotective of you. Will let you handle arguments until she can feel your heart racing and then she jumps in
・Likes adventure but not dangerous adventure. More so like finding pretty fields or lovely waterfalls.

The Name of the Wind 3
Find the series masterlist
I know this is a bit late BUT this is still for @glitterypirateduck challenge. This is not the last chapter of this story, but it is the last chapter that will be using prompts from the challenge. This chapter used "Do you trust me?"
Warnings: Swearing, wooing, someone is a little oblivious, flying, dragons. Oh, and two new/familiar characters show up.
Word count: 1.8k
Tumblr media
Weeks passed. You learned your way around and met the other people who lived there. Not just the riders, but the kitchen staff too. You learned how everything worked, when to eat, where to wash up. Everything.
It was different from how your life had been before, but different didn't mean bad. Not in this case.
You never heard another word about your would-be husband. And you certainly didn't ask - that would be inviting trouble.
The hardest thing to adapt to was the most integral part of your role here.
The dragons.
Caba was very calm every time you interacted with him… which was quite a bit in the beginning, as Alejandro used him to demonstrate how the harnesses went on and where they wore the most. Caba didn't mind being used as a show model, remaining calm around you.
Unfortunately, that could not be said of every dragon.
The youngest dragon in the garrison, a blue female, actually knocked you off your feet when you met her. Her rider was apologetic, helping you back to your feet. The freshly-chastened dragon drooped like a misbehaving pup while Caba oversaw the fitting process for her harness.
You did not get knocked over a second time. But it did take multiple washes to get all the mud off you later.
After that little incident, Caba or Alejandro was around for every new dragon you met. You weren't sure if you were flattered, or disgruntled.
Perhaps the most interesting thing to you was how self-contained the garrison was. Supplies came from the capital regularly, but the garrison otherwise seemed to be run by Alejandro. He oversaw everything, from training to rotations to travel. He didn't seem to need to ask anyone above him for anything, which seemed both curious and, if you were being honest, appealing.
An honest man, with a sense of humor, who treated everyone well and didn't place himself above the others? And one who was also competent and ran his garrison well?
Honestly, you were surprised he didn't have a spouse already.
(He didn't. You knew because you'd caught some of the younger riders gossiping.)
You were, however, surprised when he approached you after breakfast one day. You didn't always sit at his table, only sometimes. Usually when he or Rodolfo flagged you down. This was the first time he had approached you, usually summoning you to his side instead.
“How much work do you have today?” He asked, walking next to you as you put your dirty dishes in the bins.
“Not a lot, nothing urgent,” you responded slowly. You had a custom order you were excited to work on, but that could wait another day. Especially if Alejandro needed you for something.
He flashed a grin at you, nearly making your knees wobble. “So you have time free.”
“I do,” you agreed, eyeing him. “Why?”
“Do you trust me?” He stopped in the hallway, turning fully to face you.
You nodded slowly, looking at him. “I do.”
“Meet me outside in twenty minutes. Wear something warmer.” He held your gaze, magnetic and unavoidable.
“Okay,” you agreed, soft and a little surprised. But you hadn't lied. You did trust him.
At least enough to trust that he wouldn't toss you out of the overlook, or anything like that.
It took very little time to grab a warm coat and gloves, since you weren't exactly sure what you were going to be doing. The walk outside was full of the typical bustle of the garrison - you passed riders going every which way, and as you passed near the kitchen, the chatter and chinking of washing reached your ears.
It was amazing to think about how quickly this had become home to you.
Alejandro stood outside next to Caba, waiting on you, dressed in his riding leathers. You allowed yourself only a moment or two to let your gaze wander over the well-fitted leathers before looking to the dragon instead.
To your surprise, he wore a modified version of his harness.
“We don't need the full harness,” Alejandro said, having correctly guessed your line of thinking from the surprise in your face and the line of your gaze. “Not for this.”
“And what is this?” You asked hesitantly, stopping in front of him.
Alejandro grinned, bright and pleased, with only a little humor. “You said you trust me.”
“I do,” you reiterated, only to squeak when Alejandro grabbed your hand and pulled you to Caba. “What–?”
But Alejandro offered no answer beyond stopping next to Caba, who had obligingly laid down to make his shoulder not entirely out of reach. Alejandro knelt and patted his thigh.
“You can reach the straps to help pull yourself up,” he offered, watching you. “It is easier if you have a boost to start.”
You stared at him for a moment before turning your gaze to the dragon. “What?” You squeaked.
Alejandro did his best not to laugh at you, lips clamped together even as his shoulders shook. “Up you go,” he encouraged, hints of laughter in his voice.
You thought about protesting, but, well. You did trust him. So you took a deep breath and used his proferred thigh as a step up. Your ascent up Caba's shoulder was not graceful, but you also didn't slide back down. You'd take that as a good thing. You felt very high up, sitting on his back as you were.
Alejandro climbed up after you, making it look easy. He sat behind you, his thighs bracketing yours. You swallowed, suddenly quite warm.
“Hold here,” Alejandro murmured, low and close to your ear, reaching past you to pull on a strap. You grabbed it tight, partially to hide the shaking in your fingers. “Don't worry. I won't let you fall.” One of his hands settled at your waist. You sucked in a sharp breath, partially disguised by the sudden movement under you as Caba got to his feet. You rocked with the movement, startled.
Caba didn't give you any time to adjust, though. He just started away from the garrison, using the open flat space to gain some speed. Massive leathery wings snapped out at his sides. You squeezed the strap tighter at the first sweep of those wings, feeling unsteady but for Alejandro's solid presence at your back.
One more downsweep and Caba launched into the air, the pressure pushing you back against Alejandro. He held firm, his grip on your waist reassuring.
Caba leveled out soon after, the pressure easing. Wind whipped in your face, cold but clear. You blinked rapidly as you adjusted, breathing in slowly.
Alejandro squeezed your waist gently, His head close to yours as he shouted to be heard over the wind. “Look now.”
You did, and gasped. From here you could just barely see the coast, blue stretching for miles and miles. The river valley below seemed very far away, though the river sparkled where it came down from the mountains and snaked across the land. You couldn't look down for long, though, before you started to feel dizzy.
But you didn't fear falling. Not with Alejandro pressed up close behind you as he was.
It didn't take long for your nose to go nearly numb, the cold wind seeping your warmth. No wonder the riders all wore leathers and fur up here. Your hands did go numb, fingers still clenched tight around the strap.
“See? Not so bad, hmm?” Alejandro sounded smug, his voice rumbling against your back and in your ear, even as his breath warmed your skin.
You just laughed, leaning back slightly, trusting him to keep you safe.
And he did.
You had no idea how long Caba flew the two of you. But he didn't go far into the valley before turning for the coast, making a big loop. From this height, you could see the town you'd left behind weeks ago, as well as a couple other garrisons, notable from the other dragons in the air. From this height, everything seemed small, even your lingering worries.
Eventually, he angled back towards the garrison, gliding down at a gentle angle. Alejandro's hand at your waist encouraged you to lean back further, your back pressed to his chest, until Caba landed. The big dragon chuffed and continued walking, wings setting against his back again.
You blinked, confused, but Alejandro just chuckled. “You're back early,” he called to someone up ahead, the hand on your waist tightening briefly.
“For once,” another man called back. You spotted a dark-haired man standing up ahead, another scruffier man by his side. Caba stopped a short distance from the two, and Alejandro swung one leg over to face them. He did not get down, however.
“Need a ride back to the capital, then?”
“S'pose so,” the scruffier man answered, gaze on you. “You offering?”
Alejandro chuckled. “I will arrange it,” he said, though you noted he didn't offer to do it himself. “Come inside, have something to eat.”
“Gonna introduce us?” The scruffier one asked, still peering up at you.
“If we see you at dinner.” Alejandro didn't offer anything else as Caba started walking again, leaving the two men behind to make his way back to the cavern entrance.
“Who were they?” You asked, undeniably curious now.
“Nobody of import.” Alejandro waited for Caba to lay down again before he slid down the dragon's side. “Here. I'll help.” He held his hands up to you, watching closely.
You eyed the distance down, biting your lip. He hadn't led you to harm yet. It did take a few moments to unclamp your hands, fingers aching from being locked in position for so long, but then you carefully swung a leg over and slid down. Alejandro caught you, making sure you didn't land too hard and holding you upright when your knees wobbled.
“Alright?” He asked quietly, giving you a quick once-over.
“Yeah.” You smiled up at him. “That was… incredible. Thank you.”
“I will take you as often as you wish.” His smile was smaller than usual but brighter, happier.
“You don't mind?” You couldn't help the note of hesitancy, of shyness.
“Not if it's you.” He leaned closer to you, until you were firmly bracketed between Caba at your back and Alejandro at your front.
Your breath caught in your throat. He was so close and so warm.
Caba rumbled, something you felt more than heard, vibrating against your back. You startled, turning your head to try to figure out what was going on.
Alejandro sighed and backed off. “Sit with me at dinner tonight,” he invited, gently taking hold of your hand, rubbing some of the ache from your fingers.
“Okay,” you agreed, a little dazed still.
He smiled again, that small but sincere smile you were quickly becoming attached to, and took a step back. Another, and he released your hand, and turned to go.
You stood there, needing Caba's silent support, for longer than you wanted to admit.

Noble Blood - Chapter Four
hello again friends! sorry the wait between chapters was so much longer than the last two. life has been..... messy, to put it lightly. but the chapter is finished now and i'm posting it before i overthink it too much. i hope you enjoy!
fic masterlist here | read on ao3 here | wc: 2.4k | cw: gender neutral reader, gojo being a drama queen, a little bit of yaga slander (by gojo), that's pretty much it.
Tumblr media
Not much changed after the new year’s festival. Satoru went back to his training sessions with Yaga while you and the rest of your friends attended school and filled your free time however you saw fit.
Winter quickly turned to spring, and before you knew it, the sakura trees were in full bloom, the soft pink-white petals dancing on the breeze and covering the streets, the delicate perfume from the blossoms filling the air and making everything seem brighter.
All of those things also reminded you of the sakura tree that grew outside of Satoru’s bedroom, and it made you miss him even more than you already did. But springtime had a habit of bringing hope and with it, and you allowed yourself to imagine things would get better soon, and you would be able to spend your days with Satoru as you used to.
It felt almost too good to be true when you stepped out of your house one morning to see Satoru and Shoko waiting for you outside.
“Thank god you’re here,” Shoko said. “He’s been driving me nuts while we were waiting. Says he has big news, or something, but that’s all I can get out of him.”
“Because we don’t have everybody here yet!” Satoru said, sticking his tongue out at Shoko before turning back to you and smiling brightly. “C’mon, we have a couple more stops to make.”
Unwilling to question how or why your friend was able to come down from the estate and spend time with all of you again, you nodded, following eagerly after him as he headed off down the road, presumably to pick up Utahime, then to see the Nanami siblings.
“Do you have any idea what he’s on about?” Shoko asked, leaning in a bit closer to you as the two of you followed the boy.
The only thing you could think of was that Satoru had finally decided to tell the rest of your friends that he had Kenji, regardless of what his parents wanted; he’d bonded with Kenji nearly three months before, and you were the only person outside the Gojo clan – besides Yaga – that knew Satoru had his dragon.
“None at all,” you told her, offering an apologetic smile.
She sighed, rolled her eyes. “I bet it’s not even anything important, he’s just tired of being cooped up at home and he wants us all to pay attention to him again.”
You said nothing in response, knowing that she was going to be absolutely floored when she found out about Kenji, though stifling your laughter over her words was hard.
“Are you guys talking about me back there?” Satoru asked, glancing over his shoulder at you and grinning. “I am the most interesting person you know, after all.”
“We’re talking about how annoying you are,” Shoko said, and her words were made even funnier by her completely deadpan delivery. Satoru scowled at her, sticking his tongue out for the second time that morning, and this time Shoko returned the gesture. All you could do was laugh at them.
It wasn’t long before the three of you reached Utahime’s house, and Shoko volunteered to be the one to knock on the door; Utahime and Satoru were friends, yes, but if she only saw him and didn’t know that anyone else was with him yet, the odds that she would shut the door in his face were high.
Utahime looked past Shoko with narrowed eyes at Satoru, though her expression relaxed when she saw you standing there with him, and after a moment she stepped outside to join the rest of you.
“What’s the ‘big news’ you have?” she asked your white haired friend suspiciously.
“I can’t tell you yet!” he declared with a grin. “We have to go get Nanamin first.” It was still exceedingly funny to you that Satoru still insisted on calling Kento by a diminutive of his last name, rather than by his first name like the rest of you did. Kento didn’t find it all that amusing, but he never complained about it, either.
And so, off the four of you went, Satoru leading the way while the rest of you followed after him. As you all filed into the bakery, you were greeted warmly by Kento’s father, Ginger perched on his shoulder for the time being.
“Hello, Nanami-san!” Satoru chirped, offering the older man a slight bow in greeting.
“Is Kento here?” Utahime asked curiously.
His father nodded. “Yes, I believe he’s upstairs. Kokoro is resting right now though, I’m afraid. She had a bit of a fever last night and didn’t sleep very well.”
You and Utahime frowned at that and offered your condolences, while Shoko gave a slight nod; her parents, as the healers of the settlement, always seemed to get busier when the seasons changed.
“I’ll tell him you’re here,” your friend’s father said, before turning and stepping out of the bakery and up to his home on the second floor.
As the four of you waited for him, your gaze drifted to the cookies on the display trays; now that spring was well underway, some of the seasonal flavors had come back, and you were happy to see them. There were the plain shortbread cookies, as always, but there were others now, too: petal-pink cookies cut carefully in the shapes of the flowers that flavored them filled one tray, while another tray was lined with circle-shaped cookies you knew to be flavored with the same green tea your mother drank in the mornings. You must have been staring harder than you realized, because next thing you knew, Satoru was poking your cheek to get your attention.
“Hungry?” he asked, somewhat teasingly.
You rolled your eyes at his question. “They’re pretty,” you said after a moment. “I like seeing them every year.”
Satoru said nothing, just gave a small hum in response, but he looked up at Kento’s father with a smile once the man returned to the counter, his son trailing behind him. “Nanami-san, I’d like to buy some cookies before we all head out.”
You blinked at him in surprise, not having expected him to indulge you in such a way. He requested five of the sakura cookies and five of the matcha cookies – one of each flavor for each member of your group – and after tilting his head slightly towards his shoulder, as if he were listening to something, he also asked for one regular shortbread cookie.
Once the treats were paid for and wrapped up, Satoru accepted them and led everyone back outside, insisting he had something important to tell everyone.
“I bet it’s not even actually important,” Kento grumbled, though he did easily accept his share of the cookies as they were passed to him. He took a bite out of the matcha one, chewing it carefully and swallowing it before adding, “He just wants to feel important.”
If only you knew, you thought, but you said nothing; you doubted your white haired friend would forgive you anytime soon if you stole his thunder.
The group stopped once everyone reached the large, gnarled maple tree that stood about halfway between the bakery and the schoolhouse. Without any words being exchanged, Satoru sat with his back to the trunk, the rest of you sitting in a half circle in front of him.
“Will you please drop the theatrics now and just tell us already?” Utahime asked, somehow still scowling as she chewed on her cookie.
Letting out a sigh that was very decidedly theatric, the boy relented. “Fine, fine, I suppose I’ve kept you all in suspense long enough.” He cleared his throat, sat up a bit straighter and, with a grin, announced, “I have a dragon.”
Before anyone even had time to call his bluff, Satoru pulled the plain shortbread cookie from the paper packaging, held it up closer to his shoulder, and said, “You can come out now, Kenji.”
Kenji, who apparently had a flare for the dramatic as much as Satoru did, poked his head out of the collar of the boy’s light jacket, then made a beeline for the cookie, climbing onto Satoru’s shoulder and taking the cookie into his mouth once it was within reach.
“You’re welcome,” your friend pointedly told his dragon, when he got no sort of thanks for the treat. Kenji made a suspiciously mocking sound in response, though he never tore his attention away from the cookie he was nibbling on.
Throughout the whole exchange, your friends stared at Satoru and Kenji, eyes wide and jaws slack, as if unable to believe what they were seeing. Knowing you had probably looked very similar when you first saw Kenji, you had to stifle a giggle.
Shoko, who was sitting closest to you, noticed your muffled laughter, and she turned towards you, still wide-eyed. “You knew?” she asked incredulously. “You knew he had his dragon and you didn’t tell us?”
“He would’ve thrown a huge fit if I told you before he did!” you defended.
“My parents wanted Kenji kept a secret at first,” Satoru added, coming to your defense as well.
“But they still knew before the rest of us did!” Utahime cut in. “How is that fair?”
You didn’t have an answer for that, so you turned to Satoru, hoping your white haired menace of a friend had an answer that would satisfy everyone.
“Because they’re Satoru’s best friend,” Shoko said, before the boy could answer for himself. It was clear in the way she emphasized “best friend” that she meant something else, and though you weren’t sure what, you found your feelings were a bit hurt by…whatever the implication was; the confusion and hurt you felt doubled as you watched Shoko, Kento, and Utahime all exchange a knowing glance. You turned to Satoru then, assuming he would be just as confused as you were, but he’d got a bit red in the face, and was very pointedly not looking at you, instead focusing on Kenji as the dragon practically mauled the cookie he’d been given.
“What’s important is that I’m telling you guys now,” Satoru insisted, still failing to meet your eyes, though his gaze did flash in your direction for a brief moment. “Besides,” he added, “he’s not even that exciting yet. All he does is steal my food and pretend he doesn’t understand what I’m saying to him during training.”
Apparently taking great offense at the snowy haired boy’s words, Kenji turned to face Satoru, making a series of displeased noises that were clearly some sort of complaint.
“You know it’s true— ow!”
At first you were shocked as you watched Kenji bite Satoru on the hand, but you relaxed when you realized he hadn’t actually broken the skin, and you laughed at how smug the little dragon looked, clinging to your friend’s arm and holding the cookie in his mouth as Satoru attempted to shake him off in retaliation for the bite.
“How is training going?” Shoko asked curiously, tilting her head slightly and slowly chewing a bite of her own cookie as she waited for an answer. “I’ve seen your teacher in town some, he seems prickly.”
“Yaga-sensei is sooooo boring,” Satoru sighed dramatically, apparently deciding to forgive Kenji for biting him, at least for the time being. “He makes me do the same exercises every day.”
“Do you and Kenji have those exercises learned yet?” asked Kento.
“No.”
“Then that’s why you keep having to do them.”
“But it’s so boring!”
“What’s his dragon like?” you cut in, realizing then that the one time you’d met Yaga, he had not had a dragon with him.
“You mean Panda?” Satoru asked, his brows furrowed slightly as if he were deep in thought.
“He doesn’t have a dragon?”
“Where did he even get a panda, anyways?” Utahime added, her features pinched together in confusion.
“No, he does have a dragon. The dragon’s name is Panda,” Satoru explained with a small smile on his face. “But I agree, it’s a stupid name for a dragon.”
“I’m assuming Panda is black and white?” you asked, trying to steer the conversation away from possibly dissolving into pointless bickering.
“Obviously,” Satoru replied, rolling his eyes. When he caught the way you were scowling at him, though, he straightened up a bit. “Yeah, Panda’s black and white. He does actually look a lot like a panda, it’s weird.”
“Can he fly?” This time Kento was the one to ask.
“I don’t think so? He doesn’t have any wings, at least, and I’ve never seen him fly.”
As the rest of your friends tossed questions at Satoru about his training, about Yaga, about Panda, just trying to get a feel for how much of his life had changed in the last couple of months, you were more than happy just to listen, but you looked down when you felt something on your leg.
Unnoticed by everyone else – including Satoru – Kenji had made his way across the space between where he and his rider sat, all the way over to you, who he had apparently deemed a better companion for the time being.
You watched with a smile as the dragon steadily made his way up your leg, and you offered him your hand to give him a more direct path to your shoulder. That seemed to be all the invitation he needed, and he quickly scampered up your arm, settling on your shoulder as he finished the last piece of the cookie he’d been given earlier.
After the dragon settled down in his new spot, you made an effort to move as little as possible, not wanting to jostle or upset him at all. You still weren’t sure why Kenji had taken a liking to you specifically and nobody else – besides Satoru, of course – but you tried not to question it too much; he didn’t seem to want anything from you, nor did it seem like he wanted to cause you problems, so you were content to let him seek you out whenever he saw fit. You may not have met your own dragon yet, but having caught the attention of your friend’s solid color dragon made you feel special.
Deep down you also hoped maybe it was a sign that you would meet your own dragon soon, and that maybe you’d be lucky enough to bond with a rare, special dragon, like Kenji.

Dragon racing
Summary: You and prince Bucky decided to do a dragon race.

Prince Bucky x Princess Reader
Tumblr media
The people of your kingdom were mad with joy that the strange but beloved Prince Bucky was coming to your kingdom.
The day the prince descended from the sky on his dragon Belrath, shaking the earth and flattering your mother with compliments, you felt annoyed.
Seeking comfort and peace, for the first time in the hours since his arrival, you went to the Mountain of Snowflakes.
What you didn't know was that the object of your wrath was just a few feet away in the shadows.
"I see you have taken a liking to my favorite resting spot."
The prince's familiar voice spoke to you as he leaned against the wall, his bluish eyes twinkling mischievously.
"It's nice here. Quite and an amazing sight" you answer.
"I don't often get visitors to my little hideaway. I like that you found it." The Prince spoke warmly, the corners of his lips curling in a smile.
"You are a Skylar, the symbol on your jacket is your family wappen, correct?"
"yes" you nod.
"And who may I have the pleasure of speaking with?" he took a few steps closer, his eyes scanning them up and down.
"Y/n" you answer simply.
Bucky paused for a moment, his eyes narrowing at the recognition.
"Ah yes, you are the daughter of Queen Rajendra?"
You nod confirming.
"I've heard quite a bit about you."
His smile returned.
"What are you doing with yourself up here? It's nice to see you are out of your mother's shadow."
"what have you heard?" You ask slightly curious.
A slight twinkle appeared at the corner of his eyes as he looked down at you.
“I heard you’re quite feisty.”
"Yeah, it can be true" you answer.
“A trait we both seem to share.” Bucky spoke softly into the shadow.
His eyes trailed over you lightly, but you saw him smirk.
“You do have a bit of a reputation.”
"Have I ? Which one?" You ask and walk over to a dragon who was watching you both.
The massive beast shifted its weight, its eyes narrowed in curiosity as it regarded you.
Bucky's eyes remained on the pair of you for a few moments, before he spoke again.
"The one that you're a bit of a wild thing. That, and you're a troublemaker." he teased.
"But it's nice to talk to someone who isn't afraid to be bold." he added with a sly smile.
You chuckle " I don't make so much trouble" you say sarcastic.
"I don't believe that for a second."
He leaned against the wall, his arms folded across his chest.
"So, why the sudden interest in a place like this? Are you looking for a bit of trouble to stir?" He couldn't help but smirk.
"Maybe. Do you want to race with me, a dragon race?" You ask with a mischief gaze at him.
Bucky’s smile only grew wider as he considered the offer.
“Well now that’s an offer I can’t refuse, though you do know my dragon is faster, don’t you?”
"oh, don't underestimate my dragon, I think he can keep up with your dragon, maybe even a little bit more." You say with a smirk.
“Very well, let’s see if this little dragon can keep up with my Belrath.”
Bucky’s face broke out into a devilish grin.
“I won’t be too easy on you.” he added with that same mischievous tone.
"don't be. That wouldn't be funny"
Bucky shrugged and turned abruptly, beginning to walk out of the massive cavern.
"Belrath is waiting outside."
He turned his shoulder to see if you were following.
You follow him and as you walk outside you call your big ice dragon.
For a moment, Bucky stares over at you and your massive dragon. If he was impressed by the sight then he didn't show it, however, a slight smirk was still evident on his lips.
"I have to say, I've never raced against an icy dragon before."
He mounted Belrath and waited for you to do the same.
You chuckle " it would be funny" you say and smirk then you sit up on icefire.
"Well, I suppose we should get started then, unless you want to back out?"
He smirked widely, watching you mount Icefire. Belrath rumbled a low grumble- as if to say they wanted the race to begin as well.
"I never back out" you answer and give icefire a signal to go in the sky
As soon as Icefire took off, Belrath took to its own speed. The massive beast surged up into the clouds with tremendous speed and force.
The Prince was quiet as his eyes remained fixed on the massive white dragon that flew alongside them.
The ground became a blur below.
Then you make a very rare and risky turn around Belrath and Bucky can hear your giggle.
Belrath gave a loud hiss as it felt the icy wind brush past it.
Bucky was quiet for a moment, his face twisting in an almost mischievous grin as he heard the laughter.
He looked forward, he could see the snowy mountains looming closer and closer.
You give icefire a signal to be as wild as he wants and you tighten your grip on the seat.
Belrath roared a deep, throaty rumble as its talons reached out in front of the other dragon in a wild manner.
The prince grunted as he struggled to keep control of his dragon.
In a moment of pure instinct, the Prince gave his dragon a deep command: 'burn.'
Belrath's head swerved sharply towards Icefire, as a small, orange flame shot at the Icy dragon.
Before you can comment anything to icefire he handles himself and dives into the sea before overtaking Belrath.
As the Icy Dragon dove into the water, Belrath roared in defiance as it chased the dragon down.
The prince's face twisted in concentration as he fought to keep control of his massive dragon.
He could hear your laughter above, as if you were enjoying yourself.
Then you both land at the same time on the massive mountain road.
Bucky sighed with relief as Belrath touched the ground. He jumped abruptly as he dismounted, the dragon still breathing like a raging fire.
He walked over to you. As he approached, all of the humor in his eyes faded into a serious expression.
"That was a foolish gamble, but I like that."
He paused for a moment.
"You've got fire in you, the same as me." He said with almost a chuckle.
You chuckle slightly and get down from your dragon. You softly pet icefire before icefire relax.
Belrath let out another low murmur as Bucky turned his attention back to the large, white dragon beside him.
He looked at you curiously, his face shifting in a thoughtful manner.
"That dragon of yours is quite impressive, where did you find your beast?"
"Deep In the mountains "
Bucky's eyes stayed on the massive, white dragon. He seemed oddly interested in the creature.
"Hmm...That's quite interesting. Most of the dragons we find in the mountains look much different than yours."
"He is different, he spit blue fire" you answer proudly.
Bucky couldn't help but smirk, as he stepped closer to the beast.
"Blue fire? Now that's an interesting sight indeed."
He ran a hand against the creature's face.
"How old is he?" Bucky  asked curiously.
" i think he is maybe 100 or a little bit older"
"And how is it that you tame such a beast?"
Bucky  stepped back from the creature, his eyes still studying it as he spoke.
"Taming dragons from the mountains can be extremely difficult."
You shrug your shoulders " icefire has seen me playing with the wolfs and then he followed me"
"He chose you." Bucky spoke softly as he looked down at the dragon.
"That's impressive, I don't know how many could say their dragons followed them on their own accord."
You nod.
"That's good to hear." Bucky stepped back from the dragon and looked over at you.
"Your dragon seems very different to anything I've seen. I suppose he's as unpredictable as you." Bucky paused.
"Or are you more of a force of the wild like Icefire?"
"maybe both" you answer with a slight smirk.
Bucky let out an amused chuckle.
"From this encounter alone, I would say you're the more unpredictable of the two."
He gave you a sly smile.
You chuckle slightly.
"You're a bit like me, aren't you?"
He couldn't help but smirk, as he looked over at you.
"A bit of a wild thing. You don't always listen, and you aren't the kind to be a follower."
He paused again.
"I have to admit, that's quite attractive."
You shrug your shoulders " you can ask mother if I'm difficult or not. " you utter, referring to your mother, Queen Rajendra.
A light chuckle left Bucky, as he looked away for a moment.
"I have heard quite a bit about you from your Mother, as well."
His face twisted up in a sly grin, as he turned back to you.
"She says nothing about you is ever easy."
You scoff "i don't cause much trouble"
"Then you must have an interesting definition of trouble."
Bucky's eyes trailed over you slowly.
"The stories that I have heard about you are the exact opposite of what I'm hearing now."
"what have you heard?" You ask slightly curious.
Bucky's eyes stayed on your face, as he paused for a moment before answering.
"That you're difficult, hard to handle, feisty." He paused for a moment, his face turning teasing as he spoke.
"And that you've given your mother numerous headaches."
He smirked, as he awaited your response.
"she is sometimes just too emotional" you utter and roll your eyes.
Bucky chuckled at that.
"I don't believe that for a second."
His face twitched into a playful smile, as he continued.
"I think you must make her incredibly frustrated, in which case I would say you can be a pain in the arse."
He smirked again, a playful, almost seductive glint in his eyes as he spoke.
"What makes you the most annoyed is that you enjoy it."
You try to suppress your smile. " not my fault that they don't understand fun"
Bucky took a step closer, his face turning into a smirk.
"Fun? I'm sure your mother would argue that what you do is nothing more than pure mischief."
"Which, I would completely agree with."
He paused, then let out another amused chuckle.
"And yes, I do believe you rather enjoy it."
"Has my mother told you that you should stay away from me because I'm too much trouble?" You ask curious.
"I believe she did, yes."
He took another stride forward, his eyes still looking down at you with a sly grin.
"She warned me about you, and I believe she may have been onto something."
"about what warned she you, for example, that I would steal your sword if I liked it or rather that I rarely follow rules." You ask and tile your head slightly.
"She warned me about how much of a wild thing you are. How you don't often listen and don't care much for rules."
Bucky paused for a moment, before continuing.
"And she did tell me you loved to steal things." He chuckled slightly, his lips turning into a smirk.
"And you didn't steal my blade, did you?"
"Oh, don't worry, Prince. Your sword is still on your hips" you say with a hint of mischief in your eyes that you couldn't suppress.
Bucky's smile widened. The prince took another step closer, his eyes staying intently on your face.
"Well, you're quite an interesting character. What else have you stolen from me?"
He raised an eyebrow in amusement, as he looked you over slowly. His eyes shifting up and down, before settling on your face again.
"Who said I have stolen something?"
"Your face is a dead giveaway, my lovely dragon rider."
Bucky chuckled as he said that, still looking over at you with a twinkle in his eyes.
"What did you steal?" He repeated with a teasing grin.
"your necklace, dear prince" you say amused and hold it up.
Bucky let out a low grumble, as he stared at you and the necklace in your hand.
"Are you going to give it back, or are you just going to tease me?" He asked with a sly grin.
His eyes stayed fixed on you for a deep moment, as he glanced up at the necklace.
"Don't make me use force, my sweet sweet dragon rider..." Bucky said playfully.
"sure you can have it back" you answer and you hold out the necklace to him.
Bucky took the necklace from your hands, the prince couldn't help but notice the small grin on your face as you gave it back.
He examined it for a minute, before giving you a playful, suggestive smile.
"Would it surprise you to hear that I didn't even notice it was missing?" He asked with a smirk, as he glanced at you.
You grin slightly “Oh I know you didn't notice it, that's why I did it.”
Bucky chuckles softly and steps closer to you, then his hand wraps around the necklace in your hand and before he can react you pull him against you. You hear him slightly gasp, then your eyes meet and for you both stop the time.
Your hands intertwined softly, the necklace still between them. “You know I have missed you, Princess. You should definitely decide to come with me to my kingdom, my heart always longs for your teasing.”  Bucky says, his voice has a lovely undertone.
“You missed just my teasing? Nothing more, Prince Bucky?” You slightly pout.
He grabs you on your hips and pulls you closer, now you both stand so close that nothing fits between you both, you can feel how his chest moves as he breathes your scent in.
“Oh, i have miss you so much, my love. Not just your teasing, your whole being have i missed and your wild side.” he whispers with a gentle undertone in your ear.
This sends a shiver down your spine.
“I have missed you too.”
Bucky reaches his hand to your face and slowly caress your cheek.
Bucky's face softens a bit, as he sees you lean slightly against his hands and he smiles at you, his eyes shining with a deep affection.
He then leans towards you and kisses your forehead in a gesture of tenderness and adoration.
You can feel his strong and warm body against yours and it fills you with a feeling of safety and comfort.
Bucky hugs you again, this time his grip is tighter and warmer and he presses you against his chest more tightly.
You feel his heart beating rapidly against yours and he is breathing slowly, as if both of you are just enjoying the moment of being together without any further words.
Then you take his necklace and put it back around his neck. “There, it is back at his place.” you whisper softly and pet his chest.
“Come, my princess, it's slowly getting dark, we should go back to your castle” Bucky smiles gently at you as he sees how your hair slowly begins to move through the slightly windy evening air.
“Alright, we both should probably go back, you are right.” You nod.
The Prince pulls you closer to himself and places his hands on your shoulders, gently stroking your hair with affection as you both walk back to the castle.
You can feel his warmth and strength around you, making it feel like he is protecting you from the world.
He leans his head on top of yours and whispers to you:
"I am yours, and you are mine…”
“Always and forever “ you end his sentences.

Okay, I can’t get this little snippet out of my head so this is for @plishprincess927 who I know is an Inheritance Cycle girlie from way back
The heat was sweltering in the tent and angry voices buzzed in Anthony’s ears but he drowned them all out. He could still feel the heat of the battle hours ago. He could feel the sweat soaked into his leather shirt under the armour and his ears rung with the clang of swords.
His arm had ached from the shock as he whirled through the field and men fell in front of him, the blood and sweat and grime had felt as though it were caked against his skin. A sword had clattered against his side and he’d pushed his sword through the soldier’s mail shirt with a feral snarl and it had all happened so quickly. He pulled his sword back and as he turned he realised the next soldier was upon him, too quickly. His heart started to pound in his chest as he took a deep breath, almost sure it would be his last when he felt an enormous beat of wind and an almighty roar as fire spread across his vision and the golden dragon’s scale glittered in the sunshine as it landed and soldier’s fell all around it.
“Anthony, I thought you were supposed to be guarding me, Princeling.”
His heart fluttered in his chest as the woman sat astride the dragon laughed, her dark curls tossed back and her golden sword seemed to glitter as it moved swiftly through the air. She leapt from the dragon driving soldiers back from Anthony in a wide circle, and he could see the terror in the men’s eyes as they saw her.
“I thought you looked a little bored in truth, Kate.” Anthony grunted, swallowing the panic in his chest, “Where’s your helm?’
She laughed again as her Dragon leapt forward and she caught his saddle, pulling herself up seemingly effortlessly. “I must have misplaced it! Don’t die, princeling.”
The dragon took to the sky, lighting the field with fire as it did, arrows bouncing off his own armour and Anthony bit back a curse as he forged forward.
She was sitting across from him now, her feet lazily on the table, her bracers and greaves still on but the rest of her armour abandoned as soon as she possibly could and Anthony could feel the hot breath of her dragon on his neck where his head was poking through the flap of the tent. The dragon he had sworn to protect when he was only an egg. Long before a farm girl from nowhere had found it. A trick of fate. A trick that had started every moment of turmoil Anthony had felt since.
“Anthony.” He snapped to attention, ignoring the smirk that turned Kate’s lips at the corner and turned slowly towards his mother’s voice. “What say you?”
He swallowed, “The way forward seems well set. We were glad to see your army on the horizon today.”
The murmur had rippled through the battle and he’d recognise the horns anywhere, The elves were here. Finally coming to fulfil the promise they’d made over a stolen egg and a treaty.
His mother’s eyes burned into him as the meeting broke and she turned slowly towards Kate who snatched a chicken off the table and winked as she tossed it towards Newrius, the dragon huffing happily as he caught it. Kate bowed her head, greeting his mother.
“Well met, Rider.” His mother had honoured her, by speaking first and everyone in the room knew it.
“Well met, Majesty. A Welcome sight.”
Newrius tugged on the back of Anthony’s shirt with a wheezy growl that sounded almost like a chuckle as Anthony stumbled and his spine prickled as his mother’s eyes burned into him again as the Dragon teased him.
Without a word Anthony ducked out of the tent, glad of the breeze fluttering through the camp and took off running, desperately hoping to clear his head. The wind whipped past him and the camp disappeared behind him and his lungs burned in his chest. He came to a stop on a grassy hill, trampled flat as the army had retreated and Anthony ran his hands through his hair, squeezing his eyes shut against the pounding in his chest.
This has to stop. This must stop now. You cannot feel this way about-
“You seem very fond of her.”
Anthony sighed at the sound of his mother’s voice, neutral as it always was since the death of his father. “Kate and I have become good friends, these last years. I pledged myself to ensure the survival of her dragon.” He leaned against the tree, “Surely you remember, Mother. You were so against my taking this position.”
His Mother sighed, “I became the queen of our people because you were not ready, Anthony. You were too young, you are still young amongst our kind but… You will take your place one day. I had already lost so much, I couldn’t… Well. You never did listen anyway.”
He could feel the weight of her expectations weighing down on him, just as he had then. When she had raged against his choice. “I believe in the cause we fight for. I have a duty to our people, to fight for that cause.”
“And is that all it is now? Duty?”
He should have been expecting the question. He had faced it with so much dread when what he had feared was stirring in Kate’s chest, in the smiles she tossed him across the fire as they travelled to his homeland together was laid at his feet with Kate’s hands gripping his tunic lightly.
His voice had shaken, even then. “Kate, please. You are young, you…”
“I will live as long as you will, Anthony.” Her lips had nearly been brushing his and his chest had ached to lean in and close the distance between them. “You know that as well as I.”
“You will… What you feel… you will not feel forever.”
“Do not do that, Anthony. Do not minimise what I feel for you. What I feel is real and I will love you, as long as I live.”
“This can never be.” He’d whispered it and felt the tears sting his eyes as he turned as walked away, ignoring the sob that broke the night and the growl that rumbled over his head as her dragon caught sight of him.
Anthony swallowed, tilting his chin to look his mother in the eyes. “It is a duty. We all have our duties.”
His mother nodded slowly before she sighed, “She has a destiny, Anthony.”
His stomach churned, “We all have a destiny, Mother.”
A wry smiled crossed her face, “Yes. That is true. But not every destiny involves the fate of every person in this land. I do not think I need to remind you how very disastrous it would be were she to be distracted from this task.”
“No, Mother.” Anthony said quickly, his heart pounding in his chest. “You do not. I’m sorry, I’m very tired and there is much to do for tomorrow.”
He bowed respectfully and strode past her, his boots crunching against the grass as he did. His head was still spinning as the sun set over the camp and the smell of campfires filled the air. He felt exhausted, tired in the very bones of him as he tugged at the laces of his leather bracers approaching his tent. He let them fall to the floor as he swept aside the flap of his tent, stepping inside.
“I don’t think your mother likes me very much.”
He relaxed at the sight of her, lounging in his bathtub, her dark hair damp with the water and she was so beautiful in the candlelight his chest ached. He crouched beside her, pressing his lips to hers gently, “No, she’s disappointed in me. I’m a distraction for you.”
Kate sighed, chasing his lips for a moment, “I would very much like it if you were distracting me. Don’t worry. No one saw me come in here.”
Anthony chuckled, leaning into her touch, “Very well then. I do still have to thank you for saving me today. And Newrius as well I suppose.”
“Oh I wouldn’t thank him,” Kate hummed, “He was very torn about it.”
“I would expect nothing less.”

I finally found the time to read one of the fics that I marked to read later. It was @arialerendeair 's dragon rider fic. It’s great go check it out if you already hadn’t. I binged it in one night and I had to sketch some of the ideas that stuck in my brain after reading it. It was very nostalgic because I remember that 12yo me loved reading Eragon and all the other books from the series. At that time I drew (or attempted to draw xD) a lot of dragons but since then I didn't draw a single one. So yeah, it was time to try it again after roughly a decade.
I probably forgot a lot of details mentioned in the fic so Hob and Dream likely don't look as described... Also, I tried to design Hob's leather outfit but kinda gave up. Drawing Dream was fun though, I tried to design his hair so it would imitate the shape of the horns of his dragon form. Yeah, it’s a bit silly :).

Alex tugs urgently on Kara’s pack, her face suddenly pale. “I forgot,” she says. “There was so much else to catch you up on- Stay away from Lena Luthor.”
Kara raises her eyebrows. “Luthor? As in?”
“As in the Luthor family, as in the sister of Lex Luthor. She’s in the third year, and she’ll try to kill you as soon as she hears that you’ve entered the quadrant. Fuck! They should have just let you go to the scribes, I swear-”
“Lex Luthor led the rebellion,” Kara says slowly. “Why would we ever allow a Luthor within Argo’s walls?”
Alex’s expression is pained. The woman ahead of them is signing the rolls now; time is running short. “All the children of the rebellion were conscripted as well as marked."
"Sure, but a rider? This is supposed to be an honor. Luthor is the heir to a rebellion that killed thousands of our people. She has no right-" Nevermind the fact that it's more obligation than honor for Kara. The thought of a rebel, here, in Krypton's most prestigious order of warriors makes her nearly as sick as the sight of the bridge she's about to traverse.
"Nobody expected her to make it over the parapet,” Alex explains in a rushed whisper. “You should have seen her in her first year; she was a tiny pale thing, a hundred pounds soaking wet. Even if she somehow made it across, everyone figured another cadet would kill her. Revenge for the rebellion, or making a name for themselves, that kind of thing. But the wind failed to take her, and once in the quadrant she stayed a step ahead of everyone. Then she bonded a dragon, so. She’s a wingleader now.”
The hair on the back of Kara’s neck stands up. She’s not sure what a wingleader is, but it doesn’t sound like the kind of role she’d like to see in the hands of a Luthor. “That’s… unfortunate,” is all she says. The last conscript ahead of them is disappearing into the tower.
“She’s sworn allegiance to Krypton, but Kara, she’ll kill you. For what Astra did to her brother, she’ll hunt you down. Stay away from her.” Read the Fourth Wing AU on Ao3

Who remembers my Bridgerton dragons? I kinda want to take that but add in dragon riders.
Orginal post found here
So in this world, there are several different ways one can learn magic so long as they have the talent for it. One of those ways is bonding with a dragon and becoming a dragon rider. The dragons get little diplomats out of their humans since while dragons are are capable of human level thoughts and emotions, some could even take a human form if they wish, they are also often too prideful to do so and too prideful to communicate with others they do not have a bond with. Instead, they let their riders be their translators, an easy thing since part of the bond allows dragon and rider into eqch othe's minds. This has led to more peaceful times between dragons as treaties and trade agreements were made up between humans and dragons.
Dragons choose who they wish to bond with, and due to how dangerous and fickle they can be, potential riders have to wait until their of age to even attempt it. The dragons don't care about human legacies, humans are all the same to them until they find one they like enough to bond.
Lady Agatha Danbury knew this well enough, she remembers how the dragons rejected her foolish husband and scorched him from this earth. Yet she became one of the few female riders when she unintentionally bonded with a dragon that lived near the border of her lands, the alpha of the Ledger Nest.
Agatha
Lady Danbury paused. Her dear dragon sounded very amused and very close. Which was odd since he was supposed to be at the Bridgerton nest visiting his grandchildren and daughter.
Keir? What has you so amused, and why am I missing it?
Lady Danbury could hear her dragon laugh.
Come to the roof, my dear. It appears one of my grandchildren has decided to bond.
No other words were needed as Lady Danbury picked up her skirts and made her way to the roof. The Bridgerton Nest has yet to bond any rider since it formed. While the alpha was not against it in general, riders just weren't something the family oriented nest was interested in. After the death of the previous alpha, they became even more closed off. In fact the only two humans they were ever really around was Lady Danbury herself who has known the nest's queen since she was still under her father's protection and Lady Danbury's godson Simon who struck a friendship with the oldest hatchling.
Lady Danbury made it to the roof, where Keir waited for her on the thick perch. The golden brown dragon moved his front leg to allow Lady Danbury to walk up it like a ramp and seat herself on his back. Adjusting her skits and securing her cane across her lap.
Are you secured, my dear?
"Yes," Lady Danbury nodded.
With Lady Danbury's answer, the dragon took flight.
So which of Violet's brood decided to bond? And who is the unlucky soul to be bonded to them?
Colin bonded one of Baron Featherington's daughters. Kier answered.
Lady Danbury's mind raced through Violet's eight different hatchlings. All of them were of some shade of blue. If she's remembering correctly, Colin was the ocean blue one, making him the third oldest. Her mind also sorted through the Featherington girls. Only two were currently out in society, the others too young. She wonders how one of those two managed it neither were the brightest. Though the second born girl was more agreeable if you got her around the right people.
According to Violet, Baron Featherington's lands bordered on the lands of the Bridgerton Nest, and the girl had become some sort of a family friend.
Lady Danbury hummed. A familiar tale
Keir chuckled. Indeed
So, how does that end with her bonded to one of them?
Colin has not given out his reasons, but the girl is witty, and not afraid to sass a dragon even if she doesn't understand them.
Lady Danbury raised an eyebrow. Witty is not something she would describe either of the older two Featherington girls. From the little she's seen of them, she would save that description for the younger two.
Keir paused. There is a slight problem. The girl has not yet reached her 18th year.
KEIR! Lady Danbury grabbed her cane and smacked the side of her dragon with it. SHE'S NOT OLD ENOUGH TO BOND! DID YOU NOT WARN YOUR GRANDCHILDREN?!
Keir flew downwards, jostling Lady Danbury slightly. She could see the nest closing in.
That's why I came to get you Agatha. You know the human laws. Perhaps you can come up with a solution.
Lady Danbury could see the other dragons now. They were all smaller than their grandfather, and all of them took on a different shade of blue. Two of them were staring each other down. One was a dark royal blue, he was Violet's oldest hatchling, and the current alpha of the nest, Anthony. The other was an ocean blue, Colin, and in between his legs was a sixteen year old girl with red curls. She has to be the Featherington girl, all of them inherited their mother's hair.
Keir let out a roar, signaling their arrival. The rest of them bowed their heads towards the older alpha and opened up a space that led to the new bonded pair.
Lady Danbury climbed off. "Well, let's get a look at you, girl. What's your name?"
The girl squeaked, hurrying herself into a curtsy. "Penelope Featherington."
Lady Danbury walked around the girl. She was rather short and had more curves than the average debutant. Not that the dragons really care. They can carry any human they deem worthy. The girl squeaked again when Lady Danbury pulled at her neckline. Ah, there it is. Over the girls heart is a mark made out of the same blue scales as her dragon. It will take time for it to take its shape, but as the bond develops, so will the mark. Though it is strange that the colors are so vibrant already. Perhaps this bond isn't as new as the others thought.

Fire Dragon Madara...
Tumblr media
Courtesy of this plot..( I already shared this on Discord so people who are there, already know of it )
Modern, Dragon rider AU.
Where Tobirama who wanted to bond and ride a Dragon wasn't slated to graduate the Academy because of one major thing…
He had an acrophobia..
And because of it, no Dragon doesn't even dare to apply to be bonded with him...
Another problem is he really wanted the Ice/Water Dragons who were a known species as Airborne Dragons...
He might have considered getting Grounded ones ( who are the earth powered dragons ). But he didn't dare it cause he doesn't really like to have a bonded dragon like his Brother ( stems from he doesn't want to be compared to his Anija again )...
I'll give a snippet about this AU...
" I don't know why you insist on wanting to ride an inferior species of Dragon. But whatever, Senju. Its not like the Academy will let you graduate as long as you don't have a Dragon bonded to you!.
Tobirama felt a vein popped in his forehead as soon as he heard the voice of the Dragon behind him.
" Shut the fuck up, Izuna. " he whips around and snarled back. He twitches as he sees the other students laughing behind their hands as they gleefully watch the spectacle before them.
The Uchiha Dragon rolled his black eyes and wrinkled his nose. “ There are many perfectly great Dragons out there who would love to bond with you. Why are you limiting yourself to a single species, I would never know “. The Dragon rustled his feathery wings in agitation and Tobirama took a step back in case the Fire Dragon tried to spat fireballs at him again.
Tobirama snorted. " Other Dragons my ass. As if I have them lining up to bond with me. You're not even volunteering yourself, Izuna. So why are you mocking me?! "
The Dragon tilted his head to the side and his feathery ears twitched as he looked up and down Tobirama’s form.
“ But, I did, Tobirama. Me and Aniki had applied to be bonded to you?. “
Tobirama looked stumped. He stared wide eyed at the Dragon who looked so upset at the thought that Tobirama had dared to refuse their bonding application.
The whole cafeteria went silent at the Uchiha Dragon’s declaration. Some students gawked and gaped. Others whispered frantically that it must have been a mistake for an Uchiha to choose a rider who was too incompetent when it comes to riding an airborne Dragon.
Regaining his composure, the Albino straightened, “ I…Are you serious?! “ his brows furrowed as he stared at the sulking Dragon.
“ What do you mean, I’m serious?! Its been a year since we applied. The Council said you rejected our proposal cause you like to be bonded to a Water Dragon rather than any other Elemental Dragons!!! “ Izuna growling and marching towards him made Tobirama backpedal. He put his arms out in surrender and tried to calm down the enraged Dragon. The other students had immediately fled the cafeteria and even some of the Kitchen Staffs had frantically called for Professional handlers in case the young Dragon went out of control.
Izuna, upon arriving in front of the Albino had roared loudly in his face which made Tobirama gaped. The Dragon had then taken a hold of the Albino’s arms to gently shake his whole body. His sharp talons pressing uncomfortably at Tobirama's delicate skin made the young man wince.
“ Izuna!. I swear I didn’t know about you and Madara applying to be my bonded Dragon.! “ Tobirama shouted back as the Dragon looked one second away from frying him inside out. The Uchiha Dragon’s throat had started to turned red and Tobirama knew Izuna would not hesitate to spat a deadly fireball at him.
Consequences be damn, because how dare Tobirama rejected an Uchiha Dragon!..
Izuna immediately pauses in his tirade. He eyed the Albino with narrowed red eyes. His Sharingan spun wildly as he tried to discern if the Human was lying or not. When he couldn’t tell if Tobirama was lying through sight alone. He quickly buried his nose onto the Human’s neck and sniffed the unique pheromones that tells a Dragon if a Human is lying.
Tobirama yelp and stood rigidly as he let the Dragon scent him. He knew technically what Izuna is doing, but the urge to protect his throat from a top Predator is itching at his instinct. The Dragon may have looked smaller than Tobirama in his Humanoid form. But he’s also so much physically stronger than the Human and Tobirama felt his legs shaking as he eyed nervously the huge feathery black wings that gently encapsulate his body.
Izuna quickly removed his face from Tobirama’s neck and he stared wide eyed at the frightened Human. “ Oh. You weren’t lying?. “ his black feathery wings trembled around Tobirama and his Sharingan spun slowly as if he’s drugged?.
“ Um. “ Tobirama was left speechless as the Dragon enthusiastically rubbed against him. Apparently deeming that the Human stiff in his arms is already his to scent thoroughly.
“ Izuna! What the hell are you doing? “ a thunderous voice made Tobirama jump, startled out of his wits. The Dragon in front of him quickly perked up and he stared over Tobirama’s shoulder as he greeted the newcomer warmly.
“ Aniki!. Good news! I found out Tobirama didn’t know we applied as his Dragons!! “, the Dragon chirped in happiness. The furious growl of the older Dragon behind him made Tobirama shivered in fright.
An incredulous snort made Tobirama sweat as he felt the atmosphere became more warmer?...
“ Is he now?. “ The broad hands gripping his waist made Tobirama jumped in shock.
“ Guh, Madara-san! “ he yelped in fright as the Uchiha Dragon slung him over his shoulder without any permission from him. The older Dragon ignored his protests as he strode to the Cafeteria exit. Tobirama tried to ignore the burning stares of the remaining Students and Kitchen Staffs, he felt extremely embarrassed at being carted off like a sack of potatoes.
Izuna peeking down at him with a beaming smile made Tobirama scowl.
This is all Izuna’s fault.
Tobirama doesn’t know how the older Dragon knew Izuna was harassing him again. But Madara overhearing their conversation made Tobirama nervous for who could claim they didn’t know that other Dragons had applied to be bonded to them?. Only an idiot that is and Tobirama is one apparently if he didn’t even hear a whisper of Madara and Izuna’s bonding application
A door being violently kicked open made Tobirama cover his face. He already knew where Madara had taken them. Wanting to regain his already tattered dignity he pretended that he’s just Madara’s unwilling hostage for the moment.
“ Uchiha–sama! What is the meaning of this?! “ an elder from the Council shouted. By the tone of his voice he is highly offended that a Dragon had dared to encroach in an important Council meeting. The other Elders in the Councils muttered amongst themselves in disapproval at the Uchiha Brothers entrance to the Councils Meeting Room.
“ Indeed. My Great Grandson. What is the meaning of this disrespect? “ Tobirama shivered in fright as Otsutsuki Indra’s voice drawled from behind him. Whenever the Ancestor of the Uchiha Dragons spoke he always manages to make people feel like they’re toddlers in his presence.
Madara shifting on his feet and fluffing his wings nearly made Tobirama swallow the Primary feathers that caresses his face. He pokes the wings in front of his face to make them go away. But Madara only pressed them closer over his face and he glowered as he saw Izuna laughing at his distress….
“ I am here Great Grandfather because it seems someone is sabotaging Izuna and mine’s application to be bonded to Senju Tobirama. “ Tobirama heard the Council’s muttering screeches into a dead halt. He too was surprised that Madara had instantly accused someone of sabotaging his and Izuna’s application…which Tobirama who exhaled with a defeated sigh could totally be the reason why he hadn’t even seen their applications mailed to his Home.
