April, May and June Duck - Dutch Comic version
As much as I like Donald's nephews, I certainly don't neglect their rivals, that is, best friends, girlfriends or sisters, as you will. And these are Daisy's nieces named April, May and June Duck.
They first appear in the Carl Barks comic "Flip Decision" on June 30, 1952. Yes, they looked the same back then, just with different colored clothes and almost looked like their Aunt Daisy taking care of them. Fortunately, during the 1990s era in European comics, Daisy's nieces change a bit and change the way they dress. This is especially visible in the Dutch comics, especially in the Duckies edition. Since 1998, April, May and June have been changing their apperance to have different types of hair styles and clothes, and they have slighty different personalities between them. But still, they stick together.
They are the same age as Donald's nephews, they go to school together and go through various troubles and various events with all the virtues and flaws. However, even though they are called Lizzy, Juultje en Babetje which is like April, May and June (in Holland HDL are called Kwik Kwek Kwak). Lizzy or April is the one with ponytail hair and wears a purple t-shirt and sweater, Juultje or May is the one with short hair and a pink t-shirt and sweater, and Babetje is June who wears pigtail hair with a yellow t-shirt and sweater. So I drew them as a redraw from one picture, but unfortunately I don't care for the whole thingto be seen, but maybe another time I'll do it. Unlike the Legend of The Three Caballeros where April is yellow, May is orange and June is purple, in the Dutch comics it is different, April is purple, May is pink and June is yellow. Although I prefer the colors of AMJ in Legend of Three Caballeros, the Dutch version of AMJ is definitely the best version of Daisy's nieces ever in my opinion. And I hope them will be used in other versions.
I hope you like this drawing. Is it possible that I'm the only one who draws this version of April, May and June?

8 years is a long time to think about vengeance. It's pretty clear, Dutch had used the Blackwater money to lure Micah and he had always planned to kill him somehow. Whether it was to avenge Arthur, but I lean more with him blaming Micah for the destruction of his family (though really it was more on Dutch's failure to overcome his ego, insanity, and denial). I really think Arthur was able to salvage some tiny bit of the old Dutch in his final moments. Once Dutch finally achieved in taking down Micah, he completely lost it because nothing was really holding him back any longer. This led to his demise in RDR 1.
Surprisingly he didn't even take the Blackwater money, cause I think he was disgusted by it (seeing that was the beginning of the end). Or he left it for John, because he at least owed him that and I think it was to honor Arthur's wish of making sure John and his family were taken care of.

Once again, I wish everyone a blessed and happy New Year 2024! And to post these great pictures from the official Dutch Donald Duck comics called "Donald Duck Weekblad" (unfortunately I forgot the authors name who drew these great pictures with the duck family), where Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Grandma Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Gyro Gearloose and Gus Goose celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays together. Yes, the second picture shows the duck family wearing Christmas sweaters. Let's not forget the Dutch authors who make excellent comics about Donald Duck, in addition to Italian, Spanish, Brazilian and Scandinavian authors.
I wish everyone happy holidays! If you love these characters and want to make this year a success, feel free to like and reblog this!
