Steve is walking down the hallway towards his math class when it happens.

Someone bumps into him, a girl he only vaguely recognizes, and she reaches out and grabs his hand to steady herself.

His vision explodes with what he knows must be color. Bright shades assault his eyes, shades he doesn't even have names for. His classmates' clothes, the tiles beneath his feet, the homecoming sign above him. Even the lights have taken on a new hue, washing Steve's entire world in something completely alien.

The girl looks as shocked as steve feels. Her eyes are wide, and her mouth drooped open as she spins in a slow circle. She's pretty, he thinks. Short hair, soft features, an unusual sense of style. She's clutching an instrument case, and he thinks that's why he recognizes her.

"Uh," he says, catching her attention. "Hi."

Her mouth opens, closes, opens once more, and then she dashes away from him, disappearing into the throng of students.

He spends the rest of the day cataloging colors. By the time he's climbing into his car (which is a color he still can't name, but has decided he likes) he's found at least a dozen different shades, and he wonders how they all fit into the seven colors he's been told are in the rainbow.

He tells his mom when he gets home that day. She is ecstatic. When Steve admits he doesn't have anything to tell about the girl herself, his mom turns her attention on naming colors for him.

It becomes quickly apparent that something isn't quite right. He'd been so focused on everything that was new that he hadn't realized what was the same. He still sees a lot of grays. Blues, purples, greens,and violets are all still lost on him.

That doesn't make what he can see any less spectacular, though. Oranges, reds, pinks, yellows. The yellows are his favorite.

He'll meet his other soulmate, his mother assures him, as they sit in the backyard, admiring the rich golds and reds of the trees that he can now see, standing out against the gray of the sky he knows should be blue.

He does, about two years later. He's picking Henderson up from school one afternoon, but instead of Dustin climbing into the front seat like usual, the back door swings open violently and not one but two figures scramble into the back seat.

"Henderson, what the fuck?!?"

"Drive!" Henderson screeches, his head popping up between the seats. "Go, go, go!" A hand, not Dustin's, reaches out as the stranger tries to sit himself up and fingers graze his temple as he's peeling away from the curb.

"Motherfucking assmunch-" Dustin is saying, "thinking he can get away with that shit-"

But Steve isn't paying attention, because the trees are green and the sky is blue and the world is suddenly right.

Steve looks into the rearview mirror and meets the gaze of a shocked-looking Eddie Munson.

I don’t have a set opinion on this, tbh - when it comes to fic, I would believe they hate it or would believe they love it, if the writing is good. I get the arguments for both. (E.g. early seasons Mickey would not enjoy it at all…but later seasons Mickey…yeah, he might!)

Right now, I’m leaning towards that I think they kinda like it. I don’t think it’s their favourite thing but I do think they may have gotten into it during the orgy. I think they just had sex with each other while other people watched and they were like….hmmm, that was interesting 😈

They’d be up for it again but I don’t know if I can see them actively bothering to search for sex clubs or something. I think if they happened to end up at a wild party, they’d put on a show. They know they’re hot. They love showing each other off. It’d be fun. And I think, particularly for Mickey, there’s a sense of freedom that is quite exciting.

But also, I do think they accidentally are a bit exhibitionist in their apartment. They never close their curtains and they fuck on the balcony and they’re loud enough to be heard in the apartments either side and when they realise other people can see/hear….they’re just like….ok, kinda hot, let’s keep doing that.

Any word on the server?

Yes! I'm currently setting up Dyno to work properly, writing a rules list and a sort of "introductory form" for y'all to use to get roles assigned/have full server access (just for verification mainly). The framework for the server is pretty much done, so it's just in its final stages right now. It'll probably get some tweaking once it opens up, but that's to be expected with any long-lasting server haha.

Apologies for the silence-- We're currently re-factoring Lighthouse and trying to make it better. The updates have been slow as a result, but we want to get this done now before a medical procedure at the end of the month that will absolutely leave us unavailable for at least a week or two.

Over the past week or two, this is what we've accomplished:

Added an extra dyno for RAM.

Security of certain pages has been made more robust. Nothing happened-- We just had an issue brought to our attention.

Simply Plural and Pluralkit Import are now faster and less strenuous on SP and PK.

Fixed a few spelling errors

The start of our API is now available. Right now, only read permissions will work. We're working on write/delete.

Fixed bug where selecting Italian as your language would cause the site to crash. Removed unnecessary verbiage in Italian navigation bar.

The system pages are now paginated, and show a certain number of alters per page. By default, 15 will show per page. In systems exceeding 150 alters, 50 will show per page. In systems exceeding 200 alters, 75 will show per page. This should fix a bug where very large systems would cause Lighthouse to crash.

You can now delete granted wishes.

You can edit rules. They may occasionally jump around, but that's because we only recently added a “created on” timestamp to properly order them.

In 2022, car enthusiasts all over the United States were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Nissan Z. In the new Z, not 400Z, it seems Nissan answered all of our prayers. Equipped with a 3.0L VR30DDTT Twin Turbo V6 and a 6 speed FS6R31 manual transmission, the new Z34 (Kouki Z34) seemed to fill all the gaps Nissan left in the Zenki Z34 and R35 that left true drivers wanting more. With a power output at an even 400hp (298kw; 406ps) and 350 ftlbs (475 N-m 48 kg-m) of torque, the new Z34 was unlike any of its predecessors and a breath of fresh air in the middle of the ‘Sports Car Electrification Movement’. Nissan then broke some hearts, mine included, when they announced the 420hp, 384ftlb Z34 Nismo would be equipped with a rebadged Mercedes 9G-Tronic automatic transmission manufactured under Jatco as the JR913E and that there would be no manual option for the Nismo Z. Their reasoning: Even with more power, the automatic sport model would be faster in the ¼ mile than a manual Nismo, and they feared consumers would care.

Fast forward to release day, and the reasonably priced Nissan Z saw dealer markups of over $70,000 over MSRP on what could be Nissan’s final true sports car. Somehow, clout and fear of missing out beat common sense and they sold like hotcakes. So much so, that as of the writing of this article, the least expensive USED Nissan Z on the market is being offered at $7,000 above NEW MSRP. Now to bring it all into perspective, if you were an early buyer of a Nissan Z, you’re punching in Audi RS5 Coupe, BMW M4 Competition xDrive, and C8 Corvette territory price-wise, except you likely have cloth seats, less power, and are a good deal slower from 0-60 than your newly priced out competition… and the EFI scientist here at Vivid Racing just can’t let you go out like that.

Ferrari never expected engine failure which ended Leclercs race Vasseur | 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur says the engine failure which put Charles Leclerc out of the Bahrain Grand Prix was completely unexpected. The team changed two parts on Leclerc’s car during the build-up to the race – his control electronics and energy store – after inspecting the data from his power unit. But his stoppage two-thirds of the way through the race caught them completely by surprise. “Honestly we don’t know yet what’s happened exactly,” said Vasseur. “There’s been an issue this morning, we changed the parts, we don’t know where it’s coming from and we’ll have the investigation soon. But it’s too early stage for me to give you a better answer.” During the winter Ferrari focused on eliminating the reliability problems which undermined their 2022 campaign. There was no prior indication of the fault which brought Leclerc’s race to an end. “We never expected to have something like this because it’s the first time that we had it,” said Vasseur. “We didn’t face the same issue at all during the six or seven thousand kilometres that we did with the engines last week with the three teams. And we never had the same issue on the dyno throughout the winter. “But again, we need to do a full investigation before to be able to give you a proper answer.” The sudden failure of Leclerc’s engine capped a race which was already proving a disappointment for Ferrari. Scooby Doo Episode Idea

The Gang heads to convention celebrating every version of him. Fred liking the stories where Blue Falcon is a man with a brain and few Rubberbands to get the upper hand on his foes, Macgyver style, 

Velma liking some of the more Science Technobabble comics because while they may be utter nonsense, they were some of the first comics to really at least make the attempt to explain something with facts and logic and the Blue Falcon in turn being a more logical superhero/ detective.

Of course Shaggy and Scooby are all in, watching all the series from the early wonky 40′s comics, to the Radio Shows, and He-Man esque toy commercials, to the mid 2000s xtreme versions. Every incarnation, you name it, they’ve watched it.

Daphne on the other hand doesn’t really have that same spark when it comes to the franchise. Sure she thinks Dyno Mutt is nice and she can get the appeal of the hero but to her, its a 7/10 franchise that she likes cause her friends like it.

So the convention hall is haunted by phantom of the opera type guy, Red Cassowary, some deep cut character from one of the lesser known spinoffs when the parent company was hurting for cash so they just leased out Blue Falcon to random movies and projects like how Marvel sold their characters movie rights.  Chase ensues, Shaggy and Scooby dress as other lesser known d tier characters of the Blue Falcon canon and Fred gets the idea of a trap via tar and defeathering. As said chase and idea happens however, Daphane stumbles upon ...

Some Foreign Hail Mary like Japanese Live Action Spider-Man. The Acting is Sentai Campy and the plot is less than complex but goddamn it what brings her to love are the faults but also the heart. The costume designers and make up team doing their best with a shoestring budget, monster costumes and sets creatively reused to keep the audience intrigued while not stretching their already thin dollar too far.  A flawed Diamond in the Falcon Engraved Rough. The others of course find this odd (Scooby and Shaggy mostly writing off as like a amateurs cake “Earnest but Half-Baked” but the Gang truly appreciate that Daphne found her nerdly niche.

The Villan of the Week turns out to be a Costume Designer that was mad about Work Rates in the Sweatshops of VFX factories and how the good old days of costume design and physical spectacle had been tossed aside for a green screen and acting to the air.

Steve is mostly deaf by the time he is 20. One more concussion during the last stand against the upside down stole his sense from him.

It's a struggle. But his friends are amazing. Robin and Dustin and Eddie learn sign language with him, and eventually, all of the party knows enough that he never feels left out of conversations.

He can still hear some low sounds. Robin's voice is lost to him, but Eddie's is low enough that he can still hear the timbre of it. He can still hear music with low pitches, too; he develops a new appreciation for rock and metal music.

It gives Eddie an idea. One afternoon, he drags Steve to Gareth's garage, where he sets up Jeff's bass guitar and an amp. He shows Steve how to hold it, how to pluck at the strings, and how to play a basic scale. Half an hour later, Steve is laser focused, sitting on the amp and listening and feeling the low thrum of the guitar.

A week after that, Steve drags Eddie to Indy to buy one of his own.

He sets it up in his garage, and he and Eddie spend hours playing together. Eddie teaches him as much as he can, but there is a lot that Steve has to figure out for himself. He's never had a challenge quite like this one, and he finds himself loving it.

He finds himself loving his time with Eddie, too. Eddie is funny and awkward and talkative, even with his hands. He's passionate about music and is an eager and enthusiastic teacher. They add dinner nights to their routine afternoon jam sessions, and Steve discovers Eddie is also very physically affectionate when he doesn't have a guitar in his hands.

One evening, as they are reclining on Steve's couch with the radio turned up way too loud, Eddie starts to sing along with the song. Steve doesn't really think about it. He just leans over and presses his ear to Eddie's chest, listening to the low pitch of his voice. If Eddie thinks it's weird, he doesn't say anything. After a while, his arm wraps around Steve's shoulders and holds him close. The song changes, but Steve doesn't move, and Eddie doesn't stop humming along.

It's easy after that. Easy to exist in Eddie's personal space, easy to fall for his goofy smile, easy to realize his new favorite spot is sitting in his garage beside Eddie.

And when Eddie's hands are flying as he tells Steve about this new song he's writing, it's easy to lean over and kiss him.

How would you write Scoob? The only thing I liked about it was Ken Jeong’s Dynomutt.

I'd keep the cast limited to just the scooby gang and the falcon crew bc i don't want to overload the story with too many characters. Dick and Muttley are still the main villains.

Have it where the Falcon Crew can't get along ESPECIALLY Brian and Dynomutt bc of clashing personalities poor Deedee bout had it up to HERE with their bullshit

Brian's backstory is fleshed out; a rich jock who took the mantle bc he wanted to show the world he's not just a shallow rich kid he's obviously insecure and well meaning but also GENUINELY has the skills to back it up he just needed to be more open also he is voiced by Brendan Fraser cuz fuck Mark Wallburger

The dynomutt we see in scoob is an entirely new model built specifically for Brian; the original Dynomutt is in florida with Radley. Jeong!Dynomutt is called Dyno 2-1-0 (obvious parody of 90210)

The scooby gang is still separated but they get help from Penelope after escaping Dastardly's ship

Also my oc Umbriel/Brielle is there because fuck cringe culture

Shaggy and Scooby get to become temporary superheroes but kinda makes mistakes bc of their flaws but works out anyways bc they want to rescue their other friends, their closeness is what inspires Brian and Dyno 2.0 to work out their issues

Love subplot between Brian and Umbriel just because I can lol

Deedee and Captain Caveman already knows each other, as she retired from the Teen Angels so she suggests going to him for help

Everyone reunites in Captain Caveman land but Dastardly gets there and threatens to wipe the entire civilization out;

Turns out my OC has magic power and Dastardly needed her (and three dogs) to unlock the Macguffin whatsisname

He takes Dynomutt & scooby hostage and with Brielle's power forcibly fuses them into Muttley into the Cerberus. With Muttley's evil as the controlling Head leaving poor Dynomutt and Scooby

My OC is without power but with the memories of her friends she has a turn around

With Captain Caveman, Penelope and the rest they all go to Venice Beach to stop Dastardly and his Cerberus

Back in Venice Beach Dastardly is high on power while watching his Cerberus wreak havoc; everyone is running around helping civilians and distracting Cerberus

Shaggy and Brian successfully gets through Cerberus, allowing Scooby to take control from Muttley and ending the rampage

Brielle with the help if her friends manage to outsmart Dastardly and get her power back and save Venice Beach

Afterwards, Brian and Dynomutt make amends, the day is saved and a few days later everyone celebrates with a party and Venice Beach is declared a dog friendly zone in honor of Scooby; also Brielle and Brian agree to a date bc fuck cliche movie romances

Team Falcon recruits more members (Grape Ape, Atom Ant, Jabberjaw, Captain Caveman)

Scooby gang are back together and they adopt one of Dastardly's robots who becomes that universe's Scrappy Doo (bc scraps get it)

Dastardly and Muttley are sent to the pound, leaving room for a brand new villain: that green bitch known as THE GREAT GAZOO

I have an outdoor flock of ~30, mostly silkies. My smaller bantams live in a separate coop. I usually have two disabled house birds but recently my sweet rooster crossbeak, Dyno, passed away. You'll occasionally see chickens in my house inside in my pictures. Sparkle, my special needs white silkie hen, is permanently indoors.

I am happy to answer well meaning questions about indoor chickens or chicken husbandry in general, but please don't be nasty toward my birds (this includes "food" jokes...) or I will just block. I would prefer if people did not try to make suggestions on my husbandry unless I ask.

Today was day 2 of mental health/long weekend. I started my day with rock climbing. I completed 2 climbs and did half of two more, including half of a 5.9, which is the hardest climb I’ve attempted so far. I got stuck on a dyno and was inspired to write something, which should publish in the next few days. All in all a pretty good day of climbing and I will return on Monday for round 2.

Then I had a nice chill afternoon of snacking and Netflix (and tumblr). I did a little tidying too.

I finished my day with a trip to a local children’s entrepreneurship market with food trucks and live music, where I enjoyed street tacos while listening to live music, followed by finding a delightful bath bomb I’m planning on using tomorrow and a monster cake pop (minus the stick) courtesy of the medium children.

A good day 2.
