Shit Link and Ravio get up to during falltime

These two idiots will be the death of me

1. So, say Kakariko village hosts a fall fair. It’s this annual, big-deal event and includes an award ceremony for the farmer who presents the best seasonal produce. Link and his uncle used to compete every year, the apples from their orchard were especially popular. Imagine the leading farmer of the year has grown a batch of huge, fresh pumpkins and is in the middle of setting up his display, when… in a flash, two youngsters barge through, absolutely crushing each and every one of his precious pumpkins. And it’s not even intentional — they’re chasing something. Maybe each other. Maybe a wild animal. Only the gods know. RIP his pumpkins though.

2. The boys discover a wild rabbit home not far from Link’s house, and make it their mission to befriend as many rabbits as they can. It starts with giving them unofficial names (nicknames, technically?) and checking up on them once in a while, but eventually they somehow end up so invested in these little animals that they end up knitting them little rabbit outfits. Link particularly loves dressing them up in little purple clothes, before he proudly shows them off to Ravio.

3. Link is a terrible cook. He doesn’t even enjoy it, and therefore doesn’t really care. But when it comes to apples — oh boy. Something or the other about ‘keeping family traditions alive’. Jams, pies, salads, syrups, you name it. And of course, the first time Ravio gets to experience Hyrulean fall, Link insists on teaching him every recipe he knows. Ravio jokes that he could just close down his shop and they could open a bakery instead.

4. It’s safe to say that Ravio is more well-mannered than Link, if only slightly… I mean, he was affiliated with Lorulean royalty for who knows how long before the events of ALBW, while Link, well… professional oversleeper and just freshly recruited blacksmith’s apprentice (which I headcanon wasn’t even skill-based, moreso an act of pity after his uncle’s death left him orphaned, a way to ensure this child had at least one adult watching over him). So naturally, Ravio finds himself doing more of the chores in the house. Don’t worry, he definitely nags on Link until he too does his share. But each fall, Ravio will gladly take on the task of raking the fallen leaves off their lawn… and he absolutely doesn’t use this chore as an excuse to play in the leaf piles.

Got any body headcanons for the Links? At the moment, I see Ancestor (Skyward Sword Link) being more chubby due to his morning laziness and stamina meter.

Thank you for asking! I’ve been wanting to draw the Links’ body types for a while now :D

Ok so, I’m totally with you on the Sksw Link headcanon, though in my AU he’s a bit more than just lazy in the morning: he’s generally very lethargic and tired most of the time… Take that as you will. Edit: I am far from the first person who has characterized him that way! Just to be clear. I take a lot of inspiration from other artists and AUs.

As for the other Links!! I find Champion (Botw/Totk) very interesting to draw, because of the way I made his body change between the two games. In Botw he was leaner, in Totk he’s gained some weight, but is still muscular. And he’s the only one who’s had top surgery, I haven’t decided if it’s an age thing or a timeline thing (that the practice didn’t become a thing until Botw era??).

Rancher (Tp) is buff yadayada come get y’all’s juice I guess. Love drawing him, I feel like gives really good and strong hugs.

And Mural, aaah I adore him, I made his body somewhat inspired by myself as a young teen. Makes me happy. Idk how he feels about it though. I don’t think he cares too much about his body tbh - he does care about his appearance in terms of clothes and accessories, but body-wise? Eh.

Mural and Atlas⚔️

So I thought I’d do a little backstory/background info for this one!

In my AU, “present time” is considered to be somewhere along the lines of ALBW (Downfall timeline), Twilight Princess (Child timeline) and Wind Waker (Adult timeline). I know they may not canonically align completely, but… meh. Anyways, these are the three “current” heroes! They all have a sort of spiritual connection with the previous iterations of the Hero, though their connection isn’t necessarily strong and can be unreliable… regardless, they each have an “extra strong” connection with their most immediate predecessor in particular, namely the hero before them:

Mural has Atlas (ALBW is the spiritual successor to ALTTP, and they share several similarities, visual and story wise. Atlas generally isn’t too happy when he first meets Mural, perhaps because the young boy reminds him a bit too much of himself, and he’s not too keen on seeing another go down the same path as him? Presenting, Cranky Uncle/Older Brother-Figure Atlas.)

Rancher has Prophecy (Twilight Princess Link has the Hero’s Shade… yadayada. Besides, they’re related by blood. He has always been aware of Prophecy’s company, ever since he was a child he could sense a sort of fatherly presence. As he embarks on his quest, the Rancher develops a somewhat serious but close bond with his ancestor.)

Okay, I lied - Sailor is the exception to this rule. You’ve heard it before, and you’ll hear it again: Wind Waker Link does not possess the Hero’s spirit, at least not inherently. His predecessor vanished from his timeline shortly after defeating Ganon, and would proceed to exist in the Child timeline. It’s safe to assume that he gained some sort of connection to the Hero’s spirit after completing his quest, but he doesn’t have a designated guardian/mentor. Perhaps he may… adopt one, eventually?

Which of your Links would be most likely to eat something willingly despite being allergic to it? (And what are/would they be allergic to?)

I feel like Prophecy would be the type of person with an “there’s no such thing as bad food” attitude. Like, this man grew up with only nuts and berries for food, and after he discovered human-made meals there’s no going back. He would absolutely never waste anything, even if it makes his stomach hurt a bit. Of course, hyper-allergies are another thing. I’m not talking about the Serious Stuff.

Both Ravio and Mural would eat something they’re allergic to just for the laughs. Like, just to see the others’ horrified reactions.

I don’t know why but I can totally see Ancestor with a gluten allergy???? I have no idea why tbh. But he’s gonna be fine, he’s got enough pumpkin soup to make up for the lack of bread. But he’s one of those who actually stay away from the food he’s allergic to. You can say he takes his allergy seriously? At least more than the others do, haha.
