The Will Of The Many - James Islington (please read it)
If you like dark academia, high fantasy, political intrigue and just a hint of body horror, this is the book for you!
I know most of you follow me for my mid poetry but I also really like books too ok
Genuinely an incredible book. I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of Islington's earlier works but this book blew me away and there is virtually no fandom for it which upsets me greatly (I'm partly putting this out there because I crave fanart)
The start is kinda slow, and I'll be honest I was put off by our protagonist at first as he feels like your classic edgy YA character, but the further in I got the more the characterisation and world building intrigued me - I binged the last act in one night (also, on audible the narrator Euan Morton was King George in hamilton idk I though that was cool)
I, like a lot of you, have never read Dracula before so I have no idea what's in store for us but I am SUPER excited! And I haven't actually seen a lot of Dracula-related media so I am REALLY in the dark here :P
BUT!!!
Years ago, I heard this FABULOUS song from Frank Wildhorn's and Jeremy Roberts' "Dracula the Musical" performed by Euan Morton and Norm Lewis attached to this BEAUTIFUL animatic.
I have no context for this but I'm really hoping whoever this maniac is he shows up soon! I love him!
So I feel like now that we're all on the Dracula train, I'd share this.
Justin Collette (Beetlejuice), Nevada Riley (u/s Lydia Deetz), Megan McGinnis (Barbara Maitland), Abe Goldfarb (u/s Adam Maitland), Jesse Sharp (Charles Deetz), Kate Marilley (Delia Deetz), Danielle Marie Gonzalez (Miss Argentina), Matthew Michael Janisse (u/s Otho), Brian Vaughn (Maxie Dean), Kris Roberts (Maxine Dean/Juno), Jackera Davis (Girl Scout), Michael Biren, Juliane Godfrey, Jesse Jones, Kenway Hon Wai K. Kua, Katie Lombardo, Sean McManus, Lee N Price, Trevor Michael Schmidt
Notes:
Absolutely beautiful recording of Nevada Lydia, Abe Adam and Matthew Otho!! Some washout is seen in wideshots and such. Absolutely no obstruction. Overall a great capture of great understudies.

Notes:
Very nice capture of Marc as Burr and Jimmie as Washington. Some head obstruction at the very bottom of the screen in wideshots, but it never takes away. This cast is absolutely Incredible together, Miguel continues to shine as the best hamilton we've ever had, While Marc plays off him and the rest of the cast insanely well. The chemistry is off the charts in this video.
In this exercise, we are to portray a character doing an action in two versions: one with centre framing, the other in accordance with the rule of thirds.
We chose to have our protagonist learn to waltz by himself. He begins with timid steps, then grows more confident, but falters eventually when he realises how lonely the prospect of dancing alone is.
Script:
Personally I would use a mix of both shots that use the rule of thirds and shots that use center framing. The use of center framing makes the viewer feel like they are having a one to one moment with the character. The rule of thirds generally creates the opposite effect. This kind of framing allows the viewer to understand the relationship of the character to the space the action takes place in.
For this specific script I would use center framing for the first half, so that we understand the engagement the caracter is having with the activity he is doing. And the rule of thirds for the second half, when they realise their relationship with space, that causes them to stop dancing.
i am literally so entranced by the glam rock caligula that euan morton was in. that's such.... SUCH a concept. alas i don't think any recordings of the ep are available online anywhere :(
I've encountered Luceno-books before, and I didn't like them.
Cloak of Deception was so damn boring I gave up somewhere around page 50.
Catalyst, I've read but was meh, at the best.
Tarkin, I've consumed as audiobook, but since Euan Morton has the uncanny ability of reading me to sleep in about 2 chapters of whatever he's reading in that soothing, velvety voice of his, I still have only a very vague idea of what the book is about. I only remember that Tarkin is a quite fucked up individual.
Now, Darth Plagueis was a very decent reading. Good, even. It's sure as hell a very much character-driven story, but it's absolutely not a problem, I liked it.
Dear James Luceno, feel free to count this as a win. I enjoyed Darth Plagueis much more than I expected.
For this exercise, my group and I were tasked to recreate a scene from a film of our choosing. We were to be assessed on how close we were to matching the original scene, with a big emphasis on how we achieved the different lighting and framing.
we chose the bar scene from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. We believed that this would be an effective choice of scene if done correctly, due to the different camera set ups and lighting, not to mention the scene being in black and white.
My role on this task was producer. I ensured that we worked in a safe, productive and professional environment. Beyond this, I assisted with directing and lighting for some of the more complex shots that required more assistance to achieve effectively.
though I was not able to attend the pre production meeting, I still offered input as to what we could do to make the final scene as faithful to the original as possible.
^^^ and it’s SO GOOD. All art credit to them, i’m 99% sure their tumblr is @jadzidraws but i read the audio books and thought “hmm” and then got to work, so i took the original audio off the video and ta-daa
